Sorry, this was freakin’ hilarious.
Fergie as in Mike Ferguson maybe? No idea on the other.
if we could all do our best to not get Ogro’s thread locked, that would be great
^ This please.
I’m secretly hoping they use my idea of a massively tall tower in the middle of the lake where the storm event is, that has only one entrance and about 100 steps to get to the top where the orb is .. no way to get there other than pure brute force.
sounds great for the server holding the top
Bag farm haven
Could work either way I figure … the ones who own it set up a billion ACs and park people there to defend. Call goes out to map and there’s a mass run inside by stealth guys to arm siege, meanwhile rest of map comes in from behind and flanks the guys trapped on the stairs.
Conversely, those attacking use map timing and scouts to see where the enemy zerg is, and mass rush the tower when the zerg is on another map or far away.
If they take away the lake entirely, I shall miss it. Some of my best fights have been underwater.

GvG was by far the most iconic feature of GW1, not sure why Anet thought they could just pretend like it never existed when they made GW2. Unless they were going after a completely different audience that just likes running dungeons and chasing carrots… hmmm.
They mentioned during the BWE testing that guild halls would be introduced at some point, and I would imagine they’d offer GvG then too, similar to how it was in GW1. It’s on their radar, just when is not clear.
Oh Niim, wait till they tell you that level 5 golem mastery sprouts 5 mini-golems to attack players/gates/walls, every 60 seconds.
Level 10 causes them to split into two every time you kill one.
With a tiny warning sign that says “DO NOT FEED AFTER MIDNIGHT!” ?
Actually Crystal, the ping/lag is the same as NA.
Also: Veil! Veil! Veeeeeiiiillllll!
*cue uproarious laughter (your server mates comments were the best part of that video for me
)

I like to think I’ve made a big difference in life, with not only my words, but my actions. And I’ve always been polite.
Let me put it another way:
Let’s say I work for X company. I will make it a priority to keep those customers of X company happy. However, with finite resources and time, if I’m being practical I will look at A: what’s making my company more money; and if both are equal then B: who is easier to deal with. Nine times out of 10 I will be more inclined to help out the nicer people making reasonable requests.
And given that WvW makes very little gem store income for Anet, if you throw in people being antagonistic and confrontational … well it’s pretty easy to see where I’d put my time in.

They could always do the “great wall of silence” like most other mmos do, with changes made in game without any communication.
As frustrated as folks may be, there’s really no reason to be abrasive in getting your point accross. None of you know the limitations the team is working with — be it technical, resource-based or just plain man hours.
A more constructive approach would be to make suggestions on where to look for code/upgrade ideas. I know there are a ton of smart people playing this game, be proactive rather than negative. I’m not saying do their job for them, but who knows? Come up with a magical solution they hadn’t considered and maybe you’ll get a job out of it.
Ranting at people is toxic. And in the end, it only really poisons you.
7. How about DAOC style killspam? Just throwing that out there. I know a lot of people that loved it. At the end of the day we all want to be the hero!
Player pride is going to take a hit when it flashes across the screen:
“Bamby has killed Darth Killah”
And then I’ll prance off.
Simple. Reduce map pop size to 60 players per team per map.
The resultant queues will either force stacked servers to spread out to other lower tiered less populated servers in order to play, or people will quit.
Lag is reduced, queues reduced, servers become more competitive instead of top heavy …
Seems to me this would basically encourage zerging more and less on any kind of defensive play. If you take away the ppt, and just give finite points per objective/kills, it amounts to basically the same as it is now, just fewer points overall.
You currently get points for holding objectives. You currently get points for flipping objectives. The only thing you’re adding here is points for killing players really, and taking away the 10 minute mark for calculating recurring points generation. Bigger stacked servers would win by default — simply because they’d wipe smaller numbers over and over again. Not much change from how it is now. Only this idea would increase zerg sizes, not reduce it. Karma tower trains would be rampant. Everyone would just jump on the tower flipping train, steamroll through a map and leave everything undefended (because why bother?), and any kind of strategy would become moot.
Edited to add: On top of that, making player kills count toward overall score would inevitably encourage spawn camping. Players would set up siege at all exit points and just farm points for their server — meaning fewer open field fights and less map mobility. It would kill the game.
No thanks.

