OP you are an impudent fool.
Mesmers are OP how so? Their blocks except shield all suck, lowering their mitigation, their condi removal relies on wasting a whole traitline, or your healing skill and a utility slot, and that may still not be enough, their standard power DPS is trash atm, half of their offhands are trash, the only thing they have going for them is portal and mobility, with some condition pressure and strong elites. They aren’t bad but they certainly aren’t amazing.

Our elite skills….ICD on cleansing water is possibly the worst suggestion ever seen, they done that already in the past and the profession got directly into the trash bin for 1 year+.
Attunement swap, every single regen application…everything synergy with that single trait.It removes a single condition therefore it needs to have fast access to it, as conditions get applied in groups and not one at time; to ask for an ICD is simply not feasible, this in not pre-launch GW2, this is 2016 and the ICD on cleansing water did not work in 2013 when conditions where not even close to be as broken as now and we didn’t have condi rev, scrapper, druid, reaper, condi shatter chronomancer etc etc
You need multiple regen applications to remove the groups of condis that get applied to the ele with an AA speed, loads of fast clicking , attunements rotations
And geomancer’s training like …what? All this fuss because ele can have a single instance of invulnerability every 33s?
Do you even play other professions like herald and scrapper or dragon hunter? chronomancer shield?
Do you even see anything that resemble dmg avoidance/negation on ele as strong as other professions……that is not straight down healing?
Don’t take it personally but…it’s difficult for me to take seriously anybody who claim that obsidian flesh and geomancer’s training(trait that reduce CD of it) are OP.
In terms of dmg avoidance, on a scale from 1 to 10….ele is at 1 where other professions go from 7 to 10For well over 80% of any fight ele will face tank dmg that you like it or not and in a game where a herald can block for days with shield/sword, CC/stun you with staff, absorb all inc dmg; a scrapper that can go stealth travelling all map from A to B with no problems, block every 16s, more blocks on hammer, reflect, CC lock you etc etc etc etc; where a chronomancer can block chain, distortion, stealth, clone spamming and druid ane ect ect
In a game like this…for a single instance that ele can avoid face tanking dmg for a brief 4s, to consider it OP…it’s madness…I rest my case, can’t go further than this but seriously are we even playing the same game or league division (I’m diamond)?
*P.S and in wvw I go only d/w for everything from zerg fights to roaming and with warhorn other than dodges and healing you can’t avoid dmg
Yes, I can grasp your point but that’s your opinion, I have 2k hours in pvp of ele and have tried every build out, and know it inside out. I also am aware of the comparison with other classes.
The point is, the things that need buffing are far more important than those I suggested which could be OP. Nothing should be nerfed until it gets some major buffing, it’s in a stupid place having to rely on cleric amulet to survive 1vX. mendors and sage are okay, but you will die alot quicker, especially in 2vs1.
The reason about the focus earth and its traits are because they’re far superior to any other weapon “(only focus)” perhaps the other offhands should be reworked instead of nerfing focus, because they aren’t at all as easy to use as a focus, with on demand cleanse and invulnerability almost every time and every second time you swap to earth.
What I don’t get is that they already made reaper super OP and give it more booncorrupts aka ‘ele eating weapons’, so why did they have to remove celestial as well? the current reaper would be able to put an awful amount of pressure upon cele eles.

Add cleanse to weapons. Staff. maybe give scepter some transfers. Improved focus, there’s many options here.

It’s like 2015 turret engineer… Low skill, high reward. Yes it can be beaten, but it takes more effort than it should. Boons are just gasoline and necros are the fuse, and in some cases it’s better to not use boons at all, which is how it shouldn’t be.
Just take off the unnecessary auto attack scepter buff, increase cool down on CB a bit and change chill to scale more like burning.
It’s horrible and tedious but it progresses. I find lost pips super easy to get back, so it’s always progressing in the end. On Saturday I almost hit tier 4 then fell down to mid tier 2 due to losing streak of 5. After that I won 5 games in a row and sailed into 4th tier. Sunday I spent all day climbing 4th tier and some of 5th ugh… Monday I only played a few hours but made it to t6 then lost 2 games, won 1, lost 2, won 1 serveral times and rage quit for the night, at tier 5 2 pips. Today I played for less than 2 hours and hit diamond on a win streak of 5.
The point is, if you find yourself on a lose streak, wait until tomorrow, try a different class that you’re good with, and you should get those back plus more. Losing 3 games then winning 3 is straight away 2pip profit.
Yes, it varies due to player skill, mine would be not professional but well above average. If you can win 55% or more you’ll get legend in just a matter of time. In this current system don’t go anymore than a DuoQ. A ruby trio will fight a full team of diamond pugs, with rubies on their team.
How to avoid massive losing streaks, losing days worth of progress
- don’t blame your team constantly, too many people do that and fail to realose realise errors that they make themselves. Examine your actions in the game and ask yourself why you lost. If you lose 5 in a row, chances are, it’s not just bad teams, you are repeating mistakes. If you are going to constantly spam caps in team chat and judge people based on single mistakes or just different actions they make, you are the bad one who everyone laughs at. I see so many of these players and it’s just awful.
- don’t keep playing and playing after losing several times. You may just be on at the wrong time with the wrong people. After 3 losses, call it a night or at least break for a few hours, and see how it goes next time.
- try different classes, if you only play one and have no confidence in anything else, you aren’t ready for ranked beyond sapphire.
- play during a different time zone, with different people.
Last season ruby was far worse than diamond, it’s still too early to tell if it’s the same here. But I don’t think it can be worse.

