I think the new changes coming and the living story are arenanets counter to these new mmo releases like neverwinter and ESO.

Until ESO’s business model comes out in the open i really think they are more worried about neverwinter as itsfree to play and free to download..

Loaaaaaaads of people have thought of this and its been hashed up in different forms since release, this is prolly why u get no replys.. Do a search u will see

yeah this is the only issue that i can currently think might be a problem. That of people having a wvwvw guild they use whern doing that and having a pve guild for when they do dungeons. But if this is done, it wont be gone forever just until they make it how it should be. Guilds can then adjust and offer both if its an issue for alot of their members.

yeah get rid of all the associated text on enemy players except for class health and effects. I dont presume to know anything about programming at all(unless you count making music on a spectrum and changing the code to rogue to make yourself invincible, also on the spectrum) but wouldent this make the file packets smaller due to less iunformation having to be passed from server to client? Which is inherantly the issue of the culling problem?

I think its a good idea, they dont want to give us enemy players names so why not get rid of it altogether?

Imo at the moment it doesent really work and wasent really well received. Players were confused by it and dident really like the idea of it. This was mainly due to the fact that loyalty of players was called into question and obviously as a guildmaster you preferably want dedicated loyal players. Its been hashed out again and again but thats the main jist of it.

My suggestion is this.. Why not just get rid of the whole multiple guild thing? If thats what most players want? why not disable it until you can come up with a much better way to implement your original vision? At the moment your introducing new things to try to make this system work. why not stop doing that, disable and then really get down into the depths of it in your own time and recreate it into the epic social butterfly mechanism that you really wanted it to be?

I love how there are epic fights in this game with dragons and champions and certain named bosses in the open world. I like how this living story is going to progress.

There is something missing though in the fame abnd glory side of things. That of system sent serverwide messages or map wide messages.. Things like Dolvin the Great has just killed the dragon Kralkatorric or things like that.. It adds an element of fame to the game, you know, like whos name do you see pop up regularly and such things…

Maybe the dragon fightsd are the wrong example but for thiongs liek when you do wqorlkd map completion or maybe if you add in some quests that can be done once per week or such..

Now im aware that yoyu would have to implement this kind of thing very carefully or alot of players will complain of system spam and such but could it be done? Asherons call had this kind of system and it worked well imo

This is my 2nd character, my warrior Bertha Knocks. All taken as I was leveling her up & working on her gear. My main is an engineer, but I’ll have to go through the screens to find a good “timeline” of those.

SO, here i am in picture one (the top photo) as a lvl 47 in midnight firem which was my colour back then. I think the set was a bit of a mismatch of blues and greens mostly beserker.

then next was a month later i thiink while I was lvl 59.. During my roman gladiator phase, where i fancied myself in bronzed armor, plus midnight fire for the shades. I like the effect it gives you..

The third one is just after i hit eighty. From about 78 to 80 i had the iron armor idea and went with it. I found it really enhanced the realism of the game for my charcter. I forget the names of it im afraid but i liked the helm and the way the horns curl back each side..

Then here I am in my current armor and colours.. I use celestial for the top blocks of colours with midnight fire for the edging and joints (the bottom blocks). alot of people ask if im a stormtrooper haha! "I always say no no im a space marine haha!!"
Its Full Ac armor with the original buffs.
I like to keep buffs with the sets they come on originally, to see it if rings true for the dungeon to armor association. I "likes" it though. I "likes" the colours, you stand out in a dungeon which is good if your a warrior It also helps being a max size norn haha!

Anyways thats chronological order from lvl 47 to lvl 80 and present day.

The very last picture i thought i would add goes in as the penultimate photo, that being the one before last (unfortunatly I cannot change the order unless i delete and re-upload, so i left it in the last spot). I upgraded from the plain iron coloured set (which was greens) intto exotic peices, in a kind off "mis-match". I really liked the helm because it was so unique, even if it did look like i had a titanic on my noggin lol...

now i know whats going to be permanent guest server! wish thetre were more rpr’s on desolation

January was prelude to fl;ame and frost, theres a few different events to do that will get a a nice karma reward and fill up some acheivments. there are now town criers as well giving hints.

Isn’t the battle standard gained from skill points and not from traits?

Anyway, for me, grandmaster book is only for me if I plan to put more than 20 points into a specific trait.

Also, buy the basic manual from TP, it’s always cheaper than 10 silver. The other two, always buy from the vendor, it’s always cheaper than the TP.

yeah its skill points but thiose dont unlock until you get the grandmaster book either. I dident realise he was focusing on traits, but i would get the book as soon as you can use the traits it corresponds to then.

It also gives you a free reset so its handy in that way also.

