US or NA?

Some figures.
AMD 955 Black Edition processor, GTX670 GPU, 12Gb RAM, 11fps on medium settings at any world boss.
shrug
The godawful way the message was delivered meant I didnt find Rox until AFTER I had all the hunt the dragon elements. This game gives you tasks which are easy enough, but an almost impossible chance of working out how to commence those tasks.
I finally made a Charr so that I could get the 30 achievement points for doing the Impersonal Story up to lvl 28.
And here, in a nutshell, is why I don’t like Charr.
I think several people have summed up my disappointment very well – I was lead to believe that the progression in GW2 would be merely cosmetic, not vertical progression of stats. From that, again as stated, the impression was that people with many toons (or ‘sheets’ as I refer to them in offline RP gaming), would have little to fear – once you had completed your chosen equipment set, any alterations would be a matter of taste.
Ascended has pretty much changed the game as regards to that. If I had only 1 or maykittenaracters, I’d have said “Okay, get to work gearing up”. With 8… it has really knocked the wind out of my sails as regards the game.
On another note, I largely share the disappointment of others regarding the usefulness of condition builds and revamped world bosses. Yes, it is only a few gold for some more exo, but the way this has left not only builds, but entire professions in the cold as regards usefulness.
There should be some physical effect, visual effect, for any trinket they produce. Else, what is the point except bragging rights? And… noone cares about anything Legendary anymore. You work for it, you have it, or you don’t give a kitten .
Perrrrsonally, I like to think that Jennah’s barefootedness is actually down to some very crafty and skilled craftsmanship. Basically that she is wearing sandals of a sort but they are so fine crafted as to be almost imperceptible.
As for being an illusion… I don’t think so.
Why didn’t Anet tell us this was coming when the game started?
Now, with 8 characters, I have no interest in the slow process of crafting/manfacturing these ascended or whatever items for any of my characters… since I know that to make them for all will take many months.
The way this has been done is somewhat underhanded, and has helped to dilute my interest in GW2. Anyone else agree?
54% and I rarely leave Divinity’s Reach. Stop moaning, it isn’t a race.
I run Knights on my warrior. First time I have ever known to be favoured over ’zerkers
Ohhhh my buddy Cameron will be SO displeased when he returns to GW2. He loved his Space Marine-ish helmet.
How depressed/raging/emo have you become over Tequatl?
I wanna hear stories of angst!
I dont mind the insta kill dart traps. I dont mind the really poor hit detection…
But W2 Z2 is just way too long. At least give a continue spot where you can leave and return to later!
Um… a lvl 80 in less than at least full exo… is a waste of a character slot, and a team slot.
The jump in stats between MW to Rare and then to Exo is a quantum shift in effectiveness. I certainly would not take anyone into a dungeon with less than full exo armour and weapons (accessories aren’t quite so important). I dont care what stats you prefer, but exo is an absolute must.
I wouldnt mind if it was hard to get, but exos are so common, most people would salvage what they find.
No wuckers. I figured it was quiet time in the US.
If anyone is on, invite please.
I bagsy turret defence.
Something I have been thinking for some time.
In almost any fantasy story you have amulets that are either intrinsic to the story or at least have useful facilities like Amulet of Strength, Amulet of Purity etc. Even if they are named to a person, often they have an important role to play in the plot.
What I suggest is, making amulets with some functionality. Not a straight up open slot, but a boon function.
This could give a tiny boon to classes that lack them, but not as significant as actual signets/utility boons.
That way there is at least a chance of forming a coordinated group even within one to get this fight done. As it is, only those in Main know where they are and who they are grouped with.
I deleted Mad Kings Tome.
Answer – no.
Ok, fought Teq in overflow.
Facing mobs of 5-8 risen, which each take a dozen players to kill, instant downs from red ring attacks you can barely see, and cannot always dodge completely out of the way of because of the AoE size, skill lag… this is not my idea of ‘challenging’. It is my idea of ‘ridiculous’.
And now I am getting disconnected every 50-60 seconds.
Tequatl just took a delivery of some really good sh.. and is currently tripping.
Thats the best way to explain it.

