I have been hoping for activities in DR ever since I first went there, even Ebonhawke has activities, collections, and a few secrets to find, which is why I prefer Ebonhawke even though it’s so tiny compared to DR.

I mean, a city that size should have dozens of things happening all the time, and instead there’s…nothing. Which just seems weird.

I did Taimi’s puzzle and was taken to Fragmented Wastes, not Ember Bay (which isn’t on my map), is there something I need to do there before I can access Ember Bay?

I have server Anxity and Depression and try to live with it on a day to day basis the current jumping puzzle that is setting me off is the one above the canopy in verdant Brink to grab the mastery there. I get to a certain point ( normal 3-4 jumps away from reaching it) and start panicking and I mess up and I’m left to start again from a lower point or having to go from the Broken bluffs waypoint as I got stuck with no way out. I’m wanting to know if I’m the only one who get’s anxiety spikes on these puzzles or if any one else gets them.

I have more things to do than I can fit into my play time, lol..

I use the daily as an opportunity to farm whatever area it takes me to, which makes me some money, which I desparately need (still trying to make glowy armour and my first ever legendary!!); plus I find it hard to resist a jumping puzzle (love them)… I’m also quite nerdy when it comes to crossing things off a list in terms of achieves/collections, both give me more satisfaction than is normal for a well-adjusted person, lol..

Necro is the most enjoyable/easiest for soloing I think, and if you level up to Reaper you’re pretty much invincible, loads of fun running into the centre of a group of mobs and just scything them all down

Well, the wiki seems to suggest it will still be available for the whole of 2016, although I’m not a PvP-er so I don’t know the criteria for getting it.

Basically the map consists of the four major lanes (ogre, nuhoch, rata novus, scar) underground that connect to the ley line confluence in the south of the map. Above ground, there is a camp corresponding to each of the lanes, with a waypoint, a wallow that leads right down to the lane, and a path to alternately take you to the lane without the wallow.

Wow Rasimir, that has actually clarified it for me, it’s more logical than I realised lol… maybe it just takes someone to give a staightforward overview sometimes! For all my running round like a headless chicken, I genuinely hadn’t realised the map was that simple Feel a bit of an idiot now, lol

I am totally stumped on this chapter of the HoT personal story I haven’t had a single problem up to now, but in this chapter, I find a piece of armour, then a pistol, then nothing after that I can’t even tell where to go from there as it says ‘near a waterfall’ and there are waterfalls literally EVERYWHERE

I looked it up online, but I don’t recognise the pics of the locations people have posted of where the stones are. I once found a stone, at the start near the armour/pistol, but couldn’t do anything with it…? I’m clearly just not understanding what I have to do here, anyway, any help or advice would really be appreciated, thank you

’Dragon’s Watch’ and ’Eternity’s Guard’ both sounded as if they were going to put on uniforms and stand with pikes guarding some door somewhere, which doesn’t exactly paint a very prestigious image of our heroes, lol… They also, it has to be said, don’t really mean anything.

You raise a very good point there. I’ve often wished there were other ways to play out the next stage in a story than just murdering mobs and then a big bad. I mean if your PC is a warrior, obviously that would be fine, but thieves, etc.? There should be other ways to contribute to move the story forward. Given the purposes/methods of the Orders in the game too, it would seem to be an overlooked opportunity really.

Well, the verticality would have been a real downer, if I hadn’t been able to fling myself off the edges and glide to…well, wherever I manage to get to, lol…for me that makes it a lot of fun, if a little uncontrolled here and there.

I love jumping puzzles, I often do them just for fun (no, really!) – I’m not necessarily that good at them though lol… which is why I’ve been very glad of the occasional mesmer portal, especially when I’m in a hurry.

I was trying Shooting Gallery for the first time for the daily, but I can’t work out how to use the action cam; I think you’re supposed to get crosshairs for targeting (like an fps), but I’m not getting that, I can’t target anything and I can’t find out how to work it?

The difference is, you used to be able to buy them from the BL vendor, then they were shelved so now you can only get them as a rare drop from BL chests.

It’s a great patch. I love the aerodrome area, finally we have somewhere to hang out again in LA! Still would love to see a bit more to do in there, but I’m happy just to have it. Maybe someone will start up a quiz night and other stuff again Also it seems to almost be jumping-puzzle-ish in places, maybe it will become one eventually? I’d be very happy to see that. And those 3 strange crates….hmmm

I would have to recommend reaper, they can scythe their way (literally!) through mobs with ridiculous dps on multiple enemies at once, and super-survivability with Shroud… doesn’t really have anything to bring to a group though, no healing, buffs etc. Only the ability to rush into mobs and mow them all down. Awesome fun for roaming though, for that reason

My guild is too small to have a guild hall (just me and my brother), so I’m fascinated to see how it works and what people can do with them. I wish people would post some more screenies, I’d love to see them

I just did Hot for the first time today, and it took me a good 30mins to take a base solo in silver wastes with my ranger…

I then had enough time to grab a vista and get down again when the base was instantly over taken… by strange dog things with insect legs, they out ran me flicked me up and insta killed me… fun…

I then run all the way back in time to see another player die to them and fail saving the base only to insta die again to strange green mist..

