Well, not everyone want to sit on the ruins while people take over objectives… So the server with most roamers and open field fighters will likely hold it. Unlike the old orbs that could be hidden inde a fortified keep and held forever.

Sorry IoJ, i didn’t hosted “THE TRAIN” on Eternal Battleground this night because I wanted to take a look at the new thief roamer playground… I liked the landscape. I wonder if I can take advantage of the terrain to assault the adjacent Towers/Keeps.

Anyway, I wasn’t able to do much but to take a lot of spike on the face while in there. So I hereby decrete Lilian Deathblossom the worst thief in all Tyria. Which mean that if you meet that sylvari, you shouldn’t run away… The chances that you’ll win a fight are rather high.

funny how ppl say that whoever is bored runs only 30 man zergs but in fact when i tried roaming i either was facing 30 man ET zergs (apprently you need that many for 1 kitten thief) or NPC :x

The reason many of them say that they are bored is because those are often the same people that don’t go anywhere without a 30 man zerg. When you make sure that you severely outnumber your foe every time you fight, of course it will be boring.

The reason you don’t see a lot of IoJ on ETBL or HoDBL for larger stretches of the night is that they only come if there is an IoJ zerg.

It would be more fun if those 30-man blobs split in two as the fights would be more competitive.

Ok, here is the result. Quite surprising to me, I thought treb and ballista will deal more damage.

Credit to Jeknar from ET for such a good target and Dispensa Shaterhorn from IoJ who was cool and didn’t disrupt the test.

I could clean up and upload the raw footage on youtube if there is any demand for it.

edit: Pretty much assuming SBI gets into the tier 1 league so everyone will be targeting IOJ to be the t2 winner and transfer there.

This match up is kind of pointless right now, so I am going to take the opportunity to do some siege weapon damage testing. I would like to enlist the help of an ET or IoJ for this.

I will build treb/cata/ballista/AC at one of the borderland camp, you take it back, build 1 or 2 rams and maybe a golem and I will test the siege weapons on it and get the numbers. I am willing to pay the first person who help me with this 3 gold (1g on join, 2 gold on finish of the test). Will be on for 2-3 hr more, please contact me in game if you are interested.

Dunno if someone helped you with your testing, but if you want to know what’s best to destroy enemy siege, its trebs… Someone with treb mastery can deal over 10k damage to siege/sites, however trebs cost 100 supplies and are very vulnerable (to not mention they can’t hit at short range).

I think the damage order of “siege X siege” is Mortar > Trebuchets > Cannon > Ballista > Omega Golem > Arrow Cart > Catapult.

Alpha, Oil and Rams aren’t there for obvious reasons…

Simply making a comment. The IOJ forum warriors are appeased because they get an easy win, and the other servers know that fighting back is useless so why even bother.

Well… Actually that’s being a good matchup so far. Even though IoJ can overwhelm us with superior numbers/coverage, the people that are defending are actually having quite a blast holding off endless waves of invaders… Much like when we used to face SF down on T8.

For me, that’s a good week aswell… Since IoJ zerg is quite active, I’m farming Wxp by flipping back what IoJ just flipped on Eternal. Like it or not, I’m getting a lot of support on keeping this operation up, and I’m sure the IoJ guys that are flipping the bases in EB are also happy aswell. They get Wxp from cap, we get Wxp from recap… Level dem alts, and everyone is happy… It’s a win/win situation

I just don’t know if HoD is having this kind of fun aswell … But I can’t speak for HoD. So I’ll just leave that part open.

Since we’re having such a bad week, some of the people on ET (me included) decided to just focus on Wxp farm and test some siege placements…

I wouldn’t expect much of a fight from ET during the rest of this week. So let’s just keep he farm going so we can have a lot of rankings when the “league-season-whatever” start…

I ran into Jeknar while roaming and we partied up. It was really fun! Everybody saw his uplevel and would target him immediately. We would rez him aso he could be focused and the rest of us could run amok freely.

Wrong… Sorrow’s don’t need omegas. They don’t need siege at all… Sorrow’s destroy gates with bare hands!

There isn’t much we can do on this matchup, so I’ve been working on retake our stuff while IoJ comes and get it again… Hell, I haven’t seen gates melt that fast ever since I left Blackgate. There is from little to no chance of reaction.

So, in the end, I farmed 20 levels for my thief, and got a lot of Wxp aswell (My thief is likely to get at my guardian rank before reaching 80 at this rate).

I apologize, I really hate when we spawn camp. It’s not fun for any of the groups involved. I’ll bring it up in the commander’s meeting tonight for sure. Hoping for good fights this week, see you all on the battle field.

