WvW Rank 3800 (Platinum Veteran) – PvP Rank 69 (Shark) – 25,9k Achievment Points
Mërcenaries [Sold] – Ferguson’s Crossing
Everyone will just hide on wall afraid to give the enemy team a tick. My server would suffer because I give no kittens about score and dive in fights that I’m likely not going to win.
No, bad change…
Darkhaven loves the changes
I don’t see any change at all, honestly.
This exactly is what’s the problem with Druid. Anet needs to buff this stuff, and as far as I can tell they haven’t because they’re afraid of PvP imbalance. NOBODY CARES ABOUT PVP ANET!
I belive the “Nobody cares about pvp” argument is directed to the fact that only a small part of the gamebase plays it. And following that logic, that means they should only catter for the PvE, since only a small part of the gamebase plays wvw. NOBODY CARES ABOUT WVW ANET!
Ok this is really degrading. I have already said I would basically respect the zerg and stay out. If you actually read my posts instead of kneejerking garbage about rangers then maybe your responses might be a little more constructive? Sheesh
I don’t get what type of “constructive response” you want… You want people here to give you a pat in the back because a squad didn’t wanted a ranger? Ranger is problably the profession with most bad players per capita (Some of them don’t even know they have a weapon other than Longbow) and very little group utility. Sure it problably was an exagerated reaction since we’re talking about a pug group, but you come here with jimmies rustled, write a wall of text about your little experience and expect everyone to accept rangers on their groups from now on? If you’re so unhappy about it, why don’t YOU lead instead and show how good a ranger is in a zerg?

It’s just the gwen meta updated to trade revs for wars
So the meta is now GREEN? (Two “e” since we have both frontline aurashare and backlines eles)
Also I’m fairly sure that the delay on the flame ram samage is only on superior Rams and is due to the shorter animation rather than the damage being slower.
This is true. But the issue of the skill going on cd when you press it right after the cd ends happen on any ram.
Just wait a bit more after the cd ends so it doesn’t get stuck. It seen to not go off if you press it right when it reset. The timer is 3.5s, and waiting like 3.7s haven’t given me any issue.
I had this one when leaving WvW by the “Leave the Mists” buttom. It opened Auric Basin load screen and crashed.

RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE
This is how this works right? We complain and get free glicko? Because you certainly dont get it for winning a matchup by 200k
RNGSUS BLESS US PLEASE
Well, you’ll problably get your free glicko after 5 weeks of complain if you follow CD footsteps. Too bad that the pairings will change before that meaning all your complaints will be in vain… Like everything.
All is vain.
It’s ok in a group fight where the mes can set it up sneaky like. If you’re in a 2v5 for a camp for example. Buddy gets moa’d and it’s prob gg.
If it was a 2v5 you problably wouldn’t win unless the 5 other dudes are bad anyway.
750 relics per ring? Yeesh.
Well, at least now you can buy them. They used to be drops only.
how to buy Fractal Relics?
You don’t buy the relics, you use the relics to buy the Mist Essences, which are the itens that used to be drop-only. I admit the quoted post sound confusing.
Getting 750 relics to buy them is much better than farming fractals for itens that even at ~340% magic find I have a hard time to drop.

But I’m sure nobody sane that’s actually seen t3 or higher thinks that a place where SBI of all servers has a 1.5 KDR ratio and is winning heavily in score is anything but a farce. Especially considering reset night is when numbers are more even. Whatever makes you sleep at night.
Considering CD was barely above 1.0, I guess this part pretty much bury Cerby’s entire argument.
There are only 3 spots, and CD is way more qualified than your server at this point, and you know it.
For me, they look all about the same honestly… Wish we had SoS or YB in this new week instead so we could see which of the 4 T3 servers were more fitting.
