I can understand this. I kind of wish GW2 had something in the same vein, because it’s disheartening to follow a DE quest chain in an underpopulated area only to have it end with a champ spawn. You can ask your friends or people in map chat to come along but the call doesn’t always get answered.
Don’t worry. With the change for fitting rewards for every champion in the game many champion events will be done daylie.
How hard can it be to understand that the Title of the game comes from it’s lore, not the gameplay.
Jade Quarry feels like home
Irony is we already got more then Mini games and jumping puzzles but Everyone seems to forget the 100+ Guild missions, 2 Dungeons, 50+ new Dynamic Events, 3 PvP maps, 3 news mini dungeons, a new meta event, a new zone and the changes to WvW. Seems for some people what counts is what they dont like and everything else they like well that’s like it never existed.
This.
You’re the Third. Hello.
Could you give me tips how to do it solo then? I really want the achievement.
I like playing Warrior in PvE, I like slashing and chopping everything in my path down.
I love playing Ranger in PvP, Melee is a lot of fun with all that jumping around and stuff, and I like my wolf.
Yup it did. I can’t go back to other MMOs because I’m used to the Leveling and Combat System, it’s always fun. Static combat and the linear leveling path held me off to return to my beloved Lord of the Rings online. That game is unique, always will be, but Gw2 is modern and more attractive. It’s like leaving your girlfriend for a prettier woman.
I love how people always hate changes to what they are used to see.
Most People come from WoW Clone MMOs or WoW itself, and all the crap they are used to see from there is holy and untouchable. They’d rather pay 50 Bucks for an expansion than nothing for content updates every 2 weeks.
Why? Because they trust more in what they are used to than new things.
In a few weeks you have more content for free than you would have get from an expansion.
Since they have 4 Living Story Teams it is likely that the content updates become bigger and bigger, and very likely that they build up a path to a new dragon instead of just smashing an expansion out and say “Here’s the new dragon”. I like the Living Story, and many others do. Don’t think everybody hates the Living Story just because you do.
In a world event, or in a normal fight with monsters it isn’t very risky or dangerous to take the time to revive someone. It just costs a few seconds or minutes, not more. And if helping others isn’t worth a few minutes of your time, well then you are not a person I would like to spend my time with.
That might be True for dungeons, I had some moments at the Giganticus Lupicus Fight where I said “Don’t take the risk of reviving me, I will die again anyways”.
But in the open World, where a death isn’t that problematic, reviving should be standart.
If I see a downed Symbol on the Minimap, no matter how far away it is, I try to get there to help and often got a “thank you” for that.
I don’t want a legendary. Do I don’t play gw2 correctly then?
It’s still completly optional to get a legendary.
You just need to grind if you want a legendary, at this game isn’t all about getting a legendary, even if that is what many people think.
Magic is always the boring answer, just like god.
There’s nothing better in the world to tell a story than a good novel. Neither game nor movie, because the Movie’s in your head while you’re reading.
That’s Gaheron Baelfire, the End Boss in the Citadel of Flame Story Mode
One day, I was traveling with my Norn Ranger from the Portal of Lions Arch to Hoelbrak and I asked myself:
How do the people of tyria deal with the sudden climatic change that a Gatetravel brings with it?
I mean, you go from a tropical Temperature of Lions Arch, Warm and with a High Humidity probably, to the freezing temperatures of Hoelbrak in a matter of seconds. Normally such a change would break down the circulation of the body and there may be excuses for the other races, but what about humans and animals?
How can my Human stay completly fine, and for example my Snow leopard from the shiverpeaks, when entering a portal to a completly different climatic zone?
So instead of roaming the cursed shore, doing events how they are supposed to be and getting rewards from the risen that spawn there, you are abusing a bug and go mad when it’s fixed? Seems legit. Why are you need to “Farm” anyways? You’re an adventurer in this game, go and adventure, hunt risen down and help the NPC’s and you’ll find yourself with plenty of bags in your inventory. I do that all the time.
That Trailer was better than the original one.
Here are some other solutions:
1. Increase the Size of your Inventory
2. Always deposit your collectibles
3. Don’t spam F (There is AoE Loot now anyways)
4. Make the Chat window bigger
Thats the problem. You played WoW for too long to actually enjoy the game as it is.
So, it’s the games fault?
If you would need so much time taking care of your Action Bar environment you wouldn’t find the time to take care of the actual environment and you would end up in tons of AoE’s and get hit by everything because you aren’t dodging, and the game is all about dodging and positioning. Setting up difficult Skill Bars would take speed out of the fight as it does in the other MMO’s. You just stand there and hammer your skills down “strategically”. But If you have only 10 skills you know in a few hours, you can take care of your surroundings more efficiently, and like I said, that’s what combat is all about in this game.
STOP SPAMMING HEARTSEEKER THEN IN PVP, IT’S SO ANNOYING!
Just kidding. I guess 3-5 Initiative wouldn’t hurt, right?
Mike is the perfect example of the conservative MMO Player who’s afraid of any kind of change. Those people try to make Gw2 into one of their beloved dead and outdated MMO’s, trying to change those things that make me playing the game. I just hope that Anet won’t listen to those creatures. Yes, I called Mike a creature.
The Combat System is awesome. It’s fun, it’s fast, it’s dynamic. Maybe not as multifaceted as it could be, but Anet is working on that. I have a guild with 300 people who play the game because of the fighting system. Your 20 Imaginary Examplekittens can go step on a lego.
You’re creative anarchist, so I guess this is high sarcasm.
In what way are you abusing the game so hard that it spams your entire chat with error messages?
