This should be fixed in an upcoming release.
Could you post some of these crashes you’re seeing?
Is the Mac Client de-facto 64 bit too, or just Windows client?
The Mac client is still 32-bit only at this time.
The option will not display if the other party member is in a separate region. For example if you are NA and they are EU, or vice versa.
It will automatically switch, yes.
We can login and see some graphics. Physics is the next major step.
If you have the Old Equipment Bag on the boosted character have you tried opening it?
We stated in the Q&A after the April 19th update that we have no plans to sell the boost.
I am? Hmm. Maybe that’s what’s doing it. The clients are interchangeable aren’t they? I shouldn’t have to download everything again if I just save the client in the current directory?
Correct, they are interchangeable. Simply download the 64-bit client from the account page, drop the exe alongside your 32-bit client and run it. It might download a tiny bit, but generally doesn’t need much.
c0000409 is a stack overflow. It’s difficult to say what may be causing these. However, it does appear you are using the 32-bit client on a 64-bit machine. Have you tried the 64-bit client?
The lighting change was, in fact, a bug.
Could you post the rest of the crash log please? As an attachment is preferred.
Unless it was sudden changes, this sounds like Light Adaption doing its job.
Hello, the blue/green texture indicates a failure while creating the texture. Here, the failure is likely due to trying to create a texture while the DirectX device is lost. The game usually handles this but in some cases it does not. Other failure cases can also result in the blue/green texture.
We are investigating the reports of the game becoming unresponsive while in the loading screen. Unfortunately, the commonly suggested work around of pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del to bypass the stuck loading screen also has a side effect of hitting the texture problem mentioned above. We’re looking into that too.
Yet still no word from ANET on this
.
It’s been listed on the Known Issue Tracker for at least a day.
after 8 days you finally notice !
Just because it’s not on the tracker doesn’t mean we haven’t noticed. We’ve been investigating for longer than it’s been on the tracker.
are you gonna fix this?? I purchased with gems the ability to do the livingworld season 2 , that frustrating

Could you post your crash details? You can find them here.
this may be of interest.
You’ll need -sharearchive too.
Ok thank you. So should I re-install GW2?
Generally, that will not help as the software responsible for the crash was installed separately. Using tools that can detect and remove malware would probably be better suited.
Module: LavasoftTcpService.dll
This is the cause of your issues. It is not apart of our software, but does appear to potentially be malware or at least interfering with web traffic.
I assume you mean my crash.dmp which it will not allow me to make an attachment.
If not you’ll have to be more specific what your asking for.
There are crash logs stored when your client crashes. They can be found here.
The Known Issues Tracker is a curated list, not exhaustive.
That said, each of the issues listed by Illconceived is being investigated.
Could you post some of your crash details (as attachments, please)?
Choose “On Demand” in the General Options tab under “Streaming”.
A good suggestion, thank you Jon but, what does “On Demand” actually mean?
Could you please tell us what ramifications a player will incur by changing to that setting?
i.e.
- will the game only load the map you are currently in or will it maybe load all maps you have at one time visited?
- will each new map you go to have a noticeably longer load time?
- will the other not demanded content trickle download?
- will personally never used content, like PvP, Raids and Fractals never get downloaded?
Just a bit more information will enable us to make a more personally informed decision.
The On Demand setting only downloads new information as it is needed to display the game in its current state. As such, any maps you have not already downloaded or been to will not be downloaded until such time as they are needed.
General ramifications of using it:
- There is a minimum the game must download after each patch. This is usually small, but entirely required by the game to run correctly.
- Characters/players/mobs can take a little longer to load if they have not already been downloaded. This can depend on your connection speed heavily. Characters/players will typically use a standard model until more information is available.
- Portals to maps you do not currently have will visually be different. When you approach it, the game will ask if you want to download it in the background. You can choose to continuing playing in the current map while the game downloads the necessary information. After completing it will notify you. Alternately you can wait on the loading screen. The UI of the loading screen when downloading shows the current progress of it.
Please post a screenshot so we’re on the same page. Thanks!
Check again. :-)
Bug Fixes:
- Spirit Vale
- Fixed a bug that prevented new boss kills from unlocking the vendor’s associated boss rewards.
- The raid vendor now properly sells Chests of Medium Coats.
- Salvation Pass
- Fixed a bug that caused the Sacrifice skill to occasionally target dead or downed players.
- Fixed a bug that caused Slothasor to reset randomly without warning.
- Revival checkpoints are now properly set to the ruins if players enter the raid after completing the “Cull the bandits in the ruins” event.
- Fixed a bug in Slothasor’s Den that allowed players to stand on rubble from the cave-in and attack Slothasor.
Choose “On Demand” in the General Options tab under “Streaming”.
For everyone that’s encountering this, please post your dxdiag (as attachments.)

While I am glad to hear they are trying to do something, it is a little bizarre that they are not communicating anything on the official forums so people don’t think they just gave up. I hope it works out, but the communication really needs to improve.
We don’t have much to say about it. That’s often why we are silent. I don’t want to give you all hope of something only to take it away if it doesn’t work out.
Ditto, even though I appreciate the suggestion, I really don’t want to use a BETA client. Get it in final and I will use it. I never had DC before unless there was an ISP problem. It really does need to be fixed. Maybe I wouldn’t care too much if I could restart and rejoin my squad, but even that didn’t work. Or I didn’t have wait so long for the event to start again. In this instance today it seemed the entire map and everyone on it was gone. Just me changing to a beta isn’t going to fix that. I really am not convinced that the problem is on the customers side in this instance at all. Since a patch appears to have made it happen more (OPs’ post), I highly doubt it.
This thread isn’t about a disconnect though, but a crash. The specific crash is an Out of Memory crash on the 32-bit client.
Let’s agree to stay on topic.
Switching? It doesn’t auto download the 64 bit client on a 64 bit macihne?
It’s currently in beta, so no it doesn’t.
I would recommend switching to the 64-bit client.
Jon – did you get what you needed?
Yes, that helps tie things together. Unfortunately, the details don’t help much in telling us what actually caused it in this case.
Could you post your crash details?
Could both of your post your crash details?
More they just didn’t think to implement that shortcut is all. Just like they didn’t re-add the f12 -> c shortcut to quickly log to your character select screen. that’s another one I’d like to see come back.
FYI: F12 → Enter
There is one, send an email with any screenshots you have to back up your claim along with the time, map server and anything else you have to exploits@arenanet.com
Correction: exploits@arena.net
Players are prioritized over phantasms in general, however the heal used may have not found the player a valid target for other reasons, which could allow the phantasm to become a more viable target.
Apologies for the late reply; this should be resolved as of a short time after Flintann’s post.
You can purchase character slots in the gem store.
Take a look here: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Level_rewards
The level transitions stated shows that there are no hero points awarded.
Hi Jon,
Is there any chance you can take a look at my crash text please?
Your crash(es) are unrelated to Fizwitz’s and don’t appear to tell me anything I can recommend to you.
OOM
…
OSVersion: Windows 5.1 (64 bit)
Try the 64-bit client.

Could you post the crash details as an attachment? It can either be found after clicking “show details” in our crash handler or you may look here for where to find ArenaNet.log on your system, the file that contains crash information.
That is the intended behavior while using first person.
That’s kinda what Call Target is for, no?
One major reason you may not see the option: you are in a different region from the party member. e.g. you are in NA and they are in EU.
