omg i’m crying
i cant
157 on engi.
86 on mesmer.
16 on guard
57 on ranger
2 on warrior
It’s intentional. Being able to spam aoe on the point makes you better at the game, obviously.
^
mesmer/ele could be good for you. Full zerk shatter mes <3
Bring the dps son.
This, basically.
Or you go healway and hit like a noodle.
If TFI left ET, why I still see towers/camps being claimed by their guild? Didn’t all of them left?
Magnus is still on ET, he may be claiming stuff.
LOL this guy from ASH gonna talk now. Thats why your guild declined a gvg and i have multiple videos of you wiping
They turn down your offer because one MAJOR reason, no loot bags in PvP. AKA “Cupcakes” as ASH calls them. They go where the potental for loot bags are highest. Orange swords, large group attacking a keep, anywhere large zergs gather will always trump a GvG challenge.
Therefore, your challenge rings hollow.
PSST, Ill let you guys in on a little secret: You can pin in GvG’s.
hey look wvw engineer builds
hey look pve engineer builds
Ran into a warrior in wvw the other day, running the S/S LB regen spec. Killed him, he joined my party, said I was good, and I gave him some advice on how to play the spec from my experience fighting other warriors playing it.
“kitten you too kitten” his parting words.
i’m pretty sure burning scales off of power
Was that an actual legitimate post?
I…hope not.
So… TFH… awful zergy in your BLs, but you might wanna work on your even number gameplay. Seems when we can best u guys then but then more of u show up to overwhelm all the time. =/
Still, way to hold your BLs on lockdown I guess…
You should go ask RH about the size of the GoM zerg in GoM bl tonight. =p I think I saw like 50 people chase down myself and 3 others xD.
Protip: If you are a roamer complaining about getting killed by zergs, you’re not a very good roamer. It’s very easy to spot and avoid a zerg, especially when it’s comprised of a pug/pver training session and moving around the map with the gracefulness of a drunken hippo.
Didn’t your time on NSP teach you anything? :x
I think he was laughing at how silly they were, not complaining.
They chased down a BS 5 man, too, with ~half of them downing. I don’t know how they manage to convince themselves that that’s okay.
I do really like the way conditions are implemented in this game, though I do admit they need toning down.
Being able stack near a minute of poison on someone, 12 second burns (That can kill some classes by itself) is a little ridiculous.
Cutting condition duration back a bit would probably be one of the best places to start toning condis down.
As of Dec 10th. Runes are Antitoxin, which haven’t been added to that editor yet.
Can swap corruption for earth/battle/geomancy/whateveryouwant when you hit 25 stacks.
(edited by K U T M.4539)
I think we have a fair amount, it’s just all pretty specialized into one area, and you partially rely on traits for it. I do think that maybe the -100% Expertise on incoming conditions below 25% HP is a reason why we got some weakness in turn.
That being said, between Elixir C and the gun I feel like I got some with me at all times.
Plus hey, could be worse. Could be a Mesmer. I don’t think they even have a 10s-cure signet or trait.
Their condi removal might be pretty insane after the dec 10th patch.
Perplexity runes got changed recently I believe, they were pretty overpowered a month or two ago and there was a fair few people running builds, you can try dig through youtube/forums to find a build. It’ll still be effective, just not as much as it was.
They havent been touched yet. Nerf/change is inc tho
Just wanted to pop in and say we haven’t forgotten about this. The good news is the change should be coming sooner than later.
Thanks for your patience.
Praise Lord Grouch
I only remember two people from TFI, and it’s sad to see them go. They were pretty inactive in wvw for a while before they left though, so that might be why you guys don’t remember them.
should
Please don’t tell me how to play a game
Awe you guys wait till the last day of the matchup to argue? wtf you guys suck! FC= skill ET= noobs!
Shh, we condi spam engis have no say.
DPS guard, Engi, D/D ele has worked really well for me in the past.
im in wvw usually from daily reset till like 3-4 hours later when i go to bed, sometimes ill stay on a bit later if the fights are good/often enough. Edit. pretty sure his thoughts are somthing like this its ok when i use it but if someone else uses it on me then thats not fair cause only im allowed to use cheese builds /rage
lol cheese? torment runes? lol no i run 2 +15% bleed duration and a +15% torm duration idk how u can even say thats cheese considering its not in any way but u can call it rage and cry about it all u want u can protect perplexity runes all u want doesnt change the fact that ur calling a none cheese build cheese which makes me laugh pretty hard LOL and ur from HOT? ive seen HOT this week and not even once have they given me a challenge must of been u
Aren’t you the S/S LB regen warrior? Probably 0/10/30/30/0.
