It IS silly and already is causing confusion. Last night we spent ridiculous amounts of time doing pres that ended up with no boss spawning, even though it was at the right time – presumably one of the other bosses spawned somewhere else at that time. It was choatic and confusing.

My hope is that the programmers of the online timers will manage to get their heads around the oddities of the schedule, and so in a few days we may be able to use timers again.

In the downtime between events I did something else, such as start pre on Melandu or head to the Fields of Ruin to take on the branded giant devourer champ. May try this again tonight now with megaserver enabled to see if more folks show to take on these other champs once broadcast in map chat and my commander tag up. Pre megaserver on the branded devourer I was lucky to get 4 folks to show to take it on.

I’m not about to do any rage-quitting. There are things I don’t like (new champ schedule, and my town clothes tonic that gives me horrible drab brown/uncoloured clothes that I can’t believe anyone would want to ever wear, unless they were rp-ing a hessian sack), but there are things I DO like too – I’m delighted that my salvaging now unlocks everything as a skin, salvaging hasn’t been this much fun since the introduction of MF (and that was beginning to get old). Also I think the new traits system is much simpler and will be easier for newbies. Pros and cons, as always I suppose.

What I want now is some new LS so I can put it all to the test properly

I must admit this is the part of the package I like the least. Last night I used the schedule to work from but I still only managed to do less than half the number of events/champs I normally do. I spent most of the time either afk waiting for the next time-slot, or doing pres only to be find we’d all just wasted our time on it when the champ then didn’t spawn, and we were now too late to catch the same-level champ that HAD spawned in that time-slot somewhere else on another map.

And if none of that makes any sense to you, then I think that demonstrates the problem.

This is getting like the forum equivalent of waiting for a champ

I’d pay for one too but they cancelled all app development just after launch. Interviews I read were of claims of having locations of guild members on minimaps on mobile and browser systems so you could hookup with your friends in game, guild chat, TP access and minor inventory access for TP control, etc.

This would have been awesome imo.

^^this. That is exactly what I would love to have. I know you can’t really play with an app, but I’d love to be able to do the forums, chat, TP stuff, inventory, etc.

I’m in the UK and I love the time difference. I get to do the update at around 5.00pm usually, ideal for me, I leave it dl-ing over dinner and it’s ready for me later on when I’d be playing anyway.

Also, I keep Pacific Time and Eastern Time displayed in the bottom of my browser (I use FoxClocks in FF), very handy, not just for gw2 but loads of other things I use that are based in the US. It really needn’t be a problem in this day and age, although I’m very envious of Ozzies who live in the future lol

I would appreciate that too. If it’s a big update then my quaintly rustic threadband will turn it into an agony of eternity >.< I read that we get 5 free transmutation charges, but they’re only available on the day of the patch – well, it could well take longer than that for it to trickle through here lol

I really like plant names, I think it’s intelligent.

My ele is called Helygen Deilio, it’s Welsh for Willow Leaf, although I suspect it should mutate to Teilio maybe? Welsh is very much my second language, I’m from Pembrokeshire where most people speak English.

I just wish I could fiddle with my inventory and sell stuff on tp while I’m waiting the ICE-AGE it seems to take for zones to load.

I have ‘rural’ broadband that’s comparable to a piece of string with a tin can at each end. And I too am dreading the feature patch. I’ll be lucky to play before Thursday >.<

All the versions are still widely available here in the UK, on Amazon.co.uk and even in my local supermarket (Tesco). And I recently bought another copy of it online (taking advantage of the half price ) which I guess anyone can do wherever they live. I can’t honestly say I’ve noticed it be unavailable at any time.

Btw, for anyone wondering, the download version was a LOT simpler and less hassle than the boxed version, I would recommend it. AND I was able to simply copy-paste all the serial numbers etc from the email into my Documents, onto my back-up hard drive etc so I won’t lose them, as I have managed to do with my box/serial number for this account (doh)

I didn’t get credit for Morgan’s Spiral, I went on from there to Dark Reverie, which did count…I’ve seen this reported before, there’s definitely some glitch that causes some puzzles not to count. Wall Breach Blitz in Diessa Plateau is another one, it counts when you have to complete a jp for the daily, but doesn’t count in Puzzle Discoverer.

I always hope someone WILL pick up my spare fiery GS, then we can take down an enemy in a fraction of the time. People are always amazed by how much damage they do and they have loads of fun with them.

Not to mention it’s great to conjure them as a toy when we’re waiting for some champ to spawn Sorry but you won’t find me supporting any change to conjurer-only.

Well, I love the game. The only content I’ve ever not entirely enjoyed was the marionette fight (too chaotic) and SAB (not really like playing GW2, I kept getting bored with it after about 10 minutes – I appreciate I’m the only one though lol! )

Personally I can’t wait for S2, I keep checking every day to see if there’s been an update of any kind

The cave’s always been there, it’s where the pirates stash their loot, which is guarded by a very fine cat I wanted to check on the cat during BfLA, but the mobs were too much for me to get there – too bad, as I now know there was a rubble pile/heirloom in there too sigh

Anyway, in the Aftermath it was one of my first places to go visit, to check on the cat, who I’m happy to report is still there guarding the loot

I’m not an rp-er, but I like having them around, they’re great fun to interact with and add depth to the gameworld, I find. I don’t want to be separated from rp-ers just because I don’t have loads of them in my friends list, guild etc. I suspect that’s unlikely in my case because I’m on TC, but for many people on other servers I think the prospect of Tyria devoid of any rp-ing whatsoever might be a bit sad.

