Ele is OP clearly the only people defending the Ele’s are the Ele players themselves.
Lets see why:
In a Fight
- DPS’s with air and fire, can last for ages due to tons of condition removal, healing on weapon skills, and OP high armor
- Someone is downed, they go in mistform and do their finishing move, which makes the downed person doomed and unable to hit the Ele.
- If the fight goes bad, they mistform and run a fair distance, heal up with weapon skills, go to air and use healing skill + gain swiftness, and take off down the road with RTL and just reset the fight.
Overpowered, they just wear you down unable to be killed.
Need a massive healing/armor nerf.
random smoke aoes are nearly impossible to see and keeps are huge places.
Theres a big red circle to help point it out for you. If you can’t see it and your only argument is “the place is too big!”
Then it’s a L2P issue.
I love it when thief players defend their profession with most ridiculous comparisons and use the term “learn 2 play”.
Stealth is utterly broken, especially in WvWvW. Stealth = unfun for all those who are not using it. WvWvW would be better with the stealth and teleportation mechanisms completely removed or reworked.
GW2 has game mechanisms similar to FPS game. Now imagine a FPS game, where there are several professions. One profession, let’s call it infiltrator, can become invisible when he wants and no enemy action can reveal him from invisibility. Even if infiltrator walks into a cloud of smoke or enters water or enemy makes him bleed like hell, infiltrator is still invisible. And enemy with a rifle cannot even target him. While he is invisible the rifle bullets just don’t hit him even if you guess his exact location. He also does huge damage, his attacks are blindingly fast and he can teleport as well, move 50% faster while being invisible. Then we have another profession, let’s call it soldier, who has better armor, higher health, but his high damage attacks are slowly telegraphed and very easily dodged. Would this game be balanced? Hell NO.

In other games (WoW, Warhammer online) thieves could only stealth a once or twice, and LOSE THEIR STEALTH WHEN ATTACKED <—- which is a brilliant idea, but I doubt aNet will consider it. Also the 50% speed in stealth is Bull, since they don’t even get slowed for going in stealth.
When thieves are having a bad duel, they use their house, heartseeker leap away, and jog with 50% boost speed, and when they are revealed, they are half a mile down the road.
So basically they can reset the fight anytime they want.
Thieves are overpowered, only mesmers can fight them since they can stealth too, and send their clones in as a decoy for the huge burst damage.
Wait, you guys saying you want to constantly vs. the same servers over and over? I want to fight different servers, learn different tactics, meet new stiles.
Tier 8 NA must be a shocker getting crushed by SF 24/7 but the can’t get out of that hell hole because the rating gap is too large.
I think it is time we had a rating reset, just look at how dull the matches are. I remember the good old times every week was different, should be like that again. Leave the europe ones, theirs is fine but I Strongly thing NA need more attention.

Thieves are still overpowered the same way they used to be, because anet doesnt care, go have some fun.

Roll a Mesmer and have your clones out. Some thieves are stupid and will backstab a clone if you use mirror images or decoy.

Also warriors can crush glass cannon thieves too, they can just keep knocking them around and immobilizing them till they die.

2.1k Toughness I have and I take 7k backstab, 5k steal, 6k cloak n dagger, a fail 3k backstab, then a load of heartseeker. Gee, thats right, 2.1k toughness and I take hits like that… zomg…
Full bunker build.
2.1 Tough and Vit and 2k power, 30% boon duration, 300ish Con damage, 1000 prec, 27300 health.
Traits (basic)
30 into inspir and chaos (for tough and vit)
10 into dueling (I for my 1200 blink)
Utillities:
Blink, A-thievery, decoy, Timewarp.
Weapons:
Staff with Sword and Focus/Pistol

