I took my level 40 into WvW today and kept getting farmed by the same thief. I wish they would nerf that
Could be worse lol…
Man my colorblind eyes could make a mess out of that
Maybe you could help your better half make supper??
Thanks,
Asura with too many cute hats..No place to put all this stuff…
At least you have that problem. I did some WvW today of course way under leveled since I’m enjoying the game and not in a rush to level to 80. After about 30 minutes with the big “please kill me first then run away” sign above my head I had to sell almost everything to pay for all my armor repairs.

Your mini gets extra loot but it is all soul bound to it
So what do the procedes go to? I mean all the gold you raise from the raffel where does it go after paying for the dyes if enough gold has been collected to cover it? Also how are you determining the winners? Are you running some kind of random number script and if so what type and what will the procedure be? Is a third party player somehow auditing the raffel for legitimacy?
I’m not trying to be a jerk but I think knowing this information would be helpful before investing gold in a raffle.
Well if you have a suggestion you could post in the suggestion forum. If you just want to talk about it then here. Just be ready for a lot of arguing
I got to server with my friends. It seems like it gets no time delay for account without charachters. Ty for replies and nice gaming moments to everyone
Glad it worked for you and welcome to the community.
Since you hinted that you have not played much there is the option of deleting all your characters and transferring for free. Just pointing that out as an option.
I really like the minis too. I just wish they would keep up with me. I turn around and the darn thing is half a map away trying to catch up lol. I also wish I didn’t have to reopen them after zone changes. It would be nice if they stayed open like pets and minions.
bump,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Not that this thread need that, you got all the info you need above.
You bumped a thread where the last post was 8 hours ago just to state that??
lol
i read that you guys dont have any plans for a expansion but its getting repetetive and players are getting tired and tired of playing , most players now log 5 mins do the daily and leave
I never really understood when people say this. If you are not playing or not going to play anymore what is the point in logging in for 5 minutes just to do a daily? If you are bored and not playing then there doesn’t seem to be a reason spending those 5 minutes doing so.
My personal style is to level by playing through and enjoying the content. Keep in mind I don’t have a character over level 40. With a new character I tend to complete the starter maps for each race with mixing my personal story in between. Because of this there are tons of areas outside the starter maps I have yet to see but I’m looking forward to it. Doing starter maps and city map exploration is a decent way to level for early levels just from the exploration XP alone. Also part of map completion is doing the hearts.
As far as being higher level and going to the lower levels it is much easier but you are scaled down so you won’t be running around 1 shoting everything in site.
Free? I think the $150 i spent for the collectors edition was worth a decent amount. I mean, maybe you’re just stacked & throw cash left & right, but that’s a good chunk of change to us losers.
You actually think it’s worth spending huge amounts of time to transfer gold into a small number of Gems, for a gamble mechanic that you are forcing the end-game into because you support it with your purchases?
I don’t want to thank you, I want to blame you.
So if no one bought gems you would still be able to play every month because of your initial $150 purchase or would there be a subscription fee?
You can enjoy playing all you want for $150 without spending another dime. What would happen if everyone did that? You don’t have to buy anythings else. That is your prerogative and you are casting your vote against such items by not buying them. However someone has to buy those gems or else everyone will see what /endgame really means.
Yeah I never thought trading via mail was a good idea. It’s too easy to get ripped off. Here is a thread from someone that wanted to sell using mail and wanted the gold first. I hope it isn’t them:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Trading-per-Mail
If they ride a broomstick.
I’ve done it. I got a copper ore. I sold it on the TP for 3 copper. I was pleased with the end result.
I turn it off as its just as broken and useless as it is here. It filters out the middle of words that contain offensive language in the words base or construction of the said word. Like the 6th day of the week (sa"tu—-rd"ay) or Romaji in case we will need it when the game gets Cantha and we get a slew of Asian gamers here and need to communicate with them if they do not know English (if you know Chinese or Japanese or Korean and you know the English character form of writing their words, (pinyin and Romaji and w/e it is for Korean) you will be foiled by that filter every time.) Also many other languages can have s, h, i, and the letter t in the base of the word or words.another would be letter c, u, n, and t and c, u, and m!! I’m sure the English language and other languages have those letter harmlessly being in the middle of words…
Try typing Japanese words in phonetic form in game and see what happens.
