I can’t be caught while using my mesmer. I trait for 1200 range 24s CD blink and 4s Decoy and gaining regen/aegis/protection when stealthing. Sometime I run circle around 10-15 man groups to annoy and confuse them. Keep using GS #5 and Focus #4 to keep them away, and use Veil and Mass Invisabillity to enforce your boons and stealth.

It’s only PvE’ers or noobs who whine about this issue, its mainly if you WvW the average amount (a few times a week) you will be able to get it, because things change each week. Transferring server for the sake of world completion is pure lazyness.
Same with legendaries, the PvE’ers who care about one stupid weapon that has same stats as badge gear whinge and whine on about gift of battle for 250 battles.
They way I see it, ANet wants you to do a bit of everything in GW2 to keep it interesting. That is why they used to have WvW kills on monthly.
I still think ANet should have WvW daily/monthly achievements to attract players to go to WvW. (10 badges, 1 ramdom siege for daily) (100 badges, 5 random siege and 50 silver for monthly) Or something like this…
The point is, PvE’ers shouldn’t play this game if they whinge about WvW is too hard to get your Points of Interests and Vista from. All the servers have been everywhere

BG and FA, i sincerely hope you guys pulverize TC into tiny bits of RP’r dust. I’ve never played against a server that constantly complains so much about everything. Needless to say it was a great joy spawn camping them to the extreme ( trebs, ballistas, shame ram trains and barricades). I can trully understand why FA detests TC so much now that i’ve played against them.

Oddly, the first time SOR faced them, i dont recall them being this way.

For exampla,
I took on 3 SoR with my mesmer, alone. (1 ele, 1 mes, 1 guardian) all fought pathetic
3 people took out 5 of your team, finished them, then as always your “ultimately so called AWESOME” zerg of 50 people came and wiped them afterwards.
I hope you guys get stomped so hard in tier 1 you fall to Tier 3, and all your noob players leave so you can become a quallity server for the first time.
Time to log on GW2, and go roaming in SoR BL. I wonder how many I will kill in the JP.

We could dolyak parade again with BG, and if FA dare to come and ruin it, they will get their corpses stomped on until they sink underground.

Trebbing towers from keeps is fine, and trebbing keeps from towers if fine, no probs with that. But SMC to overlook or overlook to SMC shouldn’t work, and Garrison to Bay is the same

EB is far too bunched up I agree, 2 trebs in your home keep can hit all four towers around it, and overlook and SMC can treb each other to death which the towers aren’t needed for that.

Feeling so sad for YB and CD… Even their full forced friendship power has no chance for mags or kains Zergtivity Zergness of Zergs…
For those getting zerged to their death, its like a giant stepping on an ant.
The scoring system on this game is TERRIBLE, if someone finishes at 500k they should go up 6-9 spots or something, so they don’t have to drain all the rating out of every server on their way up. If someone wins at 250k, they should go up a spot or 2. if someone loses by 50k they should go down a place. How hard is that? Why can’t Anet use simple ways instead of, “Oh no, he has to win by 300k to go up one spot, and grind the rating out of the others for 5 weeks straight”. See BG, SoR, IoJ or BG SoR TC, or even TC, CD/YB FA. If this system worked, maybe it could have been FA or lost their people instead of Yak’s Bend, and maybe while kitten stomped 5 times in a row they could have finally gone down, but what is worse about the rating system is T8. It is just getting more and more and more harder for someone to go up, because when someone goes up, the others servers lose rating, and the server goes up, and kicks someone with less rating down.
In simple terms, the rating/ranking system is TERRIBLE.

If anyone thinks that Mag is too zergy, help out the servers that suffered from mag and kaineng’s skyrocketting.
Here is a list of good community fun and caring severrs from all different tiers which may at one point were zergy, but are far from it now due to everyone deserting their homeland.
Crystal Desert T4 – Very organized teamspeak community with many quallity guilds
Yak’s Bend T4 – Fun and enjoyable organized community, great to be on
Ehmry Bay T5 – Low numbers but have very serious and skillful players
Northern Shiverpeaks T6 – Pure NA server with small groups not big zergs
Sorrow’s Furnace T8 – A server that was an inch from being in T5 at one point but Borlis Pass drained them dry, then people left. A great server with good community and numbers but not zergy.

All of these servers have suffered from transfers, but aren’t going to drop like Eredon Terrace, all of them are balanced and are great to be with. SBI and IoJ have lost more then too many, and they can’t be stopped from falling.

So I’m thinking on making a mesmer but unsure what they are really like, I seen a live stream of someone using it and he had full critical on. He was doing massive direct damage, I just want to know your thoughts on what this class is like?

Mesmers are mostly about finding traits you like and linking them together. Because you don’t even get traits until level 11, it starts off very slow. Things open up at level 40 when you can use master traits. Deceptive Evasion is a must have if you ever plan on spamming clones. Anything that lowers the cooldowns for illusions and weapons are great for that too.

This isn’t an easy class to play. You really have to learn when to dodge and what hits to take so you can save your endurance. Your in-battle mobility can be quite high but out-of-battle mobility is lacking, to say the least. If you plan on keeping up with a zerg, you’ll have to use a focus and blink. Sometimes even that isn’t enough because the swiftness from focus doesn’t refresh other swiftness buffs.

