Gotcha, thanks everyone. Reason I asked is because I have two friends who are new to the game now and they were asking about the transmutation charges. It was so long ago I transmuted my 80 that I didn’t even remember how I got my stuff to do it.
If your friends are new I’d suggest they save them up. Leveling happens so fast and armor changes so often it is isn’t worth it to spend the charges while leveling. Tell them to save them for L80.
Yes it was the same way before sort of. The old way you got transmute stones from either the gem store, BLCs, or map completion. This way you get transmute charges from gem store or map completion.
The big difference with the new way is that your skins are added to your wardrobe. So when you transmute you don’t lose the skin and can use it a many times as you want.
Sprint is much more fun even if I never get close to winning.
Sprint is pretty easy to win but it does involve a little bit of luck. If you can get an aspect master boost out of the first 2 or 3 power ups out of the gate and be the first one to get to the power up that drops a fake (that knocks back others) you can cruise to a win. At that point you are out front and every offensive power up will give you more fakes and you can just spam them in areas where people can’t avoid them like some of the platforms. Even if the player behind you has the grounded skill that can avoid the fake they don’t get enough to avoid all your fake spams. The winner of sprint is usually decided in the first 15 seconds or so of the race due to what I explained.

Anet will not transfer an account to another server via request on a forum post. There are only two ways to transfer, paid transfer or transfer for free via deleting all characters.
As your friend is new I would suggest the transfer via deleting characters option. Your friend should first make sure they put everything they want to keep in their bank first. All bank items will transfer with them.

Yes, just make sure you put everything in your bank first from all characters on your account. All wallet items and other account accomplishments will remain as well. Keep in mind with full servers you will have to wait for an opening to transfer to them no matter if you pay to transfer or do so for free by deleting characters.

There is a difference between posting his offer once and then once again five or ten minutes later and “spamming”.
Yes and if 5 -10 players start doing that, posting offers for home instance nodes every five or ten minutes map chat turns into a trading channel and all other map discussions turn into a big mess. It’s already a mess as it is with guild spam. We don’t need more.
Just like Anet recently made a statement about using LFG to sell. If it becomes a problem they will ban it.

Your father’s best bet is to make friends and offer the service privately.
So what about map chat?
Map chat is not intended for bartering any sorts of trades or services. This could cause problems for being reported for spam.
Not allowed. Source:

Your friend needs to update their ticket by responding to the email that support sent. Do not submit a second ticket as this will slow response time.
Nope.
Odd the OP never returned to their own thread up to this point. I guess some people just like starting fires.
Thread isn’t even a day old. Not everyone keeps checking in every hour on the hour.
Though you are right — there are some people that enjoy starting fires.
I agree not everyone visits the forum that often. However, I would think someone that starts a thread of this nature would check back for feedback related to their issue if it was that important to them. It just seems like a hit and run to me. I see that kind of thing here regularly.
I can’t address the issue at hand but OP I would suggest you contact support regarding your display name as it is against the naming policy. If you do so, maybe they will let you select a new one (not likely but maybe if you plead you didn’t know better you might have a chance). If they find it before that they will change it to something of their choosing which is usually an anagram.

If they verify that your account was indeed hacked yes they will restore it. Normally the response time window from support is 3 days or less. However with the influx of new tickets due to the recent sale it looks like they have changed it to 7 days.
You should have already received an auto response email to your ticket. If you do not receive a personal response after 7 days you can post your ticket number in the, “for review” sticky thread located here:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/GW2-Tickets-for-Review-7-days-older/

Yes Anet will restore your account back to the way it was prior to being hacked including replacing your lost characters. It might take some time as account restorations involve some degree of investigation. You most likely will also be asked to secure things on your end such as your email address and running scans for virus and malware.
Additionally support is running a bit slower than usual due to the recent game sales. Keep in mind do not submit a second ticket as this will slow response time even more.
wait, it means I can find my friends online even playing in a different server?
For PvE yes as long as you are in the same region (NA or EU). The only limitation is WvW, you have to be on the same server to join you friends.
You will need to contact support to get your items back. Follow the support link at the top of the page then the submit a request link located on the top right of that page.

It is something support requests from time to time:
What is it about asuras and dungeons? The height?
Finishing dungeons as a non-asura? To be honest I don’t see the advantage being an asura brings, nor have I noticed a particular prevalence of them in my runs…
You don’t get it. The gif is of a bunch of much shorter people reaching up to give a high five to a taller person. So, as the only non-asura when the dungeon is over you are getting a high five from the other 4 shorter asura characters. It has nothing to do with any sort of advantage it is simply a reference to the difference in height.

ok super I didn’t so I’ll probably be fine but the scamming me out of my 4G is that reportable? Because I usually report such things under scamming but not sure wether thats correct?
As mentioned in the link I posted above, it is reportable but sometimes difficult for Anet to validate the scam. Reporting under scamming is the proper way to do so.
I got kicked out of dungeon as well today weirdly enough the scammer reported me for what he called “lfg abuse” very strange kitten.
So now I’m 4G less in my pocket and got reported for something I didn’t do -_-Devs give me some clarification is it against the rules to buy a dungeon path?
It’s not the way its meant to be used we all know that but is it against the rules?
And this dungeon scamming how can this be put to a halt or what can we do to stop it?
Buying and selling dungeon runs is not against the rules. However it remains a buyer/seller beware situation.

