18, Male

2. For how long have you been playing Guild Wars 2 and other MMORPGs?

6 Years in total, Guild wars 2 since release.

3. What are your character’s race, profession and personal story and what are your reasons for choosing them?

My Main Character is a Human Warrior, he grew up in a commoner family because I want my Character to reflect myself. I don’t value objects very much, but I’m also no outlaw, so I picked commoner.

4. What are the things you enjoy doing the most with your character?

Fighting and watching him in Cutscenes. I spend many hours giving him the perfect look and then I enjoy it watching im in Action for a few days, then I switch his style again.

5. What aspects of your character would you consider masculine, if any?

His muscles, his comments, his fighting style and his armor.

6. Are there things in the game you would like to do with your character but are unable to? Can you give some examples?

I’d like him to be more of a man who does whatever he wants, like me. Ingame I have to fight for the Queen and Kryta and all that, but I don’t enjoy fighting for a single person. I completly ignore what came in the Personal Story after Claw Island, because after that everything was just so bad I want to forget it.

Some of these guys obviously don’t feel comfortable infront of a camera.

Yeah Queue me in too! I think I can get the money together until It’s my turn.

Anet needs to include a lot more languages if they want to expand their success even further. Like Arabic, Chinese and Stuff.

Can I haz some of that gold?

The Greater Collapse

It’s all about the Server. On mine I can’t walk a minute on ANY Map without seeing people running around doing stuff. There are a ton of people on my server and I get in a Overflow everytime in Lions Arch, the Pavillion and any Area where a Meta Event happens when I’m not fast enough.

I left, angry, he left, even more angry. We never saw each other in months again. I joined a group of Pirates on the Bloodtide Coast right after I left Divinities Reach and made good friends there. But it didn’t take long until something bad happened. The Inquest showed up and hired us to fly their Airships to special Missions, and they offered us an amount of gold for that we just couldn’t refuse.

So we followed them and they took us into a special Base with dozens of those Airships the Pact was using at that time to attack Orr. And I was told to be a Captain of one of those. The Purpose of our Missions was clear: To bring Destruction and
Disorder into every corner of the World and soon enough to even Assault Divinities Reach. But as soon as I heard that, I knew it was Time to leave. The Force of the “Aetherblade” as they called themselves was far beyond 1.000 Men with over 100 Ships, but I convinced 300 of those to do our own thing. We stole 15 of their Ships in one Night and just flew to the East, far out of the Inquests reach.

And that brings us to the recent events. Somehow the Krytan Queen knew about my Fleet and wished to speak with me. It turned out that the Pact needed my help with an Assault to gain Ground in the Crystal Desert. Kralkatorrik’s Minions swarmed there in overwhelming numbers and far too many Dragon Lieutenants roamed the Sky. I refused. “I will not send my Fleet to a certain Death for a Queen and her Kingdom”, I said, “I will send my Fleet to a certain Death for Glory, for Peace and to safe the Beauty of this World”.

And now we’re here, in the open Sky, only a few dozen miles away from the Chokepoint the Pact is trying to secure. With the Axes and the Sword of my Ascalonian Ancestors, the Firepower of my Fleet and the Strength of my Men, I shall bring Death to an Elder Dragon!

Hello Community!
This is my First time trying to write a full story in english (It’s not my native tongue, I’m learning for 3 years) I enjoy any feedback given to me. Also this is the first time I’m writing a Fan Fiction story, so I would appreciate if you write your opinion below, don’t forget to be honest, it helps me a lot to improve.

The Captain’s Log

I’m writing my Story down in this log so that everyone will know who I really am. They called me Traitor, Pirate, Outlaw. I have many Names, none of them really reflects myself in any way and I never listened to them either. But after the recent Events, the People of Tyria have to know who I am, if I want it or not.

