No one can give you those stats aside from Anet and they don’t offer them up. The game is far from dying. The sale alone during the HoT announcement most likely brought in a lot of new players. Even before that the game is lively with a lot of people playing. With HoT on the horizon it is most likely to grow even more. I’m not sure what more you need to comfort you. You already bought and have the game, join in, have fun and don’t worry.

I don’t think something like that will garner interest from PvE players to PvP. A couple of times when Anet has posted messages about tournaments I watched a few rounds. It was a yawn fest. Personally, I don’t like watching other people play video games. But that is just me.

Anet has already done a fair amount to try to lead people into PvP/WvW with changes in dailies, WvW map completion requirements and such. If people don’t like it or don’t care about it they are not going to do it no matter how it is presented.

If you are interested in bringing more people into the PvP/WvW community, befriend people, offer to show them around and offer to help them learn the ropes. That is the best way to encourage more participation in those communities.

This is a great site for crafting. It tells you how much gold at the time it will cost and what you need to buy. I have found you can save even more money by placing buy orders for lower level mats and waiting for them to fill. The prices change as the economy changes. Right now this is what it costs to level 400 in leather working:

Off topic but a funny story I have shared before. Back during the event that had those balloon platforms that you could ride to DR a bunch of us found a bot in Queensdale. As most know bots are programed to spam F constantly to pick up their loot. So we grabbed our Mesmers and portaled the bot to the balloon platform and then the bot took the ride. Never saw the bot again. He didn’t tip either. :P

I don’t think your request is going to happen based on the information provided by the link in my first post. The fact that you are unhappy with your name because it was based on an account you shared with someone else, which is against the rules, doesn’t help.

I believe you are talking about your display name.

Anet will only change display names in the event someone’s personal privacy is exposed such as using their real name or if the display name is offensive/violates the naming policy.

WvW is required for map completion.

It doesn’t matter if people can post here or not. Gaile said that Anet is working on a solution and will announce when that solution has been determined. She didn’t say, “Let’s see what people in the forum say then we will make a decision.” I’m certain they are aware of how many people this affected. So just stand by and wait for Gaile’s response.

Too many armchair attorneys in this thread. Just wait to hear from Gaile on what Anet decides to do. I’m certain their staff, the people paid to make these types of decisions, will do what is within the law. Until then all this bickering over legal matters is just taking up forum space.

OP you can check your mac temps and fan speeds by installing the iStat pro app. It should still be free, just Google it. I installed it last year or so.

I cropped out the stuff with my IP and such but here is what it looks like for temp and fan monitoring.

To add to that make sure you make it very apparent in your ticket that you are a Mac customer. I’ve run across that in the past when I told them it was a Mac problem and I got an email back asking me to install and run .exe files.

I’m pretty causal when it comes to WvW. I’m talking <3000 kills, maybe 100 hours or so. That said, even I have the decency to understand that when there’s a queue not to join up for map completion. Find a better time, you’ve had 2 years. I’m sure your map completion 0 to 100% is going to take a bit time.

Don’t be so entitled and think about the other players trying to get kitten done, and the players in the queue who want to actually help.

I’ve never owned any of those but you might have to visit the Black Lion Trader (Armorsmith) to get them in your wardrobe. I’m not sure if it will work but it is worth a try. That is how old town clothes got converted after the change.

PS: I am nowhere near guilty of any of those things I was defending. I was simply defending others’ rights to do them. Offense is taken, not given, and not every case of hurt feelings will result in the “timeout” that you were threatening people with earlier.

I guess you are and I are very different. I see being a helpful towards other players in game as a benefit to the community as a whole no matter what the circumstances are. Help someone one day with a word of advice, a kind word, or some helpful hints and they may help you or many others later on. You on the other hand don’t see it that way. You would rather others turn people away instead and don’t care if they come back later as an asset to your community. I get it, you have made it very clear.

