I have a hunch that Anet has the retirement of zones on some timetable now (so zones will not persist for long periods of time). Gone are the days of harvesting T6 with 8 characters for 2 weeks with no node changes.
Those were the days…
So much money so easily.
Megaservers made a lot of things easier for sure, but some things a lot more difficult.
I dunno, this is kind of a bummer for me, that I have to put that kind of effort into something that was near effortless when I left.
Hello Gw2 community,
I recently returned after I quit the game in October last year because of general dissatisfaction with Anet and their updates.
I thought it would be a good idea to get myself some Ascended Weapons and Armor and jump into WvW, so I took a crafting guide and leveled Weaponsmith to 400.
Then I looked through the guide for 400-500 and discovered that I needed a whole lot of Orichalcum, Ancient Wood and Ectoplasma. No problem for me, I already crafted a legendary so I’m familiar with the grind. I ran out into the world and resumed my general schedule of Dungeon running, Meta-event farm and Ori/AW node farming.
Latter didn’t work out well. Before the Megaservers I used to run down the locations of all Ori and AW on every of the 4 maps they exist in with every level 80 character I have, that being 4 at the moment. Now 50% of the locations on the node maps I use are incorrect and I find myself wandering every map checking the different node spots and only finding something at half of them, spending silver for waypoints and wasting precious time.
To the point of this thread:
Is there still an effective way to farm these nodes even with megaservers? Or am I better off just farming the money to buy it all of the TP?
I appreciate every help.
Well, the gods are silenced, Orr has risen from the depths and is haunted by undead, I guess it is fitting for players to grief at Lyssas old Cathedral. I mean, it’s pretty sad.
In the first months after launch I told everybody that this game will be really great in a year with Anets speed of updates.
Lol.
They can’t even write proper good guy storylines and you demand bad guy storylines from them? Please stop, it will only hurt you.
Fix the broken stuff before adding new broken stuff
Or add tons of content that is gone again in a month instead of fixing broken stuff. How long has it been? 18 months and we get the most basic quality of life stuff now. That’s kinda sad actually.
Phalanx Helmet
Human Tier 1 Shoulder
Human Tier 3 Gloves
Phalanx Chest
Phalanx Legplates
Phalanx Boots

Yes, but no matter how excellent these Living Story chapters are, they are gone now. They put all their work into them to make them so “excellent” just to take them out again. I don’t see anything left of this now, so what does it add to the game in terms of permanent quality?
And I don’t notice any changes at all.
I stopped playing after the Tower of Nightmares patch because I was just highly disappointed with ArenaNets updates.
They always promised so much cool stuff that we would see through free updates, but all we got was this Living Story zergfest with one of the most terrible set of characters ever written and on the side a few permanent updates here and there.
Don’t get me wrong, the things we got were great, I’m really digging the WvW Seasons stuff, the Tequatl fight sounds great (never played it though) and the Aetherblade path was also a lot of fun. But it’s just too less compared to the amount of bad quality living story. I try to imagine what would’ve been possible if they used these ressources on more game advancing stuff.
This game had a lot of potential in my opinion. The combat system is engaging, the world is beautiful and the leveling is always fun. But combat lacks depth, PvP needs more love, WvW needs more tactical elements and PvE needs challenging content (not hard, challenging, there’s a difference).
Do we see anything of that after 18 months since launch with a pretty active developement team?
No. There are hints that they are actually thinking of some stuff, but most stuff is just Living Story.
So ArenaNet, I have a message for you. I beg you to turn down the living story in order for the other areas of the game, which have a really solid and fun foundation, to grow and thrive of your ideas. The concept of the Living Story is fine, it’s entertaining on a certain level but it will not do your game any good if you set your main focus on that.
Of course I am wrong in other people’s opinions and some of my facts may be outdated and wrong aswell, so leave your own opinion here, I’d like to read it.
So I just came back after 6 month rage quit break (The stalemate that Guild Wars 2 was in made me mad) and I see that we’re still in a stalemate.
Welp, this game had a lot of potential, guess I have to hope in Everquest Next to deliver.
I stopped playing a while ago because I don’t enjoy the way Anet makes decisions. The way they design content, write it and publish it seems to me like they employed a lot of people who just finished school.
My characters are 50/50 too. Just for the sake of playing something different instead of male 24/7. But for my main I chose the male gender for a reason. This is a roleplaying game, I want to feel associated with my character and I can’t achieve that when my is the opposite gender.
You can get into a different order with a different character, then buy the armor from the vendor and transmute it to a white item from a random merchant. The white item with the look of the Order item will then become account-bound and you can place it into your bank, to transmute it back onto the item you want the look on.
Yeah… I usually don’t like or dislike any videos even if one of those two is the case, but this was so bad, I just needed to dislike the video so the dude who put this together realizes that he has no sense for a teasing video.
And that comes from a guy who listens to metal since he’s 9.
If you’re too unmotivated to log in and check for yourself, you’re probably too unmotivated to play.
I dunno exactly what you’re looking for, but I’ll try to suggest you colours that fit your descriptions.
Topaz yellow = Maybe Butter or Daffodil.
Teal = Teal, Spring Tide, Seafoam, Deep Teal.
Dark and Warm Green = Pine, Evergreen, Japanelo, Envy.
I hope that helps in a way.
I fully support this. Most of the time I’m using 1-3 pieces of an armorset from the Gem Store, and having to buy the full set all the time drains my gold.
Any online game is no place for a child, because there are a lot of children in online games.
At around 100. I only bought exotics and rares when I felt like I need to do some mistakes. Most of the time I used the ones I got from drops, which got me The Spark. And don’t try to argue about how much money I lost by not selling the ones I dropped. I don’t care, the money was never there so it isn’t lost to me.
I thought she died at Claw Island o.O
And yeah when Ellen Kiel showed up I thought it was Deputy Mira actually. Because they look the same, Ellen just has brown hair instead of blond.
If you consider WvW and making a legendary the only endgame here, then I’m sorry but you’re playing the game wrong. Actually, everything is endgame, because it’s viable to do even after hitting level 80. I don’t consider traditional endgame raids to be a solution to something that isn’t really that broken.
You must be easy to impress. Or you’re being sarcastic. I hope you’re being sarcastic.
Molten Alliance again? Just with poison instead of fire and Kraitplants instead of burning dredge.
You’ve missed a great opportunity for giving us a thrilling story, again. I feel like you’re not even trying anymore. Whatever you come up with as a reason why the krait even talked to the speaking plants, it will be unbelievable.
Thanks for throwing lore out of the window, you’re atleast professional on that.
The lines made me crinch my teeths. No real person would ever talk like that. And the fart joke made me leave my room and ask the stars what the hell Anet is even doing.
I have reported those two issues multiple timers over months of patches but it’s still there.
The Sylvari female line when getting burned is “It burns!”, but it’s definitly the voice of the female asura. I’m 100% sure about this and it just doesn’t fit at all with the other lines.
The other thing is the Guardian shout “Hold the line!”, which I never heard. Ever. I reported this months ago and it’s still not there. I tested it will all races, when you activate that skill, nothing happens.
I wouldn’t mind these if they would be short term bugs, but they’ve been around for so long now, it seems unprofessional to me that they haven’t been fixed yet.