SF is bad at stuffs we get it…Only undermanned servers have quality players, hopefully next week we will get an outmanned match again so that our “quality” will skyrocket once more.

Every server from the “Bro-Trio” improved a long way, but WvW is a number game… You can win fights with skills, but in the end, the numbers will decide the outcome of the war….

From #22, #23 and #24, we’re now #19, #20 and #22 (hopefully FC will make it to #21), as AR, DR and GoM go down… Those servers are dealing with what we have dealt before and now will have to improve in fighting outnumbered or die in oblivion. (However I still find funny that I never see DR with the outmanned buff, and ET have it in 2-3/4 maps this week. You guys got more people over there?)

That said, SF has the right of being on the top of our former group, as they not only have superior numbers, but their core improved by fighting against outmanned odds.

I for one have no misconceptions, every server has bads and every one has good players. The problem is on every server the bads/fairweathers/PVE’ers tryin to get those badges for that legendary…make up about 75% of the population.

Badges are so easy to get now that I’m not really sure if that argument still valid… I can just run around a borderland taking 7 sentries, 6 camps, 3 quaggan nodes, the temple and doing Wurm/Warg/Harpy/Centaur/Skritt, for easy Wexp, which result in ranks that result in more badges. But who knows…

Well, you actually did it had a 1v1… When I died near the scout there was no guards around during the fight. Was it pro? Was it a good fight?

Of course i’m going to hide behind the guards since EVERYONE know upleveleds have no chance to 1v1 a level 80 at this. But if its going to make you feel better, i’ll die duel you next time. So you can gloat about beating a low level in 1v1…

The only roamers on Sorrow’s Furnace are thieves? Because everytime I see the name “Sorrow’s Furnace (Insert Rank Here)” it’s either a thief or a zerg that didn’t loaded yet.

I’m not seeing an ET that has any internal issues to solve nor any fear of SF. I think we’re kicking booty as hard as we can whenever/wherever we can.

Each week we’re getting more and more people into TS3. Some are adamant about only staying in their own guild channel, but they’re thankfully in the minority. For the most part, I’m seeing some decent coordination, communication, and “call outs”. We’re getting better and better. Sometimes the improvements are baby steps. Sometimes they’re giant steps. Either way, progress is progress.

You don’t go on Eternal much often right? Thats where drama usually flows…

How much people SF had on EB today? I got rolled by a sea of red names so many times… A “Sea of Sorrows”.

I expect that to be a bad week for ET…

Most our WvW focused people were striking SF, as it is the next server on ranking. So if what this guy from DR said is true, the people who were so focused on DR BL are problably the very same people that are afraid fighting SF and kept saying how we would get “penetrated” for attacking it… That means ET will have a lot of internal issues to solve this week.

BTW, I’m not afraid of SF superior numbers, as for what I’ve seen so far, SF is the same clumsy giant I knew… Lots of people without coordination (I think SF fielded even more people than NSP did last week, but who knows…) and I don’t care if some guys are afraid of retaliation, I’ll focus on SF for it is the best thing to do if we intent to go up on ranks. Besides, SF will attack us regardless if we take their stuff or not.

Well, time will tell us how this week will flow…

I did my build based on power and toughness (Knight’s with Emerald Orbs) to mitigate damage from the power meta and at same time be able to deal with the glassy roamers (mostly thieves)… Having to change to condition will make me play like 100% of all other engineers… So, no thank you. To play like everyone else I rather be a guardian…

Also SF used to do that to us for like always for almost 4 months (And SF actually had WP on all 3 keeps, which you don’t)… So, nothing new here.

My ability of fighting mesmers is getting sharpened, had a good duel with a [XOXO] Asura Mesmer today… Also killed a few mesmers around while taking sentries and caravans.

The excuse “X server is a PvE server” is overused… I recall FC saying that when they first lost #23 to ET (the week I came to ET). GoM used the same excuse when they dropped to T8 and lost (saying it was SAB fault). HoD used the same excuse when they didn’t caused the (Ho)Domination of T8 they promissed. ET also used this excuse many times…

The only servers that aren’t focused on PvE are gnashing each other for the first place (JQ/SoR/BG). Even the Tarnished Coast (which is the #4) is a PvE based server (They love Dolyak parades and RP stuff), so anything under that cannot use the excuse of “PvE based”.

PvE events dent WvW population? Yes, they definetly do… But it will happen on DR, on ET, on IoJ, on anyone down here… The only thing is that IoJ actually have more people even without the guys that are killing Scarlet minions. So let us (not only DR) stop pretending that Clockwork Chaos is the reason that we are “losing”, and try to have fun with the population imbalance we have been put against.

And swap where its written DR for GoM, and where its written IoJ for NSP.