As for the person that reported you as long as you did not do anything wrong you fine. False reports can actually cause the person doing such to be actioned against.
Typical forums.
Players: Anet doesn’t communicate with the people on the forums.
Anet communicating on forums: Sorry but there will be a delay for the next update due to technical reasons.
Players: Why you no update on time! I’m so mad!
Well the reason i’m irritated is because they told us that they would release the FoV on 10th of march, then they announce ON THE PATCH DAY that they are moving it.
How would you feel if anyone said that they were going to give you a snickers on the 10th of march and you were really looking forward to it, then on the same day they told you that the snickers were broken and that they will give you the snickers bar later without estimated time on the matter. Well that would make me disappointed at least.
haha maybe a very bad example but i hope you get what i’m going for xD
I can live without candy bars and I can live for many days (probably even weeks or months.
) without GW2 updates when they were supposed to happen. It is a video game. Last time I checked video games were not at the base of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs.
MMOs are very complex games. Things happen and delays happen. You will survive, trust me. Would you rather they just release a completely busted patch so you can rage on the forum about how busted it is or would you rather they thoroughly test it before release? You know maybe they found some issues at the last minute that will take a bit to fix. These things happen in games.
Would you have rather they said nothing and then you sit there all day waiting for a patch that didn’t come?
You can be disappointed all you want but you will live. Trust me, you will get through it.
Game designers, especially MMO designers can’t win ever no matter how hard they try. Some of the responses in this thread are a perfect example of that.

Initially, the March 10th build was for stability and camera changes. Does this mean that BOTH changes will come at a later date or can we expect maybe one tomorrow (camera changes)?
Hey there,
We know that some of you are anticipating a new build for Guild Wars 2 on March 10th. We wanted to give you a heads up that the game update is coming, but it will not be going out on March 10th.

I wasn’t starting a rumor I just know this forum all too well.
SAB confirmed on the 1st of April!
In before someone posts here saying “SAB confirmed”. LOL
See it didn’t take long.

Put everything in your bank. All items in your bank will remain even if you delete all your characters.
The issue is that when the game came out we could store gold in our personal bank. They changed it. They said that in the interim we should use a personal guild bank. Then a fix never came to replace the removed personal gold storage in our personal bank.
I just looked through Martin’s posts and I don’t see anything stating there would be a ‘fix’. He stated that having both options (wallet and personal bank) for storing gold was not as simple as other posters suggested. He then later replied to someone else stating it wasn’t an option to have both systems. The personal guild bank was suggested as an option for storing your gold if you so choose.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/archive/jubilee/Token-Wallet-Thank-you-a-net/page/5#post2529629
It is not as simple as having both, it is something that is within the code and the interaction of multiple different elements of the game. So it might look like an easy thing on the outside – under the hood there is a lot of programming magic going on.
So if you need to have a bankspace to protect yourself from – well – yourself, you have to use the “individual guild” route.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/archive/jubilee/Token-Wallet-Thank-you-a-net/page/5#post2529665
You did not read my post properly. It is not an option. It is not possible without touching core systems. Which will have other consequences. An MMO is a very complex thing.
(edited by JustTrogdor.7892)
What is the issue? You can’t put gold in your bank?
Indeed, it is not possible to deposit gold in a personal bank. That is what the OP is referring to.
Cool
You will need to contact support. Follow the support link at the top of the page then the submit a request link on the top right of that page. Wait until it gets straightened out by Anet. Do not do a charge back through your bank or your account will be terminated.
First of all naming and shaming is against forum rules so you will need to edit those names out of your post or you risk an infraction and your post being deleted. Secondly, Anet does not discuss actions taken against accounts with anyone but the account owner. So you are not likely to get an answer to your request.
Let the Frivolous forum bans begin!
Forum specialists don’t have any moderator abilities so they can’t ban people, delete posts and so forth.
Anet has stated that they no longer have a relationship with the person/company responsible for the forum software. That is why they cannot fix the search feature. So I don’t see any of those ideas happening with the current system. Anet did state they are entertaining the idea of using a new forum system but nothing has been stated other than that.
I just bought this game and I am level 17 but all the hearts I have left are mostly level 19! Why is this and how can I get caught up?
You need to do more than just hearts. You can explore the map and complete the skill challenges, vistas, and discover all points of interest. This will give you more XP. Don’t forget to participate in dynamic events when you are out and about. More Xp. Also you can do the same in other race’s starter maps. Go to your race’s main city, take the portal to LA, then the portal to the other race’s city where you can then go to their starter maps. At your level you can also start your personal story and that will give more XP.
You can also get XP from exploring and completing the maps of each races city. No mobs involved, it just takes running around.

How do people get 13k points and not do any dungeons fractals ect…
Dungeons and fractals don’t provide many achievement points in the big picture. Most points come from dailies, basic PvE tasks and living story stuff.
I am a little confused what the difference between DPZzzz, DPZzzzz and DPZzz is.
Can you elaborate more?
Just the OP filling his daily quota of starting at least one or two threads a day.
I’m kind of confused what you mean. Linking accounts only occurs when you link your GW1 account with your GW2 account.
(edited by JustTrogdor.7892)
What did I get myself into here? I buy the game today and all I see is negative posts. I hope that with new people we can get together and create our own guilds and not have to deal with idiocy mentioned in this thread.
This is a game forum. Most of what you will see will be negative by default. You’ll be fine. Just be friendly in game and you will meet a lot of great players to hang out with.
Another piece of advice for new players. Stay away from this forum unless you are asking for advice or tips. There is very little value in the rest of it and you will enjoy your GW2 experience more if you stay away from all the negativity posted here on a daily basis. It’s too late for me. I wish I’d known that earlier.

If you buy the DD version currently on sale you will be buying a second account and it will not have an affect on your current account.
Anet will not restore a character you deleted. You are just going to have to level new ones. There are several ways to do so fairly quickly.
i had forgotten its been awhile but yea i guess its partially my fault , at this point i hope i will be able to get a new cd key! how long should i expect before a answer?
After submitting a ticket the CS target response time is less than 3 days (72 hours) . If no response after 72 hours you can post your ticket number in this thread.
