I thought it was mandatory for all mesmers to be zombies on TC? We’re the Zombie Coast after all.

Also, would be nice if this thread got back on it’s fun track. We were the envy of all tier matchup threads. Now it’s starting to resemble every other thread out there. Knew it was going to happen sooner or later, but personally was hoping for later. Much later.

Also thank you to the Urge fellows. While the guy who did what he did the other day resisted doing it today, I was happy to see a good number of you /bow. I appreciate it.

Nine times out of ten folks get upset about two or three people parked at this invulnerable spot as they stand there facing a team of 10 or more of the enemy. Patience wears thin and so folks start attacking, foolishly .. and then they get mad when they’re killed.

If I was standing at the base of the cliff and I saw 10 or more angry red guys waiting for me to come out, I think I’d play a waiting game, rather than rush in and get instantly killed.

There are ways to counter this situation, but apparently folks don’t want to listen. Build siege. Be patient. They’ll either port to WP or bring some friends .. then you can have the battle you’ve wanted.

While you’re waiting. I repeat. You can build siege to make your job easier. If that particular camp is crucial to your team’s success, then it’s equally foolish to leave it unattended anyhow.

It’s not like anyone doesn’t know how the mechanics work with this. Running and attempting to kill them is just silly.

And to the poster above me .. the invulnerable zone runs pretty much all along the base of that cliff .. that one spot in the photo above is not the only area. And they can only do damage to you and not get hurt in return if you let them. An exploit is something you cannot counter … where with this issue you can.

After you are given five invites you can’t get any more .. might be worth “joining” four random guilds, then just represent your own. When someone tries to send you an invite and you’re already invited to/part of five guilds, they get a message saying they can’t invite you.

They seem to be dropping an awful lot lately in WvW. Don’t know why…. have had reports in our thread alone of people looking in their bags at the end of the day after killing enemies and surprised (and delighted) to find a precursor there.

Yes, we all understand that…but players should not be purposely using this exploit for an advantage.

What advantage? They can’t flip the camp and if you stay far enough away, they can’t kill you. However, you have the advantage of building siege to wipe them pretty easily if they do stick a toe out.

A: be patient. They can’t flip the camp without coming out of the invulnerable zone. Wait them,out or risk losing the camp.

B: while waiting, build a few ballistas. Nothing says “welcome” like a few bolts to the face.

C: you can do the same thing in the other south camp. Every server has this ability on enemy BLs. If you die because of it, that’s pretty silly …. See A:

You may have it set up so it auto procs …. Typically shift + a letter sets that up. Mouse over the spell and read the very bottom line and see if you’ve accidentally keyed it that way ….. That last line (tiny letters) will tell you what keys to press to turn off the auto.

There’s nothing wrong with you. That’s where you need to start.

Next up, find a hobby that’s not online and join a group for it. Get out of your house (as hard as that may feel to do) go there without any expectations other than to enjoy yourself. No immediate who can I be friends with, who can I date …. Just go there for the activity alone. Once others see you enjoying yourself and not being preoccupied with what they think, the rest will fall into place. People can only make you feel crummy if you let them. Don’t empower them, empower yourself.

You might also consider getting weekly therapy to work on issues no one online can help you with, even as much as they may want to. I’d suggest looking for a cognitive therapist (Jung-based) as they tend to be more proactive in approach.

Too many bots were abusing it for karma and gold … They took it out. Bots left.

WvW achievement rewards:

If you run x amount of supply you get a 10% permanent speed buff until you zone out. This is in addition to any other speed buff you currently have.

If you build x amount of siege, you get a 10% discount off the price of siege. You must build it, not just buy it to get the discount.

If you play sentry in one of your towers or keeps,for x amount of time, you get a defensive buff augment until you zone out.

If you escort x amount of dolyaks you get the supply runners speed boost, plus your boost affects your current dolyak.

Do any of these for x amount of days (say 90 hours) and you get a title and all these buffs every time you enter WvW.

Of course except for the last item, all of these things are in effect only while in zone …. Go to another map, start over … Zone out anywhere and come back in, start over…..

OH! I JUST realized …. There’s a certain fellah on Blackgate that owes us a video of him eating a sweat sock!

Edit: Let me amend this .. one person can flip an unguarded supply camp … having just that one extra non-NPC body there can sometimes mean the difference between changing its colour and having it remain.

I’d wager it’s either in WvW or even the PvP maps .. there are several pois in the pvp area in the mists. Another option is to revisit the various orders … there are pois within their orders once you zone in that might have been missed?

Also, I’ve heard of the bug where even if you have visited the Secrets lair, once you zone in again it updates.

yep we have some really nice people here that keep the rest of us in line, by bribing us with cookies, yaks parades and naked zerg swimming around the bay.

As the weeks go on, assuming we’re all still matched up (and I hope we are, because frankly these weeks have been awesome), it will get harder to maintain this upbeat thread banter. I’d like to make it the responsibility of participating servers to wrangle their own cranky-types and remind them it’s just a game and meant to be fun. If you see one of yours wrecking the vibe, send them a PM and some cookies.

I think we’re ok with that. It’s kind of fun that a silly RP server made it to Tier 2 and is still managing to hold its own. It’s a source of pride for us to be honest .. that we can have fun and still be competitive and respectful to our opponents.

You’ll also note the Tier 2 thread has the most views of any other match .. could be cos we’re all a bit nutty and it’s fun to read. I think of it more as we’re setting the bar

That parade was a blast! I think coming together to have fun is what the game was made for in the first place so being creative about it only makes the experience that much more enjoyable.

I equate the yak parade as kind of like running with the bulls…. The first time you do it, at least for me, your heart is pounding like a jackrabbit because you’re running in a sea of red. its a leap of faith in a way. After its over you see your opponents in a new light …. It humanizes us I think.
