you got it!
one mistforged weapon = 300 tickets.
Still another 7 hours to go until reset in NA. some bugs abroad, you’re not supposed to get the tickets until wvw resets today.
If you don’t believe us, take a look at our ladder evolution here:
http://mos.millenium.org/na/matchups/histories
There are an abundance of things to kill in NA for us, and a variety of guilds who play in across NA time zones. That said, we have more than enough breathing room for another few guilds. definitely check us out.
Stay a while and listen,

get ready for carpal tunnel.
good place to start would be
6/0/0/6/2 – Invaders /Sentinel / Soldiers armor with Balthazar runes.
Pistol/Shield, Healing Turret, Elixer S, + Kit of your choice
tweak the Quality/Quantity ratio a bit more to the Quality side and we’ll be good =D

andrewclear wrote:I have to give CD some massive credit today. IoJ got the lead down to under 1k overnight, and CD came out during SEA and just dominated, and moved that lead up to 6k.
Hell, we even helped them beat IoJ one week cause we focused all our attention on IoJ, then CD’s NA tanks… very disappointing.
.
There is wayto many ways to start on your ramping bs lets see
First on the gw2wvw forums you never said you helped CD but rather gave CD huge credits for them showing up and taking 2nd while admitting you guys didnt help pushingonly ioj .
Second by winning second and burning ourselves it seemed that we secured ur 1st upon ioj , since they got 1st from you
3rd you never got backed up on your ramping bs plus I lurked on your website to see if ur still ramping that bs and yes you are while getting others posts saying theydidnt help cd at all and thats all them
idk wuts up withyou seems kitten from that ioj taking first , ofc you will reply "im not kitten bla bla " but like I said stay classy , dont go againsturown words to pvf
Fun season , we dont care if another came , we come hard <<< mmmm, but fun stuff hope to see most of you soonz
be nice Daeronz. we dont need to point out his squirreling to know it’s happening. =P
Near, i think thats an interesting idea – although perhaps it could use a little more diversity -
Fire – Burning + Blinding
Water – vulnerability, weakness
Air – Launch/Knockback/control (staff and offhand dagger already include these)
earth – cripple/bleed/immob
If condition is the primary for mainhand focus, what would everyone’s default auto attack be?
Staff has the fireball,
Dagger the Lightning whip,
and
Scepter the Arc Lightning skill.
What would be the defining auto attack for this main hand weapon?
Ooops. I re-linked them all in my original post.
Anyone ever think about what a F/F Ele could be like?
Rock Solid support:

This build traits into Earth for shared stability and extra toughness, (armor of earth 50% health) and boon duration
excellent if you are really struggling to survive, your groups are not staying together, are frequently bouncing off of barriers and wardings, or have a lot of trouble manipulating Evasive Arcana.
This build is similar to the Rock Solid support above, but with increased healing stats.
Commander Bunker Ele:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fFAQFAWhMM6cW5wwBr0APAC5fv2JKQ5qZfC-TlSDABPcBAyZ/hoU61o6PdpMAONEgoDAATQKoEUiHAQAgDAGe4hHe4kCYJhRA-w
This is the traditional bunker build, I’ve tweaked the traits to better utilize Evasive Arcana (gain vigor on critical).
In WvW I frequently switch my weapons (travel between targets with D/D, switch to staff as we approach a tower) so the Aura swiftness and fury is very useful. Running Melandru runes so that I can tank it with the best of the Hammers.
Support Damage:

This build is intended to maximize damage without compromising the support functionality of the water trait tree.
However, the gearing on this is still centered around survivability. Melandru runes FTW.
I settled on Valk gear because the vitality stat will scale with whatever utility nourishment that you choose.
You could also substitute the “spell slinger” trait for “pyromancers Alacrity” which could arguably be a better choice
When I was first starting, I ran an ele build that was a stereotypical bunker staff. That is GREAT to learn on. After you get used to the profession though, you’ll realize that 80% of your survivability comes from:
Really high mobility
High number of escapes
Every skill is 1.2k range
Knowing where to be in group fights (red circles = really bad)
Tons of condition removal"
(edited by Hamster.4861)
cobra, most of the time, frankly. I don’t get immobilized – if i do, then Staff 2 and decoy or Sword 2 and F4… I’ve got a lot of OH kitten buttons with this setup. (F4 can be done twice because of illusionary invigoration and Illusionary Persona)
I know i don’t have condi removal – against most opponents though, I do not have issues without the condition removal- the food does enough for me.
