Have No Faith In Me.1840

Are getting worse and worse.

I’m usually not one to complain about lag, it happens, but this is getting ridiculous, its been pretty much 24/7 for the last few weeks. It is notably worse at 1 am server time, being 7 pm AusEST.

I’m not talking about skill lag in WvW, thats an entirely different issue.

I’m talking about rubber banding, incredibly slow skill use, movement skills not allowing you to go as far as they are meant to, and objects and yourself teleporting.

If I use Savage Leap or Rush or Swoop (Any movement skills), If I am not going the full distance due to lag, that is GAME BREAKING. Especially in PvP and WvW.

Making up some numbers for a second:
Lets say that Savage Leap goes a distance of 10, with swiftness while in combat.
With this incredible lag it only goes a distance of 5, instead of 10.
Not to mention most of the time your character starts glitch teleporting in the air, effectively immobilizing yourself.
It is a huge problem.

THIS IS A TOP PRIORITY THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED. BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE.

It makes playing WvW redundant, you HAVE to zerg, HAVE to use a ranged weapon with auto target enabled, and even then its a chore trying to hit teleporting targets.

And no, it is not a problem on my side.

Yeah, if it wasn’t for Dulfy you all would have to actually play the game or worse (GASP!), search for things!

The problem is there is no information in the game to get you started. And that is why Dulfy becomes the go to for info.

Invest in:
- One of the 3: Soldier gear, Sentinel gear, or Celestial gear.

Why celestial gear? Since you cannot crit a boss, and with the way condition stacking currently works, you’d only be able to use the power part of it for damage…and that’s very low.

Soldier is listed first for a reason :p Those are back ups, celestial still survives and provides decent heal support if you happen to have it so it shouldn’t be ruled out.

Edited first post to say preferred.

- Superior Sigil of Bloodlust (Get 25 stacks before Teq comes)
- Food/nourishment items that give power (Sharpening stones or potion of undead slaying, dragonfly cupcake, plate of steak and asparagus, etc)

Zerg:
- Range not melee
- Stack in one (or two) locations
- Jump before the waves are near you
- Use support like shout heals and Empower

Turrets:
- use 2 on teq whenever recharge is done
- 3/4/5 on the zergball(s) whenever possible
- 1 on Teqs head when the rest is recharging.

And there you have it. Teq is dead.

Hes not hard. It is just that more than half the server is wearing useless gear, isn’t using bloodlust sigil, isnt using food/nourishment, and doesn’t know how to press space bar.

Its a raid style boss with PUGs, of course it is going to take a while, if ever, to complete.

Fiery rush, exploit? bug? or Feature?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Have No Faith In Me.1840

Have No Faith In Me.1840

The use of bear form and fiery rush is so situational and trivial it is pretty much not viable.

For the most part, it will get your party wiped. Sure there are a few places where it is easier to pull off, but that accounts for let’s say, 0.01% of all monster spawns in the game.

- using Bear Form leaves you without utilities
- using FGS or Bear Form leaves you without support like guardian hammer
- forcing a lot of dungeon bosses into a wall and stacking on them will get you wiped pretty fast due to the bosses mechanics, and lack of utilities/support.
- CoE/alpha is 100% viable, but that dungeon has always resulted in stacking alpha against a wall, so killing him a little faster due to fiery rush doesn’t even matter, until stacking him gets fixed.

It is more trouble than it is worth.

Let ele’s/people have their fun, it’s not breaking the game.

My concern with four leagues is simply that there isn’t enough variety at that point. I could very well be wrong, but we are going to try season 1 this way and then we’ll take a look at how it played out.

Bannish to wall —>Immob --> Charge.
Ele’s get immobs too.

I’d call it a programming oversight… it doesn’t matter what the Cooldowns are or how difficult it might be to reproduce. …infact the more difficult something is to consistently reproduce, the more obvious it should be that it’s no intended, lol

Immobilize doesn’t prevent you from dodge rolling. You will roll in place, and you will get the exact same evasion frames regardless of whether or not you are immobilized. Fiery rush is so short, that one dodge roll -even while immobilized- will negate almost all of it.

Will it get fixed? I hove no doubt that it will.

Will anyone get banned for using it? Absolutely not.

Dodge rolling in immob? Proof please. I have never been able to dodge roll inside immob, without a utility or weapon skill that “evades” like thief and ranger shortbow, or thief utility etc.

