I’ve been in during the last two patches/new content and never saw much of anything. I think most of that content was in higher levels maybe? I just know I never saw anything where I was about it aside from a message in my interface that wouldn’t go away I was thinking it was more for end game players.
Anyway I’m enjoying it, especially watching people waste a ton of time camping holographs lol. I run by the same 10 players are there, run back on my way to sell may loot on TP and they are still there. I asked in /map why people were camping them and it got flooded with people saying to get the achievement. I know this may sound rude but considering the time frame to do so I wonder if this is what people mean when they say players gobble up content as fast as possible.
The only thing I don’t care for so far is the Moa racing because it is expensive and I thought you could stand and watch the races but it is more like you have to follow them around to see what is going on. I mostly posted this thread because it is the first update where, as a very casual player, that I have been able to enjoy so far. I think it’s pretty cool and it will give me other things to work toward in between my regular game play.
I like for the most part. I’m not a big fan of the goggles though. I was shopping for some medium head gear to transmute onto a character’s boring mask and noticed a lot of the upper level items on TP just look like an eye patch. o_O
I didn’t log in the game yet. if srs, ty but ill return it to you. this scenario is quite sad. having a player to cover for the inadequacy of A.NET that they can easily make up to. thank you for indirectly insulting A.NET, i hope you’re aware of that.
It is just a Dragon Coffer. I got at least 40 of them in an hour so I thought I’d send one your way. Keep it. I hope something cool pops out of it.
I know I’ve only been playing for a few months but I have never seen this. Since Dragon Bash went live every place I have been has been players zerg rolling everything in site. Unfortunately I’ve had to change my stance on how this was fun. For a short while it was because low level players wer with low level players rolling maps. This isn’t the case anymore.
One thing I found somewhat unfortunate though is if you find a holograph with mobs around it and you start to clear them, others will run right past you to get the holograph LOL. I’ve seen people sitting in front of inactive ones for long periods of time waiting for them to spawn too. I’ve seen people spend less time waiting for Shadow Behemoth to spawn.
Edited because the method people are using to get coffers has removed the fun out of starter areas for new players,
1.) You go in Resort A for a vacation and spend $2000 dollars and they give you a complimentary shirt when you leave.
2.) You go in Resort B for a vacation and spend $2000 dollars and they give you a lottery ticket giving you the chance to win a car and a complimentary shirt when you leave.
You know which resort to return to next time right?

I don’t really get all this fuss and lengthy posts because a spot you liked to stand on is gone. It’s a pretty big environment. Maybe instead of posting here get into the game and go find some place else to stand on and look around.
There was nice spot in the woods behind my house that I liked to go spend time in. The land was purchased by a developer and they trashed it to build crappy cookie cutter homes. Now that’s something to be unhappy about.
well they gave us something that is useless. so i guess they couldve have just given us nothing at all so you would think that their act is not good enough.
Useless to you maybe but there are a lot of mini collectors. You know those ones that buy gems for the mini packs and the limited time minis.
Once again, if they had given us nothing then you wouldn’t be here complaining.
and we give us 3 minipets that we cannot even profit from.
at least compensate our patronizing well by giving us an almost rare weapon skin.
Or they could have just given us nothing at all and probably no one would have noticed or said anything. I don’t recall seeing threads before this happened where people were saying, “I bought gems now where is my free stuff!!”
Man, some people will find reasons to complain about anything.
I didn’t intend for this to turn into some kitten measuring contest on who can make the most gold the fastest. I simply think the price for a bet at 50s is a bit much. I was hoping several of these events would cater to all types of players including new players, causal players and people that play more, farm for gold and what not.
I just think for players like myself, and I’m guessing many more, 50 silver hits a budget pretty hard. It is an event that seems to alienate those with limited in game budgets unless they buy gems for gold. Maybe that is part of the idea. Who knows. I’m not “crying” as one person claimed. It is just my observation and opinion. Like I said in my OP, I tried it once and that’s it. I’m not upset I’m just not going to work it into my budget.
But for all of you with 500,000,000 gold you farmed in a week send me some and I’ll be off to the tracks.
Not really I’d save it, convert it to gems, maybe even mail some to random people just to make their in game day.

Not at all. I imagine that the reason people are blowing their wigs over them, farming every spot in open world the second the patch launched was to get these items which are indeed cosmetic novelty items.

