I promise in advance that this is not a bashing post what so ever. I am not the greatest player, I will admit. I have three level 80’s, and realized that not one of them was leveled via exploration. So I decided to take my level 43 elementalist out for a tour of the world in an attempt to level via exploring. I started off in a lower area, and even with being specced vitality/toughness for surviability, I was having my rear handed to me repeatedly. Tried D/D and Staff. Neither was a no go. Hopped on my mesmer, again, correct level zone, still struggled to the point of frustration. I ended up logging out to play some games on steam. I can hold my own on my Ranger/Engineer/Guardian in WvWvW and in PvE but they are maxed out in level.
This is why I have all 3 leather and both iron classes maxed… and not a sausage on any scholar. They are not very PVE friendly
I use P/P and S/P and have no problem. I run from fights I cant handle, but I do just fine. Thief is easier than Warrior in orr, I believe.
For sure. I think town clothes deactivates it since the signet is totally inoperable. But if you take off all your armour but leave the signet active, you will fart bubbles of fire.
Edit:
I was wrong…
You fart fire bubbles in town clothes, too.

I’ve been playing for almost 3 months. So, no, I wasn’t at Southsun in November.
[snip]
WHERE IS THE STORY?
You know that time when you find a really cool TV show and realise you are watching season 3? And then you watch the repeats to catch up on old story?
Yeah, that. Not too difficult, is it?
Sylvaris look stupid in light armour. I dont like Charr or Asura. Human or Norn, theres not much difference.
In Scourgejaw, they are all seriously nasty criminals.
I feel bad stealing food from Grawl (I think its in Wayfarer).
I also feel pretty bad sometimes wiping out Separatists because in at least a few of my characters’ backstories, they sympathise with the Separatist cause.
(edited by GuzziHero.2467)
80 Thief
80 Warrior
80 Ranger
80 Engineer
80 Guardian
Did have (before deletion)
72 Elementalist
40 Mesmer
It was so easy, just the solo with a few more mechanics. Only thing I saw in the chat box was me being criticised for running about when I was taking 100% of the aggro!
Just easily did this with a PUG. 2x mesmer, ele, eng and me as a full toughness warrior. Guess who got all the aggro?
Still, it was easy as pie. A little anticlimactic maybe.
Having completed the solo mission against Canach, now I want to help him even more.
He isnt communicating much as a madman, or an evil man.
I am a compleat idiot and I beat him first time. Just took a moment to understand the technique.
I got a bronze, will I be able to have another try after the next reset?
Well now this thread is in Suggestions meaning thats the end of that. Thanks for playing, folks!
Hmm yes, I guess so.
But it is sort of forced… I didn’t mess up and cause an innocent to die… he did his duty and died a hero. Okay, his wife doesn’t see it that way but it is a bit of a forced element when it wasn’t my fault.
I have all the leather and iron professions maxed.
Just cannot play Ele to save my life. I’d vote for this being the hardest.
Oh, I agree. Some were ok, like Havroun Grechen.
But a more than 50/50 chance that an NPC you actually get a cutscene with will die is ridiculous. May as well give them all red shirts.
Okay. That is one person out of quite a few I have discussed this with, or have seen discussing it.
Would be good, then, if the fart bubbles were optional.
“What is these odd orange particles floating out of me and some other characters I see? I find it kind of annoying. It seems tied to my Signet of Rage, maybe adrenaline related but not sure. Is this new because I don’t remember it before this weekend.”
“So I just hit 34 and brown stuff just started coming out of my character. It makes it look like my warrior is dirty and the stench is so bad you can see it coming off of him. Anyone know what this is and how to get rid of it?”
There’s just two I could find with a quick search.
To be honest, it doesn’t look good at all. More like helium popcorn than (what I guess it is supposed to be) little balls of fire.

Noone likes the fart bubbles. They need removing but we are being ignored.
Spoiler: This is a rant. It contains a small spoiler though it is so predictable that it can barely be classed as such.
I have stopped giving 2 hoots about the PS.