It all began in Divinities Reach, one Year Ago, as the Village of Shaemoor was attacked by Centaures and nobody knew how they got past the Fort. It didn’t matter in that moment anyways, I was helping a Friend of my Family who was a farmer. Suddenly terrified Men and Women came over the Bridge and I saw their Bodies getting torn apart by angry Centaures. But before I could react, an Arrow was fired towards me. I was able to get my Head out of the way in Time, but the Farmer didn’t, it went right through his Eye. I knew it was time. I took the Axe my Father gave me to my 16th Birthday, I always had it hanging on my belt. It was dark and the Axe was glowing with the Energy from Adelberns Curse, my Ancenstors were flaming inside it’s Blade, they were bloodthirsty, and so was I.

Three Centaures were riding towards me as I charget at them, screaming out the loudest Warcry my Throat could handle. And their will crumbled. Not entirely, but enough to make them distracted for a second. A Second I needed. I chopped the Head off the closest Centaur and covered behind the huge Body to escape the arrows that were shot. I threw my Axe right between the Eyes of the left Centaur, while jumping towards him. As I reached his lifekitten dy, I quickly grabbed the Axe again and ram it into the Chest of the Third Centaur who were sneaking up behind me.

I was covered in Centaur Blood as I reached the Fort, Captain Logan Thackeray led a defense and welcomed me with open arms as he saw the blood. We repelled the Centaures after we killed their Leader and I joined the Seraph with a recommendation from Thackeray. I served the Krytan Queen for a long time, but I never did anything because of her like Logan. I never trusted her. I just killed hundreds of Centaures and Bandits to protect the People, not for some Queen or Kingdom.

And so the Day came where I had to make a decision. Do I join one of the Orders of Tyria in the Name of the Krytan Mesmer Queen, or do I leave Kryta forever? I chose last. Traitor I was called and I had a very uncomfortable Conversation with Logan.

“What is wrong if you? You are a loyal Warrior, you want to protect people yet you refuse to join one of the Orders of Tyria which are the ultimate way to protect people! You could’ve been a Captain of the Seraph after all!”, he said and he was very angry.

“What is wrong with me, you ask? Oh what a surprise! The great Logan Thackeray is asking someone what is wrong with HIM! You are the one that is mesmerized by this Queen, you are her Watchdog, but you could be a Hero. She is bounding you to her feet while you could be so much more. I don’t want to be a captain of some Kingdom and you don’t want to stay one for the rest of your life for sure!”.

I created atleast 30 characters in my Account Lifetime until I found the composition
that satisfies me. Also I’m very weird with my characters. I have feelings for them and created Backstorys for every single one.
So here’s my A Team of Characters, all ready to kill dragons.
Well not really, only 3 of them are, but I’m working on that!

From Top to Bottom:

1. Filthy Bob, Warrior: My Main, I’m very proud of the look I gave him. His Name is a Covername he got to work Undercover between Bandits for the Seraph. He kept his Name and is known for boldness in Battle, even though nobody really knows his real Name.

2. Schattenkoyote, Thief: His Name is German for Shadowcoyote, a nickname he got from one of the members of his old warband.

3. Wächterorchidee, Guardian: Her Name is German for Guardianorchid, as she is a beauty that protects this world because of her unending love to it.

4. Willow of Sorrow, Necromancer: He felt his relationship to death in the moment the air of tyria filled his lungs. He gave himself this name to show his enemies why he is to fear.

5. Sparkling Disguise, Mesmer: This lovely Girl has a big history of crimes against Kryta, despite being of high birth, she stole from the rich to fill her own pockets. But she soon realised that she can be more than a Thief who works with Illusions, but it would be to risky to use her real name, so she continued under the name that she was known for in the scene of thieves.

6. Eila Frosthorn, Ranger: She has only one Goal in her steady aim, and that is hunting the biggest Dragon the world has ever seen, chopping his head of and present it in Hoelbrak. She hunts with furry, but never underestimates her Pray. And anything between her bow and her Destiny is Pray. Her Wolf Snowprowler is always behind her.

7. Kudu’s Apprentice, Elementalist: Fascinated by Kudus discoveries, this little Asura tries to copy what his Idol has done. He wants to gain power by using the Magic of the Dragons, but he would rather work together with the Inquest than Zojja and his Krewe full of Skrittbrains, they are only slowing him down.