Uhh… I don’t see anyone saying they got 50 tickets. I see people saying they got none from the gem store crates. So I suggest they farm the free ones so they don’t lose money. GG
Dont be Smug I’m not the only person this is happened to ANet or NCsoft should just sell the dam tickets for 1200 Gems would make the community happy and people wouldnt waste tons of real money on the game and Ill probably end up getting a refund anyways so im not to worried about it.
The regular dragon coffers are all over the place in the open world. Plus there are a ton for sale on TP for about 15 silver. They have a chance as well just not as good as the gem store ones according to the patch notes. The one thing I strongly disagree with the gem store RNG chest is that they don’t post the odds.
Rich Dragon Coffers contain all the same items as the Dragon Coffers* *that drop commonly from Dragon Bash enemies, but have better chances at rare items.
As I said earlier if they sold tickets outright they would lose their novelty because a ton of people would have them. It would end up looking close to everyday armor/weapons. People would use it for awhile then shelf it because people would be running around all over with it and it wouldn’t feel special anymore.
The regular coffers are dropping left and right in the open world from holograms and regular mob drops. That may be a better chance for those that don’t want to buy RNG boxes.
Also if they sold the skins outright almost everyone would have them and then they probably wouldn’t seem so special.

LOL, that seems like your problem not the games. From past experience/information on RNG crates you should have known the chances are slim. So your response is to spend $40 then delete the game? Something tells me that Anet won’t be going out of business because of you deleting the game, but I’m sure they appreciate you $40 and thanks for playing.
Lol well this is true. you can buy coffers from bltc from people who are selling, a bit pricey though.
I’d buy some from the TP but after one lost bet on a Moa I’m broke.
50 silver a bet. Thats what I get for being one of those worthless, dirty, casual players with no goals or direction.
Kidding aside, I think it is great that they add new content like this (Dragon Bash as a whole) for players that have been around for awhile.
If you are having trouble finding them you can head to a less populated server, go to a higher level area, or guest around in different areas. Don’t get discouraged or try to farm too much in “easy” zones

166 5 pack instant repair canisters. The way I play including constant falling off vistas, falling off jump puzzles, falling off random places, falling off places no one else even knew you could fall off of, going (A.F.K) in a waypoint that often gets contested because I’m an idiot, making a habit of being the first to die in WvW and repeating that over and over until all my armor is busted, and basic stupidity they would pay off in no time.
That or convert it all to gold and buy as many Black Lion Chests as I could and then mail them to random people. I’m sure that would make those without keys happy :p
It is against forum rules to name players that you believe have caused a problem. So you should edit that. I don’t know if support actually does anything about players that are not nice unless they break the EULA/Code of Conduct. You can try following the support link at the top of this page and choose “Ask A Question” However keep in mind that support staff is probably flooded with issues and such a report might slow down support for people with larger issues. In my opinion your best bet is to just not join another party with that player, the player’s guild, and the others in the party.
Some people have claimed to have resolved this by changing the language to French to complete the download and then back to English. I know it worked for some Mac users and I think I saw some PC users claim the same thing. I know it sounds weird but it seems to have worked for some people.
Yes several people have reported changing it to French to finish the download then back to English worked. I’m not sure why as that seems weird. I know a few people in the Mac forums said it worked and I think a few PC as well.
At 50 silver a pop it gets a bit pricey. I know it isn’t meant to be something you can do 100 times easily to win. However it makes it kind of hard to enjoy for players like myself that are more casual and newer to the game. Having only 5 gold that I earned after almost 2 1/2 months and one lost 50 silver bet I’m pretty much done with that.
wouldnt call the alternate paths in queensdale jumping puzzle false. most have a bonus chest so i normally pick them up anyway.
True but you don’t get credit for puzzle completion until you take the right path. Like in my case I thought I had finished it but that turned out to be false.
I don’t know I see some people where they said they did that and got a ban until it was resolved by support. It appears it can flag your account as suspicious but they claim there is no auto ban script. If you have more questions maybe post in the thread I linked for more feedback.
Oh and I’d like to add that some jump puzzles at least the one I know of in Queensdale seem to have false paths. The first time I tried it I thought I got to the end because I found a small chest but then when I looked at my achievement for monthly it showed no completion. I wondered why it seemed so easy. So I fiddled around until I found the right path where the big chest was at the end.
I will never do a run advertised as a “speed run” simply for the fact that people are way too serious about knocking a minute off their completion time for a dungeon. If 1 or 2 minutes more is unreasonable for you then you are not the kind of player I want to associate with. I have had some really great times in CoF and some of my fastest runs have been without warriors, also some of my slowest runs have been with warriors. There are plenty of people who want to do P1 and don’t mind it taking a little bit longer, don’t mind any classes joining and are just as easy to find as fast runs if not easier.
When I ever figure out where and what CoF is and what a P1 is I’m looking you up for help. /friends I’m still roaming around the maps exploring and with a Ranger at that. Given what I have read in this and many threads I’m doomed if I ever try to find a group to show me what it is all about.
They are scattered about. Some sites have maps showing where they are. There is one in Queensdale in the south east corner of the map in a cave by a centaur camp. That one was pretty easy for me and I’m terrible at jumping. The hardest part is the end where all those blobs are because they are scattered about with veterans. It’s probably a good intro to jump puzzles though.
There is another one in Lions Arch that I know of. It is by a vista where you have to jump on some hay to get to. The entrance to the cave is in the same area. You go through some leaves from the hay and slide down a water fall. I got close to finishing but ended up wiping from a fall so I’ll have to visit it later.
Those are the only two I have found so far but they are scattered about in different areas including WvW maps. I just have not found them yet because I enjoy looking for them myself instead of looking it up. It makes exploring much more fun for me.
Also another fun thing to look for are high dives. I have found two, one is in Lions Arch and is easy to find from exploring and I think the other I found was in Metrica. Basically you put on a dive mask and jump off. You can push keys for different moves. I don’t know if it really means anything but it’s kind of fun to find and do.
Also note the gathering candy approach. If the wings don’t drop you can just hoard up enough candy to buy them outright, or so I read it. Typically the event currency drops like that have been all over the world, including starter areas.
Also typically people complain that the monsters guarding the currency are too hard
Thanks for the info. I was hoping I can do more of the events than watch fireworks all day and farm candy but I suppose I may have to. I hope I don’t eat the candy first.

