Dear BG and Kaineng .. I’ll leave this with you as my final gift … After hearing we were going on vacation to Tier 3 for a short while, we caught our Supreme Commander letting, uh, loose ….
I suspect the same incorrect use of a word.
Haters are going to hate. They just dont understand that we are in a leige of our own and no other server out there is even comparable to us.
You are in a leige of your own because no one else knows what a leige is.
liege
[leej, leezh]
noun
1.
a feudal lord entitled to allegiance and service.
2.
a feudal vassal or subject.
adjective
3.
owing primary allegiance and service to a feudal lord.
4.
pertaining to the relation between a feudal vassal and lord.
5.
loyal; faithful: the liege adherents of a cause.
JQ must be the most bored server now. No competition can’t be any fun.
I think they’re trying to get the most point as possible to push SoS to T2 so they can fight BG next match. Very smart move on JQ part. Why fight SoS next match again when you know they are a T-2-8 server now.
lol if that was the case, they’d leave SoR alone …
Congratulations to JQ. That’s a major feat. However creating another thread for it when you already did it in your match thread is kind of like rubbing salt in people’s wounds.
Just thought of something. In the case of SM for example, if a server has a group of 24 people pounding away on a section of wall the swords will not appear as it is not over the 25 person threshold. Now if one person hammers away on another wall section does that take it to the 25 person threshold or does it count as a separate attack altogether?
It will definately create some interesting possibilities.
Swords tend to be localized, so my guess is no.
Yes thank you for this. We are all so quick to be critical of errors in the past .. we should be equally vocal about appreciation when things are done this way.
•Using stealth no longer resets NPC aggression tables.
Does this mean no more hiding thieves it towers/keeps to res mesmers.
That simply means monsters previously aggro’d onto a Thief will re-engage the Thief as soon as he leaves stealth assuming his aggression score is higher then that of the monsters temporary new target (the one it switched too when the Thief stealthed)
I took it to mean that NPCs would see through stealth and would keep following/attacking … rather than deagroing the way they do now when a toon goes into stealth. If there’s no other target but the thief, or whatever toon is stealthed that would follow wouldn’t it?
(edited by Jayne.9251)
Missing a few on this list:
- Using stealth no longer resets NPC aggression tables.
- Ranger: Guard: Pets will no longer guard areas that should be inaccessible to them.
Thief, Mesmer and rangers all got “bugs” fixed too in WvW
Try tabbing around to see if you can at least target?
Lol I didn’t think golems could jump
No one wants to come fight in our wide open Bay and Hills anymore =(
I’d come but then you’d probably kill me with a million arrows and then you’d owe me cookies again
Plus I’m all comfy in bed atm.
I have a cookie saved with your name on it, don’t you worry! Enjoy your rest…
I knew you loved me
nitey nite.

Yeah as I was reading through all of this I couldn’t help but feel badly for the folks on SoS who are remaining ….. This has to be hard to read. I’m sorry for that. I hope you guys regroup and surprise everyone
And whilst we’re wishing, I’d like a chocolate fountain made of edible orichalcum.
Is that really necessary?
Yeah I read that and figured someone needed a hug lol … Or a nap. BGs got their hands full with him I think. Goodness, I was being nice.
Btw: It seems like Kain may be in a good spot to earn a lot of points against SoS…similiar to what happened when SoR ran over an empty SBI.
SOS is not empty yet.

I’d say TCs militia is pretty darn cohesive and tough …. They bring it as much as our guilds.
It’s interesting that t1 guilds don’t want to transfer within the same tier. Wonder what would have happened if that sentiment held true in tier 2 when SBI fell apart…..
Every server has a right to post recruitment threads. It’s incredibly uncool to come into one and troll it, regardless of history. It only winds up making your own server look bad. We in tier two have had zero issues with any of them being anything but polite and fun to play with … It boils down to treat others how you want to be treated yourself. It’ll give you good karma, too.
That said, my experience with Kaineng is that they have several skilled and organized WvW guilds, who have a very tier 1 worthy presence on the maps. If you want competitive WvW, Kaineng is worth considering.
