Piken has several italian guilds. You might want to touch base with Ciuffo.6384, or Froscolo (in game). There’s a few others, but I forget the contacts/names unfortunately. Those two could probably fill you in on the status however.

Yep, there’s a ton of thieves on SF. Have never seen so many, lol. And they all travel in packs of fours it seems.

I had a nice little 1v1 going with a SF thief, it went on for quite a bit, and then his three buddies arrived and interrupted our fete. So rude :p Would have liked to seen how that ended on its own course.

My experience when I was back in T1 for that week with TC was that people would attack me, like other posters have said, and then run away. Was a head scratcher to me, cos I’ve died so many times in 1v1s. But y’know what happened? I improved. And now I’m typically the last person standing in big zerg pushes, I can usually manage up to 3v1 on a consistent basis, and my game style improved. That’s the key. Improving. And sometimes you got to face plant a couple of times before that happens.

That said, it’s probably unwise to attack someone first if you are “only running to get to an objective or meet up with your guild,” lol. Cos people are likely to fight back. And honestly attacking then bailing is kind of lame. It’s part of the reason I went back to EU.

Has SFR’s pug quality plummeted in the two months I’ve been gone or something? I remember our players generally being quite good, to the point we could roll in to 30-man zergs with 20 men and just overrun the other side… and that’s just with pugs.

Well …. There was this guy last week….. We watched him and four others use it for a good 10 minutes, too.

Seems every time there’s a major patch we go through a phase of terrible lag.

Tonight in WvW on Piken EU reset (always busy, and always a bit laggy), but tonight I’m seeing the same lag I did back in June with the Frost update. Fifteen seconds to zone through a door, can’t press any skill buttons, etc.

Just letting you guys know the same lag I saw back in June when you tweaked something (and it fixed it) has returned.

It’s a numbers thing. EU has three leagues because it has 27 servers. NA has two leagues because it has 24. Aside from giving NA four leagues of 6, there is no other way to divide up EU without leaving someone out.

Mergers might help, but Devon has said their metrics indicate no need to do that — ie. pve is still robust.

I never moan about lag in game. I will make bug reports, but I never ever complain about lag in WvW threads.

But man. That lag tonight. Horrific. 15 second delay to even go through a door.

I’m not sure what’s changed from last week to this, but even vs SFR and Viz last week it wasn’t even close to this bad.

I would argue minimum two in treb mastery.

A few well placed arrow carts and some like-minded defenders can really throw a wrench into any back room deals.

Lol, I suspect SFR is laying a bit low because they’re afraid of the impending bandwagoners

Not to take away anything from Piken. I think we fight hard no matter the score or server rank. It’s what I’ve come to respect a great deal about this server.

Would be pretty easy. Just add the guys to friends list, then when they log on, go have people sit by the various windmills. If they don’t log on, proof. God knows there are people playing 24/7 in Tier1 to watch for the login.

But you’re right. They could have recently moved. They could have only ventured into WvW specifically to GvG and then left. It’s not conclusive. But it is a little odd.

Ok found Sentinel’s at the guild merchant, but Shaman and Cavalier Ori recipes are others that’s not purchasable … will update with more as I find them.

I’ve gotten garrison wall down by myself, solo running supply x 4 from north supply camp to a cata while there were two 70 man enemy zergs on the map

Have also soloed a tower by trotting a golem up to lake tower.

NA is being divided into two only — top 12 and bottom 12. There will only be two leagues in NA. In EU there will be three leagues. Mid-tier EU would probably be the best bet simply because A: EU is more tolerant/actively has guilds/servers that GvG; and B: NA you’ll get pushback no matter which server you pick. Plus transfer fees, with the exception of a few servers, are MUCH cheaper EU than NA.

The league thing goes for seven weeks. I’m assuming this will be an annual thing? Fall blowout etc?

Move to EU. It happens there but nowhere near as bad as NA.

Let me put it another way: it’s the difference from watching a sports game on tv vs being in the stadium.

The league thing is for seven weeks only. Then it goes back to regular WvW.

As for password protected private GvG stuff, I understand the desire to keep out griefers, but part of my reward to myself for doing 12 hour days in WvW is being able to watch some of these matches live. The community at these events adds to the appeal. Would hate to lose that.

I have two accounts .. one in NA (lower tier) and one in EU. At one point I had both my accounts in NA, one on my original server and another on a way lower tier server so I could get a break from T2/T1 fights on occasion. This would prevent me from playing my accounts. This isn’t a good idea. Just create a support ticket for the trollers and let Anet sort it out. In-game reporting does nothing really, you have to create an actual ticket.

I understand that players actually do abuse the system this way, but your fix would encompass people who don’t and are playing legitimately.

Not really except in Tier 1 they like to brings numbers when they fight you. Half my experiences are something along the lines of:

Find a solid 1v1, 1v2, I’m doing pretty well

Halfway into the fight, another guy comes in, that’s fine, I can handle 3

A minute later – now it’s a 1v10. How did that happen?

Next second I’m on the ground and they’re all /laughing at how bad I am

Yep. This is exactly it. I was so happy to find even 4v1 when I went back a week to see how TC did when it finally hit Tier 1.

The rest of the time, if they didn’t have the nearby zerg (even small one of 10), if they were losing, they’d bail and run away. Even 4v1. Drove me batty.

Solution for everything:

Take all the WvW guilds and GvG guilds and spread them out across about 6 EU servers. You will always have people to play, you will be able to GvG and you’ll have fun.

Just don’t bring that silly ppt game with you.

It’s interesting how EU for the most part has been super conscious of NOT stacking any one server so there’s guaranteed fights. Not sure how everyone managed to coordinate that, but it makes for interesting match weeks.

I spend 90% of my WvW solo roaming. I have played both EU and NA in the higher tiers (and mid tiers on EU up to higher tiers). Here’s what I’ve seen:

- high tier NA relies on numbers for pretty much everything. It’s become rote way of playing so while there are roamers in the higher tiers, they are fewer and far between compared to other server tiers. I have actually had players engage me in a fight in the higher NA tiers, then run away when it appears they are losing, way more often than fighting a lower tier server. It was disappointing, because it happened over and over and over again.

-EU has more roamers. Period. Even in the higher tiers. There are still zergs on maps, but you will find waaaaay more players willing to 1v1 (and if others come upon you during the 1v1 they respect it and leave you to fight), than you will in NA. Bonus: They fight to the death, so you can learn from your mistakes or they can learn from theirs, and improve.

Now the NA WvW climate is slowly changing, starting to emulate/keep pace with EU servers, especially in relaxing about things like GvGs etc… and slowly more people are getting out and roaming to test out their skills, but after spending a week in NA to visit and watching so many high ranked players run away from a fight, I couldn’t wait to get back to EU.