I dodge and stealth often, which makes me hard to pin down. I’m also more of a meele mesmer and i play it kind of like a thief, so a lot of skills miss me entirely. I land a LOT of interrupts, so I get lots of boons from bountiful Interruption. None of the stats that I have are too impressive, because of my variety of trinkets – splitting soldiers/rampager,
and my runes are simply a quality of Life improvement which happens to work well with bountiful interruption.
It’s a risk-reward trade-off that I make and i’m still successful with. I never said it was optimal, – just lots of fun.
For me, this build was about being robust and survivable enough to roam solo in WvW, handle any annoying backstab thief that wants on your nuts, and be able to confuse and wear down the enemy with conditions if i can’t burst them down.
Hey runic,
Here’s the shatter-condition hybrid that I’ve been using lately
its very fun. get strength runes instead of travelers for more damage if you want to optimize for damage. I use this as a WvW roaming build, and I win maybe 60-70% of the fights i put myself into.
Bountiful Interruption really makes this build sing – so if you’re not adept at interrupting, you may consider something else =D

Killing the official matchup forums.
Every player who has an account for GW2 can participate in discussion on the official forums, whereas they need to make an account to participate in the community driven websites. This seems like a relatively small User Experience difference, but many people on the official forums would consider the time cost of making the GW2wvw.net account and the amount of enjoyment they’ll get out of participating in the PvF on those matchup threads and they just kinda go “Meh” maybe later.
When every player had an easy and 100% efficient way of communicating with other servers, there was more server politics, rivalries, and other such fun that comes with PvF. That has been slowly dying out as servers get more and more disconnected from each other.
example: There are about 150-200 WvWders that I see almost every day on my server (NA PST-OCX). less than 10 of them come and PvF on the matchup threads with me.
At the end of the day, communication is what made the difference.
yay broken traits
bumping because mesmer has 99 problems and developer attention is one of em
T1 politics don’t affect me in game at all,
but I’m glad that the 2v1 happened. I was really tired of all the BG elitism that was all over reddit and the forums.
Where’s #beastgate #believegate now? reaping the rewards of their hubris.
Outnumbered is also unofficially known as “The IoJ Buff”
Condi-shatter mesmer build that I’ve been running for the last week or so, and I’ve found it to be very effective, and very fun although perhaps a tad squishy.
IF you want to optimize for damage – get a set of Strength Runes instead of Travelers.
Shatter mesmers are what I consider to be a High Risk – High Reward play style.
1: Shatters as a damage delivery system is unreliable:
Skilled players will easily avoid a shatter setup when they see them (that is getting three clones or phantasms in close proximity to a target for maximum damage on shatter proc
2: Because Shatters are easily avoided, condition damage is key to wearing down tougher targets
3: This build plays to the offensive strengths of the class
confusing the **** out of enemies because there’s clones everywhere
extremely high in-combat mobility (sword 3 + swap, Blink, Staff 2)
frequent ability to stealth, and thus avoid damage ( The Prestige, Veil, Decoy, Mass Invis)
two stunbreaks to get the kitten out of damage (stuck in AOE? pop decoy, F4 and be out!)
double shatter trait is an “OH SH**” button (F4 and Sword 2 save lives)
You’ll be quick to note that I don’t have any condition cleansing, and limited regen in battle. this is true.
I also come packing with 45% + chance to critical
With my sigils, I’m applying AOE torment in a 180 unit radius every third hit.
My F1 shatter skill has kitten chance to critical
With Bloodlust sigil stacks, and Applied Strength (WvW trait) I’ve seen critical hits with F1 go as high as 2500 damage per clone.
This in conjunction with Illusionary Persona means that this build has a potential damage output of 10k on F1 shatter + 4 stacks of confusion from the new Illusion trait tree re-work.