BG is a great server, and for the most part a stable server … they have respectful players who fight fair and behave like adults both in game and on the forums. That said, I’m worried for my friends on BG. While I think you guys will assimilate the new guilds without much heartache because you’re a stable server with the above-mentioned characteristics, I worry you may suffer the fate of other servers who gained significant bodies. Stay true to who you are guys. Make sure the new folks understand the overall server mentality, and I think you’ll be fine.
Most of all, best of luck … we on TC will miss you greatly.
If you guys (BG and Kai) love us TC so much then please stomp FA for us. <3
If you guys love us, do what Sam said. FA have spilled blood of sacred levels, defiled the corpses of animals very dear to us, and…
I would consider it a personal favour if you all did this …
Hey now. We just enjoy our dolyak burgers! Can you blame us?!
You’re the exception. Nobody is allowed to kill Magi.
Aw Silke .. what a lovely thing for a kaineng player to say!
We’ve enjoyed our matches with you too!

P.S. I’m also going to be rooting for BG when they hit Tier 1 too!

Another friendly warning .. do not afk in unsafe areas .. meaning out in fields that are out of reach of agro, but still near them … there’s been a rash of folks training mobs onto afk’ers so they can get their daily rez quota … one guy came back to find himself dead and naked, lol. Not nice.
SoS is at the travel agency, booking a holiday on the tarnished coast.
Yes send us all your funny creative types that appreciate that this is a game and not a second job. We love those kinds of folks
Drop a piece of siege in the middle of a supply camp. The NPCs are programmed to attack it first and not you, be prepared to drop another if you’re not done … drag NPCs off one by one .. if you keep hitting them they’ll follow you and the rest will deagro. The guild claimer NPC is the one that is the toughest and will make the camp flip .. but you will have to clear out the other NPCs fully after you kill him.
It’s pretty easy to solo a supply camp once you get the hang of it.
So Kenig do you hate your own Garrison or something you broke it.
Shhhh … They’re remodelling with a new urban uptown chic look. We’ ll all be jealous, you watch.
. Just stop steamrolling me with zergs when I’m trying to film intro sequences…
This would be the best video ever …out takes
“Hi, I’m here today to show you guardian builds in WvW.”
*zerg rolls by, smoosh.
“Let me try this again. Hi I’m here today to …”
*zerg rolls by, smoosh.
“Cough. Hi I’m here ….”
Smoosh.
“Hi ….”
Smoosh.
“Oh for Pete’s sake …..”
Appledainty’s (Ellie’s) Dolyak walk parade every Thursday, day before reset:
Tarnished Coast is a stable server. Because of mitigating factors outside of WvW, our population will likely never drop. We are the unofficial North American RP server and RP communities tend to attract a mature audience (but you don’t have to RP to come here, I don’t but I adore our RP community because they add a layer to my gaming experience when I’m out and about that’s completely awesome). Our pve maps are populated pretty much every hour of the day, and while you can use the guesting function to come visit, I myself prefer to have my home server be the one that offers that so I can get to know the faces and players of my world.
Our WvW team is comprised of some rather big and organized WvW guilds, along with the backbone of our team — the militia. TC’s militia means that if you come as a solo player you will never be alone out there fighting. If you come as a guild, you will find cross-guild and militia cooperation inspiring. Our guys innately know how to defend, escort yaks, protect supply camps — all without being asked — it’s really quite cool that we do this without having to rely upon having a blue icon on the map to get the job done. That’s because TC WvW is really a team in the truest sense of the word.
That said, we have a full cadre of top-notch commanders, who are patient and willing to teach. Our WvW regulars will immediately give you something meaningful to do if you shout out in /team when you land. Our guilds are not exclusive but inclusive, often encouraging outsiders to join in their pushes to learn, grow and take over enemy maps.
But it’s important that you come to TC for the community first, and the WvW second. TC’s community is unique and lovely and we want to encourage more of the same like-minded folks to come here. Our map chat is often pleasant and funny, and we take time out to do silly things to keep our players in the game and having fun (see below). So if WvW is starting to feel more like a job than the fun it’s supposed to be, consider a move here.