Could not agree more however, you didn’t know? Anet WvW devs aren’t allowed to have good ideas. WvW is only used as leverage to create more server transfers and gem sales.

WvW business model:

A) break the game
B) sell the solution in gem store
C) tell us how we should feel about it
D) repeat

And that why no one plays wvw any more right? Please you know nothing.

Any way 4 leagues may be too much of a brake down ppl are going on about how 3 in EU is too much and they only have 3 more worlds then NA so i am not sure if 4 is a good idea.

People lose jobs, money, homes, family and lives from gambling, doesn’t stop them from gambling.

Will LS ever be about GW lore or Tyria?

in Living World

Posted by: Have No Faith In Me.1840

Have No Faith In Me.1840

From the start, the “Living Story” should of been focused on GW Lore, Tyria and the story we we’re given in GW2. Not temporary content that has nothing to do with the game, each other, or Tyria. The title “Random Story” feels a lot more appropriate than “Living Story”.

Without an expansion to release some absolutely epic content that has something to do with GW Lore and Tyria, I don’t see any hope of meaningful content ever being implemented, and it is truly appalling to see great potential going to waste on the “Random Story”.

  • End of the GW2 story missions has T-dog start to cleanse the corruption of Orr.

Nothing has happened since then. Orr has not changed even by 1 pixel. Why hasn’t Orr slowly began to slowly transform into something new and regenerated?

You would think the LIVING STORY which promised to change the landscape of Tyria would actually do something like slowly regenerate parts of Orr every few days or weeks, where after a few months or half a year it is a completely different place.

Simple idea: Split the Orr maps into 2 zones: 1 for people who have completed the story missions, 1 for those who haven’t. Once the story is completed, players can witness the regeneration of Orr.

  • The location of Glint’s baby is still unknown.

Pretty self explanatory and a huge part of GW lore.

  • The crystal desert is still an out of reach place, full of threats, yet has no impact on Tyria/The Game.

Also pretty self explanatory, we have parties and elections and all kinds of fancy stuff in LA, while the threat of the Elder Dragons is completely ignored and has no impact on the game. (PS they’ll need to be a lot more threatening than the laughable way Zhaitan was implemented (If you ever get back to the Lore of the game))

It has been a year and the other Elder Dragons have done nothing to Tyria.

You say you do not want to make an expansion, but the bi-weekly content does not even touch on the Lore or important things in Tyria, let alone change Tyria (As originally advertised).

- Molten Alliance
- Aetherblades
- Crystal Desert merchants
- Festival in LA
- Rigged Election
- Jennah gets her party face on
- More Molten Alliance and Aetherblades

While I enjoyed those for the most part, I (And every single GW1 player) crave for some actual content that has something to do with the Lore, and that will actually permanently change Tyria. The previous content releases are ill-explained minor happenings, compared to the powerful force that the Living Story truly could be.

The above mentioned content releases:
- Are not a story.
- Do not add on to the GW2 story missions.
- Have nothing in common with each other.
- Have nothing to do with GW Lore.
- Do not permanently change Tyria.

The temporary content is getting old. It has nothing to do with GW, and does not change the landscape of Tyria.

Serious Idea - "Super Legendary"

Have No Faith In Me.1840

Hi Everybody,

I just wanted to say now that everyone and their dogs is getting the Legendary weapons, some people even have many of them, and then everyone else that is too softcore for Legendary is Ascended now, we need a new top tier weapon for the best of the best, it would be the truly elite weapon like what Legendary used to be. There should be some weapon for the true elite that not everybody and their dogs is going to have.

I call it SUPER LEGENDARY class of weapons. Of course the name of the class does not matter, it could be called ASCENDED LEGENDARY or OF THE GODS or MAGIC AMAZING category too, doesn’t matter about that as long as it is an awesome name that shows it is the penultimate elite.

Agree’d with first paragraph, as the density of twilight and sunrise has more than quadrupled in the last 2 weeks.

Second paragraph still kinda had me.

Then I got to here:

only the truly few and elite of all elite can hold

most players will never have any chance to acquire it.

It should be a big effort to get it

For example, it would require not a mere 500 dragonite ore, but 1 million dragonite ore. Just one example. Another example: 5,000 unopened champion loot bags.

And then I stopped reading.

