I was gonna add this into the original thread but the devs locked it because they don’t want to hear anyone’s ideas but their own as per usual. The fact that they don’t care that people are quitting this game in mass because of this change (including myself, I have not played since they made the change because I a disabled person can not do WvW or PvP) speaks volumes about the direction of their company lmao. I was gonna come back for Halloween but hey since when do we care about anything except gemstore and expacs and PvPeen content amirite guys? Anet you are alienating a significant portion of your playerbase and when you get valid critical feedback you plug your ears and lock the threads. These are sad, sad business practices. Put the vendor back. Keep the reward track. Stop cutting out content when you barely have any to begin with.
I think Anet has wanted to go back to the point of you have to do WvW to build a legendary, and the track was a great way of doing that. Before you got the achievement chests the only way to get Badges and the Gift was to WvW, as it should be.
In hindsight it was probably a bad idea to put Badges of Honor in Achievement chests because that devalued the effort people went to to get the Gift of Battle. Now, it’d be difficult to remove that aspect from accounts so severing the Gift from Badges was a logical choice.
I don’t see how it is “removing content” as if buying a Gift with free to earn currency is something exciting, challenging or engaging. It was adjusted to go back to its old values of being a legendary component requiring time in that particular game mode to attain.
If you really can’t bring yourself to WvW you can skip the process of building your own and buy first gen legendary on the trading post. I just don’t think a disability is that bad that it cuts you off from one part of the game, it kinda sounds fishy. You can still play in PvE so why not WvW? I just really don’t get that, there’s probably other disabled people that LOVE PvP/WvW and play it daily.
There are some things about the Mysterious Asura that… must remain mysterious at this time. However, James Richter from our Audio or Sound Team provided some information on processing that you might want to know: “Everything from the September VO sessions was reprocessed last week using higher-quality source material. To be clear, these were recordings of the same performances, but with some de-noising removed that was causing things to sound compressed and grainy (which other players had noted in earlier releases!). In addition, there was a bug in the Distorted Intercom process that was causing it to sweep through a much narrower pitch range than intended. So it’s possible that players were accustomed to hearing less pitch variation from this character than they have now, but the current version is more what the sound designers wanted.”
Interesting stuff, eh?
I have to agree with other people in this thread, it was the original lower pitch and grainy distortion that made this Mysterious Asura, mysterious. Actually sounding like he’s hijacked the fractal and overridden Dessa, it was a little sinister. Now it kinda sounds like Dessa left for a coffee and the trainee looking for a laugh has taken over.
So while doing “Infiltrate and disrupt Seanan’s Bandits” Located in North West Brisbane Wildlands, when you interact with either Ruppel or Ivy to get your bandit disguise, you are shown to be ported in to the bandit camp, only to then see a loading screen, and find yourself in the water under the map somewhere in Venlin Vale, the other side of the map.
I have 0% on this heart and this is probs my 8th world complete.
Did you craft it on another character (since the cooldown is account-wide) and/or is it still in your actual inventory on any character?
You have to open the chest…
Thank you guys for the support. We really appreciate it. Apparently there is a faster duo run, but that doesnt matter to us, since this is five man. We will continue uploading speedruns because all existing speedruns were made with the help of third party software.
Sincerely,
Tensaigan Son [PR] (Guild Leader and Officer)
I’d be careful of the community you’ll kitten off with this comment.
I’m no speed runner, but this community has very clearly set guidelines for their records, where 3rd party software is forbidden, not only by these guys but by Anet too.
Your video seems to show a cut at the start, not sure if you stopped recording briefly or teleport hacked.
You also had someone by the first door to trigger the first cutscene before the timer started.

