Oh and the kicker… hyenas are not lupine, or even canine. They are feliforms of the hyaenidae family.

It’s just something that bugs me, and I wondered if it could/would be fixed.

At some stage in the future I wish to make a male character, but for now my 4 are all female.

If I buy the Pirate clothing from the gem store on a female character but do not apply it to clothing, can I then apply it to male clothing? Does the pirate clothing become soulbound on purchase or equipping? I am asking because I may buy it if it comes on sale, and before I make a male character.

This time I am move savvy. Loot bosses often, and I now have more than enough to equip my up-and-coming Elementalist.

Thief: struggled with Yellow/Green gear till I worked out how the type system worked. I had about 10G so spent £ on gems to buy Exotics. Of the wrong type, really but they do fine.

Warrior: had all Rare lvl 70-80, spent £ on gems to buy Exotic Knight’s Draconic with Runes Of Undead.

Ranger: same. Spent £ on gems to get Exotic Knights Draconic.

Elementalist: now I have learnt to farm dragons, I should be able to afford good armour with in game money.

The guides on which armour improve which stats are fantastic, I read them over and over when making a build. Generally though, I slam toughness onto everything I can, I hate being downed.

I always undercut by up to 10c, to the nearest 5. EG if its 1s 12c, I sell for 1s 5c.

Good news! Its in the 1-15 area Wayfarer Hills, the nearest waypoint is Krennak’s Homestead. It also spawns every half hour or so.

Bad news! About 60 gazillion people will be there so you have to be really on the ball to get any decent damage on the boss to get credit!

You won’t be able to get rare gear till about lvl 40. I buy new gear every 10 levels and never have I seen rares under that. Buy it from the trading post.

Rare gear is usually as good as masterpiece 5 levels above it. EG an lvl 40 rare is as good as an lvl 45 masterpiece.

I find it challenging, often frustrating, but I feel the game SHOULD be challenging. I’m not a critter hunter, walking around forests with my .22, plinking rabbits and squirrels. I am an adventurer, travelling into a dangerous and untamed world with a sword, a shield and some courage.

I don’t want enemies nicely lining themselves up in a row for me to shoot/stab like some console game. I want to walk softly and carry a very big stick because I am outside the safety of my fortified city.

This isn’t Duck Hunt. And one does not simply walk into Mord-Orr. One runs, with bloodthirsty beasts at his back and worse ahead. He uses his wits, his skills and his blades to survive. That’s how it should be!

How rare is my Magmaton? I know at the time I could have traded it for some serious gold but chose to use it.

Personally, I don’t mind the jokes. TBH I consider the entire Charr and Asura races to be complete comic relief along with the ooze king. Charr are just furry versions of Warhammer 40k’s Orks, stupid but their belief in their own creations are the reason why they work.

Charr also remind me of the Cizerack from BattleLords of the 23rd Century RPG, which my particular group excluded from the setting because they were so improbable and badly designed.

I just deployed my minipet air elemental and instead of floating about, its like a little scorpion, walks on sparks of energy and even has a little scorpion tail!

Nope. Theres no gun in that offhand box at all. I dont know how I could tell if it was making up the stats for that second gun from the 2nd gun in the set or the one from primary.

I wanted to check out the #3 thief pistol skill with no offhand weapon. I tried removing the offhand, wouldnt work.

This is what happens when I remove both and equip one. It just re-equips them both. Is this intentional?

In PvP/WvW, a (warrior sniper build) hit u with #4, #2 then f1 (10k-15k dmg). if u still alive #3 u sure die. All ur ranger combo stated above maybe made him left 50% hp or more if uses Endure Pain

I enjoyed my ranger right the way up to 80 and still enjoy it. Play it more than my thief actually.

Dont let them put you off, Gillius. I solo’d my ranger to 80 and I have brains made of 100% mashed potato.

I do wish they could use pistols and rifles though, doesn’t make sense having a ranger blocked from some projectile weapons.

I’ve had this discussion with my guild before.

I recently maxed my ranger and I love it. In fact I prefer to take her to Orr than my warror. While not as DPS powerful, the ranger has skills far more useful and adapatable to one vs or group play.