@OP, you don’t know how to use a mesmer. I can take a thief on (who isnt a super ultimate awesome pro) but about 90% of the time I win. I win with using Staff and Greatsword different times mixed with Sword and Pistol.
AoE: Use Greatsword with Sword/Focus. #4 Greatsword fast cripple and AoE 3-4k if you trait correctly. Focus #5 High aoe damage 5-6k if you trait correctly too.
Single Target: Use Pistol or Off and Sword with whatever. Both phantasms do high single target damage if you trait correctly.
Melee: Sword owns. use 3 to cripple the guy, then switch places to immobilize THEN use sword #2. Keep repeating that sequence, it has a small cooldown.
Traits: For high illusional damage: II in dueling, III in domination, 25 points into inspiration, and III into illusions. Not that hard.
Weapons don’t suck on mesmers, you just need skill. Play a ele or thief for noobier style where you can clearly get high damage.
Eagle is better then ranger, the #6 piece bonus on ranger rune doesn’t effect mesmers.
The unkillable mesmer with 2.1k Vitallity and Toughness >:)

When Yaks Bend loses they blame “alliances”, when they win it’s superior organized guilds. Nothing to see here folks.

I tell you what they should do.
We wouldn’t have all this whining about puzzle campers if they weren’t the only way to make badges fast.
Why not make 1 badge from EVERY kill, not 1-2 from 20% chance or whatever, you don’t get much from kills. Puzzles you just have to get to the end of a jumping place and wham bam 3-6 badges at 100% chance.
Drop rate of badges NEEDS to be increased since the puzzles are way faster at getting badges. The no auto-loot is a problem too, I can’t think of all the amounts of badges I left on the battlefield in the zerg fights.

Crystal Desert is actually more on the same playing ground as Ehmry Bay. They aren’t an annoying opponent to fight, we actually seem to enjoy them.
Yak’s Bend has more numbers than us at all times. Right now is our off time and we have outmanned buffs against Yak’s Bend. I have noticed that Yak’s Bend has more playing willing to buy siege than players in Emhry Bay, but I wish siege price wasn’t an issue because this doesn’t really equate to skill. It equates to which server has richer players.
I will say that Yak’s Bend has more players that are skilled in PvP than players in Ehmry Bay, which is a big advantage. Yak’s Bend has players that know how to stability/invulnerability stomp, will send Thieves to gank (or attempt to) players manning siege, etc. Emhry Bay does have a few skilled PvPers, but not enough to compete against Yak’s Bend.
But this is only an issue because of free transfers. All of the wanna-be pro PvPers left to the best servers so now there are servers that are STACKED. Very unfair and shameful for the players who switched just to win. Stacking is pathetic. Free transfers seriously damaged WvW.
It does seem CD has gone downhill in players, as of they were owning T3 then lost it all, and lost to yaks bend. The week after they got their act together and actually won, but lost the next week. Yaks bend does extremely good on the first 48 hours of the week, then either starts losing their points, or stops flying ahead and just continues on at the same level as the others.
I have been WvW’ing on both of those servers for a month or more each, they were awesome, but I left because I didn’t like Yak’s opponents, and I thought CD was game over after everyone left them a month ago.
Yet I would love to come back to one of those, as my experience in T1 is horrible, I can’t go anywhere without running into 5 people.
Ebay I never actually was on, but I played against them many times and have very fewish population but strong well skilled players.
Ignore the trolls if they are whining or boasting, try and have fun.
All 3 of you guys are quality servers, if they brought out free transfers I would be back on one of you 3.

Its funny how only thieves are the ones that say we are noobs when we can’t kill them. Funny that.
Transfer to a server like SF that is owning and will be forever due to the rating system.
Get all your alts and go do all 3 JPs and the EB one. 100 badges a day.
Lol EB whining about going up and facing servers that are better than them? You guys should stay in T4 with this attitude. CD and Yaks are equal in strenth and are much more organised servers. Tough luck. Its what happens when you go up.
Glass cannon wins. No one has 10k backstabs, 8k spammable heartseekers, 7k steals and 7k cloak and dagger.
Thieves are overpowered. Only thieves say they aren’t. A high DPS one can’t be killed because it stealths with combo fields every 3 seconds when revealed debuff is off.
All you need is, your house skill, unstopable escape from battle ability, can’t aoe the house enough to kill them in time (house is 4 seconds only), blinding powder (stealth and blind) Dagger/Pistol #5 and #2 for stealth, Pistol/Dagger, #5 for stealth. Trait for more initiative, more stealth duration, and thats it. Stealth, hit, Stealth, hit, Stealth, hit, Stealth, hit. And don’t say we suck. There were 2 of our thieves, a guardian, a warrior, a mesmer and a ranger trying to stop him but he got us down and took us out with the “Finisher move in stealth” thing which is STILL not fixed, and we can’t get to the player and res him intime in 3 seconds for a finisher in stealth.
Fix:
Combo field stealths
Double thief stealth cooldowns
Increase house stay-inside duration
Make it that you cant finish off someone in stealth or mist form
Reveal stealthed players when they are hit
These are top most bugs, or just plain stupid things which aren’t STILL noticed.
Anet, I hope you fix this in the next major patch, at least some of them anyways.

