I think it depends what you would class as an easter egg, something unique and for just a bit of fun to find (The kittens and quaggans in WvW, or lore/reference related tid-bits like Alfa the cat). I doubt Anet will say whether we have found all of the little quirks in the game, that would ruin the surprise of finding them :P

I think this recipe should be purchasable, it originally dropped from gemstore chests during Dragon Bash (awesome 2 week event) that took place in June 2013. So, why not ask for the Bash to return as a yearly event, The Gods know we need more of them.

If Ascended armor/weapons dropped half as much as you think it does in WvW, there would be more playing in WvW and more attention given to it.
In 300 WvW ranks, I’ve gotten 1 armor box and maybe 4 rings.

Anet always stated they wanted crafting to be the main source for ascended armor/weapons. This is just rooting it back to that. I’m happy knowing that I’ll get a ‘discount’ on vendor prices over crafting, however raid prices need to be in-line with Fractals, PvP and hopefully WvW (when it finally gets implemented!) vendor prices.

This also brings up the stupid profession daily wins, which also throw your MMR Balance out of whack, along with account MMR instead of profession MMR.

The other problem is when the game puts you into a class stacked game… So people swap out to not class stack. It’s a double edged sword really. So if you remove the ability to swap, you absolutely must use remove the class stacking element from matchmaking, and the profession win dailies.

Another suggestion would be for us players to ‘Register’ upto 4 professions for the League Season, which would share MMR. The rest would not be able to queue for ranked.

Just A Flesh Wound, and by default, Chris Cleary have already answered your question. Why are you trying to spin the quite clear answer into something you favour? It’s not going to work.

Ths Guild Hall Arena is not a stand alone instance, it is set in a PvE instance, with PvE rulesettings.
The Arena is a “just for fun” asset.
I would much rather we had a choice of it loading into WvW (certain things disabled) and PvP rulesettings (PvP Build UI), aswell as just walk in and have fun as it is now. But that may be more effort than it’s worth from a development side of things.

1- Queue dodging results in Dishonour stacking on an account already.

2- If you click “Accept” for your match, you can then click “Dismiss” to remove the box until map selection pops up. “Dismiss” doesn’t remove you from the queue.

I’m pretty sure they stay closed as they’re only there for decoration.

The alternative would be using a birthday blaster. It’s +40 to all stats, so 5 less then the revelry cake, but has +10% Karma, +15% Magic Find and +15%XP from kills.
You’d have to use a primer though to extend it’s duration to 12hrs.
Even using Celestial gear though, most would run power or Defensive food.

You’re best trying to get atleast a full set of Exotic quality equipment if you’re doing the HoT story and beyond. The expansion content is harder than the core content. This is where you should initially decide how you want to play your character, every option (Tanky, healy, condition or raw damage) is viable, some slower than others though, but all able to do story content. Once you get comfortable, you can try different playstyles, but you need to find a starting point.

There’s several ways to get Exotic armor, Dungeons, crafting, WvW (Badges of Honor), WvW/PvP reward tracks (Mimics dungeon loot, when selecting a dungeon track) and the Trading Post.

I have 3 necro’s and I was reading…

1st: I use eye of rodgort, and the crossing on the 1st, with the severed dagger skin…
2nd: I use zhaithan’s reach,the ley line staff (blue grey color themes char) and the severed dagger skin again
3rd: I use godskull axe and dagger, adam and final rest as staff…

arachnaphobia , mad moon are not very usable for necro’s even though the theme fits…

I’ve recently remade my necro and I use Twilight and Final Rest but I am very tempted now to make Nevermore, since my new nec is Norn it would really fit her.

It’s more like trying to not bloat the game file. Like every MMO. If more info was included in game data, you have to think how much is relevant to every player.

You can do things like this without the wiki, since players have to figure stuff out before a wiki page is created of it.

To add Treasure Trove to your guild bank, increasing it’s capacity to 150 slots, you need a guild level of 20, Market Restoration 1 completed, 1,500 favor and 3,000 Aetherium.
So if this is only your personal guild, you may have a lot of other upgrades to do to get to guild level 20.

Really hope they mirror the PvP ascended acquisition for these skins.
But it would be nice not having to wait much longer for it.

I posted about this armor set about 5 months ago, asking when we’ll be able to obtain these sets. So, for the sake of not necroposting my old thread, here we are.

It’s coming upto nearly a year since it was introduced as being a reward from WvW, yet it is still not obtainable. Can we get a bit of an update?

If we could get bonus points on our reward tracks by doing the objectives, even if it’s only a small increment of +40 or something per event. Or scaling, like +40 per defense/capping towers or keeps, +30 for camps, +20 for dolyak kills/escort, +5 for ruins/shrines. (numbers implied are just to explain the idea)

I really really would like if building seige and repairing walls would keep your participation up too, the amount of times I’ve seiged some t3 keep/tower to then see my participation decaying is a little bit annoying.