It isn’t Trahearne, it isn’t the repetition. It is the constant killing of interesting NPCs. I am starting to wonder if any likeable characters survive this game.
I have 4xlvl 80s and yet today I managed to find a mission line I haven’t done before, with demolitionist Tonn. As soon as I started the chain, I was thinking ‘This guy is gonna die’ and sure enough, he did.
A death bomb done well can be brilliant, emotional and story significant. But like King Leonidas’ incessent shouting in 300, it gets old. There is just no point in becoming engaged with a storyline if it is so goshdarned predictable.
I don’t even play the PS out of interest in the storyline anymore. It is just fast Exp for me now.
Thanks to the writers for near-to-destroying the value of the personal story.
For those who missed parts of the living story…
Would people be happy if ‘replay tickets’ were made available through the gem store? These would basically re-load the LS elements for that person alone.
My feeling is that when I go to a story mission, I can see the green sparkly thing telling me where the instance entrance is, but noone else can. Would there be a way to make this happen for all LS elements so that only -you- can see the dead drops, or the molten facility entrances?
How much would people be prepared to pay for such replay tickets?
These could be adapted to the personal story too for those who wish to run through it again.
I was already of the opinion that he was a dark hero, who did the wrong things for the right reasons. Having read the latest story on him, I really have little desire to disrupt his plans. I think that the story designers haven’t done a great job of casting him in a villainous light, but rather given him plenty of justification for his angst.
I do not want to help the Consortium. I want to help the settlers. And if that means being wrong in order to be right, I want to fight alongside Canach.
Anyone else with me on this?
I dont know if anyone has read the HL2 book ‘Raising The Bar’ but the design of the Gonarch basically is along these lines.
They wanted something that would make players (who are mostly male) uncomfortable to raise the atmosphere of the battle, and so went for a creature that looks like gonads.
I would think the Karka design was intentional. Hope so, in fact.
It’s modeled on humans so Norn and Sylvari should be ok. The Asura get something cute. (floaties?)
But what to do with the Charr…
ANet’s answer is loin cloth.
That loin cloth NEEDS a guild logo that resembles a leg of ham. Just saying.
@ OP:
Charr female:
http://a.images.blip.tv/Gbtvnewsbreak9-GuildWars2CharrFemaleCharacterCreator178-918.jpg
Uncovered where right breast should be.
Who says Asura even have nipples? Who says they are even mammals? They may not even be meat-animals? Who knows? They could be made out of tofu
I tip 10s if they don’t ask for a tip, or say “Donations welcome”. If they simply say “Porting for tips” then that sounds like a payment in which case I will not.
Had one ‘person’ try to verbalise me on this point the other day.
Query: Is this the same Ottilia who you see at the Battle Of Claw Island Mk.2 (Retribution storyline)?
And now I have mobs randomly appearing, making 2 attacks and disappearing…
Just been playing the Moles head chain solo in Bloodtide. I’ve done it before, but its never been like this. I am used to 4-5 enemies in a mob just just been attacked by 13 in one go while defending the Vigil camp.
Is anyone facing issues like this? I mean 5-8 I can handle but 13?
BTW before anyone says… I am lvl 54, lvl 50 armour and weapons in an lvl 51 event.
Oh yes they often appear in groups of 3, identical, running round like Benny Hill chase trains.

Once you have the required achievements, have seen all the events at least once, been insta-squished by reef drakes… what is there to return to Southsun for?
I know that some love the crab toss game and thats cool. But the drop tables from the enemies are completely out of whack with the effort required to try and kill them.
From my experience so far, the drop tables look a little like:
Junk
Junk
Junk
Junk
Junk
White crafting mat.
Junk
Junk
Blue clothing item.
Doesn’t give much incentive to return and support those who are still getting the achievements.
Seeing the Faren hate shows me that Anet did a brilliant job, as did his voice actor.
He is supposed to be a really darned annoying idiot who thinks money can buy everything and who tries to steal credit for everyone else’s deeds.