You’ll hardly be more than a distraction for a few seconds, if you survive the AoE onslaught. I’d recommend getting to level 80 first, obtain good WvW gear and then be a real help for the commanders there.
Guest to Tarnished Coast or Blackgate, you’ll have an easier time finding people for late night temples there.
I use a Logitech G600 Gaming mouse with 18 additional thumb buttons and a ring finger button.
I have set my utility skills from 6-0 on the first 5 buttons and weapon kit switch on the ring finger button, so I can use my left hand for moving and the weapon skills.
It’s pretty fast and the logitech mouse is very reliable and robust, but only for large hands.
I run certain things on a daylie basis to get myself gold for my Legendary.
I have 3 80s I run the Orichalcum and Ancient Wood nodes in the 4 lvl 80 maps with, which rewards a good chunk of gold for the little effort I have to put in. After that I run the Citadel of Flame dungeon Path 1 for the extra quick gold and the Tokens to get my alt free armor.
After that I do the living story achievements, try to get into WvW and rotate through the Temple events in Orr and the other world bosses. If I finish all that and I’m still motivated to play, I run fractals, finish map completion with my alts and level the ones that aren’t 80 yet.
Because Anet sometimes don’t know what they’re doing and refuse to accept that they screwed it up.
The story of Guild Wars 2 is not about us. It’s about Trahearne, the Pact and Destiny’s Edge.
We are nothing, we are faceless, voiceless and never mentioned anywhere. We’re ‘The commander’, The ‘Lightbringer’, the ‘Warmaster’. Everything we do will never matter for the story, the writers are not skilled enough to implement that.
You must have a hard time watching movies…. since most of them don’t even remotely mention you.
Movies don’t involve me doing most of the work and being involved into the story by gameplay. It’s an MMORPG, yet I don’t feel that I play much of a Role.

Then it’s the trading post, not you obviously. Just do something else for a few hours and it should work again.
I wasn’t joking at all.
Anet seriously, you can’t beat a mummy in costume brawl 1v1.
It’s ridicilous, it’s like the mummy is Anets favourite class and gets all the buffs and no nerfs. I can hit an enemy with a DPS of 2.0 and kill everyone around with just pressing 1.
Anet nerf mummy pls.
Oh well, my bad for not reading carefully. Still against it.
It’s very common in all standart forums. I wonder why official, selfmade forums of games always lack the most basic features…
No, just no. As a student I don’t have the money to pay each month for only playing on the weekend. The absence of a subscription model is the saving grace of this game and the reason it has a strong position on the market. Please go to the dozens of other MMOs using this, you’ll be happy there.

Ask a friend, the map chat or your guild.
I’m not really new but I enjoy helping new players getting into the game quite a lot. But since most groups for dungeons are always ‘lvl 80 only’ or ‘experienced only’ I feel like newbies are rejected everywhere. I still have 5 characters to level, so any of you guys are on NA and you have question or need help with something, you can message me ingame.
You know it now.
well I always cheated my way to the vista by jumping over a gap you can only get with skills Like warrior sword skill 2 or Ranger greatsword 3.
1. The storytelling and writing needs to improve in depth and reason
2. The technical optimization needs to improve
3. Build diversity needs to be supported by buffs and nerfs.