With Applied Fortitude stacks, I have approximately 23k HP which is very good considering the armor that I selected for this build.
I like this build because I have the oomph to bring down highly evasive targets, while being evasive enough to not get completely loaded with conditions. The Condi duration reduction food helps a ton, since I don’t have a consistent way to remove conditions with this build. For the most part I rely on the high evasion of the Mesmer class to avoid conditions.
If you want, you can use a Pistol offhand – I run this build in PvP (I win about 65% of 1v1s) with the Strength Runes and the pistol offhand, since Torch has underwhelming damage.
I think that you would do well to try out a blend of Valk and Cavalier armors – they’ll give you a nice level of damage and the vitality and toughness that you’ll want to be more survivable.
If you’re going to lean one way or another, go more heavily into valk gear, because your utility nourishment like sharpening stones, maintenance oils and such will all scale with the vitality stats in the valk gear.
I think that being a supportish staff ele will affect how you drive –
you will tend kite more, instead of directing damage with your pin the way heavy armor class commanders will.
On aura sharing – Matt is right, I don’t NEED aura sharing, but I like it. Shocking Aura especially is very good when it’s spread to allies, and each ally that is affected by the stunning aura will likely stun one or more enemies. It’s effectively adding another earthshaker (or 5 if you’re lucky) to the mix. Also, with Zephyr’s Boon, you’re also giving those people swiftness and fury.
You can go into the Earth traits for the Armor of Earth and the extra stability – but I don’t think it’s necessary because you have guardians to keep you moving. ( This ONLY applies if you’re commanding)
however -
If you do not have reliable elementalists in your zerg who can give you the fields that you need when you need them….
you will need to use staff to get the fields you need, where you need them.
Here’s my commander Ele build.
Since you’re driving the hammer train, you really need the soldiers gear.
I have the melandru runes to improve sustain,
Zephyr’s Boon for perma swiftness and fury
You could do the 0/0/4/4/6 build that mattmatt mentions above, but I personally like having the stun aura with aura shares – but that is a playstyle difference. they’re both effective.
well, plug for IoJ incoming!
IoJ is without a doubt one of the nicest and most open communities out there, with no significant drama at the moment. We don’t tolerate trolling, griefing, or bad sportsmanship. We don’t rely on a few popular pugmanders or 1-2 WvW guilds to carry the server (having suffered from this mistake twice). We boast a variety of guilds and commanders, casual and hardcore, who come out every day.
we (like many other servers) have
Server-wide Teamspeak and forums
Server-wide siege donation drives
Weekly militia training sessions
Fun WvW side-events (Thursday night quaggan raids, commander zergs, etc.)
Large pug population eager to learn and improve
Hardcore WvW guilds who communicate effectively and work well together
No queues (even on reset, the longest queues are 3-4 people unless there’s a surge to defend something)
No drama
One of the most stable and tight-knit communities to date
We are have strong presence in EU and OCX. Our NA is good as well, but less so compared to the servers we’re facing.
We also boast a variety of WvW guilds, whether you’re interested in zergbusting and GvG, defensive play and roaming, and in a variety of timezones!
/endplug
I watched some 20-25 PR take apart a stormblob last night. was pretty epic. Bump and thumbs up for this guild! Good people, great driver. Much fun, such loot.
thumbs up and a bump for this guild. They’re a fun group and they kick huge booty up and down the road.
That’s a good option too, but I was thinking that it would be a trait, could call it Scanning or Eagle Eye or something,
Would be more useful if say
- An enemy zerg is charging you, and they start chaining mass invis and do something unpredictable, like charge at a 90 degree angle from you to make a flanking strike -
and the rangers can see that happening and inform the commander that a flank is incoming.
With rangers at the moment, they don’t have a defined purpose in WvW. They’re great roamers, defenders, and golem pilots. However – I think that one simple change could make a huge difference, and give rangers a critical role in WvW.
Rangers are hunters, trackers, and conceptually, a very interesting class which resonates with many players – however, their lore as trackers and hunters does not extend into the game in WvW.
Getting to the point -
Give or adjust a grandmaster trait so that Rangers can see through stealth.
this would give rangers a very useful utility, for small groups, they’ll be able to spot the thieves and mesmers who give many people huge headaches.