People asked for the Arena to use PvP interface of stats/runes/sigils etc at inception. I was one that asked for that option.
Fact is, the arena is a PvE area, since your Hall is a PvE instance, and it’s intention is just for fun.

Technically, all 3 die when your mentor does in your personal story. You only see your mentor go but that is the path you chose to view.

I kinda wish they’d make the map larger tbh, it’s a pretty tiny map. Like, centralise the spawn points, have the trebs near the central exits and widen the map, extend the distance between the outside points.

Aren’t most tonics non-combat tonics, with no abilities on them?
Some tonics are costume brawl tonics.
There’s a couple now that are combat tonics.

Anet just made then non usable while you are engaged in combat, as it triggers on swap weapon sigils. You can still use them and then fight while transformed in combat tonic (Ascalonian Mage, Watchnight, Kodan and now my new favourite Endless Miniature).

I like the idea of adding unique or as you say “Legendary” pets. But only as an aesthetic, since pets are only used on rangers, their combat stats are balanced with the damage the ranger itself does. So adding higher stat pets will throw things out of whack.
I’m now thinking of all the unique/rarespawn pet skins in World of Warcraft I got before I quit. The spirit animals were amazing.

Maybe the thief is specced/geared for condition duration?

If you’re talking about Multiloot, you’re in for a surprise.

There’s the bandit that will charge you 2 gold to temporarily turn traps off for you.
The skritt in the jumping puzzle also charge upwards of 1g each time you request to return to your last check point.

It kinda sucks you can fail your way to your 5 pieces per season. But on the other hand, it takes far far more games to acquire if you don’t care about losing your way to it. That’s the double edged sword to Anets ploy of getting more people into ranked games, also the reason there’s a cap on shards. You have to factor in the season plus the time until the next to truly calculate time to get your full ascended set from PvP alone.
I don’t personally see a lot of games thrown, but I don’t play it half as much as I used to due to multiple factors ingame and irl. I just play to keep my rating where it is and decay off because I think I belong there (Gold t3).
I’m glad the other rewards were untied from rating now, but no one should be encouraged to play ranked for any other reason but to improve and win.

don’t disagree with your comments bar spvp – its actually a guaranteed 5 pieces of ascended armor with choosable stats in a couple weeks of play (losing 1 in 2 fight), broken but true. only play when its fun though, the fights are usually good fun but can be frustrating after a while, stop when it gets frustrating and return later when you are recharged

I stated to not rely on drops from PvP/WvW, the Ascended Shard aquisition is a good source though, but only when the League season is running. It is guaranteed 5 armor pieces with the max Ascended shards you can earn per season. This season finishes in 2 days however, so chances of getting those 5 pieces in 2 days is very slim, you may get 1 or two. That chance is also non existant this season if the OP is not rank 20. Since you need to be rank 20 to queue for ranked.
Usually there’s a 6-8 week period between league seasons too. So in that time, you can definitely get a full set by crafting it and doing collections.

This PvP season ends on tuesday, so you’ll have to no life it for Ascended Shards to buy ascended armor until then if you want some armor pieces. If you aren’t rank 20, you wont be able to queue for ranked to even earn it yet.

There are two achievements which award an ascended armor box each (Bioluminescent and Ley-Stone Armor). Complete these and pick the expensive parts to save you gold, so you don’t have to craft them (chest+legs). There’s also a couple of achievements that award Ascended weapon boxes (Ambrite Weapon and Machined Weapon collections.) There’s also the Elite Specialisation Weapons, which are Ascended that you can work towards (Two shields, two staves, longbow, warhorn, torch, hammer and greatsword)

For back items, rings and accessories, Bloodstone Fen/Ember Bay/Bitterfrost Frontier for those.

My advice would be to craft. Then if you get into group content more do some fractals and work upto tier4 for dailies. You should start accumulating armor/weapon boxes to kit out other characters.

I crafted my first set, then I’ve mix and matched 5 more sets of ascended at this point from crafting, Fractal drops, Bio/Lumi collections and got 4 pieces for Ascended Shards. Fractals has definitely been good to me. I did get an armor from a WvW rank up chest the other day, but that was my first armor box and I’m rank 280ish in there (not high, but def not insignificant).

Between your screenshots, the karma difference is 5,250. The same price it is for one Pact Scout Mapping Material, which I see 5 of in your inventory on one screenshot (but you recieved 6 bonus materials judging by your chat log in the second shot, so you had 5, took a screenshot. Bought another Mapping Material for 5,250 Karma, used them and screenshot the “missing” karma). Looks like an oversight on your part.
Each day you can buy 6 which cost 31,500 per day in Karma.

The others have pointed it out nicely but everything has a “price” that you need to consider

1) You have to consider the price of leveling crafting from 1-500 before you can craft your ascended gear, which is different for all 3 crafting disciplines.

2) You need to be rank 20 to even be able to play ranked games (or am i mistaken?). If you arent “good” at pvp it can be frustrating as youre dealing with constant defeats,sometimes flames and toxicity from other players.

