The only way to see when someone was last active, is by checking the achievement point leaderboards (website) for your guild, hovering over their name, to see when they last earned a point.

Not sure why they sorted ranks by color than actual ranks. Bronze silver gold recruit then move to bronze silver gold invader etc, seeing any legends will then be rare but at least I wont feel like I’m moving backwards from legend to bronze recruit.

Because if the metal tiers were chopping and changing every rank up, in a small cycle like that, it would be really ugly and really confusing, and not provide any useful information at all.

Anyway, I like it the way it is.

The metal tiers are a quick way of distinguishing which enemy has more wvw experience (assuming they’re not a karma trainer). It also allows for the rank list to go to an infinite length if it wanted to.

Without the metal tiers, we’d all be level 120 legends, or we’d be getting a new title every 200 ranks. Invader from 1-199, assaulter from 200-399. Would you prefer that?

Nah, to much of a guessing game like that.

This is an international game and it sucks when someone beats you through PvD, but as fortunes change and populations move around; most of the non-NA teams are migrating to the top tiers.

Without SoS OCX/SEA, you NA lot wouldn’t get much done during NA prime. Or did you forget about us?

Why doesn’t Anet go the route of Elementalist Lightning Surge or whatever.

If the attacks do not hit a target the cooldown is doubled.

Although IMO the range is seriously kittened on Warrior GS. Or they could make the whirl skill like those Nightmare court guys and slow it down like 4X, that would work too…

Rush almost never hits the target (1 target, no cleave) even if you try to. Ride the Lightning hits 100% of the time, AND in AoE.

You’d be punishing the players for TRYING to use the skill to hit someone. Until Rush is finally fixed and turned into a working skill, then maybe a ‘nerf’ like RTL could be in order. But not before the skill is actually fixed so it kittening works.

The skills don’t need to be slowed down, they’re already highly telegraphed and easy to follow/counter. Unlike shadowstep skills which are instant and uncounterble, and forced juke skills that have no casting animation and finish up within 0.25 second.

Ps I love how you even try to compare mobility skills like shadow steps, which are instant and not telegraphed and cannot be countered, to the highly telegraphed land speed skills which can be interrupted, followed with your eyes, followed with your character or hampered with cripple/chill/immobilize. This display of stupidity with that alone is enough to wonder why some people are allowed to breed.

It is unbelievable that people exist in this world with massive tunnel vision problems, while also lacking of problem solving abilities. Oh, and clearly fail at any form of “spot the difference”.

Nice bump. Did you bump it just to say a few completely wrong things? Very well, I’ll teach you.

As I have stated, and even given perfect examples of before, mobility and land speed are not the same thing. Rush is land speed, not mobility. Learn the difference, the only mobility in warriors possession is dodges.

Mobility:
- Shadowstep
- Dodge roll (Including Vigor up times)
- Stealth
- Flanking Strike type skills that move you around (thief S/D for example)

Land speed:
- Swiftness (Or speed signet/trait where applicable)
- Leaps
- Charges

I also like how you said GS can have very high damage. Yep, sure, when you’re versing noobs who stand in 100b.

And you just said GS 5 allows people to contest capture points and revive keep lords? Are you saying it is impossible to do that without GS5? Or as any other class? I hope not, because contesting points is available to every single class, and reviving lords is available to every single class to.

Everyone knows it’s a balancing issue that has to be fixed, if it wasn’t, warriors wouldn’t defend the skill so much

Watch some GW1 GvG to see what skill means, there were some good mesmers/archers arround that time.

ARCHERS? lol… Our class sucks so much that people don’t even remember what we’re actually called.

Sure, rangers were trash in pve, but in pvp good rangers made life a nightmare for their opponents. The interrupts of a mesmer, the pressure of a necro, the armor of a warrior, and the ability to split and defend base easily. Very flexible and strong class in gvg.

Rangers were never trash in GW1 PvE. Played my ranger 60% of game time / GWAMM etc. Rangers were better assassins than assassins, rangers were also better warriors than warriors.

GW2? I don’t touch it for anything.

You’ve missed a tonne of events/quests/content that you will NEVER be able to do.

You’ve missed a tonne of items that you will NEVER be able to obtain.

The biggest flaw in this 2 week temp content idea of theirs, is that people who got bored of the game, come back to find that there isn’t actually anything new for them to do. There is no incentive for people who left the game, to bother picking it up again, because the game is 90% the same as when they left.

As someone who has played since the start till now, the game is almost in the same state as you left it.

2014 is going to be an amazing year for GW2 and the community!

I want to believe this, I really… really, really do.

