yeh it needs a fix, you used to only be able to get back peices from sotry or for karma so im thinking they tagged it as unsalvagable but they tagged it generally instead of adding the arguments needed for other loot..

nice ideas i like the foefire ones.. Another one i just had was maybe our chatrcters seeing our world, 20th century and doing a frctal of that nature... not sure how u would tie it in but it would be cool..

I’m in a rather large guild which should represent a rather accurate cross-section of the gw2 community. When i look at the roster, i see SIGNIFICANTLY more guardians/warriors than any other class with mesmers/engis being the least popular.
Can i get some reasons as to why these two classes are so popular? I don’t think they’re too OP (if at all) so what could it be o_O?

Contrary to popular belief you are correct in that they are far from being OP compared to the other classes and skills.
Its all down to the class based mechanics im sure. These are 2 of the easiest classes to get to grips with based on skills and playstyle, yet thery are also the hardest to master.. This is the reason they are the most popular here and in every other game ive ever played mmo wise…

I want to do be able to do Fractals. Since I didn’t buy the game at launch, no group will take me because I have not done it before. Having played MMOs since Everquest 1, I am shocked at how many hurdles they put in front of you as far as getting a group is concerned.
add me as a friend and i will help you run it, Im regurlarly doing fractal runs under lvl 5 for people to catch up. Its also my philosophy that its better to be inside at lvl 2 than outside waiting for lvl 20..
Yet I digress... I like that idea fiddlesticks... pirate style fractal would be good fun specially a boarding action along with it or maybe a floating castle or island like that mages...

wow, ive run this dungeon more times than hot dinners and since the first 2 weeks or so ive never ever had one problem beating it... Strange... is this story mode then that is bugged? because i dont think explore is bugged at all... At least not since they fixed the hitboxes on the burrows..

I would love to see the crystal desert and other areas, it would be truly great.. This is a great platform forb the devs to try out new locales and areas to gauge reactions..
I love the idea of the gw1 mission packs and incorporating them with upgraded textures and plenty of lore.
The pink ring is for another discussion sorry but theres plenty threads about that stuff. this is what you wanna see in the future. the directrion you would like fractals top go in mission wise.. Thanks guys! There is even an oppurtunity here for expanded fractal sets top be sold for gems or cash. mission packs etc, with unique armor sets..
I would like to see some areas we visited in our story missions expanded upon and a fractal being made from them.

im by no means a white knight and theres also no need to project onto me the ossible failure of mmo. There asre things i dissagree with and I have a right to my opinion just as you do. Just because i do not beleive in the same way does not make my points any less valid than yours.

I think the rare droprate was abviously way to high… now its normal again i am happy..
What exactly was so obviously too high? Its the first dungeon in the game that rewarded you decently (the reason most ppl do it)… it wasn’t too high, its the other dungeons reward that is none existent. Like what’s the point of even going over level 20 now knowing chests are worst than Dragon chests (that is saying a lot btw).
I understand what your saying and on the most part i agree with you but if the loot droprate is set to high i think less people would exchange gems for gold. Thus anet would make less money. Thus it was obviously set to high. If this was on purpose to lure people into the dungeon get them hooked them strip away to make some cash it remains to be said tho.

I agree gw2 has its flaws. In fact i was so dissapointed with the first 2 acts of the last patch that i dident turn up to the third, this was at a loss to myself i might add.
please dont assume i agree with the rest of your post just because i dont mention it.
RNG can suck i agree and there miust be better ways to do it which i think are already in... If rng doesent work u get enoyugb relics to vbuy what u need and use mystic forge to craft.
I like the way fractals are designed with that one way.. once yoyu know how to overcome it its almost easy.. with the right gear it is easy....
ive never had any trouble not kicking someone i felt needent be kicked..

its not righteous, its just right.. I really see no point in cheating it takes all the fun out of a game.. I also dislike the fact that people who do cheat in this game are not punished in anyway which sets a precedent for others to cheat with little or no worry..