I get this with my endless mining pick, my weapon skill set will ‘flip’ but stays on that weapon and plays the equipping sound of my legendaries. No boosters either.
You have to discover each Auric weapon in the discovery panel to craft each one.
It says this on the wiki.
“Through crafting by Artificers, Huntsmen, and Weaponsmiths.
The weapon recipes are all discoverable.
Each weapon requires an Orichalcum Imbued Inscription, Exalted Weapon Core, and two Oiled Orichalcum weapon components to craft (such as Oiled Orichalcum Shield Boss and Oiled Orichalcum Shield Backing).
Recipes for the cores are purchased from Exalted Mastery Vendors.
Invisible bags?
Or you accidentaly clicked on one of your bags in the trading post sell window, which filters the sell panel to only show what’s in that bag.
It’s incredible to think people still don’t know about this cap. It’s well documented. Plus every achievement has a cap, dailies should be no different.
it is not documented in the game at all, which is why people don’t know about it
There’s a lot of undocumented things in-game like many mmos, which is why there are so many 3rd party websites for each to document them. I wouldn’t want to imagine the size should all of this information be included in game.
Many who play mmos usually use these other websites to aid their gameplay, as they should. This is no different. They kind of go hand in hand.

Just tested this out myself, and there is a bug, but only on the tooltips.
For example, Life Siphon shows a 12s recharge when moused over, but when activiting it, the trait applies correctly, and the recharge is only 8s.
Afaik, any traits reducing any recharge/cooldown has never effected the tooltips for weapons atleast, but can be seen on counter when you use the skill, if you enable this is your options.
You will only see map completion details if you are in the relevant “expansion”. You only see details on the HoT maps while you are in the HoT maps, and Central Tyria World Completion details while in Central Tyria.
This game needs more premade emote commands.

I want updated /dance. Because they’re mostly based off pop culture.
And also to add /sassy to cycle vogue poses.
wtf! who was the person, who decided to change the waypoints???
“yeah, lets go ahead and change the waypoints for the heck of it.”
isnt obsidian sanctum a place for people to dual, GvsG, etc. yet they make it impossible to get there.
see imagine below
is total b.s. for no reason. i swear they just keep pushing people’s buttons
To prevent kill trading for loot and achievements.
The waypoints were changed on the 1st June 2016. If you duelled as often as you said you did, or cared about GvG as much as you make out, why has it taken 4 months to see a post like this?
I agree that kill trading shouldn’t happen as having to waypoint and run back is part of the dying punishment throughout the game, along with still having to repair, even though it’s free, you got to find that anvil. That’s the punishment. The old wp’s in OS were way too close together.
100% behind this. But I’d have the Marrionette as a Fractal too. It was a past event that shaped Tyria but we defeated it and it remains an inactive wreckage in Lornar’s Pass, with no one controlling it.
5 lanes 5 people.
Aslong as Mesmers can be more than boon share, alacritybots, moas and portals. We’ve needed a good DPS route to play that just doesn’t exist right now.
I would also like to hope that along with the balance changes, some cosmetic items are fixed, like The Juggernaut effects on Engineer grenade Barrage and Revenant hammer auto.
It’s one vote per account. If somebody has, say, 30 accounts, they can vote on each account. So a player can only vote multiple times if they have the accounts to do so. This is under the assumption the vote doesn’t take into account IP addresses.
Don’t twist the word buy to play. Its the same as pay to win. You buy (pay) hot, u get op specialization. no different, b2p = p2w
That is a blatant lie. Buy-to-play is the video game standard; you buy a game to play it. Pay-to-win is a business model whereby cash shop microtransactions offer advantages to paying customers that non-paying customers cannot match.
any form of cash that resulted in a combat systems is a p2w
Right here’s the difference, you have to buy this game to play it in it’s entirity, you want to have the latest updated game to stay competitive in game ergo you buy the expansion. It’s like this in many many games.
P2w is where you can buy BiS armor or general stat increases ingame with the swipe of a credit card where any player who doesn’t fork out the same price will not catch up. That’s p2w.
The free to play model is not supposed to be the full game and is not supposed to be played long term, you are supposed to buy the game after trialling it. It’s a very generous free trial allowing you to level to 80 and play the core story in full.
Core game owners are technically running the old version of gw2, no way around that, that is the truth.
There’s been loads of players on f2p accounts and even HoT owners running vanilla specs and still progressing in the league system. If you can’t then the problem is you.
From how you think, any game you pay for no matter what, is p2w therefore there is no reasoning with you.
It’s like going to a restaurant, you have to wait for each course, but you still have to pay for the food.

