I would bet most of the players that want to remove it completely are those that dont want to spend the money on the set. Simple like that. (while ofc im sure there is a minority with other reasons.)
I have a full exotic MF set with Pirate/Traveler runes and exquisite gems. I still want MF removed because it kittens my EVERYTHING.
The trick is to do the event chain immediately after a server reset and pray to Kormir it won’t bug out.
But yes, bugged Arah has delayed my DM for weeks.

Do you know if your group was composed out of only MF users or just you? The exact reason why it shouldnt exsist. Other people have to pull your weight.
You’re preaching to the choir here. I’m all for removal of MF altogether, but it really doesn’t matter outside fractals. That and the dungeon loot “update” pretty much said “run dungeons in MF gear if you want better loot”.
If there was an inspect option I would not include people with MF gear in dungeons.
Dungeons in general? Not necessary, they’re easy enough as it is. I killed Simin in MF gear.
Fractals? No MF allowed.
The simplest idea is to give players with N pieces of MF gear N special transmutation stones that change the item stats to their liking.
This isn’t even technically correct. Hardware RNG is ubiquitous these days in computing.

Agony at lvl30 is devastating even with 25 AR. Basically if you got hit by anything boss does you are done.
IMHO, some trash fights might be even harder than boss fights – dredge fractal lvl27-29 gave us a blast

While I agree with the new abilities part (hello aoe knockback), artificially tweaking damage and hp variables is a piss poor way to create an illusionary difficulty.
As opposed to ‘natural’ scaling with difficulty level? You’ll hit the brick wall eventually, regardless of agony, high HP/damage or any other means.
What you end up with is a cheap gear check, and chokepointing in build selection. It’s called D3 Inferno mode if you don’t believe me, and it was pure trash on that game too.
This gear check is currently known as “insert ascended gear to continue” and it’s still terrible.
Knockback has a counter, two actually: 1) dont get hit by it 2) stability. While yeah, its a bit OP if trash spams knockback with no cooldown, at least there is a counter. Raw, stupid high damage? Not so much.
Are you suggesting you cannot dodge stupid high damage going your way? Because a hit for any damage becomes 0 damage when it doesn’t hit you.
Agony and ascended gear shouldn’t exist anyway. The proper way to increase difficulty is to increase damage dealt by NPCs and give them new abilities.
(aoe knockback wider than the platform you’re standing on is NOT a good way to do this)

Now, if ectos were dropping as well as comming from savage to lower their price…that might be reasonable. But at 20s+ each we are talking about 50-60g+ and another 50-60g from t6 mats just for an item.
The main problem here is the ecto bottleneck. Everything exotic and up requires ectos in large amounts.
So the simple solution is to make ectos drop as well as increase the salvage rate to guarantee at least 1 ecto from level 80 rares (which are the only rares being farmed now).
You cannot possibly know what Anet intended. Pointless speculation contributes nothing.
Damage meters and gearscore are unnecessary and irrelevant to this thread.

50 ecto for base item, THEN 250 ecto to add 5 agony resist onto it? Not to mention a stack of t6 fine materials. And then, the actual infusion with stats costs you ANOTHER 100 t6 items?

They received hundreds of gold or 25% progression towards their legendary for no effort at all.

The actual solution is to remove gating altogether and let us choose the difficulty instantly, as well as show little tooltips showing the changes between difficulty levels instead of making us waste several hours on clearing faceroll modes.

Yes. I did it on three characters for a chance to get a precursor (which I obviously didn’t get) and to fit my main with 20 slot bags.
No thanks, I carried enough scrubs and horribads in other MMOs due to “epic” 10/25/40 man raids.

The best way to farm with Mesmer is to roll a class that can actually tag.

Whether or not fractal difficulty resets weekly is my question there.
1. Sorry, but as long as you can do the same events for hours and always get the same average drop per greens/blues/rares and materials, i don’t see where the DR is.
But you don’t get the same average drop, that’s the problem.
I never saw personally or heard a guildie complain that no items drop killing something, other then the occasionally 10 minutes of bad luck and porous bones.
Seriously, i personally farmed the same 5-6 mobs for hours and always got the same average loot per 5-10 minutes. Maybe i’m missing something about what people are actually complaining?

2. If you mean you get DR for doing different paths of the same dungeon too quickly, then I’m sure that is a bug, and not an intended feature of the system.

You can farm Orr for hours and not receive a single rare in full MF gear, whereas you’re guaranteed to receive 1.5g from AC.