You will be ok with this game but europe uses a different format to the US (ntsc and pal)
So any future discs will need a region change on your player and this is locked to only be used 3 times or so.. So for future discs (expansions etc) you will need to get another drive and have it set to the correct region. thenn its just remembering which are your US discs for games and which are your Euro discs.

You tv will be needed to be changed also yto the new region. most sets have an option for ntsc or pal. same with your dvd or blueray player..

We also have different electrical system and voltages over here so you will need to check that stuff out also. plugs can be different here also.

Oh yes! WvWvW has many many moments like this. Its really impressive when you manage, through skill and teamwork to overcome a group much larger than yourselves. This is what I love about the WvWvW arena.

Now, I was infractals yesterday with a group of people, only me and my friend were on skype together whilst the other 3 guys were pug. We came up wiuth the dredge fractal and i took charge and led our group through explaining what to do and brooking no argument! We made it to the end boss and my mate said o gods i hope we dont get the dredge or we will fail.

We got the dredge lol! from the begining of that combat to the end i was holding my breath and turning blue lol.. The other 3 guys kept dying getting thrown about etc.. my mate went up top and me as a warrior with a longbow ytook the aggro and led him round clockwise, but you know, it was one of those moments where you are in the zone! I used my skills at exactly the right times and kept aggro all thru the battle luring him under the lava buckets while my mate pulled the lever... gosh, i mean everything went perfect! was a really cool battle..

Personally i believe that 90% of the complaining is from kids. As this game is not sub based, any tom dick and harry can play without needing to be old enough to hold a bank account. So personally I just think that most of the complainers are kids in there i want i want i want modes..

Personally when read alot of the threads here they are not constructed by mature adults. If they were they would be polite and providing constructive critisism instead of just moaning and adding in a tiny bit constructivness so the post doesent get deleted.

Now there are always exceptions to the rule. So, dont take this as gospel as the percentage may be a little lower than 90%

I would of at the start, i remember thinking omfg how is this game not sub based!? Its a AAA game at AA prices. Changing ther business model partway through though I would just leave. If they added a premium account or anything along those lines i would just quit as well. Im happy with the way it is now and will continue to play. I dont play enough though atm to warrant paying a sub.

I think mesmer is tricky to master and something no other game has. im not sure on builds for it though as i play a warrior. warriors are easy to pick up but hard to master.

hmmm a good solo pve charcter is warrior, hes melee but also he is good at range with longbow or rifle. if that doesent tickle your fancy it sounds like a ranger might be for you with the added bonus of a pet companion

yeah alot of people project without realising there projecting.

I always carry ash legion spy kits they are such a nessecity unless u have stealth as an ability. ive not found where it is yet but i think theres an experimental teleportation gun or something? i think that would be good to have a few off...

I used to carry round a few golem in a box items as i think they look really funny and do some nice aoe dmg

I always carry two sets of armor as well incase of breakages. Doesent hurt to have repair cannister and revive orb maybe 5 of each either.

Speaking from my own experience on desolation EU ive not seen any elitism as such yet. Ive seen people asking for experienced oplayers only etc but i dont see that as elitism. i see the " you must have xxx and xxx to be in this run as elitism". this I havent seen.

Oh i mean there ares ome horrid people but there are also some really nice people so its all good atm

yeah im looking forward to the armor and weapon additions but i agree they need more variation. Is it coming or is it not coming? has this been addressed yet by a dev?

i agree its a shame but its always been stated that this would be the case, as the other players have said above.

that could be why actually, they slimmed humans down to a single race to save alot of work and get the game out on schedule. so its saved them from having to do lunar new year etc and other canthan holidays. Im well happy with the amount of holiday events we have had so far we have been soooo spoilt i think. im scared if i ever play any other mmo im going to be comparing them to this service on gw2 every time. great value for money!

no i agree. The dev tracvker is nice but sometimes you see the thread title and that a dev has replied and u wanna see what they saifd in that thread wehile the context is still there fresh in your mind. I have always found ythis lil thing has annoyed me since the start. just never mentiuoned it

no im afraid not you jus have to get used to it, those skills are always the same. Changing weapons gets different skills for combat in 1 to 5. sorry.

yeh, i think they should most definatley make the clues hard and make you have to figure it out, as they are guild missions you ave a much larger pool of resources from which to work with.

They should do, sorry im not 100% I know you can find those in fractals though.

nah they fixed it with a patch awhile ago

last i checked the rare beserker backpeices were bugged and still unable to be sold in tradepost. The backpeace you can get at near the end of your storyline, they also drop inf ractals, and alo as above what the guys here are saying

Bountys! they interest me, i wonder if players can set bountys on people in wvwvw that would be fun