Invogorating Speed
Incendiary Powder
The only reason everyone took IP is because our DPS is kitten without the burning. We can get burning from other ways, but most of them are NOT viable at all. Fix them and maybe it might be alright.
Invigorating Speed is pretty much what keeps engineers alive. Nerfing it because of the trait line it’s in is a stupid reason. Move it, don’t nerf it.
As other people in this thread, and Ostrich Eggs somewhere (Maybe this thread?) Nade+Bomb build will probably be the only viable build.
Such diversity.
(edited by K U T M.4539)
I sit at around 1.4-1.6k depending on my armor (Rabid vs Apoth)
I sit at about 3k in combat on mesmer.
What’s also cool about Celestial on engineer is that you can easily make use of every stat and stack might easily to buff your damage output.
I personally don’t use it as it doesn’t fit my playstyle, but it’s definitely worth checking out.
Mace is getting changed because a 3-4 second stun on a near instant skill that has the same animation as the autoattack is just ridiculous.
its more wvw that ime talking about like roaming zerking …
Engi is one of the best (in my opinion) roamers in the game. High mobility, great aoe for 1vX situations, good cc, good sustain just by bringing healing turret.
Crate elite + Nades + Bombs can make coming close to you a very bad idea for most classes, though learning to play the class takes a bit more effort than other classes, high level play excluded.
I would think that Mesmer should have far more duration in their confusion inflicting traits in order to allow Mesmer to be feared for its confusion duration more than any other class with perplexity. and not because it uses perplexity!!!!!
lol.
Perplexity, +40% condi duration food, +33% confusion duration trait.
hai friends 100% duration
its more wvw that ime talking about like roaming zerking …
Engineers are great roamers in WvW. They also have pretty good zerg builds, but those are usually very different from the roaming builds. Also, as far as I understand, there’s no real reason to have anything in a zerg except staff guardians/hammer warriors/staff necros/staff eles. I don’t really like zerging, so I wouldn’t know for sure.
However, engineers have a very high skill floor. Most engineers feel underpowered for a while. They are not overpowered even when played by a very skilled person.
The runeset that shall not be named can turn even the lowliest of engineers into an OP player.
Another question. Should I be going after a specific set of pistols and shield?
Apothecary or settler’s if you can. Giver’s if you feel your condis don’t last long enough.
Lol, Not stating that T1 only has great players, but the “regulars” in T1 tend to be better geared, and have better knowledge of their class and other classes, than the lower tiers.
They know how which weapons are best for spamming one.
Apothecary will offer the best damage while still maintaining silly amounts of tankiness.
With an apothecary set up you can also take other condition kits like nades for extra dps, or something like toolkit/eg or rocket boots for added sustain.
Edit: Dec 10th patch: the scaling healing bombs gets from healing power is being increased by 50%.
I’m so glad I play on a small scale server. This must play terrible.
I hear zerglings are actually more than 50% ant.
I can take 1v4’s against decent players easily with this kitten, needs nerf
If you win a 1v4, they’re not “Decent” at all.
Mask ur not gonna put 20 into Explosives to get IP?
honovi- Medkit provides more might overall with noble runes/sigil of battle/enhanced performance
whats your build? can u link itMask misspoke. He meant that you’d take Expose Weakness and then IP over Enhanced Performance. You don’t need Enhanced Performance – just take Elixir H and proc HgH, you will notice a difference, but you should have no problem reaching the proper stacks. It’s overall better.. remember, you have no points in tools for a better heal recharge on Medkit, and yet you have all the Elixir Traits to buff up Elixir H. The might stacking is great, but not everything.
This is why i don’t take it as well. 30/10/0/30/0 works fine for me. The only reason i can see running kit is if you really want fury for a little more offense.
Medkit triggers sigil of battle. That’s why some people prefer it in might stacking builds.
FC, how many golems did you just lose on that golem rush at our keep in EB? Didn’t even get through outer, either.
You’ll either lose 1 way to apply burning or 3 stacks of might.
So no.
Probably a mix of the HOTW gear (Forget the name of the pvp variant, sorry) and the gem store armor called Brahams or something like that.