The biggest thing is, you’ll have to adopt a mesmer mindset. A lot of powers have “good for me, bad for you,” setups so you’ll need to learn when to use them so you can take advantage of both aspects. For instance, Chaos Storm gives random boons to allies and random conditions to enemies while damaging them. I’ve seen a lot of mesmers focus solely on the damage aspect of it but it is best used when you are close enough to your opponent to cast it over both of you.

If you’re looking to do ridiculous dps or a lot of aoe damage, you’re in the wrong profession. Mesmers are more about disrupting how your opponents think and fight. We have a lot of combo fields, condition-adders, projectile reflection, stealths, in-battle movement powers and we are the best at stacking confusion. Learn them all and then learn to abuse them.

Oh, and you will be expected to have portal. Handle that however you wish.

Last, we have been beaten repeatedly by the nerf bat as devs are under the impression that the class is too powerful. Every patch comes with more nerfs and I shudder to think of the coming one. Some contribute this to other classes whining on pvp forums about how hard it is to kill a mesmer or how some of our abilities are overpowered. Others say they just don’t understand how much work and preparation it takes to do those things. Not many people play mesmers to level 80 so not many understand what it takes to make the class dominate. Also, by design, we are SUPPOSE to be frustrating to deal with! Let us hope that, one day, the devs remember that.

Oh, and we are divas! If you join our ranks, you are expected to wear high-fashon, vastly impractical outfits with lots of ruffles and lace! You will learn to love fuchsia, lavender and butterflies! You are required to be a haughty, pompous jerk whom gets into everyone’s head and under their skin just for the sheer joy of it! If you can’t do that then you are not worthy.

^ Mass invisabillity is great in team battles, use it just as you portal bomb an enemy zerg to get 100% suprise attack.

Favourite Skill: Blurred Frenzy
Does a quick 2-3k damage while granting 2 seconds of invulnerability, use this when the enemy is casting something big. Has a quick cooldown and works great with using #3 on the sword (whatever its called, I forgot :P) first to slow them down.
Most hated Skill: Gsword #3
Rips one boon off anyone in a tiny area, (one person max) and does a small amount of damage, why not just use #1 on the sword to rip a boon off them? no cooldown and same, maybe more damage. Terrible skill needs changing heaps, maybe 300 radius AoE that deals damage and rips boon off enemies over 5 seconds, that would be much better.

They have no burst and hardly any good specs, their SB is terrible compared to thief and warrior bow. Redo all of #2 to #5 please on SB, they just suck.

Necromancer staff owns. Their abilities own. Espically the ones that remove boons off the enemy teams hero. They don’t really have a spike but they can set one up with spectral grasp. Or they can fill space with minions.

Necromancer staff doesn’t have an ability that removes boons from enemies. The one you’re referring to is Putrid Mark and it transfers conditions from allies to enemies. On a 20 seconds CD and seems to be quite inconsistent.

Spectral Grasp pulls and chill 1 target on a 30 second CD. Minions have a terrible AI and should never be used.

Necromancer is probably the weakest profession in WvW at the moment.. Hopefully we get some buffs.

OT: I’d say Guardians are the strongest at the moment. A lot of build diversity, huge amount of support, can also be very bursty if built correctly.

True, I rarely bump into necro’s anymore they are extremely unpopular, and also @Saweth, mesmers have 10 second quickness AoE elite skill, not 5s. What sucks is they have no permo speed signet but others do…

SoR are a tier 1 server, outnumbers us by far, built of some skilled players and others not co-ordinated pugs

Can’t wait finally to beat FA next week after losing to them while I was on CD last week, and losing to them 3 times in a row while on Yaks Bend. If there were 4 way matchups it would be TC, CD, YB vs FA, because FA hates all 3 of those servers. Fort Aspenwood were best buddies with Crystal Desert till they ruined the event, so sad, now a river of lava is between them, and I don’t think they get on good with TC either.

Back on topic, good playing sanctum of rall, apart from your mindless zergs of 50 people, i went around ganking in vista island today SoR BL, you guys are good as, you took out my 2500 power, 1900 vitallity 1700 toughness Mesmer in single 1 vs 1 matches! I was shocked when I lost to a warrior and a ranger. I wish all the people on your server that aren’t in a guild, or talking, and just mindlessly following the zergs would leave, so you guys were back where you were, almost equal to us, and with quality

For team matches, zerg vs zerg, Guardian for support, Elementallist for AoE, Mesmer for big AoE stealth/Timewarp

Get Power/Vit/Toughness gear, and Phantasmal Protector.

Ele’s and mesmers are equal:
Both light armor
Mesmer has crap AoE (Except staff)
Ele has awesome AoE (Staff, Scepter etc.)
Mesmer has more health but is slow
Ele has high speed (RLT, Signet) but lower health
Mesmers have illusions
Ele has invulnerabillty.

Different advantages, but are equal. Well balanced and do NOT need nerfing.

For max mesmer damage and survival, get all power-toughness-vitallity gear, use superior sharpening stones for extra power, and power food, wield a great sword and dual swords, and trait 20/15/0/25/10. I got max attack (3500) and high health and armor.

Only a WvW player sticks to the same boring character because Commander Icon and Siege are souldbound…

As a member of FA I’m a little disappointed in our server right now. Reducing our opponents to 0 ppt because of some forum posts are the exact same bully tactics used by TC that earned them so much of our scorn.

In our defense, it was in response to a merciless killing of a peaceful Dolyak and her merry escorts. Please don’t hate us =(

Yes, that time TC had reason, they were heartbroken of their dolyaks being crushed by FA ballistas, but i do agree, reducing third place to 0 is bullying.