I understand where both of you guys are coming from. I appreciate everyone’s input and the next raffle will be less than 1 Gold, so that everyone even new comers to the game can participate. I’m just trying to build a good reputation so most of the skepticism will go away.
I’m sure your intentions are good and you are trying to build a better community and I think that’s great. Unfortunately people will remain skeptical when it comes to sending money to someone they don’t know. I was trying to think of a way I could help you with this but I don’t play much and after armor repairs from WvW today I am broke
Perhaps finding a very well known player/guild to hold the money and verify how much money was raised would be helpful. Also if many people do enter you will probably have more gold than the cost of the items you are giving away. People will want to see/know exactly where that money is going aside from saying for better prizes later. People may think you are talking about a better prize for yourself. I’m kidding

It would be nice if they added a cod feature to the mail system. And not allow anything stupid like gift wrapping. Also have the cod mail have a short timer on it before it is auto sent back if not collected. Like an hour or so, this way a person cant say yea send it cod and never accept it and keep the item in limbo.
The problem with mail trading is that people would be spamming /map non-stop. If they had a trade channel it would be so full of non-stop posts it would be almost painful to try to follow because people would be spamming it non-stop as well.
I imagine this is one reason why it is discouraged in GW2 and why it is fairly risky if you do it.
The 8th was yesterday. I believe there can be about a 72 hour window before you should be concerned about not getting an answer. Also if you are thinking of submitting another ticket for the same issue this can slow down the response. Just throwing that out there because I see people here do that a lot.

Like are those minions going to be some high level thing to kill? Is that arena some WvW thing? What about the meta achievements? The only thing I could figure out was I could watch some fireworks and get a hat. My concern is that those holograms are going to be in the most difficult areas otherwise people would hang out in low areas to farm them. I pretty much just want the holographic shattered wings but I’m not sure what the meta events mean. I’m sure they are not going to hand out a bunch of cool stuff just for watching fireworks.
Cool I got my long awaited transfer. I’m glad because on my old server the players were not very nice or helpful. It wasn’t uncommon to see things in /map like “Does anyone have the timer of SB?” Response,“I already did it so I don’t care.”

If you aren’t actually using any of those items in your storage, then why even keep them?
You have a mountain of black lion harvesting equipment, but it is completely useless if all it does is sit in your bank all day long.
Use some of it, or delete it.

If you don’t have enough storage space, i guarantee you are just hoarding.
If you have purchased all available upgrade tabs, you cannot possibly fill all of said tabs in your bank with useful items.
Fill 50g worth of storage space with 2g worth of dyes …. LOGIC.
The OP simply suggested it would be nice to be able to buy more bank spaces. Why do you care what people want to use them for to the extent that you had to blow your wig over it?
The OP can keep a bank full of scraps for all I care. I think it’s a great idea and would be great for more gem sales. Better than RNG right? If they make more bank slots I’m going to buy them and fill them with junk instead of selling them to vendors and PM you with a picture.