I’m not even going to get into the fact that 100% of the player base can do what you listed very easily.

Because you just called mindless grinding, skill.

And a few weeks ago I was going to rename my charr guardian to Charrnese Farmlegion

But due to no more mf gear his role as main farmer has been downgraded to scarlet invasions only (staff 1 just can’t be matched), so I won’t be using the $10 to rename him :p

I do have some traditional names like Shea Shadowmeld (Human thief), Mjoll the Wolfheart (Norn necro), etc, but I don’t mind goofy names if it is creative.

My rangers river drake is called… Nathan Drake.

I saw Fabulous Charr (if I recall) he was a tier 1 heavy wearing charr, with every dye slot a different contrasting colour… he truly was quite fabulous.

Goofy names like (one I saw today) Yolo The Swag King make me cringe.

Lame teeny bopper ones like ‘iluvyoubebiei’ invoke a rage I only wish I could express without being infracted / temp banned in game.

Some people don’t have that much access to stability.

That’s the beauty of classes complimenting eachother.

That’s also one of the main mechanics behind this game.

Guardians have 2 AoE stability skills.

Guardian uses those skills. You gain stability.

You can also copy your boons to other players (Signet of Inspiration, very powerful), and so can other mesmers. You can stack stuff quite well.

Play as a team.

You’re talking about CC zergs and zerging in general. But then you pretty much talk about playing on your own? “My class doesn’t have a lot/any stability”. You’re in a zerg, compliment each other with your skills, you’re not soloing.

Don’t blame the CC if you’re not going to even try to counter it. (Yes I am a warrior, no I don’t use hammer)

I implore you to find a MMO that does not have any grind, in any form, in any manner, in any way, and report it to these forums. In fact, to every MMO forum that exists. The people need to know about this paradise. If you can’t do it let us know as well.

It is also possible for any person to put a ‘grind’ label on anything. It comes down to personal opinion, no matter how deluded or false.

I could say dungeon armour is a time gated grind. I could say gem store purchases are a time gated grind. Think about it, this whole “issue”/“argument” is ridiculous.

Almost have howler finished. I bought howl for 200 (knew I should have got it 2 weeks ago for 120), and if I choose to finish it tomorrow I’ll need to spend about 90g.

Why did I have to spend so little gold on the materials? Got most of materials from kill drops, chest loot, loot bags from drops, champ boxes, and trading laurels for t6 mats.

You’ll be surprised how little money you can spend to get a legendary, the only real barrier is the precursor.

Champion loot is definitely the way to go, and the suggested locations above are great places.

of course they have problems with it, but players from Australia must have even worse latency and I don’t see people wanting them out of their servers…

You have no idea how frustrating it is to be swinging a sword at someone when you’re standing on top of them, and to see ‘miss’ repeatedly. Or being hit by a melee when they’re chasing you and aren’t near you on your screen. Or that dodge roll on your screen is instant, but only evades 0.5 second or more into the animation you see. Dodging becomes a luck thing in about 30% of non-pve dodge attempts. The delayed dodging also makes it impossible to break a poorly timed stunlock if your stun breakers or stability are down. If we didn’t have invulnerability for one second after being res’d, I think we’d get annihilated even harder :p

It is annoying in wvw, but there’s nothing we can do about it, so we try to adapt, or play ranged so we don’t get ‘miss’ spam when in melee chasing someone, homing leaps/teleports do help this greatly though in terms of getting your server-self near the enemy as well as your client-side-self. Those skills are pretty much necessary to melee in wvw, pvp it isn’t as bad due to having capture points, there is less kiting for the most part. I don’t play thief anymore purely because it is impossible to play melee dagger backstabber with it, when on your screen you’re doing one thing, but your server ghost is doing another. It is a guessing game.

I can almost always tell if I’m fighting an American thief purely from the way they lands hits (especially backstabs) with such consistent ease.

Of course this is just my observation and I do not speak for all players. And sorry for the wall text :p I hope it provides some insight into how we try to adapt in the fight against delay.

I completely agree in regards to allied npcs, especially ones like the destinies edge characters and faction based allies, for a Warmaster, Forgal Kernsson doesn’t fight too impressively. The utterly impressive Gw1 Ai is sorely missed, and to be forgotten eventually.

But it goes hand in hand with enemy Ai/combat, you can’t improve allies without improving enemies.