So the filter is a nuisance for that reason and its why some may choose to keep it off.
Thank you for explaining this. I imagine you will still get people complaining because it seems so important to them that they be able to say things like, “kitten I just fell again.” I don’t know what it is but apparently it is critical to a fully enjoyable game experience.
As someone else said, you can level fast crafting to 400 in each skill. However this takes a lot of gold or real money to buy the gems for the gold if you don’t have all the mats which most probably don’t who do this.
I had an alt I didn’t want to run through stuff I had already done so I did this. The cost was roughly between 10 – 15 gold for each craft. I used these guides and followed them to the letter and they were very accurate:
http://www.guildwars2hub.com/crafting
Prices are a bit more than they listed due to cost of mats going up since it was created. If you do this make sure to use buy offers on TP and that will save you around 15-25 % than if you buy them at cost.
Curse words can be used to express yourself and convey a meaning to other people as well as anything else. Examples:
Oh kitten it
For kitten’s sake!
There’s nothing wrong with it, especially having in mind that people that don’t want to see such language can have the filter on.
There are hundreds of thousands of words that can be used to express yourself outside of the realm of cursing. Believe it or not a lot of people usually see someone that has an extended vocabulary outside of 4 letter words as a sign of maturity and intelligence.
I still don’t see the benefit of taking the time to type something like, “Oh kitten” in chat. Can you tell me what is so captivating about stopping to type that in chat? Do the people in /map give you a lot of positive feedback when you do so?
You are arguing that the chat filter should allow someone to say fall off a cliff, pause, then type kitten in chat is okay when it has been said over and over that the filter does not make it acceptable. So you can either accept that or you can test it in chat yourself and see where that gets you.

Hello, this should answer your question

And this thread:

People also often forget that SOMEONE has to buy the gems for you to trade for gold. You don’t BUY the gems from Anet with your gold. you trade with other players.
The game isn’t free & neither are the gems.
Actually I’m one of the ones that buys gems with real money so you can play for free. You’re welcome.
Also, You can’t get mats from the lockboxes, so no, you didn’t make decent coin from it.
Hmmm.. I must be losing my mind because every time I bought a south sun crate or what every they are called I got some kind of shells, some other kind of thing I don’t remember what they are called and some kind of flowers. I sold all of them for a fair amount of coin. Maybe not as much as the gold I used to buy the gems but a fair amount. I’ll take you some screen shots next time I get one.
Oh no here we go again… Get ready for people complaining that Anet is greedy because they are trying to make a profit.
I don’t think it’s about the profit, it’s the fact that they spend more time making (since they said their chase is Aesthetic) endgame items you BUY then end game items you EARN. So they are saying if you want to play because you like having aesthetic goals, basically: go eff yourself.
I mean they took the time to build an entire animated set of weapons for Last Stand. & made 2 back pieces you can actually PLAY to earn. Sorry, that’s just laughable. I was a huge supporter or Anet, but I’m fining it harder & harder to defend what they do now. Maybe that’s the price of being profitable. Might just be how it goes..
You don’t have to BUY anything with real money. Everything can be obtained from in game gold wich you can acquire for FREE by PLAYING. You can PLAY and earn that gold and use it to buy gems. With those gems you can access the exact same content as someone with a credit card.
Now if they created a bunch of content that you could only purchase with real cash then I could see people being unhappy. However, I’d wager that even that stuff would sell like hotcakes so I guess we can feel lucky that isn’t the case.
I never understood the argument along the lines of “If I fall off a cliff sometimes I say kitten”. You are not saying it you are typing it. Isn’t it a bit more difficult to type kitten than it is to express it verbally to yourself? Does it really enhance other’s game play that you take the time to type, “Kitten I fell” in chat? Does the end viewer fell a greater since of your frustration because you typed kitten?
Most consider cursing as an adult language. A reasonable adult will know when and where they should not curse. I don’t see any value at all in taking the time to type, “Oh kitten”. Although I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of you have curse word macros. There is nothing especially cool about cursing. Perhaps open a dictionary and learn some better ways to express yourself.