It’s just so hard to have any kind of faith in this game becoming something I want to play for years to come.

- Lack of quality of life features, ones that have been asked for since day 1
- Lack of bug fixes (Including bugs that have existed from day 1)
- Ignoring legitimate threads in the bug forum, whilst not fixing them
- Ignoring legitimate threads EVERYWHERE in the forums
- Only replying to fluff threads on the forums (Like this one)
- Huge emphasis on the gem store
- Lack of build saving/loading
- Lack of lore / working with established content
- Scarlet instead of the above ^ (sigh..)
- Lack of individual player skill, zerg = win

These are only a few of the disheartening problems we have all experienced with the game, which have not been address, or appear to be worked on. I said QOL features as a general statement, there are A LOT of things that fit under there.

I could make that list A LOT longer.

What I want to know is, what goes on behind the scenes at ANet, besides appearing to have everyone working on scarlet and gem store items? Surely you have a team dedicated to fixing bugs and improving the game in general? Surely?

I beg of you to surprise me this year.

The problem isn’t so much with the necromancer having an abundance of access to the easiest way to play the game (conditions), the problem is the gear.

Conditions don’t need any other stat but condition damage, to work at maximum efficiency.

The “Dire” stat is maximum damage, with maximum tankiness. This is just wrong, by all logic. Adding it to the game was a massive screw up by anet.

Condition damage = place a few debuffs from range (95% of condition damage in the game is on ranged weapons/skills, 5% melee weapons/skills), then kite kite kite reapply, kite kite kite. It is much easier to win with than direct damage as you don’t have to actively play, condition damage is all passive play, the laziest way to play games.

Now combine the ease of play, with the ease of ranged application, with the ease of the “Dire” stat type, with the abundance of ranged condition spam on necros and engis, and you have a huge problem.

Downed a warrior near the bridge between Anza and SM, he used vengeance and thanks to this roaming set up, he made it to the safety of SM.

Funny how you consider being dead “safety”

because he can get ressed inside and then come right back out?

He died and gave away loot/wxp, no problem there.

The real problem I see in his message though, is two things.

One, the warrior died? Must of been bad or greedy.

Two, he was actually able to use vengeance? Why was he not stomped instantly? Bad players all around. L2p get good lift your game etc

The problem in this thread, and all threads like it, is a clear lack of player skill.

I personally don’t play full CC warrior because it is super cheesy. The build annihilates noobs and bad players without any effort.

It is just one of those things where when you die to it once, you need to think about what just happened and how you can improve for next time. Either you learn from the death or you keep dying.

To many people complain about things in this game that can be countered by playing better, instead they just scream for nerfs.

Going to expand on this because some people, even the OP, refuse to lift their game after all the advice people have given.. Oh and if the mega map queue blobs are a problem, leave the T1 servers and join a real server.

Moving left or right of the train

The melee train follows the tag or the driver. You can see the direction the train is moving in long before they get anywhere near you, if you get caught in the highly telegraphed stuns that is your own fault, don’t blame anyone but yourself, you didn’t move, you didn’t bring stability/stun breakers/survival skills.

If you move left or right of the train, they will NEVER suddenly change direction to chase after you, they will keep going in a relatively forward direction, or bombing where called.

Dodging straight through the train

Simple, dodge once or even twice, directly through the middle of the train. You will be behind them, and just like moving left or right of the train, they will NEVER suddenly change direction just to attack you.

At this point you’ll be near their back line, either engage the back line or regroup on your commander, or run away, depends what your role is (class, stats, build, weapons).

If you’re not in your server TS/mumble/vent, you may as well just run away unless you out number them 3:1.

Stability

Every class has access to this.

And don’t even bring up those hilariously bad ‘arguments’ of “my class only has a small amount of X boon”, that’s scrub talk.

This is a team game, not a solo game, other classes can ALWAYS make up for another classes lack of a certain boon. So party up. Get with 1 or 2 guardians and you’re set for stability.

Stay at max range

If you’re a melee zerker, go get better gear/traits for zerg clashes, simple.

As a ranged class, no matter what stats you’re wearing, you should always be staying at max range out of the melee train. If you’re not wearing full zerker, pretend you are, and focus on keeping away from any/all sources of damage.

You can achieve this by kiting/rotating around the outside of the melee train in the opposite direction it is going. If you see the train moving left on your screen, strafe right and maybe back a bit depending on the situation.

Train moving right on your screen? Strafe left.

Keep your distance, and keep dropping your skills/AoE on them. If you’re a thief, continually drop poison fields with your shortbow onto the train, especially when they reset to heal in water fields.