Great. I feel so sorry for Tier 8, they get their butt kicked and SF can’t move up, now they had their chance to get away, but now its cancelled and they stay there.
Rating reset was an awesome idea, I thought it would actually happen….
They are a tool to make Mesmers useful to other players. For a decent server, you would be contacting your mesmers telling them when and where to portal the golems/zerg.
Without these, golems could easily be intercepted by ballistas and die immediately.
Positive:
-Making sure people sweep and protect their keep/tower otherwise the mesmer will portal the group in
-Allowing allies to access chests in jumping puzzle, without spending hours getting past the gankers
-Suprise attacking a zerg

Nothing negative about this, maybe your server or team doesn’t use mesmers’ portals properly OP.
Its based on how far you escort it, although they should have rewards than just a “medal picture”

i remember the fight we had while i was on yaks bend. 600-700 points difference at the end. I would come to your server if you got back to where you were before “dominator” of tier 6", perhaps a few friends would too. I remember when your server started dying out, it started with beating AR, then drawing with them, then losing to them by more and more and more….

PS: Question to the Benders (or YB’er), what is the meaning of a /bow after you killed me by the way? I was thinking of adapting it, and have done it a couple of times, but I don’t believe I grasp the meaning of it.
Take it my way, bowing after you kill someone usually means, thanks for the fight, or good try, for example you bow to your opponent that took 5 minutes to kill, its a symbol of respect and sportsmanship

Depends if its projectile reflection (Feedback) or Retaliation.
@OP I recommend stick with phatasms for their heavy damage, use a Greatsword for range and a couple conditions, and sword and focus for high damage.
Phantasm on greatsword does big damage, and focus #5 phantasm is great in pve, because mobs dont move around much.
Go a berserker mesmar and sit at the back and use greatsword and do hell load of damage, while your buds tank the bosses
And yes, Mesmer is far more exciting than Guardian or Warrior, Mes had stealth, Projectile Reflection, the best elite skills, and the butterflies
I think distance max is 3000 orso, can’t be sure, but it is limitted.
Clones should occasionally dodge roll, because if the real Mesmer dodge rolls then you can just go “Right, clones don’t dodge roll, that’s him!”
All your clones should dodge roll whenever the real mesmer dodges.
This would look awesome with 3 clones out. Quadruple dodge rolls.
And it would spawn a clone in a random spot inside of a grid created by all active illusions/player, targetting YOUR target.

In doing PvP ive learned that the mesmer is to overpowered ive seen that they have had atleast 10 illusions out maybe not at once but come on really they get confusion and all these illusions i think they should be downgraded tbh and they also have stealth but they are a good class but just to over powered.
Maybe you just suck epically? Use control T, watch who dodge rolls, and find out who is doesn’t drop like a chip getting stepped.
It is not hard to find the Mesmer between his illusions.
People who complain about mesmers are total gits, when thieves and their 10k backstabs, their 5k heartseekers, there 5k cloak and daggers, their 5k steals, their 3k auto attacks aren’t mentioned.
So mesmers and thieves are both stealthy classes judging by all the abilities, I am just wondering why its much harder for us mesmers with stealth, where we have to trait 30 points to get longer stealth, and thieves automatically get it at 15.
Also ours are much bigger cooldowns and we don’t have a stealth healing skill, which is fair since thieves don’t have elite skills, but ours are way larger cooldowns and we can’t trait for any bonuses in stealth except XII in Chaos. Any reasons why our stealth are not as good as thieves’?
You nubs don’t realise there is a massive 90 second cooldown, much longer than blinding powder and shadow refuge
Glicko rating system sucks for this game, those locked in tiers have to “constantly win” by “this much” to go up. What is really dumb is that you win and you lose a ton of rating because you were “expected” to thrash them. If Red comes first, Green second, Blue third, Red should be green, Green should be blue, Blue goes down to the tier under, and someone else takes red. If Blue first, Red second, Green third, green should drop a whole tier, blue goes up, red becomes blue, loser of the tier above drops.
If Green is first, Red second, Blue third, Green goes up to the next tier, blue goes down a tier, Red goes up to blue. If its Green first, blue second, red third, green goes up, blue stagnates, red goes down.
Basically, who cares if theres a 100 point difference between third and second, bad luck, you have to fight for your place.
This system will make new matches every week, and especially new colours.