Here’s a few reasons why you should make the leap:
Princess Doll fort attacks:
(edited by Jayne.9251)
- Quaggans will implement a new WvW strategy. This involves a lot of hugging (to death) and coo-ing.
- Dolyaks, tired of being constantly ganked will rise up and gather every single dolyak on the map any time you touch one. The resulting trampling will leave the enemy not only face down in the dirt, but with a few hoofprints on their backs.
- Yelling out enemy movements will get you supressed. Lack of orange swords will be a never-ending game of hide and seek.
- Weaker servers will get the Trehearne buff to use against enemies. Those attacking will be subject to a three hour lecture on Orr before they can proceed.
- Snaff returns and boy is he mad. Mr. Sparkles will play nonstop hits from the 70s and 80s.
- Supply camps after a final upgrade will be turned into a social club with drinks and dancing after 9pm.
Lol we had a massive Zerg in hills the other day …. They dutifully took out our cannons, then ran up the wall to build a treb and guard it …. Only they didn’t seem interested in stopping me leaping over the wall six times and running back inside to repair the cannon, which I promptly used to blast away at them glued on the wall. I’m not a oh so many bags I got type of person, but man there were quite a few that day.
That poster is priceless. Well done!
Didn’t Sam send a question into Anet asking if this was considered an exploit and was told no it’s not? It was posted in this thread, but can’t find it now. He posted a screenshot of the helpdesk answer.
If the objective is important to your team, leave folks behind to guard it. If TC can do this with our limited numbers, then both KN and BG can easily do this. This is how you counter this, along with necro aoe’s and reading the signs of a thief in your keep.
Hint: The first sign is a dead mesmer.
This isn’t limited to TC. I’ve seen thieves from BG do this as well .. as I mentioned above, you have one particularly skilled thief who managed to stay inside our garrison for well over three hours. Pain in the you know what, but we kept bodies behind and we eventually got him.
(edited by Jayne.9251)
I’ve actually been one of those dead mesmers inside a tower. Not often, mind you, but on occasion. The way I look at it is we station folks inside towers or keeps for reasons of defense. If the only end goal is to take over and leave, then you open yourself wide up to a flip. I understand the frustration of trying to track down one thief in a big massive keep, we had one guy from BG inside our garrison one day for three hours, lol drove us crazy .. but we left enough people behind to guard the keep and keep searching for him — eventually we found him.
Fact is, both BG and KN have almost double the bodies we do. If we can keep folks in our key objectives to make sure it’s not flipped, surely you guys can do it too. Otherwise I would assume if you leave it, it’s not that important to you and other things take priority.
I bet he ran by a guy /sleeping and thought the guy was dead, and then he got ganked and now he’s crying, lol.
haha i once saw a guy with a raptor potion hiding in the raptors on the borderlands map.
it was actually hilarious
lol that’s genius!
Aw but it’s fun to /sleep with the enemy .. see pix below:
(P.S. I suspect the OP was being facetious)
My latest project is building siege in unexpected places … Has renewed me a bit and is fun to surprise the enemy
With random invites I usually ask in map chat what the person wishes to do.
If they’re the enemy, they can’t read your map chat.
I’m always curious as to how the player feels when he tries to group with me and learns he was just killed by Bamby.
Hydrophidian. No other player can wrangle trolls quite the way he can.
Also Sam. No other thief I know can stay inside a keep for two hours and not get caught.
I heard if you own all three keeps on their BL, HB will be forced to RP all week.
A friend got his off a dead enemy in WvW just recently. There have been other reports of other precursors dropping there more often, too. Seems to be random, and only comes from killing the enemy and getting a chest drop — which is also random .. you more often just get bags.
There’s an NPC karma vendor inside the pirate caves in Lion’s Arch that will give you an orb that will teleport you to your hall …. he’s standing up near the boss with all the fenced goods. The orb is in the second bag tab when you pull up his sales menu.
You used to be able to look at your profile, or others, click a particular post link in your posting history and get to that exact post in a thread. Now when you click the post link it takes you to the last viewed post in the thread and not your specific post. This changed when the forum site was updated a while back. Any way to have the direct link to specific post returned?
Thanks!