Thanks to the dynamic combat system, this is about the only MMORPG I can play. I cant stand point and click or turn based RPG.
The world is amazing, the personal story is… adequate, and I love most things about GW2.
Good work, Anet <3
I live in the UK and won’t touch another SS keyboard. Mine failed after 7 months, and to have it checked out for a possible warranty replacement, I’d have to mail it to Denmark, their EU hub.
That’s half the price of the G6V2 in shipping cost. Much cheaper to buy a Cherry Black and fix it myself.
Noone ever visits this poor guy…

He’s getting so lonely :’(
See, the point Conncept makes about the Charr turning away from Flame Legion for, apparently, egalitarianism, is one thing about GW2 that really rankles me.
Lets get serious about races and their professions.
Humans can be any profession and it is lore-probable. 6 Gods, that has pretty much every profession covered right there. Dwayna – Guardians. Balthazar – Warriors. Melandru covers half the Elementalists and Rangers. Grenth – Necromancers. Lyssa – Mesmers, Thieves (stealth) and the other half of Elementalists. Noone cares about Kormir, and Engineers are just signs of technological progress and/or unmagicked persons emulating magic by using alchemy.
Charr… well lets see. Engineers, Warriors and Rangers go without saying. Thieves exist in every society. Guardians are on shaky ground, and there is no way the Charr society would accept a Necromancer or a Mesmer. And as soon as any Charr Elementalist attuned to fire, he would be nailed to a wall on the Viewing Hill. Upside down.
Allowing Charr to be any of the magical professions destroys pretty much every vestage of their lore.
Its not just them though. In reality, only about half the professions would apply to the Norn, whereas even the dumbest Asura would consider any of the professions in GW2 to be far beneath their enormous intellect. Sylvari are just invented so they can do whatever Anet wants them to.
And dont get me started on the feminism in GW2…
Which was still taller than many other people during that time, but sure.
Celts were on average 5’ 4" to 5’ 8" depending on which study you choose. This is from studying skeletons of that particular time period.
To the Romans, yes the Vikings, Celts and Teutons were very tall, since the average height of a late Empire Roman was around 5’2". Teutons really were massive, compared to Romans, thanks to a more varied diet. But Vikings were no giants, by anyone’s standard.
Anatomically unlikely, horrid voices, pointless horns, and armour clipping galore.
Mind you, I can’t stand Asura either, ugly little grey spitballs that they are.
Oh, and a good reason I don’t play Norn. Cube root law. Besides, Norn pretty much play entirely on the myth that Vikings were large people when studies show they had an average height around 10-25cm shorter than modern man.

Skritt have their own city too. Quaggans have several villages, some of them pretty large. Centaurs have… a good deal of Kryta.
Largos don’t do cities, or society as such, or interesting in my opinion. Totally dull species that are basically humans with wings and masks (which also makes zero kitten sense for a waterborne species).
Only one species can do everything, though armour would be a sliiiight issue – Ooze. It makes sense
In all seriousness:
Centaur won’t work. How do they swim?
Skritt won’t work. They are dumb as bricks in isolation.
Quaggan won’t work. Maneuverability issues on land.
Tengu won’t work. Too many clothing asset issues. Plus breathing masks, how would that work?
Largos would, but it would be lore breaking since they are supposed to be very solitary creatures who are basically just humans with wings. They’d be easy to do I guess.
Kodan are the only possible option.
As for professions, there is plenty more scope out there. I have at least 3 very detailed suggestions already.