He’s mine! He’s called Fluffy!
Got a few of these screenies myself :P
Hmm, I tested it again. My fault. They both grant 250. Maybe they changed/fixed it?
But what I know for sure is, that the Birthday and Celebration Boosters don’t work for the WvW reward tracks.Wxp and participation are not the same thing. Wxp is awarded for doing a variety of things in wvw, this increases your participation rate in wvw which determines how many points you contribute towards progressing your reward track. Wxp is not actually used for reward tracks.
Both of those boosters give an effect called Celebration bonus, which btw will only stack in duration, meaning if you use both of those boosters at once, it will give you 25 hours of the same bonus and not a 200% combined effect. These boosters will help increase your WxP gain, but will not effect reward track gain.
WxP and participation are indeed not the same thing however, the celebration booster should increase the participation tick reward in WvW.
From the wiki for Birthday/celebration boosters, if you clicked on them to read it:
“10% bonus to reward track progress.”.
Also noted as a bug on the wiki is that this isn’t applied to WvW reward tracks. If it is bugged and doesn’t work, it should be fixed to be fair between PvP/WvW tracks.
(edited by Haleydawn.3764)
1- Actually, it’s stating that regeneration will be applied 3 times in the duration of the skill (4s every 3s, once on initial cast), and since Regeneration only stacks in duration, not intensity the description is accurate. It’s showing that it’s application overlaps the previous.
2- Definitly a bug that I recall being posted about a few months ago.
3- Downed state abilities can only be interrupted, daze has no effect, think about it, a player is already in downed state, a daze would disable all abilities including bandage, that would be incredibly imbalanced. Interrupt is fine, locking off is not.

Hmmm, it sounds like you’ve activated sticky keys for your Ctrl key.
I’ve heard that running shadow play can also make some key strokes ‘lag’
That’s because you need lesser vision crystals for both Memories of the Mother and Memories of the Father.
I used to get this problem A LOT, I don’t and haven’t for years since I resized all my alts bags to be the same width accross. Don’t know if any of you have tried this.
It cost me 230 gold (for the runes) plus mats, but upgrading to 20 slot bags in all the inventory slots on all my characters finally seems to have put this bug to rest for me.
I wonder if I should send a Support Ticket asking for a refund of the gold?
Since the problem is entirely unrelated to the size of your bags, I don’t think that’s a good idea.
Just posting what worked for me, by going through each character and adjusting the width of the inventory window to be the same on each character. Bag slot size indeed doesn’t matter.
I didn’t fork out for 20-slot bags. Some characters have 18 slot bags one or two have 15 slot bags.
Sry rampagers was core. Dire came out later, with magi, shaman’s, marauders is relatively new.
Just take any t6 mat from crafting a base legendary, those are core equivalents. Zerker (blood), Carrion (bones), Knights (armored scale), Cleric (totems), valk (fangs or claws? can’t remember), rampagers (poison/venom) etc
Rest are not core. Apothecary came out first as secondary when they released the Karka Queen island event.
I think Dire and the like came out with the release of Dry Top and Silverwastes or around that time?
Rabid, Dire, Shaman, Magi’s, are available at dungeon vendors and/or Orr temple vendors, which have been ingame since inception I believe, not craftable but they’ve been around this whole time with the ability to grab the inscription/insignia by salvaging the armor/weapons from dungeons. I would personally like to be able to craft these core stats but alas.
The ability to get the inscription and insignia from salvaging wasn’t always possible. That arrived at around the same time as ascended crafting.
When weapons were released yes. Before this Exotics were the highest tier armor/weapons you could have, so there wasn’t any point to salvaging them for the crafting component, as at the time you could only get Exotic. These stats were available in exotic form from release.
You could salvage dungeon stuff for berserker insigias/inscriptions for profit, until they removed the ability to salvage them from dungeon stuff. So only the non-craftable stats can be salvaged for their inscription/insigias, since that is the only way to get them.
Either way dire/rabid/magi/shamans are most definitly core stats, as they are from the original game release, you just can’t craft them with t6.