Half of ele damage comes from condis and Cleric amulet will half eles dmg via condi so add another +25% to your statement on cele dmg
Mesmer was in this situation but they got some free GM traits, would be cool if ele had it too, and more hp

Dont worry too much mesmers, ele lost their cele amulet, energy sigil and their diamond skin. Youre not in as quite a bad of boat as you could be.

The main issue is that ele healing abilities scale far too much on healing power, renderring it to be a compulsory stat for any sustain build If you could improve the base healing power and reduce the scaling, that’d be a step in the right direction. HOWEVER lets run over the OTHER issues:

Big disappointment anet. Scepter autoattacks will remain garbage, why did I even make meteorlogicus… Scepter mes got about the same attention, one trait got the tiniest improvement.

S/F is really underpowered, here’s why
Scepter
Fire auto – double the damage, reduce the cast time, reduce burn duration if needed.
Fire 2 – Reduce hit delay by 33%
Fire 3 – +50% damage, increase its movement speed.
Water auto – double the damage.
Water 2 – Quadripple the damage, double the vulnerability, set cooldown to 10s
Water 3 – Reduce cast time, grant it ‘unblockable’.
Earth auto – double the damage, reduce the cast time.
Earth 2 – reduce cast time, reduce cooldown, fix bug that sets it full cd if used out of range
Earth 3 – reduce cast time
Air auto – +50% damage
Air 2 – +33% damage
Focus
Fire 4 – 10x the damage
Fire 5 – reduce cooldown by 15s at least
Air 5 – reduce cast time, reduce cooldown
Water 4 – double chill duration, reduce cast time
Wahorn
Fire 5 – double the burning duration, double the damage, make firefields appear faster
Air 4 – make this actually unblockable as it says, revenants are blocking this skill.
Air 5 – double the damage
Water 5 – make this pulse condition cleanse as well, reduce its duration by 1 second.
Earth 4 & 5 – Reduce cast time
Ele needs healing power to sustain properly otherwise it’ll be worn down.
aNet are rushing to nerf mesmer far too quickly, without even looking at all the flaws it has already. If you are going to greatly nerf Chaos Armor and Alacrity, you should buff some of the terrible things in addition, more than 5% improvement on scepter trait…

So I have been a pvper since 2013 and loved it, but right now, this league thing has been extremely horrible. It’s no fun at all with this bunker nonsense, but at least I could win with mesmer and ele, my main professions since 2013. After achieving my wings, the amount of grind it took, I never want to come back. After seeing this balance patch nerfing my favourite class to the ground, and my second one being poorly fixed, it confirms I won’t be coming back until its fixed up. I guess I’ll be PvE’ing for the next 6-12 months until they make major changes, I can tell, the PvP population is going to continue dropping if they don’t balance things up more often, and more efficiently.
Okay so its working with random 1 minute delay spikes and randoms DCs every 2 minutes, a step in the right direction i suppose.
It’s been ages now… You would think they’d fixed it by now… Just sitting here waiting around like an idiot
An hour has elasped. Still kittened. Missed another meta, yay.
Playing from AUS, and having too much connection issues in the past 30 minutes, sometimes it won’t let me log in, other times it lets me log in and won’t let me get past character select. Other times it lets me log in on my character but will load two different areas then become inresponsive and dc me after my boosters tick away for 5 minutes…
Should I just assume anet doesn’t give a rats about us SEA/OCX players and move on or is there something I can do… No problems with any other games or websites, however the GW2 forum is occassionally not responsive either.

Back on topic, apparently the map closed due to the 1 hour-timer thing where you volunteer to leave the map. This map was the most populated because it was succeeding the meta quite easily, thus no reason to close it. This should have cancelled the timer with the rising population, but I guess not.
So I was commanding a successful meta for the Auric Basin meta, as we were near completing my entire squad were all booted to different dead maps. We all worked hard for hours and lost it all, very disappointed with this. This might have not been just my squad, but also the other four groups.
Along with this, there’s a bug where even after completing the meta it claims an Exalted Spirit sacrificed its life, and our rewards are greatly reduced, even though we efficiently complete the meta.
If you’re going to make a patch, at least make it not waste our time. Very disappointed.