If I’m dead in an event I nearly always wp and run back, as otherwise I’m just adding to the scaling problem, plus I really hate when people have tried to rez me and been instantly downed >.<

Sometimes though as soon as I’ve pressed M it says someone is rezzing me – never know what to do for the best then, I’ve been told off for mist-forming out of harm’s way/wp-ing when someone is trying to rez me, apparently that gets on people’s nerves too, so, yeh, whatever you do SOMEONE’S not going to be happy

Also occasionally (BfLA was a good example) wp-ing and running back simply isn’t an option because of the location of the wps and the megamobs in between – however I noticed in LA people were quick to rez everyone as the numbers were needed so much. I think we all realised that if someone has to wp they aren’t going to be rejoining us so our numbers will just go down and down unless we do.

I think really you have to make a choice based on the circumstances, a good and considerate choice, and the same ‘rules’ aren’t always going to apply to every event. Just be considerate, maybe – and that means rezzing people if you need them, too, not just wp-ing and running back if you’re dead. It’s not just dead people that have to think about their contribution to the situation.

I made a zerker warrior just for dungeons, is the only thing I play with him, do dungeon fast, no one die(not true :p), dungeons are done “corectly”, you get the money, everyone is happy, including me.
Is about eficiency, I have nothing against ranger except they not as eficient in dungeon. If you wanna play a lesser toon the the tasks at hand its your problem, not the other 4 ppl problem. Embrace reality

I’ve never done any dungeons (only LS instances), and I was just browsing in here looking for tips…but jeez, the way you talk about them, makes them just sound SO BORRRRIIINNG… I think the quoted post here pretty much sums it up… dungeon done fast, is about efficiency… that is exactly the kind of content I avoid in GW2, maybe you guys are welcome to them LOL

There’s not been an update that resolves this yet, which is why it’s not been fixed.

Also, there isn’t exactly new content, this is the epilogue. You had your great big end battle last episode.

Well I kind of assumed since this was raised a few hours ago that it might have been fixed. I’ve only just downloaded the update now, I don’t get usually get a chance to download new updates until late evening (GMT) so it’s often the case that small issues have been raised and fixed before I download it for the first time.

As for the new content, I was going on the release notes and the many, many forum posts about the new content you say there isn’t LOL

If you’ve received an email telling you your account has been restricted or suspended, be VERY careful to make sure it’s genuine, there are a lot of very real-looking phishing emails going round at the moment.

If you can still log into the game despite an email saying you’ve been suspended, then it’s probably a phishing scam, and you must not click on any of the links in the email. I think there’s a post on here somewhere about these phishing emails, I’ll have a look for it.

Yep this is the exact same dc issue a lot of us have been experiencing lately

Official word from the mods is that all of a sudden all our ISPs are at fault, but only with GW2, our ISPs don’t seem to be griefing any other games we play online -.-

I’ve discovered this also happens with the arcane shield as well. Must be a bug, surely can’t be intentional for NO shields to work against wurms at all.

I only have one toolbar, and quite honestly I haven’t had this problem with any website since about 1998 when people didn’t know how to make web content fit into browser frames

It’s better with f11, but still not great; the gigantic banner still covers about a third of the screen, which really spoils it. It also affects the functionality of it – even zoomed out as far as it will go I can’t access anything below the level of the top part of Caledon Forest, the whole lower part of the map is ‘blocked off’ by the banner, and there’s no way to scroll down.

edit: ok now I can drag the map so I can access the lower part, I couldn’t before for some reason. It seems temperamental when I try to actually look at anything, it keeps going blank and/or resetting back the top part of the map, so it doesn’t look like I can make any use of it anyway. And that gigantic banner is still terrible. I still think that’s the reason I can’t make the lower part of the map work properly.

I really hope the Atlas is still in beta, because it doesn’t work in Firefox. Almost the entire Atlas is covered by the HUGE NCsoft banner, leaving only the top inch or so of the Atlas visible, and it has no scroll bar either so I can’t even scroll it to view what the words say (I can just see the tops of some letters). Same problem when I click on the book symbol, I can see one row of pictures and everything above and below is obscured by the banner and frame.

I agree with this, because I think the spamblock is utterly out of any useful control. I’ve often been blocked for ‘excessive messaging’ after only two or three COMPLETELY DIFFERENT comments…occasionally I’ve found I’m blocked when I try to make my very first comment!! Ridiculous. And for commanders to be blocked is just insane. I naively assumed commanders would somehow be exempt from spamblocking. Crazy.

Their most recent status tweet was 2 days ago, and it said nothing anyway. Maybe YOU should have checked it before moaning at everyone else to.

There are LOADS of threads about this in the Tech forum, with no official answers in any of them – that’s how I ended up here in Game Bugs, looking for an answer!!

Is this happening just now? Because there seems to be a server issue. Lots of people having trouble logging back in after getting dc’ed.

Got dc-ed and now can’t log in again.. if I do manage to log in and click Play nothing happens, I get stuck at the character selection screen. And then I get dc-ed again.

Not sure I got mine either, completed it day before yesterday as I was in EotM, I saw the notification out of the corner of my eye while I was mid-skirmish, and when I took a breather I had a couple of chests to open, but now I think about it neither of them were Monthly chests, I haven’t had a flask of karma, I can’t remember what else is supposed to be in the monthly chest. I’ll check when I play tonight. It’s possible I just didn’t notice it in the delicious flurry of chest opening

What does ‘range Warden 3’ mean? Perhaps not everyone speaks MMO-speak.

Maybe this example isn’t that bad, but most ‘orders’ I see in this kind of content are totally incomprehensible to many of us. For some reason I don’t have much of a problem with it in wvw, it seems to be in open world events like Teq and OoM that you get people giving incomprehensible commands and then getting shouty with everyone for not carrying them out. Honestly, I just think ‘Huhh??’ half the time I see these ‘orders’.