Train made a sudden move in your direction? Be ready to use your survivability skills, every class has them, no matter the cool down, save them for when needed.

Shadow steps, leaps, stability, stun breakers, mist form, plague form, invulnerability, etc, use them wisely, if you waste them that is player error, not any one else’s fault.

Spread out

If the hammer train jumps on a low number of people, or keeps moving to look for a better spot to bomb, you are reducing their effectiveness and damage output.

NEVER USE TURN KEYS, OR CLICK YOUR SKILLS. ALWAYS USE YOUR RIGHT MOUSE TO TURN THE CAMERA/CHARACTER DIRECTION, AND USE SKILLS BY BUTTON PRESS, ASSIGN EASIER TO PRESS KEYS FOR SKILLS 6 7 8 9 0.

It is ridiculous the amount of people I see using turn keys and clicking skills. That’s partly ANets fault for allowing such archaic controls to be in the game, and for no giving any kind of tips/training players that are new to games

L2P, lift your game, get good. Don’t complain if you’re not even going to try play better.

A war in full zerker armor can have 3.2k attack, 3.2k armor 60% crit chance(with fury) 89+ crit dmg 22.5k vit, great regen via hs and great mobility via gs.

Fact, full zerker has 2127 armour.

Show me a screenshot of this 30/30/30/30/30 build that somehow uses 2 sets of armour at the same time.

Anet does a lot of things really well, but no one gets it right the first time. There’s always room for improvement. So, tell me why you think Ascendeds having higher stats than exotics is literally the worst that’s happened to this game. You don’t have to spend the time to get one. To me, it makes sense that ascended items have higher stats than exotics. Ascended just sounds better and higher up than exotic gear.
I’m not trying to argue here, but just explain why you think its bad that ascended items have higher stats than exotics.

Since you started playing GW2 after ascended gear was released, this is why.

Because it is a time gated gear treadmill, which was introduced after release, and the game was NOT supposed to have a gear treadmill.

The game was NOT released with ascended gear, and was never meant to introduce a new tier of gear (see manifesto, see players, see gw2 pre release interviews, see gw1), especially one that is so ridiculously long/hard to obtain.

All of this time gated ascended gear makes playing an alternate character undesirable, because they don’t have optimal gear, and if you want to get optimal gear for them, you have to wait a month or more, per gear set, per character, that is RIDICULOUS. It is impossible to gear all your characters out now. Even collecting a second set of gear stats is a chore, yes, a chore.

Yes, we have all played the game. We know of these things that were there from release day, they might even be the reason we still play.

Now tell me, what good decisions have they made since then? Aside from account magic find, frankly, none. And it keeps on going down hill.

There are still a heap of bugs (over a year old) associated with combat. Combat is the core of the game, fixing any bugs associated with it should always be #1 on the to do list. Sadly in GW2 the cash shop is #1.

WvW population is still a mess, despite players putting forth good ideas to help fix it, no work has been done on it.

They ignore the players requests and keep on adding things no one asked for or really wants. Still waiting on weapon dyes, skin lockers for limited time items and guild halls. Rangers are still a joke, and still require a 30 point trait just to be able to use some of their utilities, no other class requires a trait to use any of their utilities. Still have a lack of quality of life changes and UI improvements.

The fact that an evescirate can hit 10-15K in a single hit makes it more understandable of the animation, does it not? If it was instant you could oneshot thieves, which would be very funny hehe, but no, we can’t have that.

While I agree that big hitters should be highly telegraphed (kill shot, eviscerate, earthshaker), there is no equality to this rule, it is only a warrior thing. Just look at backstab. Not that I have issues with thieves or their backstabs, just making a point.

I’ve never missed on bulls charge or the GS5 charge as well, so I wouldn’t call them bugged.

As someone put, if they are running, they are not helping their team in anyway what so ever. But on the flip side, they need their cooldowns increased, much like Ride the Lightning if it misses it’s target.

You obviously don’t play warrior if you’re claiming to NEVER miss with Rush, or be left outside of melee range with Bull’s Charge. Considering Rush swings and misses close to 100% of uses (outside of point blank range), the idea that you know what you’re talking about is laughable.

Give Rush a longer recharge for missing the target? The skill almost never hits a target, that’s possibly the funniest suggestion to a bugged skill I’ve ever seen. Punish the players for TRYING to use a bugged skill properly! Lol!!!

See my thread dedicated to these 2 skills.
In summary, use rush at 900 range on a stationary ambient critter and watch it swing and miss

Also, land speed is not equal to mobility, as stated 500 times by myself and others.

Not 100% sure, but if Anet considers this an exploit, you might be infracted for your post. You might want to delete it.