The roll is absolutely the same on each.
Wait Devon. Jayne has played in both NA bracket and EU bracket. Her experience matters.
how do you think devons post trivializes jaynes?
with the same roll, tighter rankings = more disparate matches
^This pretty much.
Not exactly sure how any of it is contradictory or trivialized to what Devon said either.
Tighter ranking means higher volatility. Which, as far as I can see, isn’t that big an issue for EU servers, barring a few exceptions. That tighter ranking also means reasonable competitiveness, different opponents on different weeks, with the exception of facing Viz. Most of EU doesn’t complain about this volatility, they just get out there and fight. And that’s likely because the EU guilds haven’t stacked any one server to the extreme it’s been done in NA, so there’s always a reasonable and good fight each week, regardless of server ranking — at least in comparison to NA “tiers.”
(edited by Jayne.9251)
I believe the ratings difference in EU is much closer between the different “tiers” than it is in NA, which equates to greater volatility in matchups due to the variance and RNG.
However, that said, I saw someone post the other day that EU servers between 1-10 (pretty much) can be matched up and have a reasonably decent week/fight because guilds in EU haven’t stacked one server (except Viz) as severely as it has happened in NA.
T1 servers in NA are so severely stacked with players that the difference between T1 and T2 population is significant, same goes for population differences between T2 and T3 — and that population coverage is reflected in the disparity of ratings difference between the NA “tiers.”
That’s not the case in EU, with a few exceptions.
(edited by Jayne.9251)
Well said.
superior tactics
Hahahahaa ….that’s hilarious. I’ve wanted to do something like that forever.
Guys!
I was just inside SFRBL Hills and look what I saw!
EVERYONE TO HILLS FOR ICE CREAM!!!
Waste of time Yaro.

Pages 3-4 kind of gives you insight.
To the adorable little SFR asura from BOOM guild,
You, sir, just made my week <3
That was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen in WvW.
We swam in the water, we had a picnic on the beach … I kept wondering if you were trying to follow me home. I lost you on the garrison watergate steps, hope you got away ok.
You’re lovely
You’re driving along and you see this and think…..
A: nice treb placement
B: those could probably hit SM