They dropped the ball the moment the artificial rating wasn’t accounted for the glicko calculations. If the T4 servers rating had the +200 they used before the calculations, you problably would have gained rating with the result of the match or at worst lost far less rating. The same would have happened to Crystal desert on T3, they wouldn’t have won a lot of free rating merely for being in there if they still had their +200 before the result of T3 match. I honestly thought they were going to do the same manual change they did to T8 many years ago when they gave +100 to ET/FC prior the match results to make glicko adjust itself, but I was wrong.
Unfortunely, I highly doubt they will change anything now. It took them 5 weeks to adress the quadserver issue of being unable to move due their stupid decision of using CD and SF original glicko ratings with the 3rd server of the match (Dh) being one that have been losing every match for 3 months now (thus bleeding a lot of rating). By the time they decide (if they decide) to do somenthing for T4 again, the pairings will be changing. Your best bet is to take a break from GW2 until August 26th when the pairing changes.
yea, I agree that fields should be more clearly visible on the screen for low detail graphics and the fire application stacks too fast and the field duration is too long. I also disagree that most mortars can be killed easily, as only some classes are able to take out mortars at all.
They promissed us the red circle when people first complained about the mortars. But we didn’t received them yet.
Also, the mortars are right in the middle of the wall. Any skill with 240 radius can hit it. And pretty much every profession have at least one.
Oh kitten … The signet is a 180s cooldown skill that target ONE PLAYER and CAN BE DODGED/BLOCKED. Sure, it’s super powerful in a 1v1 situation, but in a large fight it’s completely useless.
1 week of siege damage only, please. The salt will be glorious.
Funny enough that was the golem week more or less.
Nah… Players could still damage each other… I mean literal 0 damage player to player. Only siege being able to deal damage.
Anet you screwed up… SBI doesnt wanna be in T4 and shouldnt be in T4, get your act together already.
None the T3 servers want. But someone has to be… Who will it be? Glicko and RNGeesus are the ones that decide that.
Mesmer has pretty much always been a darling at ANet.
Funny, I always hear that Warriors are Anet’s golden childs.
P/P thief used to be a counter to them but of course that got hammered into the ground.
Considering that a condi bunker can now trait for reflections on manip (Chaos trait line highly benefit from Dire/Trailblazer), I’m not sure if P+P would still hurt mesmers as much as they did back on the days of Unload+Ricochet.
(edited by Jeknar.6184)
And did you just say you’re a guild leader? pulling that card, really? wow…
I think he was reffering to me in that part.
The fault lies in who didn’ t make ranger decent and viable in 4 years.
Ranger is one of the strongest skirmishers atm, I don’t get the “didn’t make ranger viable” comment. It just not really good in a large scale fight compared to the heavy/light professions. Sure, it can deal a lot of long range damage or heal, but an elementalist can do that aswell, and be much more versatile.
Funny enough, the 3 professions nobody want to see in a zerg are the 3 medium ones.
(edited by Jeknar.6184)
Again; just take all zerk (or marauder/zerk) equip, and have fun. Be suprised how fast you learn, and tend to have alot more fun. It’s a learning curve sure, but so much more rewarding in the end.
Dude. I played full zerker mesmer before… But I can no longer do it. It’s no longer fun to me. I hate to lose fights because my enemy have a lot of self sustain which my profession lack when not running a bunker setup. You may try to imply that it’s a L2P issue, but there is no learning in trying to take down a wall with your fists.
(edited by Jeknar.6184)
So, what are the mesmer escapes? blink and phase retreat (with staff). it’s not much. They blink behind and didn’t care to look to see if they were there?
Well, most of time a decoy unto blink and prestige is enough to lose a non-thief, or at least give you a nice gap between your enemy. You can even go further and continuum unto prestige+decoy, return and then blink unto prestige+decoy again. And I didn’t even used phase retreat yet. Sure, it require some key skills to be off cooldown, but except for thief you need some key skills to lose a enemy in any profession.
condi bunker applies to all classes (not just mesmer). You want to have fun, pick a class, equip it in all zerk and take melee weapons, and whatever you think are the best build specs you can think of.
