What confuses me though is that the character created was still at the start of its starter mission. If it quit out of there and was used for gold seller spam, surely it wouldn’t go back to that mission in the next relog?

If you didn’t create the character yourself and you are sure of that there are only 2 things that could have happened.

1. You were hacked and if so follow the advice above about securing your account and contacting support.
2. Someone with access to your computer accessed your account and created the character. If so make sure you logout and secure your password.

There is nothing wrong with taking a break. I’m not sure where you live but for many it is the start of Spring. Perhaps take this time to get outside and hike and enjoy the weather after a long winter. There is a whole big massive world out there waiting for you. It is much more massive than Tyria with a lot of hidden secrets to find.

Haha. You guys are getting trolled so hard. Just look at the OP’s post history. I’ll break it down for you:

• Gem store = Evil
• Expansions every year or less.
• I know game monetization better than all the professionals that work for Anet.
• Expansions, expansions, expansions..
• Gem store = evil and if I want what is in the gem store and wish to buy it for gold it it is grind.
• If I want it and have to do anything I don’t like to do to get it, it is grind.

That’s basically it. You can keep arguing with him all you want. The results will never change.

Anet does not provide phone support. You will have to go through the support ticket process.

If you want a refund you will need to contact support. Follow the support link a the top of the page then the submit a request link located on the top right of that page.

OP, you can’t change your name and I doubt support will change it for you. Your original name was determined to violate the naming policy by Anet. When this occurs Anet changes the name to one of their choosing which is usually an anagram of the name that was changed. I’m afraid you will have to deal with the name Anet gave you.

Also regarding your support request. You should only submit one support ticket as submitting duplicate tickets actually slows response time. You should close your second ticket.

It is a bug that others have reported in the bug forum. It isn’t likely that someone linked their GW1 account to yours. That would be very, very difficult to do by accident.

Based on what I have read since your accounts are linked, you should be able to login to your GW1 account with your GW2 credentials.

I don’t have a GW1 account linked but I found this post that should answer your question since you said the accounts are linked.

To find out is they are actually linked, log into your Guild Wars 1 account. If it is linked, the log in will now be the same as your Guild Wars 2 login. The link ties the two together and changes the Guild Wars 1 login to the Guild Wars 2 login.

If you try to log in and you have to use your original Guild Wars 1 login, then they are not linked.

Back pieces have never been able to be dyed and I doubt they ever will be. If you didn’t like them black why did you buy them? You will have to wait for the other colored wings. I’m guessing they are on the way. Then we will see posts here like, “OMG I bought the black wings and the white ones are so much better. I want a refund!”

When the launcher opens click the flag for French located at the upper right then click the restart button when it pops up. To change it back to English one done do the same.

One person said you only have to let it download about a quarter of the way then switch back. Plus it didn’t completely restart or it would be much more than 16k files. You can try to stop it an switch back to English to see if it works or let it finish and then switch back. I suggest the later.

Well this thread is regarding Mac issues. If you are running Windows to enable the streaming client you have to right click the shortcut, select properties and then this:

You have to put the -StreamingClient after the quote marks and with a space between the " and the -

If the above fixes don’t work for you try this. It was a bug a few years ago. When stuck at one file, for some people if they changed the language to French and then let it download then change back to English it fixed the problem. I’m not sure if the fix still applies but it worked today for some using Mac with the same problem. I know it sounds odd but I’m not kidding. Here are some threads from where it worked in the past:

tried -StreamingClient and the assetrv but I get the error “The name … specified in the target box is not valid, make sure path and filename are correct”.

I pretty much just copy and pasted so there shouldnt be any spelling mistake and if I just have “C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” Im back to the problem of the 1 file with 0% progress

Did you try the language switch to French as mentioned above? Let us know if it works.

Haha I see the bug is back but glad it worked for you. Since it worked for you spread the word if you see other Mac users stuck. I suggest they try Taylor’s first and if that doesn’t work then the language fix.

What does this fix? I haven’t had any issues yet aside from reduced framerate.

It is a fix for people that can’t complete the download.

There is only one thing I can think of some of you might try if Taylor’s fix doesn’t work. It was a problem about 2 years ago with Mac people stuck on one file. The fix was to change the language to French and let it finish downloading then back to English. Like I said I don’t know if it is still applicable but it did work in the past.

I looked at them on Dulfy. The Human and Norn faces don’t look much different at all, not even from the already available faces. Nothing really stood out that made me think, “I want that.” I was really hoping for more variation such as faces that look older.

One note, though you can place buy orders for most of the more common mats to save even more gold if you don’t mind waiting a few for them to fill. Also cooking and jewel crafting are usually the most affordable way to craft level.

It doesn’t mean anything. It is randomly created when you select your display name. The only real purpose it has is if someone picks the same display name as your it indicates they are not the same player.

Nope, the character deletion process requires you to type in a name as a fail safe. You are out of luck.

Axe is a single handed weapon so if you don’t have another weapon equipped in the offhand slot you will only have 3 skills. Also your last two skills related to your offhand weapon will only be available if you unlocked them.

If your new code is legitimate support should be able to help you use it to create a new account. They might be able to help you apply it to your old account and get it unbanned, I don’t know. Either way a support ticket is the way to go.

Do you mean your first account was closed due to an illegal code? You can’t apply a new code to an account that has been terminated to recover it. You will need to contact support again.

Well if it is that important to you then there really is only one option. Salvage or sell all soul bound items that can be, bank everything else, delete your character and start over. Consider it a new journey that will free yourself from the chains of your current order.

You have more than 1 character slot, there are 5. Why not just start a new character on one of those slots and keep your current character?

Look your idea is bad. I’m sorry to break that to you. No one likes the idea of drops being “bound”. Adding more bound items to the loot table that someone may not even be able to use or profit from is a terrible idea.

So if I rep TTS as one of my guilds to do Teq and I get a guild bound drop as loot it is bound to them even though my main guild that I spend most of my time with is say a good group of friends that do PvE and could maybe benefit from the item. So again it is a useless drop. Yeah that’s not going to work. I get what you are trying to suggest but it just isn’t practical.

And if a player is not in a guild then what? They become garbage that was added to the loot table? Plus for players in multiple guilds how does it work when it drops? Is it bound to the guild they are representing at the time?

Putting a soul bound item in a bank and then deleting the character does not remove the soul bind. It will remain soul bound in the bank and can only be deleted at that point.

Why are you SOL? You made the choice to do 100% map completion including WvW and got the rewards for doing so. Would you have rather waited for 100% map completion on your 8 characters for over 2 1/2 years for the opportunity to do it without having to do WvW? Nothing is being taken away from you. I think what you meant to say is, “I had to do it this way so everyone else should too.”
