I dunno, given how close the ratings points are in EU (aside from the 1 & 2 servers) it makes for some interesting matchups where third spot rotates fairly frequently and even the 1 & 2 spots switch up. Feels like EU has the advantage in balance in comparison.

You have to remember that there were thread upon threads bemoaning the old system until anet finally made this new RNG matchup …. I suspect to shut us all up. The old complaints were about stale predictable matches, or no way to move up because of server stacking (that hasn’t changed and I suspect is about to get worse with the leagues).

That said, I preferred the old matchup system, but I can find fun still in the new one too.

Next patch apparently ranger pets will detect/remove(?) stealth.

10 supply replenishes after 30 seconds at supply camps.

But I think he means even after the enemy flipped Bay, they couldn’t kill him either and gave up. One thief can’t do a heck of a lot vs a Lord and added npcs though. Unless there was a dead Mesmer somewhere.

I just can’t figure out how you can even hit thiefs. They pop out of stealth and if you are super fast you might get them in target and then they just stealth again before you can use any skills. Most of time i am not even fast enough to get them in target.

Does your class have any channeling spells? If so, the minute he pops out of stealth spam it … The channel will follow the thief, hitting him even in stealth, until the spell times out.

what if u dont have aoe or the aoe u got is all target related and btw most of the mesmer weapons require a target, also clones and phantasms. if u are a necro, no problem

Dead thief 90% of the time, especially if trapped in a small zone like inner — and if they leap over the wall to flee? Even better. Other 10% is running away thief.

Drop a stealth trap, stand on top of it (most theives can’t resist coming and trying to gank you — or drop one at a gate, they tend to use those a lot to regen the stealth) and use any of those three listed above in combination = dead thief.

Also remember, as a memser, you can spec yourself to have almost the same equivalent of stealth as a thief. So you can play hours and hours of hide n’ seek.

P.S. The moa thing is mostly just to amuse you, really.

Not saying its a bad idea, I just always think that noone has anything to say about it and that everyone can play how and where they want as a server is noones property.

Hon, you guys left Piken because the queues were 30 minutes long and too much for your guild, and that’s fine. Jumping blindly to a bunch of servers might yield the same results. Nothing to lose by being respectful of future homes, plus it would give you information on things that are important, like for your guild — queue times. Or the natives could be annoyed they weren’t at least talked with first, that they make it their mission to disrupt as many GvGs as possible. If everyone has all the information, there’s less chance of conflict.

GvG community has unfortunately been given a bit of a reputation for being abrasive. Mostly that’s out of frustration, and understandable. But for servers that have no clue about the GvG scene other than idle gossip taken from reading a few forum threads, a brief conversation first could settle a ton of headaches down the line.

You’re absolutely right though. Nobody owns any particular server. But for the natives, there’s a sense of “ownership” and pride unique to each server, regardless of the tier. Taking the time to talk is just the right thing to do.

The only thing I’d love to ask of you guys if you collectively choose some lower tiered servers to coordinate this is have a chat with those server’s leadership before you mass transfer. I’m sure most would be happy with the influx of new blood, but it’s always good to get a green light/ cooperation first. It establishes respect and encourages cooperation.

Meanwhile … as wars are being waged both on the forums and in game, four former enemies took a moment to celebrate with a small picnic on the shores of PSBL.

We met up and flew our kites, the quaggans all coo-ed, they were delighted!

Then we had a big chocolate cake. YUM! And did a bit of sunbathing before we took a dip in the cool waters of the lake. Swimming was fun, Pinky Thief was the best swimmer, even with his little legs.

Finally, we checked out the wildlife, and pet a soft, gentle dolyak. We even did a little dance to sing the praises of this gentle beast.

It was a lovely day and a lovely picnic.

All I can say is … Lol. These guys melt things. When Zudoari was over visiting, they chased him around EB … I’m sure he will be delighted for the renewed challenge (love ya Zud )

Any of you noticing the same wonky numbers issues/queued maps that we saw happening in February? Where there’s a queue for the map, but the number of players on it doesn’t add up?

I think the map queue bug is back again.

If it’s not reliably controllable, what about the buffed team loses 2 players in a 20v20, or one in a 15v15? Or maybe have the GvG website indicate if the team had a buff during the match or did not?

I really really want to know their specs/builds. It’s incredible. We had three guys hammering away on this guy last night, condition stacks/melee etc .. and his health would dip to about 85% and then bloop regen back to 100%, over and over. He even knew he had a pretty special build cos he’d stand there taking a beating and jump up and down and not fight back, just bounce around. The norn version from the same guild was afk when I ran into him, sent off six clones who were all hammering away on him and his health would never dip below 85% — amazing regen build.

I MUST HAVE THIS BUILD!

I don’t play warrior and I didn’t research the build too much, so I can’t tell you the traits, but a large part of your difficulty in killing him may be the fact that he has two active buffs, some stacks of guard killer and possibly max stat gear.

Signet of healing gives him 400hp per second, the trait dogged march gives 33% reduction on cripple chill and immobilize (and the warriors I’ve met seemed to be immune to immobilize) and kiting is not an issue when your greatsword 5th is better then ride the lightning.

Very strong build in smallscale but sucks big time in zergs.

That’s ok Wemil. We had your hills wp’d most of yesterday, then happily traded OL with only a dozen of us last night for Bay, NE tower, NW tower, both southern towers and supply camps on your home BL while your biggest zerg parked on EB.

Yeah, and then people complain about the steamroll/repetitive matches

It’s a little silly. I’d much rather be in a match where the chances for one to beat another are way more volatile and nail biting by the end of the week. Gets me out in WvW every day just to see if my one small effort can flip the tide.

Naw, nobody can replace Ogre. It was his baby, and likely no one can match the level of passion he brought to the shows.

It has to have something to with the last patch. It wasn’t like this last week.

Seafarers and a bunch of EU servers have dedicated sizeable WvW only guilds that have spread themselves out over various servers to ensure good fights, rather than stacking any one server. Most strong WvW servers in EU are medium population. It was done deliberately. SFR has a NA crew …. the only other server with this is Viz. EU WvW players don’t really care about what rank and tier their server is, they just want balance, good fights and its been the community there that has managed that. It also means a rank 6 server can have a reasonable match against the second or third server. They won’t win, but they will get competitive fights. And even then, there are some surprises: Piken jumped from sixth to third spot after beating SFR in tier one last week with sfr/piken/viz match. Of course SFR is back with a vengeance this week

NA has stacked the top tiers. It is what it is. But if players wanted to play the game for the fights, it’s within their power to unstack and make it more competitive. Just have to get rid of the shiny virtual carrot mentality. It’s great to be on a winning server, top of the heap, but when you’re either mind-numbingly steamrolling others or playing the same stale matches every week, you have to understand the power to change that is in your own hands.
