Left and right shift were separated to match control and alt’s behavior.
We expanded the usage of the previously Mac only option for using either mouse button to change direction. It’s likely that you previously played on a Mac and that option was enabled when today’s build went live.
edit: You can find the option toward the bottom of the Camera section in the General tab of Options.
I believe we have a fix for this in an upcoming release.
Gaile posted a statement about it in Announcements: Hall of Monuments Issue 06-09-2017
Can we have a gw2 client/folder for wvw/spvp only so it take less space and we can put it on SSD driver without wasting space with pve useless data.
I also want a option to turn off pve updates/downloads that we never use so i dont waste time downloading it.
This option effectively already exists.
Switch to the “On Demand” setting in the Streaming section of Options. To avoid downloading extra content you can place your characters in a smaller map, and set yourself to auto-login and auto-play. This should basically cover what you wish.
I spoke with the engineer who put in the fix: out of an abundance of caution the fix was limited to 1080 cards only. If possible, we’re going to try to expand the fix to the entire 10 series cards.
In the meantime, we’d like to try an experiment with those who are still experiencing the shadow flickering related issues: try rolling back your graphics drivers.
That’s cool. Is there also a fix for AMD cards as well?
AMD cards appear to have an unrelated issue. I don’t know anything about it unfortunately.

This should be fixed now.
This particular problem should now be fixed, if anyone else is seeing this.
The link on the welcome page is outdated and was missed when we made some updates. (This will be fixed soon.)
In the meantime, you can go here instead: https://account.arena.net/content
Tip: Placing one’s mouse over the legend for Points of Interest should highlight any which are still outstanding.
Players with bandwidth restrictions may be interested in the streaming client features; specifically the On Demand setting.
For further information about it you can read some of my previous posts here, and here.
Is there an ETA, as in next patch ?
I don’t know where in the pipe the potential fix is, just that it is in there somewhere.
Do you think they will ever address the UI issues for those using a 4k display ?
I don’t know what any plans are regarding 4k, if any.
There might be a fix for this in the pipe actually.
AWS is having network issues at this time.
If someone owns the GW2 Discs.. does this automatically convert them to 64 bit, or is it still 32 bit, and they would have to download the new installer?
The client found on the disc should patch to whatever is appropriate for your system. i.e. if you meet the specs needed for the 64-bit client, it will load it.
AWS is having network issues at this time.
My game crashes when i start the client. Example: there is a patch available on gw2 and you start the client, it just shows only the loading screen and it crashes already… hope that you understand
This sounds like symptoms of a third party program interfering with the client. Can you post the details (found after clicking on Show Details in the crash dialog)?
If it’s showing the crash report dialog, please post the details from it. (You can see it after clicking Show Details.)
If it’s showing the in-game error box, please post the error code (on bottom right, looks like xx:xx:xx:xx:xx)
edit: fixing a word

Hey guys, I was curious about this too:
It turns out, the Aetherblade set is coming in the next few days. Evon Gnashblade apologizes for the confusing wording.
I wish we could change the screenshot format… the JPGs are horribly compressed.
-bmp may be of interest.
Please post the full crash details (as a text file)
A fix for this is in the pipe. If all goes well, it should be out with today’s hotfix.
I’m not sure how up to date it is (or accurate it is in answering your question), but this page may be of interest.

09/20/2016 – September 20 Release Notes
- Reworked the Squad UI for clarity and added new features:
- Changed the text on several options to better represent what those options are.
- Commanders can now change their icons while in a squad.
This thread may be of interest. It seems like for some players recent updates to Windows might corrupt the executable(s) somehow.
new patch today, 1min after i was online -> instant crash. time to run my daily dose of -repair again
If you’re still not getting our standard crash report pop-up, you can try looking here for a crash that correlates. If you are getting our pop-up, please post the details as an attachment.
It may also be good to open a ticket with support for assistance.
this is your issue.
Thanks for the report! We’re looking into it.
No ETA on when a fix will arrive just yet.
Please post the crash details (as an attachment).
It’s found after clicking on “show details” or can be found in the ArenaNet.log file found via this page.
There is already a highlight around your own tile in the squad panel.
Could one (or more) of you post the crash details shown after clicking “show details”? Please post them as attachments.
Thank you.
This should be fixed as of today’s release.
I think ArenaNet is aware of an issue with the 64 bit client for some players. In the WvW section there is a thread about crashes since the last patch. There a dev asked for crash reports. Some of them are WvW related, but the dev said that others where game wide and that ArenaNet was looking into those crashes.
FYI, the crashes discussed in that thread are, thus far, game-wide, not WvW specific.
As for OP’s issue, without some more details it’s hard to say what might be going on. I would suspect some of the same issues from the aforementioned WvW thread.
Check the Guild Wars 2 installation directory for a crash.dmp file. If the game drops out of memory, it probably doesn’t have a crash dump though.
The ArenaNet.log section is where the text people are posting can be found after the fact, should one dismiss the crash report dialog early.

Programmer
That’s a….bit too bland even for a ‘forum approved developer answer’ imo…try again?
I guess I’m just boring.

Programmer
which of the different professions do you enjoy playing the most?
I have at least one of every profession. I’m slowly working toward having every combination.
what kind of build do you use for your character?
Most of the time, whatever floats my boat. For specific content, I sometimes try to tune things to complement my general play style and allow me to dole out the damage.
is there any particular NPC of the game that plays a major role in the story that you like the most?
Not particularly.
What’s your style, as in are you a combo-master, ranged specialist or setting up a fight for other players to assist in delivering the killing blow?
Depends on the class really, but since I’m often running solo, I tend to play a safer tactic (whatever that may be for the class.)
What are some of your favorite maps in the world of Tyria?
I’m having a tough time thinking of a favorite. There are things I like in nearly every map.
what other games do you enjoy playing if any?
I play a lot of games from casual, to shooters, to just about everything in between. I haven’t really been tempted to play a MOBA yet though.

As for switching back to the 32-bit client in the meantime:
…you can force it to stay on the 32-bit client by adding -32 to the command line.
There are several “stuck” bugs which are in the verifying stage listed on the Known Issues Tracker.
This should be fixed with today’s hotfix.
>>>>>> NOT FIXED!
There have been no new reports to our system for this particular crash since the hotfix we issued with the aforementioned fix. I have to suspect you are encountering a different issue. Could you post the newest crash text?
Please make sure to send the reports from the crash dialog too!
This should be fixed with today’s hotfix.
Is this the JobManager crash? It sounds like it.
We’re working on the fix.
This appears related to the JobManager crash I have already commented on. A fix is being worked on.
snip
This doesn’t appear related to OP’s crash.
Good news! I believe I’ve found the issue with this and am working on a fix.
Thanks for the report! The web team will get to work on it. In the mean time use: https://account.arena.net/content/download/gw2-osx32
