You will need to contact support following the support link at the top of the page then the submit a request link at the top right of that page. I don’t know if they will help you though as you purchased a different item.

It isn’t possible to make a name in all lower case. The first character of each word in a name is automatically capitalized.

+1 this. A good guild of like minded players goes a long way as well.

I would have to go with Guardian as a suggestion to start out for someone with not much MMO experience. Decent damage, good survivability. Then once your friend gets used to the general game play they can dabble in other professions that require a little more attention and understanding of mechanics.

You can have a large amount of AP without ever setting foot in a dungeon. As others have said AP isn’t a very good measure of overall knowledge of the game.

I don’t think it works like that. If you already have the DD version I doubt you can use the upgrade since there is nothing to really to upgrade. Here is a thread on the fact that it is even an option to buy it if you already have the DD edition:

The statement by IC that they have refunded people in the past that already had the DD edition and purchased the upgrade by mistake tells me it probably will not work the way you asked.

If you want the armor skin you can buy it separately from the gem store. They are 500 gems. The same cost as the upgrade while it is on sale.

Megaservers place players from the different servers from the same region into a shared map until that map is full. At that point a new map is created and the same thing continues, so forth and so on. There are some placement priorities like server but from what I have seen it doesn’t make that big of a difference. If you party up with your friends you should be able to join them with out an issue.

To your other question. Yes you can transfer for free by deleting all characters. Just make sure your put everything you want to keep in your bank first.

You can still RP with them in PvE. You just can’t WvW with them. But yes, you will just have to keep checking off and on for an opening. There is no other way to get in.

If you got the game less than 24 hours ago, you can try asking for a full refund by claiming you hate the game, and buying it again once the sale begins.

That is bad advice. Getting a refund might block the method of payment used from purchasing the game again. Not to mention the suggestion could be considered fraudulent.

Not likely. You can try contacting support but I seriously doubt they will help you out based on an upcoming sale.

Again I never even mentioned expecting funny. My feedback was based on entertainment value . I found none. I found a player cursing their way through AC. There is nothing new or entertaining about that.

When I joined this discussion I did so based on perceived entrainment value of watching streams. Humor was not part of the discussion. You don’t have to be funny to provide entertainment.

I find little entertainment value in watching others play video games and the few minutes I spent watching that stream only helped confirm my feelings on the issue. That’s just me. If you like that sort of thing then I don’t have a problem with it.

Yes you can. What you need to do is buy the game. Once you get the serial code in your email send it to your gift recipient unused. Your gift recipient then uses the code to register and becomes the owner of that account. Again do not register the new account yourself. That is the important part.

The current Mac client is a cider wrapper that Anet created through TransGaming. It isn’t much different. There are a few graphics settings not available. It has been in beta since it was released in 2012 and appears that it will remain that way for the foreseeable future. That’s about it.

The only way to transfer to a another server, US or NA, is to either pay for a transfer or delete all your characters and transfer for free. Note, some servers are full, if you try to transfer to a full server you will have to wait for an opening no matter what method you choose.

Yes, if you delete all your characters everything in your wallet and bank remains. All account bonuses such as achievement points and magic find also remain. However, if you have a personal guild bank make sure to empty it first because that will not remain once you delete all characters. Just make sure you put everything you want to keep from all your characters into your bank first.

Also meeting people in game often opens opportunities. Then of course there are the guilds that spam map chat. I don’t recommend them though as they are usually just looking for numbers.

The current system, due to the change in April 2014, is very unpopular and probably one of the most hated changes I have seen here. Even the most white of knights seem to dislike it. As long as the server is full you will not be able to transfer no matter what method you use, paid or by deleting characters.

You’re probably right, except there are usually people complaining that gems are getting so expensive, so there’s at least a portion who knows they should have bought earlier.

Those people still probably don’t know how it works. They don’t know that the more gems bought with gold the higher the cost of gems is. They just see a spike and complain.

It is the same reason you see people complaining that people should not buy gold with gems. Then they turn around and complain about the gold to gem conversion cost.

Because most people don’t follow it and don’t know how the gold —> gem or gem --> gold system works. They probably don’t care.

I think the OP was just asking a question in general as they referenced future patches.

Anet office hours are Pacific time U.S. I’m sure they release the patches when they are ready and have the staff present to work out any problems that may arise. I don’t think they want to release a completely busted patch just to appease people in other time zones. There are players from all over the globe that play GW2. The release time of a patch will not always be convenient for everyone.

My guess it is the same issue I see a lot of people having. They don’t notice the “specific issue” required field drop down option. I see people make this mistake often and once informed they have no problem. It really is easy to over look and IMO should be made more obvious.

The first use does not require charges. After you use it the skin goes into your wardrobe and any further uses will require charges.