I say he is just perfect as he is.
Every time I go there I have an urge to play the entire ‘Plastic Beach’ album by Gorillaz.
Anyone got any more desert-islandy themed music to share?
Yesterday on Dragonbrand there were Commanders at several events shouting them out in chat, including one shouting out where to stand for a mesmer portal to the top of the JP.
Great community
Ah haha didnt see that.
So goshdarned glad I just levelled my Engie to 80 and put the 1500 range grenade trait on.
Enjoy the aggro, hack n slashers!
They gone. There were notifications that all the F&F stuff would be removed with the Southsun Patch on the 14th.
Some of my guildies missed out too but there it is
Watch them be RNG drop. Thats the way things are going.
Sorry for being so pessimistic, but I am REALLY cheesed about the jetpack.
Ah yes, forgot about them.
They look a bit naff with most outfits, though. But I get your point.
Karka event we got an ace Karka Shell accessory. Halloween, we got the cool Mad King tomes. Wintersday there was the parcel backpack.
What do we have from the Molten Alliance arc to show for our efforts? Okay, I admit there are the Rox/Braham items for purchase. And if you are very lucky there are fused weapons and the near-impossible-to-get jetpack. But very rare RNG drops are not really momentos, they are just luck items.
As it happens, I was lucky, I did get a fused token. But the majority of players come away from the Molten Alliance story with nothing.
C’mon Anet, at least give people a fused token for participating.
I think its a little London gangster named Brick Top
(lol word filter blocks the region of London where they use rhyming slang)!
I personally will not play Charr or Asura largely because of what is discussed in this thread.
With the weaponry and equipment that is present in Black Citadel, the Charr would be able to storm all over the globe unhindered. Ebonhawke doesn’t even have city gates or walls with defensive weaponry on it. Those Charr track vehicles would be faster that anything short of an Asura gate and unstoppable by almost any means at humanity’s disposal.
It’d be like Ghengis Khan attacking Europe again. Except this time he has Sherman tanks. No contest.
As for the Asura, I see them as a joke race anyway. As jokey an annoying (at least) as T-Bob from MASK. The technology they bring helps to make them even more comedic. Let’s face it… our players do not kill Zhaitan. Weapons that are almost assuredly Asura tech kill him, we just press the relevant key at the relevant time. Anyone could do that.
While I support MOST things that aNet has done, this is ridiculous and completely wrecks any chance of time-restricted players to even participate.
Shame, would have looked cool on my primeval armoured warrior, too.
Actually, my mother died 5 years ago during the week that the US celebrates Mother’s day. I am going to find Life’s forum and type out a really angry post at the inappropriateness of the timing.
… yeah.
Its classed as a Violation. Thanks!
PLEASE do not mention the name of the person in question if you know it. I am trying to bring this guy to the attention of the GW staff and naming/shaming isn’t going to help.
There is a player on the server I frequent who continuously tries to ‘cyber’ players with female ’toons. I would like to report this guy since he has tried it on 5/6 of my female characters plus many others. I am concerned he will try this with my 13yr old neice who just started playing.
I looked through the customer support site and none of the headings seemed to be suitable.
Anyone know how I am best going about contacting game staff on this issue?
Thanks!
Ahh I missed that bit. Looks like the only bug is my brain!
Thanks!

I bought the Pirate set of town clothes last year and used them on my Sylvari thief.
Today I removed them, banked them, and used them on a human thief, and the skill bar is blank.
Do I need to return them to the original character to use the skills?
I have a G600 and have no trouble whatsoever.
I use my GW2 settings as default (since I don’t do anything else that requires the sidepad), maybe try that and see if it continues.
I love Caledon. When I rolled my first character, a Sylvari, I was pretty much like her… just gazing in awe at the beauty of my new world. Fantastic place.
After that its Queensdale, then Wayfarer, then Metrica, then Ashford. To me, the Asura tech feels out of place and everything about the Charr is ugly and uninspiring.
Ooze. It is the ONLY race other than human I have any interest in playing.