That’s what I was hoping to check If a forum mod removes it for ‘encouraging/spreading exploits’, they are voices of anet, and it means anet finds it to be an exploit, in which case they would have to fix it.

Since my post wasn’t removed, anet condones this form of unfair play aka cheating.

I was using that combined with Healing spring. If I remember correctly there was a trait that had any pet effect, affecting me as well. That was 7 seconds of immunity to any damage kind.

Can’t remember what the trait is called, but I’m re-installing the game atm so I might soon ;P

It is called Beastmaster Signet, it is a 30 point trait in the Marksmanship (power) trait line.

It is part of the reason why Rangers are such a terrible class.

In order to use their signet skills, Rangers need to waste a big 30 point trait to be able to use them.

No other class REQUIRES traits in order to use any of their skills. Only ranger. It hampers build diversity severely for Rangers.

Being forced into the Power line, and forced to waste a 30 pointer, just to be able to use your skills is absolutely hilarious. This should of been fixed a year ago.

Anet has stated they won’t punish ppl for it.

Because i hate the gw2 camera,i don’t want to use cheats but if this “aspect ratio” change is allowed pls tell me how to do it,i’d like to have more zoom out.

If you have one monitor, open the options, under the resolution settings, set the game to window mode, then grab the bottom of the game window, and drag it up to near the top of your screen to put the game into a ridiculously narrow and impossible to see way, move your camera around as you normally would, and rain hell on enemy siege with arrow carts.

If you have multiple monitors, use a program called Eyefinity. And use it to unleash ultimate arrow cart trolling to your enemies.

I’m just going to point out that league of legends is a rip off of DotA1, which was a rip off of 3 Corridors (3C and DotA 1 were both Warcraft 3 custom maps). If 3 Corridors ripped it’s concept off something else (maybe a StarCraft 1 custom map???), let me know.

So please rename this hilarious thread and all associated names to WvW 3 Corridors and WvW3C for accuracy, your stolen idea is more like 3C than DotA 1 or LoL anyway.

Nice 2 month bump out of no where.

This is ONE BUILD. Designed to run, designed for nothing more.

This build:
- Does low damage
- Has low CC
- Warrior’s as a class have low in-combat mobility (this build is land speed)
- Suffers from bugs (3 second character freeze on weapon switch)
- Sword 2 leap rarely hits the target, read almost never.

- GS 5 ‘rush’ misses the target 98.1337% of the time. It either runs past the target and fails, or attacks at a random space of air, it is a broken piece of garbage.

- Bull’s Charge (if picked) is also bugged, it flies past the target, leaving you outside melee range.

That is 3 skills these warriors have that literally cannot be used to actually hurt the enemy, they are only there for moving distance.

Effectively it is an attrition build, every class has them, every class can beat them.

And still you complain about one low risk low reward build even though it is full of bugs and doesn’t help anyone but themselves.

There are bigger issues plaguing this game than one bug filled troll build. (aside from the plethora of bugs associated with this class that need fixing of course)

The only people that should be complaining about this build, are warriors who are sick of the bugs this class has to endure with every single day because anet won’t devote time to fix them. No other class has to deal with as many (if any) bugs as the warrior.

And to finish this post like a jerk:
L2P, get good, lift your game.

Your reading comprehension needs work. I said Mesmer has incredible in combat mobility, you then said no they don’t (fail, yes they do) and you start talking about something else entirely, a clear sign of reading fail.

You then also went on again to say Mesmer has no in combat mobility. Again, yes, yes they do, please stop failing, they have an untouchable (for full melee warrior) amount of it, and as I said, no full melee warrior (both weapon sets) should ever lose to them.

You then showed your lack of reading ability again, by talking about ranged weapons and necro aoe being able to own mesmers, regardless of myself and others saying FULL MELEE WARRIOR. You even quoted someone saying melee war, and then talked about necros, clearly not understanding.

One more time to sink the truth in. No mesmer should EVER lose to a full melee warrior, unless their house catches fire or some other emergency suddenly arises.

Thief = Stealth, Stealth and More stealth. While in stealth most of them take triats that buff them some of these include – Healing while in stealth, condition removal, 50% movement speed increase, initiative regen, 100% crit chance on first attack from stealth. While they have low health, they spam stealth every 4 seconds, not exactly easy to pin them down.

Warrior just have insane mobility, the kind of mobility that a HEAVY armor class should NOT have. They have high health, high defense skills that make them immune to damage and another that makes them immune to new conditions. They have the most Overpowered Healing Signet in the game, when you consider the fact that hardly any Warrior will actually use the healing Signet and rely on the passive, that says something about the passive…

Thieves are easy to kill (if they don’t stealth and run away in cowardice), because the class by nature attracts all types of bad players.