They would have more utility in larger groups as well.
each blast gives 15 seconds of swiftness to 5 people standing in the field.
When you don’t have the warriors to warhorn everyone along, this is the trick to keeping your zerg from lining out.
Asura – They’re extra-good in Spvp because most people dont recognize all of the cast animations that Asuran Eles use, since they’re different from the other races
Any other Fresh air videos?
loos is right, but for reference, you want to transfer on the day that WvW resets, before the reset occurs to minimize your lockout time.
Hey Eles,
Wondering if anyone has, or knows of epic Fresh Air ele videos. I’ve been trying to find them on youtube, but I have not had much success.
I haven’t yet mastered Fresh Air, and some visual help would go a million miles for me!
thanks in advance!
865+ ranks – 1 weapon box 1 armor box. magi and celestial stats.
Last night we were bored, so we were ramming the Grub in EBG. who would have guessed that the flame rams don’t really hurt the grub?!
I’m impressed that no one from NSP listed Birdsong… I can say he’s at least entertaining on the forums.
You’re making a pony cry for not listing Birdsong.
agreed.
I was playing in EOTM for two hours yesterday. at the end i was so bored and tired that i took a nap. even frostgorge doesn’t do that to me
Okay,
So i did some fiddling with stuff and I seem to have figured out a fix with the drum- No idea why it worked this way for me though.
For whatever reason, when I had Sound Quality at the middle stage of the slider or below, I could only barely hear the bass tones of the drum. I had to change the setting of the Sound Quality Slider in order to hear the drum
@OP <—- referring to Original Poster
Hello,
I can’t hear the drum. I thought it was just my sucking at playing the drum, but then i put on a pre-recorded loop, and I still cant hear it.
I’ve got player instrument volume up to max, and i can hear the dude with the trumpet next to me.
@OP, go play DOTA 2, LoL, or HoN then you’ll see a toxic community.
At least GW2 has trolls who are just trying to have some good-spirited trolling fun. They’re just bored at work and reading stuff on the forum
(edited by Hamster.4861)
+1 I hadn’t even thought of this.
this isn’t perfect but its a start.
Gear really needs to be changed from Rabid, since you have a power build there. Other than that, swapping Path of Midnight for Vital Persistence is a good move. Might be worth swapping from Well of Suffering to Well of Corruption. Less damage, but valuable boon conversion.
Knights Gear instead perhaps? since this is a power build which really hinges on the death shroud crit trait
this isn’t perfect but its a start.
3 hr siege decay timer!
I have an easy fix.
dont give any tournament rewards out.
(why would you leave if you have nothing to gain?)
WvW isnt horrid.
It’s fabulous. As someone who has put an enormous amount of time and effort into training my PVX (still mostly PvE) guild to WvW,
We can step into WvW at any time and have a blast, whether we’re getting double teamed and we hold NOTHING, or we’re blowing out our competition because they can’t keep up with our coverage.
(I’ll leave this video here as an example : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejSehLVDJes
If you and your guildies/friends could play like the team in the video above, you’ll never be bored with what WvW (and EoTM for those stale weeks) has to offer.
I’ll address some of your points:
Blow out matches: are only boring if you’re winning.
double teaming: There’s just an abundance of targets. Option 1: roam with a small team, pick off idiots. Option 2, use AC. step 2. Profit
Stale matchup: challenge yourself by running with smaller zergs (or groups) where you are a more important piece of the group composition, try a 5v15.
By all accounts, there’s dozens of things that you can do to spice up your matchup. Try getting 8 thieves together (and in voip) and go destroy some havok teams.
run a naked zerg – you can only wear gear you pick up.
try to get a zerg of 100% asura. that kitten looks hilarious.
be creative. stop the QQ
Mesmer is hardest at low levels – if you tough it out and level up without taking shortcuts, you will have a very good feel for the class.
It gets easier at lvl 50 when you start doing more damage.
for PvE i’d recommend Sword/Pistol + GS for damage. your phantasms can do most of your damage, and when your enemies are at 50-40% life, land a 3 clone/phantasm shatter to drop them.
no trinity plz.
k thx bai