3) Not all players are doing raids, and even if they pay a run you still need to consider the price compared to other acquisition methods.

4) Fractals can be easier than raids for sure but you still have to do some effort and it can be time consuming. Someone also calculated that the price of BLING vendors are somewhat higher than that of the crafting (tho he didint use the price of leveling crafting discipline to 500)

In a game that has the same reward spread across multiple ways of acquisition sometimes it is better to look at time consumed in order to get it.

A 15-20 gold per hour farm could get you ascended armor set faster via crafting than anything else.

Anet stated when questioned about the pricing of the Ascended boxes in fractals, that they still wanted crafting to be the main, quick guaranteed way the majority of players got ascended armor. Given the restrictions in place on where to buy armour/weapon boxes (Magnetite shard weekly cap/ fractal research pages capped per day/ PvP shards capped by season with the Rank20 threshold).

The options on acquisition are there, but it depends on how much time you (the OP) want to spend on it.

PvP Ascended Shards are the cheapest way to get ascended gear. You are capped per season on how many you can get though, it’s enough for 5 armour pieces per League season however.

Buying from Fractals costs more than crafting if you already have the craft you need at 500. (Roughly 350g for 6 pieces of armor on average more expensive, plus you need a lot of fractal journals)

Buying with Raid Magnetite Shards + Gold is also cheaper than crafting, if you raid.

Back items and accessories/ammys/rings can be cheaply obtained from Fractals/Guild Commendations/WvW/The newest map zones.

I, personally, did achievements that awarded an ascended armor box (Leystone and Bioluminescent collections) then crafted the rest of the set.
Proceeded to do fractal dailies and accumulate armor box drops from there, crafting the odd piece to finish sets if needed. I now have 6 ascended armor sets. (5 full ascended characters, plus a set of 6 armour boxes, and 2 boot/glove boxes I don’t know what to do with yet)

I’ve stated before it should be changed to “Win one match” and “Win 2 Matches”. Same amount of time to complete as the daily profession win, but without the restriction. Dailies should be able to be done in ranked but the profession dailies do not help with the low population/class stack issue at all.

We all hit the MF cap eventually. I’m at 270% personally (not by going out of my way to increase it), though I’ve been spending my luck essences on lanterns in my guild hall.
Someone suggested an essence eater, not unlike the ones for bloodstone/empyreal/dragonite. Doesn’t solve the problem, it’s just a bandaid as only a small minority of the playerbase is at the cap right now.

Despite the description, stealth gliding uses whatever controls you normally use for dodge. So you don’t actually dodge while gliding, you just use the same keybind to apply stealth.
Basically, the stealth gliding description is misleading. You don’t perform a dodge while gliding, but using endurance activates stealth.

You have to do all 4 parts to complete it.

I mainly only buy Master kits. I cba to purchase different kits for different rarities, no matter what people say I could save doing so, somebody told me about 200g/year, less than 1g/day. Given the fact we get 2g just for doing a quick daily, saving that gold on salvaging means not a lot to me anymore. I make Mystic kits when I have the stones, and seem to get enough black lion kits from Fractals
I jumped on the Silver-fed today, I only use the master kit ingame. It’s a convenience item. If you feel it’s not worth it for you, don’t buy it. It was for me as I never have to buy salvage kits again. Woo!

You just did the math of it though:
Master kit for 25 uses : 15s 36c
Silver-fed for 25 uses : 15s
The gem cost is what you pay for the convenience of not having to buy kits and use inventory space. Good deal for most.

You use your dodge key to activate the stealth glide. It does not mean you use a dodge function while gliding. So, no that trait does not work while gliding because your dodge function serves a different purpose while doing so.

You can not evade attacks while gliding, unless you’re in Bloodstone Fen and you unlocked the dodge gliding ability while in that zone only. (This skill)

Scribe is a profession that — as the master craftsman warns you — mostly benefits your guild! It’s kinda sorta intended, we generally infer, that you also craft with the help of your guild.

There’s also enough resources now to know what you’re crafting before dumping gold on it.

I generally post on my guilds facebook, what I’ve got planned to craft and what I might need help with (my last big help decoration was Uzolan’s Orchestra).
I never craft any decoration until I see what it looks like.

Upto you really, you can just get certain waypoints for world bosses and dungeons and leave it at that.
If you want to know the main things You’ll get for 100%Tyria, they are;
-1 Mastery Point for central Tyria.
-Random loot plus either a Transmutation charge or a Black lion key per map you complete.
-A fair amount of Karma for doing so.
-2 Gifts of Exploration, should you want to make a legendary (or Scribe a Tyrian Globe for your guild hall)
-Plus, of course the right to waypoint anywhere.

Yes that still applies, as it stacks intensity.
There’s two MF attributes on Perseverence, the 30% permanent, which stacks intensity (150% while in Silverwastes, regardless what you do/open, ergo, not useless for envelopes), and the Bonus which is only applied when you open Bandit chests (applies for 1 second).

Hero of The Wastes is worth noting and using too for an extra +50% Magic Find.