8. Razza, Engineer: This energyball is a master at working fast and precise, building insane creations out of nowhere. She is to become the greatest inventor in tyria, planning to build a Portal to the Moon, but she hasn’t quite figured out the Code for that.

You obviously never played WoW, otherwise you would know what REAL GRIND is. Gw2 Open World PvE is the most relaxed Gameplay I had in a while.

Well Tuomir, it’s a greatsword, and if you look at most of the Skins, they look mighty heavy. If they wouldn’t hold the Greatsword behind their torso, it would probably bang against their head with it’s blade while running and that isn’t very comfortable.

I’d love to play a Inquest or Nightmare Court Personal Story with my Sylvari Necromancer and my Asura Engineer. That would be so much more fun.

I see the issue, but the solution is not that simple to be done. Anet isn’t known for optimal situations in their hardware or engine. You’ll either have to buy the Server Transfer, or wait until Anet finds the time to look at the server situation. And that could take a while.

And please dont tell us that many of these servers are highly populated or whatever, we know these statistics have been ridiculously inflated by not working on the basis of how many players are active, but rather how many accounts there are regardless of how inactive they are (which many, many, many are).

I’d like to know where you got those numbers from.

You say there are way too many Servers even for NA when all of them are on a very high population? While I agree to maybe delete some 4-5 EU Servers, NA has the right amount. The Population works on activity of the Players, my old server often changed from medium to very high population on prime time.

I don’t feel that any NA Server is low populated, maybe try searching in the right places, because people tend to gather at certain points like Meta Events and Farm spots.

Also it is 3:30 AM Server Time, what do you expect, a late night party at a random location in the world?

In The End, if you really think your server is empty, because you got the precise numbers of inactive accounts it seems, just Guest to a high populated server, even if you can’t WvW there, you can atleast farm the money for a server transfer there with a lot more people.

I never said one of the LS Teams is working on a massive update that’ll bring a new Region.
It’s stated by a guy from Anet that they have Teams beyond the 4 LS Teams working on other Stuff, but he didn’t specified what, he just said those will be highlighted once their releases come closer.
But it’s highly likely that we get new zones with upcoming LS stuff, as every team has 8 Weeks to work on their update.

Just don’t read them.

I use a boring standart Keyboard that came with my PC, but I have a Logitech G600 with an additional Ring Finger Button which I use to switch between weapon kids and 18 G Buttons I can press with my thumb. But I rarely use more than 5 of those for my 6-0 Skills and one which is bound to Numlock for Autorun. The others are just bound to various things I don’t really need anyways.

The Game is split into 3 Sections because of a Reason. If PvE players want PvP, they go into PvP or WvW. And in WvW there are 3 Factions already fighting, so what’s the point of that?

I don’t know from which MMO you got that Idea from, but it’s really not suitable for Guild Wars 2.

4 Teams working on the Living Story is not the only thing Anet has. They mentioned that they have large groups working on other projects that they will talk about when their release comes near.

It’s obvious that there are more people happy with the game then disappointed by it, otherwise the number of people playing wouldn’t grow and we would see server merges.

To the OP – when rerolling take a breather and create your character calmly, there’s no rush. Maybe reroll as a different race, because those have their own starting zones and different personal stories, it might make it kitten ring to you. If you want money and levels just reaching 100% map completion is easier, and your personal story does describe things, you just need to listen

You can’t judge by the Forum Posts how a game is doing. People only use the forums to complain and criticise, not to compliment and say what went good, because this game does enough good to grow, even though you don’t like to see that.

No, on forum you find people that care the most about your game and when they’re disappointed i let you guess how those who aren’t on the forum feel.

I highly doubt that thats a majority of the Complaining Post.
I like people who care about this game so much that they write big posts of solutions to problems, but thats rather the minority. I still trust only what I see, and If I get into an overflow in Lions Arch in the middle of the night I think there are enough players.
Also my guild is full of people who enjoy the Living Story and the changes Anet brings every 2 weeks.

