This is absolutely brilliant. Pure gold here. Well thought out first boss fight. Requires teamwork. Doesn’t cheapen legendaries/precursors because of their requirements. Encourages friends to play together, or members of the community helping each other out. I hope to Dwayna that the Devs see this. This is a must and would be so much fun. Hell they could even throw Scarlet in it and call it a Living Story and I would do it.

Well, that may be true in WvW or may be true on your server, my expierence is mostly spvp, where it is in fact rare.
OP was a wvw roaming build. In duel rooms, condi wars are common.

3K armor is actually kind of high, don’t need 2k if you can effectively 100-0 most people.
Basically, as zerk guard, unless you catch them with spirits down (And/or kill the spirits, ooc, come back), you likely won’t win versus a half decent spirit ranger.
As the poster above me said, it’s not really a L2P issue.
If I don’t enjoy fighting them, I just kitten with them and make it not fun to fight me.
the whole 2k-6k damage per skill thing is assuming they have zero condition clear which is extremely unlikely.
We’re talking fighting the build posted in the OP. He has a very low amount of condi removal.
all grenade effects have a very long duration. The Chill+blind are very good defense abilities and the damage is much better as with elixier gun. For example if an Engineer fights you with your build and he lands his #2 grenade you loose 6k+ hp (because of bleeding + damage + burning) with a single attack.
Each nade is about 2k in bleeding for me, so that x3, with shrapnel thats an extra 0-3 bleeds with a 21 second duration each, and burning on top of that four about 4-6k damage depending on condi damage.
Could easily take 10k+ damage just from shrapnel grenade.
Wait, PvE legendary somehow carried into sPvP? It’s like second amulet gem in terms of stats then.

Well taking a tower in an other BL, fortifying and placing siege in there..If you didn’t want to have to deal with that, you had more than enough time to kick them out of there before things got annoying.
Taking Stonemist and having a 145 PPT was more important than kicking GoM out of their BL we held a 350 PPT.
It’s cool, we know that Di is merely super tanks that pride themselves on being able to survive a prolonged fight.

They have a slight increase in stats over exotics.
Percentage wise, its about the same difference as between exotics and rares.

Double tap the healing skill, jumpshot (Leap finisher), detonate healing turret (Blast finisher)
The first turret heal will heal you for 2.6k
The second heal from turret will be an AoE heal for 2.6k + remove 2 condis.
Jumpshot into/through the field will heal you for ~1.4k
Detonating the turret in the field will heal you and those around you for ~1.4k.
You are still talking about sieging up a tower? How do you find that fun? We had to attempt to take hills to get fights tonight and then it turned boring as heck.

I am not new at all, but I am new to Guardian (since I leveled it here and there until 80 and then parked the toon).
Your suggestion would be then to leave AH when I start to get accustomed a bit with the mechanics? or give it a try, let’s say, to a AH full zerk gear?
If you’re not new to the game, don’t go AH. It’s basically for when you’re still learning to dodge.
Since you’re not new, I’d probably just go to the normal DPS build (Maybe with Knight’s armor to start) and just learn the DPS rotation/what to reflect, and you should be good.
I’d rather have main hand Shield and off hand Torch first.
Shield/Shield Engineer sounds all right by me.
I would totally run another shield over MH pistol.
If you’re really new, AH + Knights.
If you at least know a little bit of the game, Knights with the standard DPS Build set ups.
Slowly transition from Knight’s to Zerker.
The DPS loss is extremely noticeable in PvE.

Staff is probably the best weapon a mesmer has, overall.
A Warrior regs more with no Healingpower every second as we engis can do with bombs with a grand master tier trait thats balance!
And as an added bonus, you’re free to use your #6 slot as you wish, and it also heals friendlies around you!

And the best part is that healing turret is a more powerful heal (Used the way the majority of engis do, which is blasting it excessively) than healing signet. And then we have backpack regenerator, healing bombs, and high regen uptime on top of it.

That’s pretty amazing, considering the max power you can get from gear/trait stats is 1300, plus the 1000 base. Which equal 3300 attack and 2300 power. Well, you can add some might, rune stacks and food buffs there as well, but I dont quite see how that can reach a constant +1000 power over base stats. Where do you get the rest from?

Stack relation with mimic then do 492 retaliation dmg.
And with that much power, you can still hit for a decent amount.

And instead of fixing it, other professions come in to say, no problem dude, thief nerf is fine because you have lyssa runes. Can’t get any easier for thieves. Next nerf is probably change to HP.

Dagger storm gives you stability, sure. It also has a cast time of like a second before the thief starts spinning. It also DOESN’T break stun (which is the whole point here). It also has a 90s CD. It also removes the main Elite skill thieves use in WvW (Basilisk Venom) or PvE (Thieves guild). Finally, you CAN’T use shadow return while dagger storming because shadow return has a cast time, so it queue’s up after dagger storm. You have to waste a dodge and then shadow return (which still uses it’s stupid cast time) to get back.
Btw, what you said is like saying “Oh btw, you can’t use Supply drop on your engi anymore because you need stability on a huge CD. Use Mortar turret instead (i know turret doesn’t give stability, this is an analogy)”.
So basically, in order to not get stunned, he needs to put a stunbreak on his bar. Good thing thief can run 3 stunbreaks and be perfectly viable.

Basically the complaint here is that he can no longer spam his stunbreak, which was pretty kitten OP before. And then, because of this, he complains without making any minor changes to his build. He could easily change his build slightly (Literally change one utility, a rune set, etc) and be fine. But no he wants it to be like it was.Seems like the nerf worked as intended.

Quite frankly, my death rate has gone up about nearly 500% without sword ‘2’. Everytime I get caught by a CC, I eat about 3 seconds worth of zerg damage, and no, hard to catch is garbage. If you wanted to nerf the kitten sword move, how about separating WVW and SPVP changes?
I don’t expect any dev response, obviously.
Put roll for initiative on your utility bar,perhaps? Or maybe shadowstep, or use withdraw, or steal?
If your death rate goes up 500% by loseing 1 specific mechanic, then the problem is probably you being carried by an overpowered skill and your whole post actually becomes a pretty good argument as to why the nerf was needed.

I already have shadowstep traited and it has a 50 seconds cooldown, doesn’t give me stability and people seem to forget that S/D is merely the rough equivalent of a warrior popping the berserker stance. It takes 5 initiative for to have a “stun break”, and spamming it is our single defence against any form of CC because we DON’T HAVE STABILITY.

Happened yesterday in SPVP, after interrupting warrior’s stomp from downed, downing him in turn (still while downed), interrupting his next stomp after he got back up with vengeance (still while downed), and finally killing him after my chain-on-the-leg pet somehow managed to revive me, mere moments before getting stomped again.

How about they fix it so that when the ring is casted ontop of you it’s not a perma knockdown.
Elixir infused explosives? Then again, pistol #1 is not considered explosions…
Would make nade auto attack heal for over 1k at 2k healing, lol.
Pve’ers learn to dodge a bit better.
Wvw zergs become a lot more susceptible to poison.