I almost always use SB/LB with the rare exception of S/A. My pet distracts while I lay down firs LB#2 then LB#5 to slow. Then switch to the mean fast SB and #1 them to death. If things get desperate out come Hounds of Balthazar. I also use Hyena because of the BOGOF deal.

With the exception of defeating champions, this is a powerful combination and I actually believe that the ranger is powerful enough without the pet, that the pet is just a bonus (especially for taking first strikes in Orr). I have 0 in BM and I find her more survivable in dungeons and Orr than warrior, though some distance behind my thief.

G600 mouse.

All my 1-5 skills are bound to G9-13, and 6-0 bound to Gshift G9-G13

F1-F4 are G14-17 and mirrored on Gshift G14-G17.

Heal is also on G20 and mirrored on Gshift G20 so its always there when I need it.

Yes I know this means I have heal 3 times (G20x2 + G9) but I can access it when I am activating other skills, or it is always on G20 when necessary.

Don’t forget all those you purposely condemn to death when you shut the gates at the battle of Fort Trinity.

I might make another thief, JUST to try this. If I recall correctly, my first time round (as a noob to GW2 and to all MMOs) I was downed, retried from checkpoint, and finished it second try.

Ask him to give you his account details.
Finish his Legendary for him.
Tell him to hit his mother over the head with it.

In all seriousness… I get the feeling you guys were probably laughing a lot about it so his mom might easily have misunderstood. Sounds like an overreaction but if you can, put up a thread on this forum which describes the problem and calmly try to get her to read it. Maybe then she will see it isn’t an uncommon problem.

Well, I took an ele (a class I suck at) and equipped 2 Cure Condition utilities.

I sat back and Quinn solo’d her.

Actually, in all seriousness, I only had to use one of the CCs and finished her off first time. I agree it does take some preparation to think of using a CC (and this game really needs a tutorial…) but she went down much easier than Pete in the same story or Riot Alice in the story where you fight her in the hideout.

I led a storymode party here of 5 people, 3 who needed the progression and another 2 who didn’t

In the opening scene, we all saw our own players being the quest leader, finished the mission, and only I got the credit.

We re-played it with another player being leader. Again, we all saw our own as the leader and only player 2 got the achievement. So we had to do it once more with player 3 being leader!

And yeah, when it ends, we all just turned almost transparent and started floating off…

Funny enough, I was wondering if there was a way to turn them off. Sometimes they get on my nerves!

I am a complete moron and I found Thief to be nice and easy. You can even spec a skill which gives you 25% extra run speed in case you want to avoid enemies.

Great range of weapons + stealth + highest mobility in the game + ? = Win.

Sounds like it. That is bizarrely low.

I did DCI with a level 44 (I think) and lvl 40-44 equipment on a ranger and was doing a helluvalot more damage than that. Well done for getting through it!

I use Magmaton and a maxed exotic Glyphic rifle. My armour is Knights Draconic running Runes Of The Undead.

I use orbs for my trinkets mostly, thats why they are blank.

Shouldn’t your guild be helping you with this?

If it is just a casual guild, you know you can be a member of several at once right? Represent the one you are building with and use the other as a social club, if that is what it is right now.

Heh yes, I got pummelled in them and wondered why. I had armour for Pow/Pre/Con Dam and no traits in toughness.

Now I wear exotic Knights Draconic with Pow/Pre/Tou, 30 in toughness and 30 in crit dam. I am a kitten King Tiger now

I just re-specced the traits on my warrior (no toughness LOL) and chose the trait bonus Deep Strike.

This adds +40 pre for each unused signet that I have equipped.

Now, whenever I activate a signet, I have 2-3 seconds where I cannot control my character. Cannot attack, cannot move or if I am moving I cannot stop her. Everything else moves as normal and once the trait has activated, it’s party time.

Now, I went onto the Hero screen and noticed that when I activate e.g. Signet of Rage, my crit chance goes from 54% to 74%, waits a second, then drops to 72% (because the signet is in use, I lose the Deep Strike +40pre bonus).

So, is Deep Strike lagging my control feed or something? Has anyone else had this issue?

I’d love to reply to this (I have Asperger’s which really affects social interaction) but I have to go to work. I’ll post later.