No,
Core stats are valk, carrion, cleric, berserker, knights and so on.
Rabid, Dire, Shaman, Magi’s stat exotics can be purchased at dungeon vendors and/or Temple vendors in Orr, I don’t know how core you can get, so what exactly do you mean by ‘core’ and ‘secondary’?

ok, may be i wasn’t clear enough. as you can see i am at cybol right now, all she gives me is the complete journals books vol 1.
edit, now the whole quest is bugged. after letting the event reset by letting cybols hounds be captured, me and that the npc, nia is it? anyway – went to rescue them and when we got to cymbols entrance nia waved and went back to where the hounds were rescured from zzz
Without seeing Cymbels dialogue I can’t tell but do you have a crude leather book for her? You need that to get the baby book.
Go and talk to Cymbel in Fields Of Ruin, she will only talk to you when she has her hounds, the rescue event is south of where she is, escorting them back to her.
It looks like you have Disable Area of Effect Rings checked in your options, if you uncheck this you will see the red ring around any area of effects abilities, and I think you’ll find yourself stood right on this line ergo taking damage.
Be glad the Legendary Stonemist Lord doesn’t appear, he hits harder than the Rabbit.
I do agree that Skyhammer may be included in the Chaos story, since we don’t know who is messing with the Fractals atm.

Yeah more info was my purpose, not “omfg Anets, me wants this naow”
What if they wanted to be called that, did you just assume their gender?
Purely because most people turn to metabattle for their builds instead of thinking outside the box. I don’t think it’s because the weapons are underpowered, but because there are better options.
Years ago I did run off hand sword on for Mesmer, it was actually a lot of fun, as was Necro Axe-Focus/x when spinal shivers trait was considered OP. Fun times, you know, before metabattle was popular, describing itself as “Communicating the best builds regardless of ‘fairness’ or ‘honor’”.
I’ve noticed this recently that using Smokescreen only sometimes works at destroying all projectiles in any uncategorized fractal too. It never works on Old Tom either.
My thought exactly when entering Taimi’s game.
So when are we going to be able to obtain this? Currently doing the track for the standard armor and waiting to see if I’ll need the pieces to create the Hero’s armor. This was introduced in the April patch iirc.
(edited by Haleydawn.3764)
I’d really like some skin tight options for all weights, that don’t have buttcapes/hip flaps/skirts(long or short).
Think Sneakthief, Aetherblade Heavy Legs, Seer coat.
Seer armor would be so much better if the legs were trousers rather than the oversized bulky skirt.
The Capricorn Achievement will be removed at the end of season 4. Coliseum Achievements will be removed at the end of season 5.
Should have learned from Living World Season 1 and temporary achievements. Especially given the fact that even if these maps are in rotation by chance or because they’re pinned, there’s not a guarantee you will play that map on every match.
I’ve seen a few suggestions to add more achievements to PvP, and these map specific ones are a great idea, why remove them? Why not add more for the other maps with their own titles?

94 cliffside is much easier than the lower one;.
Are you really sure about that? Both damage dealing instabilities seem to screw over any party that isn’t the fractal meta of druid+4 necros.
It’s a lot of damage dealing with the agony ticks and increased enemy damage output when they’re low health, seeing as you have no option to spread out to avoid the agony ticks. This is a little silly.
That is silly, why wasn’t the Fanatic blind?
Dunno if it’s the pugs I grouped with then but non have gotten past the 2nd seal, bearing in mind I do play thief and use sword/pistol specifically for blinds/trash. Players stray /shrug I guess it just seems counterproductive to adjust toughness scaling to benefit power builds (well, to bring them to a similar level of condi builds), to then add not one, but two direct damage dealing instabilities on top of each other.

