There really is no excuse for someone in WvW to not be able to craft Ascended Weapons and Armor.

You get the mats from killing the Lords.. you get the mats from taking the camps… you get mats from salvaging the hundreds of greens and blues you compile while collecting bags. you get heavy bags with the more mats. You get gold.. Not to mention all of the maps for WvW are littered with the gathering nodes you need for crafting as well.

To say you don’t have the means to get these things is ludicrous. To use the excuses that you don’t zerg, you like to scout, or you use all your gold on siege is just an excuse. If you really wanted to get the Ascended stuff, you’d take 30 minutes or more and aim at the mats you need.

I have 32 Dragonite Ore.

I play 3+ Hours of wvw a day.

I’ve crafted no ascended.

I have 19 stacks of Empyreal fragments.

I have MAYBE 10 Dark Matter. so much exos from wvw rite
E: Majority of my Dark Matter came from salvaging a set of zerk armor I used for pve twice. So maybe 2 from wvw so far.

Condi remove on kit swap is a good idea.

15% on crit would need an ICD of 3-4 seconds at least were it implemented.

Honestly I wish they would remove Automated Response and give us more easily used condition removal, as what we have currently is balanced around a 30 point trait.

Divide the number of mesmers by 4.

Then multiply it by 60, that’s the number of warriors that you’ve seen.

Only time I’ve run into XSV was some silly warrior who runs into us, tries to 4v1, does no damage, tries to run, dies, and a mesmer who losieight was eating, hit with 2 nades and proceeded to promptly die.

And sorry for failing to 1v4 you! That’s clearly a mistake on my part.

I beat both of you twice with no losses.

Grats on the AoE condition build vs phantasm mesmers?

Too bad the rest of your guild wasn’t running as OP of builds, otherwise they could come in here and brag too. But you know, bragging about winning friendly duels on the forums isn’t kosher, your guildies* are coolbeans in their gracious fights, win or lose.

I hear solo roamers sell out their servers commanders, troll camps, and throw random siege.

They also sometimes give away sentry points.

And, occasionally, they trade kills with the enemy behind a windmill.

Should ban them all from wvw.

Star’s ball is very good. BS had multiple skirmishes last night and we had difficulty killing any Star unless we separated them from their ball. The SF pugs tagging along were easy lootbags though.

Arena might be ok for GvGs but too small for 1v1s. There can only be like 4 duels going on at a time and even then it’s crowded.

The back of the stairs/stands/w.e is a good place to duel.

It doesn’t make you immune to daze.

Sustained ranged damage (Zerk scepter) and good condition removal (Medis, PoV+Soldier, Gen sigil, etc).

Best advice I can give if is, if the engi doesn’t have Elixir Gun (Spammable weakness + Bleed at range), do NOT let them stay in melee range of you.

Undead is a solid choice. Antitoxin is a solid choice.

With full Dire, Scavenging may provide more condition damage than Undead (7% conversion on vit vs 5% conversion on toughness)

Perplexity is brokenly OP 1v1, still amazingly strong in small groups after the “nerf”, and pretty weak in large groups.

Also: for sigils, you may want to look in Bursting, Corruption, Geomancy, Leeching, and Energy. All are strong on Dire engi, and energy may help a lot after the vigor nerf.

Condi damage on a guardian is REALLY lackluster, as they only damaging condition they can apply (not including sigils/runes etc) is burn.

Engi’s can have a lot of dodges.

Owner is a good idea. Commander just means they would have to invest more to be able to troll.

Quick things: Noble runes come from a dungeon, so they don’t actually cost any gold. The builds might not have enough crit chance to proc IP very often.
Elixir Gun as your main kit might not be the best choice (Don’t get me wrong, I love elixir gun in multi-kit builds), as it lacks AoE damage for those 1vX/XvX encounters while roaming.

Honestly all I can tell you as to which is “Better” is to try them both. Both are strong builds.

What you can do to decide which to try first is to watch some videos of engis roaming using similar builds to see which playstyle interests you more.

That would make sense. Very easy for Thieves/Mesmers/Elementalists to blow up a stunned target.

And then they need bunkers to counter the burst, and conditions to counter the bunkers, and then stuns to counter the conditions…

Assuming ~1900 condition damage meta necro build, 7 stacks of bleed could do over 1k DPS, burn could do 900+ (Dhuumfire), poison close to 300, if they were perplexity, 3 stacks of confusion can do 600ish damage per skill use.

With the amount of skills you used, you could have easily died from burn + 7 bleeds + poison + confu + the direct damage in the amount of time you said.

If you WERE hit by fear, thats close to another 1k damage per second that you were feared for.