There will always be an excuse for people to cheat at a game... I wont use one because i dont cheat.. Yes this has gotten me ridiculed on the forums and kicked from groups in game. I know that I am right though and so will continue with my philosophy and not cheat. You dont have to do fractals, i find them fun and enjoyable when you do them how they are meant to be done.. But then im in no rush, theres no race here for me..
Oh and heres a no brainer for you, none of these fixes would have been implemented if people hadent taken advantage and tried to exploit in the first place..

im suprised you even tried 30 plus with a pug… there is no issue here that i see these lower levels are meant for hardcore pve people with organised groups its small wonder that you failed..
I say pug but honestly our teams are pretty organized, many of us are dungeon master and we know what we are doing.
I am gonna be honest here, I think this Fractal is broken in terms of difficulty when the seal is “fixed”, the amount of effort to pass this fractal is gonna make everyone skip it when they saw it.
Ahh ok by what you said i dident think it was an organised group.. I have not tried it at lvl 30 yet tbh so ill take your word for it.

No amount of peer pressure will make me exploit. I dont cheat and never have it makes games boring for me...
Im by no means an amatuer at fractals either. I always advise b4 hand that i do not cheat and will brook no cheating the group... It doesent stop people halfway through deciding to cheat and kicking you fromg roup as you are the only one being true and standing up for what is right!
It is a harder path to be honest and true but it is not the worser path for being so... It is actually far more rewarding and the people you do meet eventually are far better than the ones who kick you for not cheating...
I get to complete maybe 1 run in 5 or 6 due to being kicked for not cheating.. Im glad of the fixes but wish there were harsher punishments for those that cheated knowing FULL WELL that there actions were exploits as stated by a dev on these very forums..

Those exploits are giving some players an unfair advantage over those refusing to cheat, they get kicked from groups etc for not cheating thus preventing those players from enjoying the same content. for me this is just as important as those getting DC as the non cheaters cannot play the dungeon either...

Skipping past mobs if u r able is not an exploit i agree(jumping over the wall in ascalon is exploit, running past mobs isent), but the others... It really upsets me that this game has turned out to be one for cheaters and not good honest players like myself. Why else would i get kicked from groups for not willing to cheat with them.. I always say it before i join the group and always on the third fractal they cheat and i get kicked with no reward for all my efforts..
Also I am utterly shocked that a dev would post all the eexploits on the forums. This problem has increased multifold since this thread has started..
I have even come across players that dont know how to complete some of the paths without using the exploits.. This astounded me...
For myself the fixes just cannot come fast enough... This has truly shown me the ugly side of human nature and i have hardly played much since this started happening to me..

same happened to me. hope they fix soon, i advise u turn off any third party programs that are sucking your bandwidth. even if it seems they r not its good to turn them off anyway when playing. I cant say more and i cant say why i cant say more.

This is getting ridiculous now, ive lost copuntof the groups I( have beebn kicked from for standing my ground and NOT cheating my way through these fractals.. Something needs tro be done and FAST.....

While my knee jerk reaction here is to agree with you ethics, i feel that may be too harsh a punishment as alot of players, however bad it may be are just following the bad examples, due to peer pressure/fear of being left behind.
I feel fractal levels reset would be good but token reset would cause an outrage.
Now i feel if they do this they mnust be careful and fair and give people a chance to adjust there playstyle. so a warning would be good and then follow through with whatever punishment the majority feels appriopriate.

I would very much like to know what is going to be done for all the players exploting fractals. Ive lost count of times ive been kicked from a fractal group because I refuse to exploit or cheat.
So, it would be great if anet would make an example of this because right now its sending the wrong message.. Explotiing is fine and you wont get punished for it. This is an oppurtunity in my opinion to make an example and clean up the game somewhat deterring any further bad play techniques.
I would very much like an official response on this as at the moment these other players have a very large advantage over players abiding by the ToS and rules of this fine game.
To the forum community I ask what punishment do you think these exploiters should have?

I think it would be a good idea to have another option in the report player system. This option is for exploitiing.
I leave it up to anet to decide on punishment for each issue but i think it a good idea. Especially when your kicked from a group for not wishing to exploit fractals.

^Actually that’s not a bad idea! I’m taking both of them to the forge and….. “Oh crap, the forge doesn’t even SEE them!!!” Ugh, at least I could have had some morbid pleasure in flushing them down the drain