I ignore people that ignore the living story.

if you don’t want to pay for repairs, find a border when your forces are outmatched. You’ll receive a nice boon that, among other things, prevents your armor from being damage.
And then prepare to die, a lot
See this is where I get lost. I don’t know what a border is or how to tell if it is outmatched. I just open the WvW terminal and click enter. I don’t know how to find a zerg or any area where there are a lot of people on my team. I try by looking at the map or by running around looking for this but the end result is always death.
I’ve already come to the conclusion that death multiple times and every time is guaranteed.
I think I’ll just forget about it until I get closer to 80.
Its not about payment, its moreso about the RNG odds, listen, I could take the same 1000 dollars I have spent on the real lottery, chances are, I will win at least a few dollars back or perhaps be rich and use my riches to help fund a new mmorpg more tailored to what I want.
I have yet to purchase an RNG chest and get nothing. Usually I get some mats that I sell on the TP for some decent coin. I’ve never bought one and clicked to open it and there was nothing. Maybe I’m just one of the few lucky ones.
Buy a $10 scratch off and a lot of the time you will win $2.00 – $5.00 or so and sometimes you will win a bit more. Most times if you buy scratch offs regularly you will lose more money than you win. Buy a PowerBall ticket and for that dollar you will almost always, if not always, get a piece of paper you can crumble up and put in your pocket or start a fire with or whatever else you want to do with it.
People often tend to ignore the fact that everything in the game can be bought with in game gold and technically costs you nothing but time playing a game.
(edited by JustTrogdor.7892)
I did mention the big “please kill me first” arrow and I think it should be removed from WvW.
I’d love to operate some siege weapons if I could actually get to a place alive to use them. I found a few but they were in empty places on the map. After shooting a few at nothing just to see what happened I got bored pretty quick and moved on to earn my next set of armor repairs.
You can review this topic here:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Why-Town-Clothes-can-only-be-worn-in-town
While we are at it let’s let people inflate their heads like Charlie Brown characters.
If you like paying for armor repairs
I know the claim is that anyone of any level can join WvW which is technically true but I’m having some problems. Maybe I’m missing something so I’m posting here for help.
My first experience was when I was about level 10. I jumped in and after stumbling around trying to find my way I found 3 other players. So I thought I would follow them to the fun. After a short while two enemies ran upon us. Me, bound, 1 hit, dead. I didn’t even know they were there until I saw them run past my corpse. Okay no big deal I just left.
Second attempt about level 20. Okay, find some more players to follow because I was looking for the zerg. I was falling behind a bit. Suddenly I’m dead. Killed by one player one shot. Okay I’ll try again later.
Today, level 36 and I decide to give it another go. I head in and start exploring the map trying to find a battle. Not much was going on but I saw a skill point marker and some vistas so I figured while I was there I’d knock those out. I killed a few mobs, spiders and such fairly easily so I though today was my day. While my fault I wasn’t paying attention I walked to close to a red NPC. One shot my pet is dead I run, one shot I’m dead.
I understand that being scaled up I won’t have everything a true 80 has. I just don’t think WvW is really for lower levels unless you want to run around the safe zones doing vistas and what not. I’m sure it is different for higher levels in 60’s and 70’s but it seems if you are lower than that you don’t have a chance. Then you throw in the green arrow which is basically a big sign above your head that says kill me lol.
This may come off as me complaining or whining but I’m really not. I didn’t expect to go into WvW and dominate. I just thought I would be able to enjoy some aspects of it aside from sneaking around trying to get to vistas. If I really enjoyed paying for armor repairs I’d spend more time there
I know the best thing for low level is to do support tasks or hide in a zerg but I can’t even find one or get to one in one piece. So what am I missing? Is there something I’m doing wrong? Should I just go in naked so my armor doesn’t get dinged up because no matter if I’m wearing max for my level it doesn’t seem to matter.
Oh no here we go again… Get ready for people complaining that Anet is greedy because they are trying to make a profit.