Enemy combat in general is quite lacking as it doesn’t put much pressure on the player, with the slow rate of attack. If enemies attacked at the same rate as players, at least with auto attack not their other skills, combat would be a lot more engaging, though I think it is a bit late for this all to be implemented into the game, it would be like remaking the game. It could be used in newer content though, the gauntlet showed they are willing to trade big health enemies for strategic, pressure filled fights that are down to the wire, loved it.

^ Disruption can be avoided simply by moving important things (only story missions come to mind) to the location where the towns residents retreat to. If you can’t access it during an attack, well that makes sense, join in until the event is lost or won, or wait another time, it won’t kill you to not do the story mission asap.

Getting a message with a weeks warning wouldn’t have the same feel as a spontaneous or even one hour before type warning. It just couldn’t have things exclusive to that event or a lot of people would miss out. Perhaps server wide rewards for success if there were event exclusive rewards? No reward for failing of course.

Disruption can also be a good thing if it makes the player care about the actions they and others make, consequences for poor decisions be it solo or team should never result in a small win (scarlet invasions, I loved farming, but the rewards that come with failing are just silly).

It would truly make the world feel ‘living’ if it can be pulled off.

Epic idea. I’ve been hoping for stuff like this, especially since the whole ‘outcome of dynamic events will change the world you play in’ has only touched on this in a small scale way, like bandits taking over a ranch.

Even the living story says the game will change. But it isn’t. It’s just adding some random unexplained content that then disappears, without changing anything.

They would have to update the Ai to put pressure on the players instead of Ai combat being so durpy (running past the player when engaging, dropping melee blind fields when being attacked from range) and predictable (big wind up swing or early notice red circles)

I agree with not having enemy forces randomly appear. But if they were to run in from the zone portals, hammer/staff guards could just block them off entirely, so not sure how they can overcome that. Perhaps climb over the walls? Those blocking skills are great strategically (pvp/wvw), but against the Ai they are overpowered.

Of course these town invasions would have to feature many random variable events and attack patterns that never follows a formula, or it would get stale and predictable.

Sure, people wouldn’t be able to access story missions inside, say, the black citadel. But if you lost, the charr would retreat and set up camp outside in a zone or another city, which can be spoken too there (perhaps with slightly different dialogue?)

There is a lot of awesome things these devs have the skills to pull off, they just need to have the courage to go for it. There’s very little consequence in terms of story, dungeons, exploring, events. They’re bringing in consequence with the new tequatl, and it is a great start and can be applied in an infinite amount of ways to the rest of the game.

This kind of stuff can only really be achieved by expansions…. I don’t see it being pulled off by bi weekly updates.

Gw1 combat mode, don’t attack or cast at something, or be attacked or cast at by something, for 10 (I think? It’s been a while) seconds, and you start to regain health slowly, which gets faster the longer you’re out of combat. Getting out of combat is often hard due to snare skills and shadow steps and knockdowns (does not slow you down just by being in combat, only by abilities)

Time based. Great system.

Gw2 combat mode, get blown by a strong gust of wind and you are now rendered to the speed of the average octogenarian. Must move with your walking frame to at least an entire screen away from the breeze, to grow younger and get your athletic days back. Not hard to stay away from the enemy, only hard to get FAR ENOUGH AWAY from the source, the Ai is not threatening or challenging (attacks 5x slower than players do, yet largely uses the same skills???? Very strange).

Distance based. Poor system.

To often I find myself running around stuck in combat mode 20 seconds after the source is dead, or in the case of yellow names objects, out of range, and yell “HOW THE #$%& AM I STILL IN COMBAT????”

Or you know you can start selling stuff now and wit until later to buy luck on the market when all the grinders have given up.

I am one of the grinders buyers :p and I’m doing well I think. I’m up to 125%. Without using the TP this would literally take forever =/ but it is a long term goal I’m enjoying aiming for, haven’t had one in the game for a while so it’s refreshing.

Taking a blowtorch to your enemies…. yeah sure that’s not totally hardcore. /sarcasm

If you wanted twilight, why didn’t you make that instead? Leave incinerator as is.

I don’t understand why people make legendarys they don’t like? I made bolt, and I’ve almost finished howler. If I got ‘the legend’ to drop I’d sure as pie sell it like hotcakes because I think bifrost is stupid.

Make legendarys that appeal to you.