Would be a shame to see this thread locked because one guy likes to troll. Ogre has some great stuff in here and there’s been some great conversations.
He may be the resident troll nowadays and spew his nonsense for all the wrong reasons but he has a point. You guys should come here and bring all your good WvW and Nancy guilds. Break free from the ppt and coverage meta, come to EU where we have a fight and fun meta.
I made you a present. Because you’re so lovely.
(With apologies to Ogre
)
(edited by Jayne.9251)
People like a bit of Nancy every now and then!
<3
It will be mildly amusing to me if all the guilds being chastized in this thread for doing GvG decide to say “heck with this” and head to EU where this activity isn’t so frowned upon.
No, the speed boost lasts about five seconds …. And I have it at 4/5 atm … Still find it useful.
It appears to happen with numbers greater than 60ish by all servers involved, which makes sense because the graphics culling was put in to combat lag, etc…. Game works properly and I still see aoe effects with under that number, but gain significant body count and it becomes a big mess —- you can’t see anything to know to react.
Haha, that’s not true. I spend 90% of my time solo roaming/scouting, and that’s usually when I find my lovely 1v1’s and 2v1s
To the OP: WvW is whatever you want to make it. Yes, there are significant blobs everywhere, because for some players it’s easier — and that’s style of play they want. For others, you can find multi-layers of things to do that will challenge you — but it takes time in WvW to suss that out for yourself.
Well I know a number of guilds that would willingly transfer to EU if organized GvG with the bigger names could be arranged.
Been nagging Jericho to come to Piken to face off against you guys like VOTF and SCND … so far not even cookies are working
Would you guys stay up a bit later to face them though? They run PST-time …
agg has siezed #1 NA wooooppiieeee
Congrats, you’re now the best of the worst!
#Signs up after RG quits
Play nice kids.
Congratz Jericho.
Next: Conquer EU.
Wouldn’t it be easier for all the guild interrested in GvG to stay out of tier 1 NA, since it seems those are the most kitten by it?
That’s pretty much how it is in EU. The guilds that want to fight each other are spread out reasonably between different low- and mid-tiered servers.
However, I think if these GvG guilds left for lower tiered servers, those T1 NA servers would feel their departure in resultant ratings loss, since most of these GvG guilds are key in the overall ppt gain to begin with. So, in effect, you’d lose the guilds doing the most work because people were furious about them taking two or three hours out of an entire week to do something that they feel challenges their guild as a whole. Those servers would subsequently drop tiers and the whole thing would repeat itself, except with a different server.
I think the key is tolerance. Everyone plays WvW for different reasons. The minute anyone tries to impose one view over another, there will be pushback .. and fallout.
Appears fixed now. Thanks!
Someone should make a thread in bugs section and link this thread.
It would probably have to go down as low as 60 per server per map to rectify it. Then the queues would be insane.
Mind you, that might force some to go to other servers and spread out the population more in order to get fights ….. Hrm ….
Is it the the new pve content? Where is everyone (SOR included)?
New event stuff I guess. I checked it out a bit earlier from work and we thought WvW blobs were bad? Holy smokes! Our zergs ain’t got nothing on the pve event zergs.
I actually saw some eerie similarities between that new zone and WvW
From the patch notes …
In the open world, dungeons, PvP, and WvW, the new effects-culling system will slowly start reducing the detail of each effect in order to increase combat visibility when many effect types are overlapping.
I worried a bit about WvW when I read that …..

Already logged in on my iPad so I can post to report this, but when I try to log in on my regular computer I enter the password, and the screen reboots asking for login again. Over and over. It won’t allow a login to forums.
You’re not the inventor of words!!! lol
Actually I am, in a way. I make a healthy salary inventing, writing and editing words.
Are you kidding man? Right I do respond rudely to your foolish arguments about how its ok for you guys disturb people people playing the game as intended. If you kids had any consideration for your servers you would limit it to before reset as asked and this thread wouldn’t exist.
I do troll you guys because its fun easy to troll the dim, and apart from this sentence kept it light an airy because I am funky fresh bro.
I’m also curious, since you addressed this post to me, as to where in this thread I advocated GvG. I simply said lumping kill trading and GvG into the same category wasn’t wise. I don’t even personally GvG, (and here’s where I’ll actually give my point of view) but I can appreciate that the guilds who do are typically the ones out there every day getting their server their rating. An hour or three a week doing something that focuses their guild and makes them happy is all good in my books — happy people typically are productive people.
My point above was that you probably had enough readers of this thread at least considering your point of view until you resorted to name-calling and trolling. Now it appears you are just seeking attention, rather than having an adult discussion.
(edited by Jayne.9251)
Not sure why people are still giving this guy attention, when it’s clear that no matter what argument is presented, he’ll just respond rudely. He would have had a valid point to argue if he hadn’t resorted to that — now all I see is troll, troll, troll.
It’s the Internet, you all know how that works, especially on forums. And frankly this thread isn’t worth anyone’s time.
Chests were opened for me, but was still able to loot, and haven’t done the balloon thing yet.

Any idea what the leather worker/torment superior recipe is?
(edited by Jayne.9251)
Yes.
I wonder why the OP left Blackgate, since it appears they are quite unhappy on TC. Better still, they should consider a move to JQ. None of the guilds support GvG apparently.
Engrish??? lol
That’s your response? Really?
Sentence structure reads perfectly fine. And bonus: there’s no misuse of their and there.
Ahhh yes, I see what you mean now …
For some odd reason the minor sigil/rune recipes cost more than the major recipes. I suppose this is a bug?
They do?