There is no #2. That is the only new playable race I’d be interested in.
I am about the worst player you can imagine, and I can say: the PS is easily soloable on any class… except elementalist where it is the most frustrating thing I have dealt with in a PC game (9 deaths in the reaper of Grenth mission, all other classes, I aced it).
Sometimes you may have to take 2-3 shots at a story mission but they are all doable.
No offence but… I like my blue ones for my guardian. At least I know not to bother with trib mode now
Righto, cheers.
When he gets ready to waggle his tongue, I always make sure I have Toad King targeted. He opens his mouth, I throw and… NOTHING happens. He does his tongue sweep and carries on.
I can’t finish the guy because something is up. Anyone else struggling here?
I have a few thousand, so I hope theyre useful.
You know… I never even noticed the unicorn for all the purple spooge.
This is how I saw it.
[pic of a huge purple mass surrounded by names]
“Now somewhere in there, if you look carefully, you can see what all these people are hitting…
Can you tell what it is yet?"

I like the event… to a large degree.
I do love the feel of an epic invasion, and being a small cog in a huge machine to fight against it. The crashes I suffered today… less so.
But I agree fully at the requirement to play all day to get the invasion achievements. 13x 35-45 mins is a lot of play time for those with time constraints. And then to crash from the LAST map I needed… well I flipped tables. I don’t care if my rant garnered me an infraction, thats how I felt about that slice of mudcake.
The ability to turn off the glaaaaaare when 40+ people congregate on a Champion.
I encountered a strange phenomena while doing Scarlet’s minion map invasion event (Mount Maelstorm btw) . During the entire event, Scarlet spawned on me over 12 times (lost count -_-). And by that I mean, she knocked my character off and literally spawned at exact same spot.
I am usually alone or have 3-4 people around in event as I avoid zergs. But she spawned on me in every possible scenario. (Alone, with zerg, with few people, within a red event circle, far away from any event circle)
After the final wave was done, . I knew she was going to spawn on me so I was going to the zerg on the map and when she did spawn as expected. I was getting close to the zerg but it was very clear she didnt spawn on the zerg.
I was on the map before event started (was doing jump puzzle) so it may have been the reason why she stalked me but I am not sure.
Has anyone else had similar problem?
Are you the guy from Tarnished Coast who was talking about this earlier? If so, your rant was hilarious
Cmon Anet, you should have known that the idea of giving people champions that distracted people from the actual events would do exactly that. There is no way to complete the defeat of Scarlet with lootcommandants chasing the mobs for their oh-so-precious champ loot chests.
Some of us are trying to get the achievements here.
What you are doing is dividing the community. You ought to log in and see the vitriol and abuse in chat.
The big plot twist is that this is going to all turn out to be a game created to amuse bored people. All of Tyria and it’s inhabitants are just bits of digital data stored on a machine, controlled by a stranger behind a monitor. When they realize this, it will change the way they think and feel about their lives.
Reading this, I think Scarlet is going to turn all of Tyria into 16-bit. An entire world of Super Adventure Box
Oh and if a chronomancer profession is added, I may just explode.
I have to say, the Logitech G700 is one of the best gaming mouses I’ve ever owned. No tacky 40+ buttons, works well with just about any game I play.
I had 2 G700s. One just broke, the other had to have the side buttons splinted on with a paperclip because they fell off.
Then I started playing Ele and needed 8 zillion buttons, so I got the G600. Will never buy a G700 again.
I only ever use kits. I would never even notice if I didn’t have a normal weapon set equipped at all. Does power affect my kit attacks?
Steelseries 6GV2 keyboard so withstand my sperg rages.
Logitech G600 so I don’t have to touch the keyboard for my attacks.
You will probably be doing map completions just to level anyway.
I have about 150 transmute stones sitting in my bank, accumulated over my last 4 characters. They come easily.
I personally love checking the dev tracker for her posts, especially when I find nuggets that go along the lines of:
“But I only called him a bad boy! Why did I get banned?”
“Because you actually used 7 expletives in 3 lines plus racist remarks”
“<no response>”
:D
I only use Combat Healer in farming zergs, to denote that this is my chosen role. This is so that other people I party with can see that I am contributing whilst not always attacking mobs.
Maybe we will finally have exterminated the last of the Risen, so the land can be populated by day-glo talking ponies or something.