Honestly, with the elite specs, I can no longer agree with the “Zerker purist” statement. It’s not fun to be outsustained by some professions like Druid/Scrapper/Tempest and even Warrior after the Adrenal Health buff. Not every profession have that much self sustain and mesmer cetainly don’t.
It doesn’t mean I like condi bunkers tho. The playstyle of that kind of build is just plain boring.
Nothing beats thief/daredevil for escape potential. Hell, even druid with staff/gs is better. (I’m suprised I didn’t even mention nike warrior).
True, but I belive he mean about adding a escape potential to a already strong condi bunker. A condi thief is nowhere as dangerous as a condi mesmer despite the fact the he will most likely get away.
(edited by Jeknar.6184)
@Jeknar
I’m not complaining, just throwing a statement out there to see what duelers/roamers in general think about this build and it’s place in the dueling/roaming ecosystem.
Thanks for contributing
I see… Well, most people won’t even bother dueling one. I even see some dudes run power food to bait people into fighting them.
I run a Viper’s variant myself (the original build is carrion for spvp or dire/trailblazer on wvw) and it’s a pretty strong combo aswell, but it lacks the passive defense from the full condi version. I think the big deal isn’t the build itself, but how it work along with the defensive stats. Honestly, any condi bunker is terrible to fight against in a 1v1 situation.
Fine, ignore the KDR, I know it is pretty meaningless, but saying you guys can fight us when you just get farmed all night is a joke. SF and DH zergs just stand there and one pushed, it’s ridiculous.
I can one-push anyone when it is 60v20.
I don’t get what exactly is the discussion here. You’re complaining about the Cancerous Chronophantasma Mesmer? That’s problably the strongest 1v1 build atm and the only times I ever beat one was with condi necro (with all the condition return skills equpped)
That’s why I don’t zerg, so I don’t have to deal with turds saying what I should run.
Ofc, roaming require you to not be a rallybot, but you’ll everytually learn how to not be one by playing your profession to the fullest.
cd did a much better job of making us lose all hope than sbi has. sbi is much more fightable. cd on the other hand was so blobby and zergy that we got run over each time. in our primetime we win tons of fights against sbi zergs. sbi belongs t4 more than cd did.
The KDR says otherwise, you guys are garbage. This matchup is terrible and it’s Anet’s fault for trying to game the system.
It’s easy to call other people garbage when you outnumber the oposition at least 3:1.
resource instead of rotation based
This is a caracteristic unique to thief, and you won’t find that on any other profession as all of them have CDs in every weapon skill. At best a kit engineer or a elementalist who have multiple weapon choices (elementalist have 20 weapon skills oposed to the typical 10. Engineer have an extra 5 per equipped kit) so you are more likely to always have somenthing at your disposal.
1 week of siege damage only, please. The salt will be glorious.
Ehhh, you gotta consider the price to scribe the upgrade, not the price to make the upgrade itself. You never lose the ability of scribing the said upgrade, which is what these 42g represent. The actual cost of this upgrade is ~3g, and only because it takes 24 Flax Fibers to be crafted like every other WvW schematic.
Also, we all know Guild Halls were meant to be some major money sink. They wanted to make some materials prices rise (such as leather) and make some materials that people would just sell at vendor go back to trading post (such as mithril).
I don’t really get your “get your people in line” comment. The only thing players can do is report hackers. Dealing with them is up to ArenaNet.
I saw 49 stacks of it on me, seems rather excessive considering I tried to move out from the field right when it hit.
Sorry but, unless you pulled everyone’s burning to you with pain absorption/save yourselves, you are lying. I get 6 or at best 9 stacks if I walk out of the field right away.
Don’t think it would be very fun.
I think it would. It promote people to stop rellying on siege to win fights.
It happens fast… fast enough that if someone fumbles getting off a cata it will kill them.
Good. Working as intended.
I can’t speak for YB but they are known for defending and being pretty successful. Not sure what the current state of YB is right now.
SoS is a much stronger defender now. I think since DK absence much of their defense has left.
Most of SoS defenders are problably from NSP… We don’t call them NSPPT for nothing. They sure hug those towers and keeps as if their lives depended on it.