I then decide i’ll follow the story which was uneventful and well i have no bloody idea whats going on, apparently the pact has all been killed by trees and a dude with glowing eyes… Heart of thorn title and i’m in Brink..

No back story nothing so i’m lost completely I was away from GW2 for 2 years and well supposedly we are supposed to be able to drop GW2 and then return and not miss anything… guess not.

Ok back to Hot i’m wondering why sylvari are all evil now which is odd because the sylvari home town is still the same, i move on i defend this pact base after rescuing the reavers or something and ritlock turns up all ninja like and saves the day, everyone is shocked at him being alive but not me because i have no clue he was dead??

Then the real entertainment starts i finish the story and i’m told i must fly to start the rest well i have no clue on masteries so i go to kill some stuff… i’m insta killed by pocket raptors in seconds..

People find this map fun, really?

Also as an icing on the cake for some reason i get headaches playing hot, i do not in the original game, why is that?

The maps are dead on my server and well i have no real interest in going back, i feel i wasted my money on this thing.

TLDR Heart of thorns is a waste of time and money.

So i need to purchase 2000 gems just to understand my $60 expansion pack?

HoT maps need to stay exactly as they are, my Reaper cleaves her way through the mobs but struggles to solo bosses, that’s exactly how it should be for 80+ play. Not much point allowing us all to get to 80 and then having nothing to do. I mostly solo the maps as I’m still mapping and completing story chapters.

This is just level 80 difficulty, exactly what we’ve been asking for, and you’d be crazy to think you can solo these maps with a low level char, just as you wouldn’t solo Orr with a low level char.

I have experienced this, from time to time. It’s happened to me a couple of times at Inquest Golem, once at (new) Shatterer and many times at Maw, which seems to be the worst one for this.

Now I’ve got permanent auto-loot I have to be careful and check, but having auto-loot doesn’t fix the issue, sometimes you just don’t get the chest (except for the bonus one). About a week or so ago I was at Maw, and afterwards maybe 3 or 4 people were hanging round saying they didn’t get the chest. All I could say to them was, it happens sometimes, nothing you can do about it

Definitely yes. I loved the betas, and I love HoT, so no hesitation from me

I have already had so many times more value out of GW2/HoT than I have spent in money, I can’t think of anything else that keeps me so interested and entertained for such relatively tiny cost.

I am a new player who started playing less than a month ago and I completed Druid Specialization by help of a friend I met in game.

I just want to mention that these HoT maps are like nothing I have seen before in gaming world.

Such complexity and beautiful design force me to think they are not man made.

I really liked it and can not stop the feeling to explore whole HoT maps up and down.

Thank you for creating such gorgeous jungles and extreme design.

I totally agree with you, and it’s nice to finally see some positivity about the new maps – those who dislike them can be VERY vocal lol

I’ve loved them and been amazed by them from the first moment (which for me was beta testing). They’re the first truly 3 dimensional maps I have ever seen anywhere, and gliding is the perfect addition to navigate them – well, that, and a lot of very strong coffee, lol..

I still feel as if I’m only just scratching the suface of the geography and events in the new maps, even after a LOT of hours; for myself, I love that, but maybe some players who are used to acing new content in a weekend don’t like it being so tricky to get their heads round.

Seems like a way for the company to charge an inflated price just for an expansion.

It’s there so that new people who don’t have GW2 yet can see that they get the core game in the bundle too, so they aren’t left wondering whether they will still need to buy it seperately.

Yes, speaking for myself, I’m having a great time I’ve really been enjoying HoT, and as for the game as a whole, I don’t think I’ve ever had to do any real grind… of course I haven’t really gone down the legendaries/ascended crafting route, so I can’t speak for that, but then again I’ve never found any need for those things for any aspect of the gameplay.

Thankfully not grinding for things is no hindrance to any of the gameplay in GW2. I’m not sure what you think you need to do that is grindy.

I just had this too, in the end it finished updating and went to login as normal, although it scared me for a moment as the ‘updating data’ bar seemed to be stuck and it said ‘not responding’.

There’s nothing tricky about how/when/where she spawns; what i don’t understand is, if you’re not using a timer then how on earth do you get to ANY of the bosses? I’m totally mystified.