Bump. Pips easier to lose than gain now…
It’s pretty bad atm the League system and your advancing through the pips and its relation to MMR, don’t get too obsessed with it, I pretty much gave up soon as I got nowhere in ruby after 8 hours. Anything before ruby should be fine, you will eventually get there, because the tiers are checkpoints which you won’t lose, maybe aim for a tier a day. Those tiers were really easy for me, I was losing heaps in emerald tier 2 with premades and kitten for ages, felt like I was going nowhere.
Then i went solo with a new bunker mesmer build I made. Ended up tier 4 sapphire that night after 8 hours, and ruby in the morning after 3 more hours. Once I got to ruby tho, couldn’t get anywhere at all. MMR had finally caught up with me. I’d get to tier 2 ruby then lose all my pips several times. If Ruby wouldn’t lose tiers, yes I would be still advancing slowly.
Overall to sum up my experience of my story, it’s a very stupid system. Very stupid. Even worse, the meta makes it borrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrring, everyone is using bunker mes, condi rev, bunker scrapper, earth water tempest and others. Lawd. It’s worse than the old turret engi meta. This new pvp season is the worst one ever, massive fail anet.
Wasted time = Didnt have fun?
Technically, video game = wasted time, as you could be doing something more productive.
So, potentially, re-evaluate whether you have fun with pvp, or if winning is the only thing you find “fun”.
At the end of the day, its a game, and its for fun. Relax a bit, and enjoy it.
This current meta, once you are ruby or sapphire, you must play bunker meta or whatever other meta there is for your class to win.
That is what not having fun is, and wasting time. This is the worst PvP has ever been. Massive fail anet.

I know exactly how you feel. 8 hours ago of Ranked, I was at 5 pips on ruby. Now, I have no pips in ruby.

Emerald to ruby in a day solo? If it is true, it means your MMR was really really really low
Had 4k games before that O_O guess I was just lucky. Coincidently, my very few losses were when I just began an emerald or sapphire tier. The other losses gave me pips still.

Minstrels was pure aids the time it was out, if you think bunker chronomancers are bad now, WELL if they had minstrels… OH BOY.
Team PZ are queueing with an alt account of a player who is amber so their matchmaking overall is greatly reduced and they fight easier opponents, and have quicker queue times. When really, they should be fighting much harder opponents.
This is considered an intended exploit of MMR, and is unfair for teams who have to fight them.
Fix the MMR, or fix their team. I don’t want to lose my hard earned pips to this.
Furthermore, why should the number 1 team fight a team of small groups not even on the team leaderboard.
I am very disappointed in Anet for nerfing dungeons. It is now near impossible for us PvPers to get short and sharp gold, so we’re gonna be poor forever.
SW is the only option now. Dungeons were perfectly balanced before, now they suck.
I should consider myself lucky, I only downloaded half the patch and most of its working.
HOWEVER I am tired of the Prologue Story Mode crashing on me when I go to that cinematic after the Amber Sandfall defense…
Eles are amazing what they can do on their own.
If Lightning Reflexes is interrupted, it will be set on full cooldown with granting Vigor, Condition Removal (Traited) or Fury (Traited).
Fix bow attacks to be set on full cd if used out of LoS of the target, For example facing the other way and using it while the target is selected, it won’t fire but will be set to full cd.
Hunter’s shot especially.
I feel that the burn application potential is rediculous for guards especially compared to every other class, they can quite easily hit 12 or 13 in a second or two, and then cause 4-5k dmg per sec, this obviously is out of hand, and everyone knows it is and runs it themselves. A single condi should not do 5k a sec, no matter how much you trait for it. That hits harder than peoples regular burst easy, and plus, you remain a defense.
The damage buffs to greatsword were appropriate however, but no one even plays with that anymore becuase they all join in on the burnnnnnnnnn.
JI should not inflict 3 stacks, that’s just silly, it’s already a huge teleport, gap closer and a stunbreaker, not to mention provides all the medi bonuses. Torch throw is already heavy burst, and applies another 3 stacks, I mean, mesmer’s torch only applies 1 stack, rangers only applies 2 stacks and does nearly no damage, and both of them have a cd the same or longer. This is rediculous. It really limits the build viability for guardians as its far superior to the rest.
Veil is a lie. It is 3 seconds base with 6 seconds on PU. My proof is that I place the curtain and immediately walk through, then it runs out before my stealth does when I have PU on.
PU was fine back in the day when it applied defensive boons with might and swift, and gave one extra second of stealth, now, it’s just kittened. Anet ruined things that were good and made them ugly.
Nerf this burn trash for guards and eles, their application of it and the burn strength itself, and THEN you can nerf mesmers a tad.