Why? whoever dominates their tier is gonna shoot up ahead to first place and kick all the others down, and whoever loses in T1 or T2 has MAJOR consequences.
Even if T1 is really close, you guys will all fall down to the middle, because all the winners will fly above.
However, if T8 is really close, they will all move up to the middle because all the losers will fall under them.
Yeah, boon “icons” should be copied to illusions, but not effects.
They should make clones copy whatever spells you use but do the same crap damage.
Clones should occasionally dodge roll, because if the real Mesmer dodge rolls then you can just go “Right, clones don’t dodge roll, that’s him!”
Also the targetting is a bit revealing for mesmers, if you put a target on him, you can keep track of the real one, and just ignore the clones.
Simple terms, each ability you cast the effect and look is copied, but not the damage, Icons but not effects from boons should be copied, targets should be remove whenever a clone is summoned, and clones should dodge roll every now and then to look real.

I have played Greatsword/Sword & Focus for ages, I have moderate AoE, massive damage, good conditions (Cripple, Immobilize, Vulnerabillty and Knockback), and I can’t be beaten in duels. I buzz around the vista island annoying FA because can’t kill me. #4 on the Greatsword is the best ability, for its 4k damage and 4 second cripple every 5 seconds, PLUS its AoE. #2 on the sword is great melee instant 2-3k and you can’t be hit during them, perfect to use if someone is casting something big. Spam auto-attack on sword to rip boons off foes and stack vulnerability.
I can’t be beaten, I am a fully bunker build mesmer with huge amount of power (2.5k power, 26328 health, 1717 toughness. Also #1 #2 on the sword are AoE, and can hit up to 3 nearby targets, #2 on greatsword is AoE (bounces to others and stacks vulnerability) and #3 on greatsword is AoE deals about 1k damage instantly and removes a boon.
Put simply, if you use rare or exotic invader gear on every piece of armor weapon and trinket with soldier crests, your power is massive with high toughness and vitally, making you hard to kill. Use greatsword and Sword with focus, pistol or sword, for intense damage. Trait 1200 range manipulations, and 30% phantasm damage (10 Domin, 25 inspir), to enforce your damage. Use Blink, Veil and Arcane Thievery as your utilities, and use Moa Morph for instant win (broken) or Mass Invisibility for a good escape.
you complain about veil man? but i see no post on mass invisabillity? mass invisabillity stacks 5 seconds of stealth to all nearby allies with a HUGE 1200 radius.
^ Wait till next week when everyone will be an entirely diff colour.
Right dudes, I have the “unkillable” build.
1. All gear Power/Toughness/Vitallity, (Rare Invader gear or Exotic).
2. Trait for longer range manipulations and quicker recharge on them, and also XII in Chaos.
3. Use Blink, Veil, Decoy, and Mass Invisability.
4. Make sure you are using a Focus and a Greatsword.
= How to play the build =
You can keep 5 or 10 man teams very busy being unable to kill you, since you are gaining additional boons each time you stealth, just run circles around them. Use focus #4 to give you swiftness then a couple seconds later use it to pull your enemies into it. Use Gsword #5 to keep the enemies away from you, whilst blinking if you get immobilized, (any other disables use Decoy). If they are rapidly catching up to you use Gsword #4 (without turning around) to cripple them for a bit, and use Gsword #3 to rip swiftnesses off them.