We need this Money Sinks to prevent the market from falling into inflation
Working really well, by the way…
Well if that is sarcasm, tell me how there is an inflation at the moment?
The reason for high or low prices are only drop rates, not the actuall value of gold.
We need this Money Sinks to prevent the market from falling into inflation
As a helmet skin.
For the release of guild wars 2 in china, release some Rice Farmer Hats already so I can be one of those “I’m just a farmer” Ninjas who kill their victims with a sword hidden in their walking stick. It would be pretty cake and maybe make NCSoft angry which is always good.
From the latest blog post.
… Dehaka would be proud! (Starcraft 2 Joke here)
Good job Anet! Maintain this Content Quality and Speed and we’ll have the best MMO to ever be created in no time!
Could we maybe get an option to turn off the effects, so you have the clear pose without the Grey colour? Would be awesome for screenshots!
Without the grey colour, this for example would look pretty cool!

You forget that there is something called PvP, which needs to be balanced to be fun. You don’t know how hard it is to balance 8 classes all with different weapons, and it isn’t even near perfect yet, and you already demand new weapons. Only if PvP Balance is stabilized, we can get new weapons. And don’t say “only make it available for PvE”, that’s a stupid solution.
It’s a Roleplaying Game, I play the Role of a character I created, I don’t want my necro to be a corrupted elementalist or any kind of character whose background story is set in stone by the developer.
If you want your Characters to have background stories, create them yourself like you did here. The few choices we can make it terms of the past of your character are so minor that you can create your own past easily.
Who doesn’t want to look at the characters Butt while swimming? Sweeeeeet
Hello Community and Guys at Anet!
I just wanted to say how awesome the Patch System for Gw2 is. There are no Downtimes, New Content is released directly, I just have to download it, and I have good internet so that goes pretty fast. I love this! In most other Online Games there are downtimes, I’ve liked the Facebook Page of my Old MMO, every Tuesday there are several hours of downtime, and I just laugh at those who can’t play because of that, I don’t have such problems with Guild Wars, it’s just awesome!
Thank you Anet, for making it possible to play this game whenever I want. There haven’t been much Server Problems in this last year too, which is super cool!
As players like me are currently blaming other players because of their complaining, “when” has been applied.
So you went from “The game is Bad” to “but it’s not that bad”, I don’t know what your exact opinion about it is. What I was trying to say, there are people who feel perfectly fine with the game and aren’t fanboys or defenders and you should be aware of those. You can’t state “This game is bad”, as it is your own subjective opinion.
My opinion for example is “the game has a solid foundation to build the best MMO on”. Of course it’s not perfect and positive critisism with a solution to every problem is great for the developer, but just saying that this game sucks isn’t helping anyone. And mostly it will make you a target of wrath and flame for something you probably wrote with not much of a thought behind.
When the game is bad, you blame the player. Everyone else is doing it!
Sorry to rip you out of your little dreamland but there are people on this earth who aren’t like you, lets say about 7 billion (yeah there are this many other humans on this earth! You probably didn’t even notice from looking in the mirror all the time). And out of the playerbase there are enough players who love the game, I bet those are even more than half the playerbase.
1. Too much RNG
2. Not enough armor sets
3. The Community
Well, YOU wouldn’t recommend buying stuff from the cash shop while I would recommend to don’t buy certain RNG Items. I support Anet, I’m no fanboy, I won’t believe a rat dressed up as a pig to be one, but they are already going in the right direction with the latest patches.
In this time you can’t complain about capitalism, as it is set in stone that people are greedy and need material things to feel good, like money. And those people crawl together in a big hive and founded companies to get money out of everything that has value in this world. And so it came that they discovered that the video game industry is lucrative and so NCSoft, Blizzard, Ubisoft, Activision and their overall leader EA were born.
What I try to say with this is: You can’t find much of a alternative and you will never. While I think any developer has the artists who care about their games, you can’t get around the publisher, and to support the developer, you have to pay the publisher.
The problem isn’t the game, it’s the players.
Truth was spoken this day.
For many players, including me, the game is fine and much fun, but threads with titles like “This game is awesome!” are unlikely to be read by many other people, because no one wants to read good things, just the bad things are interesting.
But I can summarize all complaining threads in one sentence:
“This game took a way too important place in my life, so I care that much for it that I have to cry on the forums why they don’t do this and haven’t done that since release and I fail at life so I need to accomplish things in the Videogame world”.
People take this way to seriously. While it’s fine to suggest, it’s useless to complain and cry like anyone at Anet would give a kitten. They will do their thing and the game continues to evolve. You wouldn’t travel back in time to scream at monkeys why they aren’t putting a kittening fire up, would you?
Like Likin Park said: In the End, it doesn’t even matteeeeeerr
Anet already got the money from them, since there isn’t a subscription fee they don’t have to please every single kittened up mind that is out there who needs something to work towards, because they have nothing like this in their real lifes.
So, Anet and NCsoft already got your money kittenez, and like it was said, it is more than enough to continue the Living Story which is great and I love it!
It wouldn’t be very logicall or realistic to give a shortbow a good range, not even in a world with Minotaur kittys and metal airships.
A Shortbow has a shorter stock, so the tendon is also shorter and can’t be drawn very far, so the arrow loses power when fired and doesn’t fly that far. But because the bow doesn’t have to be drawn far, you can ready an arrow much faster, so you have an increased fire rate. Which it does have ingame, so it’s perfectly fine.
If you want the game to be unbalanced because of personal preferrences, then maybe think of the other people in this game, those who… aren’t you.