Even though there will be ‘good’ players that can abuse these gimmick mechanics better than others, I still have no issues against thieves.

Haven’t lost a 1v1 to a thief in a very long time. Zerk, Condi, doesn’t matter. The exception being perplexity thief, in which case I just stand there and /laugh @ a few times on 100% health, press my walk toggle, and walk off into the sunset with them doing pitiful damage until they give up with their cheese runes.

LMAO, assuming all Necros and all Engis are condition builds, neither my Engi or my Necro is condition, hell my Necro doesnt even have ANY condition damage ZERO. So there goes that idea.

As for “L2P” It is so funny people still try to excuse a class being overpowered by blaming it on the player. I am thinking, maybe just maybe if its MORE people saying its too strong than those that are saying its fine (who ARE going to be warriors fearful of the incoming nerf hammer) then maybe it is not a “L2P” thing at all….

It is entirely L2P. If you can’t kite or use your kiting/dodging skills properly instead of wasting them, or even gear up properly, then it is an L2P issue.

More often than not, complaining about a class is L2P. This is L2p. L2p.

It just seems the easiest and most played classes (Thief, Warrior, Mesmer to an extent) are the ones that have it easiest and the sad part is, some of these players are not exactly good, the class they have is what makes them good and the moment you say otherwise they use the same old “L2P” excuse ignoring just how strong their class is.

Ranger has 2nd most population of characters.

L2P issue. Lift your game. Get good or go home.

Warriors have no stealth, no mass evasions, no perma vigor, no skills that force you away from your target, no shadow steps, no blind spam, no clone spam, no every condition under the sun with no recharge, always in eye sight of the enemy, never hidden.

Look at those options, like, actually look at those combat options, and understand that other classes are way better at fighting. L2P issue.

They do what they think is best for the game. And you have to keep in mind that they have WAY more information about what is best for the game than anyone on these forums does.
The people using the forums are after all a minority of the actual player-base and it is very likely that they are gathering information from other sources than the forums alone.

Wrong, forums are the only source of actual player feedback, making it the majority.

Numbers they pull from whoop-de-doo, while useful to some degree, are almost never close to being accurate.

By your logic, people that talk about global warming are a minority, lets ignore them and listen to the oil companies. There is no global warming.

And the leather and light classes are still the fastest inside of combat with their mobility skills.

This seems to be a recent issue, so lets just place it as a screw up from the last patch.

If you try to weapon swap during a channeling skill and attack the game craps bricks. You end up standing there for 3 seconds, unable to move or attack. 3 seconds is a ridiculously long time.

Appears to be a warrior only class bug / burst skill bug. Resulting in a 3 second character freeze on weapon swap.

Example chain: Flurry -> swap -> 100b. Character breaks.

After testing different classes with different channel cancels and combos here are the results.

The bug OCCURS on:
Warrior

The bug does NOT OCCUR on:
Necromancer
Guardian
Ranger
Thief
Elementalist

Does this appear to be a warrior class / class mechanic bug? It is utterly frustrating to be frozen for 3 seconds.

Thank you very much for getting around to fixing the core of the game asap. And bull’s charge and Rush while you’re at it.

Edit: Nope, even if I wait half a second to a second before switching, same 3 second character freeze glitch.

Edit: Holding strafe while weapon swapping allows you to move, but your character runs off in that direction not able to move or attack, then carries out the command in the middle of no where.

Guys, warrior is totally overpowered, I try to melee him and he just dodge rolls with perma vigor, I try and CC him, but he just shadow steps away, he then drops blind fields, and leaps through them to go into stealth permanently. I down him, but shadow refuge magically appears and revives him, wtf warriors are so op. We need to stop warriors from perma dodging with unlimited shadow steps and perma blind perma stealth. Warrior OP. Nerf.

The warrior has no recharge on his attacks, he can spam the same couple of cheesy gimmick skills over and over, anet please, fix the warrior.

/sarcasm, there are bigger issues in this game, like gimmick mechanics being abused to such a ridiculous end.

This match up is a refreshing change of pace.

YB may be the masters of defensive siege.
And SBI may only care about EB, and never defend/play on their borderland.

But at least it’s not omega T1 blob central karma train super blob PvD everything in sight with our superior 100 man pug blob of doom.

AND we have old rivalries with both servers, and we’ve spent too long apart.

You’ve missed the entire point.

The mini games are based in zones that are technically pvp maps, so they share all the same rules as ACTUAL pvp.

You can’t have separate timers, because it simply won’t work.