It is that fun. That build no longer works as well as it used too, but there are other builds that can do similar things.
I find it funny it that it takes more than 10 AR to take north camp from one guy.
Can’t do it with one, can’t do it with three, couldn’t do it with 5, better bring everybody!
@Anvil Rock zerg in EB, don’t take a squishy thief as your commander, else our 4 man will drop him infront of your whole zerg :P
Why would anyone feel the need to post this?
Uh .. congrats on killing someone!
Commanders, regardless of class, are a target to any organized group for obvious reasons, and any decent 4 man should be able to drop one with a target assist regardless of what class he/she plays. It’s an expected hazard of choosing to tag up.
if it’s an expected hazard then why handicap yourself by playing one of the squishiest classes? Commanders should either be warrior or guardian…
An interesting take on what a commander should be. You do realize built/played correctly that most classes can be just as solid/tanky as a guardian or warrior, right? I have also seen both the before mentioned classes melt under focus fire just as fast as a thief. Although an interesting perspective as to what class a commander “should” be. Heck, a heavily bunkered necro is a far tankier choice than either guardian or warrior due to a huge base health pool and DS. You also need to take into account commanding style into whichever class you choose for commanding. Any player, regardless of the class they play, can be effective as a commander. Coming to the forums declaring that only 2 classes should command is absurd and uneducated.
Necrosis don’t have access to high armor or protection or stability.
Actually wrong on all 3 counts…
Spectral Wall = Protection
Spectral Armor = Protection
Lich Form = Stability
Plague = StabilityReasonably high armor and one of the best condition removal sets in the game.
Traited Stability on DS as well, and two massive health bars. But like I said, uneducated about different classes.
I don’t think stability on a 3 minute cooldown can be counted as reliable and no good necro build uses that stability in DS trait…I also don’t think a class with 0 mobility should be commanding.
Two things wrong with this paragraph.
Individual stability uptime doesnt matter AT ALL when commanding a zerg. Its a ZERG, everyone and their mother is a guardian running shouts.
Second, guardians have no mobility, either.
I guess their easy access to swiftness and leap on greatsword 3 don’t count…
Swiftness is an easily applied boon, and this is in a zerg setting. So that point is null.
Assuming Staff + X shout healway build for zerging, they’re probably going to be running gs or hammer, so they MIGHT have access to one of the lowest distance “Leaps” in the game. If someone escapes death solely by using leap of faith, their opponent must have been missing a few fingers. Or brain cells.
I am the best commander NA.
tru

This was discussed in a thread when ascended weapons were released with multiple infusion slots (To balance the AR).
They plan on it, but apparently it’s not something that’s easily changed, and isn’t high on their priority list.

good luck commanding from the ground
Player skill > Class.
I’m sure they’ll start working on it right after they fix kicking offline party members.
No please don’t
I log into HOTM so it doesn’t take ages.
I can’t believe anyone thought drop antidote was a good idea, it definitely needs some work.
Automated response – is not a cleanse.
Elixir R – Really? After the nerf it is very undesirable.
Elixir Gun – requires switching to the kit and ground targeting for one condition cleared with Super Elixir. and Fumigate won’t cleanse yourself.
Heal Turret – requires a “process” to cleanse anything.
Remove condi on elixir – Basically restricted to fairly specific builds.
Elixir C – This is the only true cleanse we have for ourselves, but it is a pain being restricted to elixirs only for a cleanse.
This is just how I feel about the limitations of the list your presented. When you look at it as a whole, it doesn’t look too bad, but when you try to put it into a build and want successful or comparative cleansing, I just don’t feel it leavs you with near as solid a build as you can get in solid builds when I play my other professions.
I put Automated Response because it’s condi-hate.
Elixir R is great in pvp with it traited to recharge at 25% health. Can use it to remove conditions and then as a self rez.
I have ranger/mesmer/guardian at 80 as well, and I’m more confident fighting condition specs on engi than any of them.
I kind of agree though, I play mainly a 3 kit engi, and until we have decent self cleanse from a kit, there’s not much we can do. What ArenaNet can’t do though, is just throw us more condition removal, because it could be horribly unbalanced if it fits into every build.
Please, anyone can say “we beat you” but with out video I don’t believe it. You have low standers for your self if your just running main steam builds that do not require skill.
You do realize you didn’t post a video of engi’s throwing bomb kits and warriors running away right?
That’s probably because engi’s can’t throw bomb kits.