But people been suggesting lots of things to anet, end game is out of them. What did they do? Add more Living Story cutsceens and gem store items. Its not important what i or some1 else suggests, its all about money, and if their musical gem store instruments is making them money, this is what they’ll be creating instead of a new dungeon for the ‘hardcore’ crowd. This is their main problem, they chase money without giving anything to those who want to do something called ‘play the game’.

That is your opinion, and I respect it.
But you need to see, that’s not everyones opinion. Sure there are hardcore gamers who want more hardcore content, but Anet already made a step in the right direction with the Gauntlet for those.
Wait and See, you don’t know what ArenaNet has planned, if you aren’t happy with the changes afterall, and Guild Wars 2 isn’t going the direction you would like, then you can leave, because this game has no Subscription Fee.

But be reminded: The Hardcore Players aren’t the majority of the game, ArenaNet cares about them, but if they leave, there’s still a big chunk of Casuals playing.

Yeah I agree, while I don’t find the standing animation much of an issue, the swing animation of Female Norn and Humans looks very unrealistic and weird, especially with the speed they do it.

Well, Weapons are known for carrying the Spirit of it’s owner with them, but Armor isn’t, so the spiritual connection may be there for weapons to get them to glow, while armor has no spiritual connection with any Ghost.

I want to wear the Armor of my Ancestors without glowing like a Fairy in the night because of Adelberns stupid curse.

No, you won’t lose any currency in your Wallet, everything there depends on your account, not your characters.

Anet has 4 Teams now with every team having 8 Weeks to work on their 2 Week Rotation Content. The Queens Speech is the first where one team worked 8 weeks on, so lets see how this turns out to be. The Chance is high that we get new areas soon.

It’s a checklist for people who are not interested in the world in any way.
People who actually explore will see much more. For example the explorer achievements from Magumma and Shiverpeaks brought me to places I’ve never been before with over 10 characters I leved up in those areas.

For every Skill you have, there’s a Kodan in the World with the exact same name.

Anet is capable of Telling a Story, The little Storymode Dungeon Story I liked. They just screwed up with the Personal Story.

for MMO Standarts Guild Wars 2 is actually pretty good. Some MMO’s may have a really cool Story, like Guild Wars does, but nearly all of them suck at bringing it to the Player.

I’m used to much bad Storytelling, so the Personal Story of Guild Wars 2 wasn’t that bad for me, even if the Voice Acting awful in certain parts, no MMO ever had everything 100% Voice Acted before.

My characters Legs look totally normal, I don’t know what you mean.

Maybe the HotW boots? after all, the boots are the last thing you notice.
If you don’t like that, maybe Brahams.

Hello everyone!

I really enjoy making screenshots. Shutting of the HUD, get some awesome Background and wait for your character to make one of those “I’m waiting for your commands” aminations.
That’s all you can do at the moment. But I have an idea how to change that!

A new Item for the Gemstore, a Posture Pack!

When activated, it overwrites your weapon skills with 5 Poses depending on your drawn weapon when it was activated.

It works as simple as the Weapon Skill System, the Poses from 1-3 focus on your Main Hand Weapon, 4 on both and 5 on the offhand Weapon. Two-handed Weapons of course give 5 Poses. Each weapon has it’s unique poses, but for all classes the same. Those Poses stay until they are canceled.

For example:

Skill 1 Greatsword: The Sword is resting on the right shoulder and an unimpressed look is thrown over the left shoulder, while the left hand is raised with the easily understandable symbol of “Come at me”.
Skill 2: The Animation of using healing signet as a warrior just with both hands.
etc etc.

There are many of poses you can make, some can be found on concept art too, and It would really help making impressinf screenshot that could promote the games amazing Style on other websites, guilds may be able to make awesome group pictures and People like me would be able to make cool screenshots for my gallery!

Well the Colour behind achieved Achievements is purple on both…
But I’m still up for my idea to make the gauntlet permanent so people who need to improve have the time to improve.

Well I beat liadri, and I’m very healthy in the aspects of body Care and Social life. The Tickets I either bought or farmed. And whats better, waiting a couple of minutes or running around a couple of minutes?