Exp gain doesn’t work since WvW no longer award exp. The other 3 should work perfectly fine. I run a magic find one in hopes of getting somenthing other than spikes and it sure add up on my character sheet stat.
All condis are removed when the target goes down. An ele expecting to be downed will be spamming 2 to turn to mistform as soon he dies. Sure, there is a counterplay, but it’s pretty bad and only someone dumb will sit downed instead of mist form right away if he’s close to a tower
Mist Form is a cantrip. Vapor Form is a downed skill. Mist Form does not remove conditions.
Vapor Form does have counter play.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/elementalist/Vapor-form-downed-state
“A key difference is that Vapor Form does not prevent control effects. Visuals were updated in the September 2014 Feature Pack to distance the two skills.”
I said that you lose all condis when you go downed, not when you use vapor form. Please re-read. Also I never see hard CC hit vaporform. It always says “invulnerable” just like mist form despite the wiki text saying otherwise.
(edited by Jeknar.6184)
The Mist Form issue has complete counter play but few ever learn it. You can Immobilize them and they cannot go anywhere. That is L2P.

Doesn’t a simple cc stop the rez and put the skill on CD?
Underwater? No… It’s been bugged since launch and never been adressed.
If a P/P isn’t running with SB, they are dead since P/P has no escape capability outside of Bound.
Comming from the person who made the thread about permastealth thief, I’m pretty sure you know that bound with blind powder isn’t a easy catch. Honestly, I run P/P + D/P with 0 problems. Sure I cannot cross the map in 30s like I would with SB, but I’m not a sitting duck like you are implying.
Even if they do a Ranger can simply heal through a downed state even with 3 players wailing on them.
True. That part is annoying. But if they finally fixed the bug where the pet keep reviving the ranger even after you kill it (works out of the water), I don’t think rangers would be a big deal underwater anymore.
Do people even enter in the water? Nobody ever chase me when I drop to water, even when it’s 1v2. And I’m not even a ranger.
In addition, a well played Bunker Druid can handle two P/P thieves.
I highly doubt it… First because the thieves or daredevils will likely have another weapon set and not only p/p which can be blocked by staff #5. Second because depending of how bunker the said druid is, he won’t be able to burst a thief before he can disangage and comeback with 100% HP like while the other still pressuring him.
Maybe 2 dumb thieves, yeah, but trully most professions can 1v2 if the oposition is bad.
There is just too much inviable stuff in the game. But that doesn’t change the fact that some are far more powered than the average ones.
In fact if we’re going to take a look at this, why does one flame ram not set fire to the others next to it?
The problem is that you would never be able to open a tower gate with rams anymore if the tower is upgraded (unless you want to spend an eternity single ramming a fortified gate)… There is not enough space to put rams that would be outside the AoE fire range.
Thieves are the main thing I save this combo for because many of them are either not expecting the damage to come so quickly or are just too slow to react. But it will 100 – 0 them in exactly 1second (QZ halves the RF cast time) doing between 12 and 15k. I’m not sure what the damage is like from Unload on average as I don’t play Thief but I just thought I’d give some numbers from my experience with Ranger.
Yep… The toughest fights I run into are two rangers/druids with LBs that are not stacked on top of each other. I can close on one but the other just turns me into a pin cushion. DH has a similar ability. Basically those long range big shots are just too difficult to manage when spaced apart. Add on that both classes can hit hard and be bunker… yeah Unload got nothing on a bunker with long range spam.
1 ranger can’t do anything against 2 thieves too. I don’t get what you are trying to say here…
No other rune set gives this number of equivalent attribute points and has extended abilities. Exuberance is probably the closest to the attribute gain but it has no extended abilities. Pack is similar but the boons aren’t as potent.
Runes of divinity give 546 attribute points, but they are bad. The problem is how the points are allocated. Giving 2 defensive stats + boon duration is what make this rune so strong. It’s like you being able to run a bit of minstrel in your zerker gear for free.