Thank you thank you thank you!
Players keep parroting this out-of-context phrase of “play how you want”.
One of my biggest peeves about these forums.
But the original Personal Story was gated by level too.
The original personal story was not gated by level — I used to finish the L10 story, for example, at ~L4 (since there was simply no way not to gain a few levels along the way). You weren’t required to be L80 to the L80 story parts; it was just exceptionally difficult.
Even now, you can join dungeons and even fractals without being L80
I can’t expect that a game developer puts in a linear progression system to then not use that system. That defeats the point of it.
I don’t agree that it defeats the purpose of the system. I think they gated the story behind masteries to encourage people to gain some minimum ranks to try them out.
You can’t expect Masteries to not be used in the story because it gates it, the whole levelling system was a gate too.
There’s a difference between making things difficult and making them impossible. ANet’s chosen to be paternalistic by making it impossible to do the personal story without leveling and the HoT story without artificially-chosen masteries that bear no direct connection to the content.
So it’s not so much that I expect that they won’t use Masteries in the story as that I don’t want them to tell us we have to — I want the content to speak for itself and let me choose.
Agreed, it did used to be a ‘Recommended’ requirement, but the fact remains the same, you couldn’t do the 80 story on a level 30. Dungeons however were never level 80 required, AC starts at 30, 35 for explorable with the other dungeons coming into play in 5 level increments iirc. So that arguement is self defeating. It is still gated with a minimum requirement although can be bypassed by having someone else open it.
Now, the story is a fixed cap every 10 levels. Meaning players do the story, then go and do more open world stuff to level up for the next (unless you use tomes, skipping the natural leveling system), which is exactly how the HoT story is (minus the fact you can’t use tomes to level masteries, encouraging active playing).
Now looking at mastery requirements for the HoT story none of them are the high tier masteries that are required (gliding 1 and 2 , Itzel 1, Exalted 1 and Nuhoch 1) Obtaining all these Masteries will require a total of 6 Maguuma Mastery Points and 3,048,000 Maguuma Mastery experience. Now add on the Counter Magic mastery in Ancient Magics, which is 508,000 XP and 1 Mastery point. That’s not a lot either.
Bearing in mind it takes 4.6 million XP for level 79-80, those masteries are a pretty shallow requirement.
But now the argument is having to stop/start the story because of this shallow requirement. Even though that is how the story is from level 1. That’s probably why the begining of the story arcs in HoT aren’t instanced, to get you past active events that have context to the parts you’re on. The story and area events are hand in hand, you’re just trying to rush past it.
So what is it? Require specific minimum masteries to progress the story, or change it to require a minimum mastery level? Eitherway it’s an attempt to make content last longer because there are players who steam roll the first few days and complain they have nothing to do (Season 2 leading upto HoT) Sure they could do a multitude of things to achieve the same effect, but they already have a system to do that for them.
One hopes the new map with repeatable hearts has a similar effect.

I used to get this problem A LOT, I don’t and haven’t for years since I resized all my alts bags to be the same width accross. Don’t know if any of you have tried this.
If it’s to unlock your elite spec, there’s plenty of solo/duo-able ones.
If it’s to map complete HoT and you are really struggling to find others and you only need a few more, do WvW to pass the time and spend Heroics to unlock them.
Going strictly by the letter of that notice, it would not count as false advertising. “Regular intervals” could mean, for all we know, once every year.
Very much so. I’m quite neutral about the whole ‘indefinite suspension’ of Legendary development, but rightly so in black and white, there was the promise of a set of 16 new weapons.
I can absolutely imagine the outrage if the next expansion came before the rest of the set, because it was advertised as ‘this is what you will get when purchasing Heart of Thorns’ not ‘This is what you will get, spread out in X paid expansions.’