I hate when there are environmental weapons scattered about and I am flying around some event with a ton of mobs so I’m quick looting with ‘F’ as I run buy and accidentally pick up a plank or other nonsense and don’t notice it at first. LOL
Just wondered why low leveling seems to be much harder now than what it was before. Especially if you are higher ranked than the area you are in.
I don’t really understand that either. For example when I take, say a level 15, to a level 5 area I’m almost 1 hitting everything in my path. Then I take the same character, now level 25 or so to the same area I’m not getting beat up but it is like I have to hit them 3 or 4 more times than before. I’m sure it is just some game mechanic that I don’t understand but it does seem odd. I’m aware of the down leveling but it seems weird that a 25 down leveled would be worse than a 15 down leveled.
I just started doing a personal story with my 36 and almost got killed by a group of 6 level 5 mobs lol.
Omg, very good i took a screen and all that stuff, but its so easy to do it that i didnt think of doing that, thx.
Also you can try submitting a ticket to support and they be able to help you:

If you are not having fun, dont play the game.
That’s what I fear. Is that I have lost the fun factor. I want to have fun, I really do. I don’t play to be the best player out there, or have the most achievements, or boast about kills, etc. I just log in from time to time, to have a bit of fun, and I find myself not finding that “fun” feeling anymore. Just wish I knew where I lost it at. When I find myself getting frustrated, I know I have lost the spirit of the game. That alone is depressing.
Try taking a break then. I don’t mean that in a smart allec way. There isn’t anything wrong with that and you don’t have anything to lose. There is no monthly subscription. So that shouldn’t be an issue. I play very little compared to most people and when I find myself getting frustrated I just shrug it off and find something else to do.
I have been doing only PvE and my highest level character is only 36. I have an alt for every profession though. I have found a few areas tough for PvE but I go do something else, play another profession or what not and when I come back for a fresh look I usually find a solution. I thought rolling into a starter area with a higher level would make it easy but sometimes I’ve found it more difficult than when I did it with a low level character.
In game you can right click their name and select the report option.
So if point 5. If there are 2+ million players now doing Gw2. should we nerf Arena by not playing or not spending real money on BLT as its an exploit from Arena to its players ?
Go for it. Start the movement.
I sell homemade potholders door-to-door.
I’m excluding everyone that posted in this thread from my group including myself.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/future-possibility-of-mounts
Already been discussed. No need for this thread as it is just another repeat of threads past.
It’s just the monthly “I want mounts because other games have them” thread.
I think it has something to do with Phantasmal Mage but I may be off the mark.
Or it could be the reason there are no Mages in GW2. They all went on strike. :P
No. . . . . . . . . .
oh why no?
I gave you an example above.
Every time I’m waiting with a group of players for some event there is always some nimrod in his/her underwear running around in circles and jumping up and down. I suppose they are hoping for something like this to occur:
/map
Player A: OMG do you guys see that guy running around in his underwear? LOL that’s hilarious.
Player N: HAHA yes I saw it. That’s freaking insanely funny. I took a bunch of screen caps and I’m gonna put them on my Facebook. LOL
Player F: Man that is a riot. Look at that guy. HAHAHAH
Player K: I took a video. I’m going to put it on Youtube as soon as the event is over. This is classic.
The only point of underwear is so your toon doesn’t look like naked Barbie or Ken doll when you are swapping out gear.
No. . . . . . . . . .
I prefer to do each starter zone first. You get the map completion rewards which are a nice little bonus and it is fun to see the different aspects of each zone, switch things up a bit. Also don’t forget your personal story.
If you are talking about the +1 to the right of posts people can click it if they like a post to give it a good rating.
The rest I’m not sure what you mean.
so your saying this game isnt for me…..
It can’t be for everyone. No game can.
I agree. I enjoy being able to ask a question in /map and actually get an answer instead of getting whispers like, "LoLs noob’.
I enjoy being in the middle of an event or when I’m in a touchy situation and someone runs up and helps me for no reason. I’ve seen this on skill point markers many times. On some of the more difficult ones, if someone sees me heading that way they often follow me and then jump in when I need help.
As opposed to many MMOs I have played, I actually don’t feel like I have to have /map turned off most of the time because the conversation is typically interesting without much trolling.