Also, I never threatened anyone with a timeout. I don’t have the ability to suspend or ban players. I simply responded to root’s use of colorful terms described to ask people to leave WvW, and in which case if used in the way he stated could get them suspended. It wasn’t a threat it was just an acknowledgment that verbal abuse can lead to a suspension

You have the right to do map completion in WvW. You do not have a right to be shielded from being (correctly) told that you are a liability for the server.

Haha okay. You know it is funny. I’ve seen many threads over the years of people complaining about having to do WvW for map completion. One of the most common suggestions aside from waiting for a map to flip is to ask for help in WvW. I guess those suggestions were wrong.

If you think telling people to get lost or how ever else you want to phrase it is helpful for the community then go for it. There is one way to keep people from coming back to maybe benefit their server later in WvW, and that is to insult them and tell them to go away.

Yes, when the map is queued and people are doing useless things they’re going to be asked to be useful or go away. Feelings may be hurt. Sorry not sorry.

Perhaps all those “ask the commander to help you cap something” replies need to be appended with “please don’t make selfish individual requests when the map is queued and there are more important things”.

Maybe then we will have fewer black and white straw man arguments as well.

Who says everyone trying to do map completion is useless? Instead of saying things like, “GTFO” as root so eloquently stated it, maybe invite them along with your blob. Maybe that person doing map completion kills an enemy scout or two along the way if they are roaming solo. Maybe tell them if they see any enemy movements to let the map know. Or you know you could just tell them they are worthless and get nothing out of it at all as they most likely ignore you after that and go on about their business.

In my opinion, WvW was added to map completion to encourage people to try it. If you are just going to tell people they are a liability, then they are most likely not going to try to help your server win at that time and probably not any time in the near future.

But, if you insist, go about it and belittle people in WvW. I’m sure it does great things for your server’s WvW community.

Yes it would cause issues because your email address is your account name which is used to login. It is also what your account is registered to. You will need to use a second email address for your second account. I don’t know if it is even possible to register a second account with the same email due to the account name issue I mentioned.

You can transfer for free by deleting all your characters. Make sure you put everything not soul bound in your bank first. Everything in your bank and wallet will remain and transfer with you even after deleting all characters.

You will have to wait to hear from customer support. Posting here, especially without a ticket number will do no good. Tickets are responded to in the order they are received and posts here will not accelerate that process. No, it isn’t like an account restore after being hacked. If CS helps you they will swap the mistaken item with the one you meant to get. You won’t lose any progress.

There is no refer a friend option or a trial option at this time. There have been trial options in the past but there is no information currently available of when another trial period might be offered.

Titles seem clearly visible to me. If they were anymore so I’d probably find them somewhat intrusive.

The first suspensions for language violations are normally 72 hours if I recall correctly. It could be the person served their suspension and is now back in the game. If said person continues to violate the rules report them again.

Anet doesn’t even seem to support the Mac beta (for over 2 years) cider port client. The old Mac forum was almost never responded to. There have been multiple times when they said they would (promises of a Mac support team) but nothing ever really happened from support unless Mac customers could not buy gems. That got fixed when it happened but not much else. With the forum merger Mac support posts are like typing into the wind, they just blow away and get buried (well to be honest they were before the merger as well). So I would not get your hopes up or even wish it for you Linux users.

So, Anet tends to be quiet when they have things in the works. Maybe they refused to help mac guys because an engine update was expected in the future. I mean, I don’t think they will drop mac support. I don’t think it’s a good move to stick with DX9 and DX10 would kill mac support. OpenGL is their best option. If they go that route, Linux will be much closer to a possibility.

That’s honestly the only hope we (linux users) have.

HAHA drop Mac support? They never supported it unless it was a bug that didn’t allow Mac customers to buy gems. Those issues got fixed right away. Everything else was left to Mac players helping other Mac players even after they said there was a dedicated Mac support person for the 2nd and 3rd time since I have been here.

I think it is a pretty good idea. Sometimes I lose track of my clones and phantasms that I summoned in large scale fights. Even if it was as simple as a small “C” for clone and a “P” for phantasm it would be helpful.

No, submitting tickets are for support requests and not suggestions. Submitting a ticket will only slow down response time for those in need of actual account support.
