They said in the other (now trashcan’d) thread on this topic that it would be shipping with “other pvp updates” or something along those lines, and that they weren’t trying to force it into an earlier patch to make sure it works 100% before shipping it.
…Even though they said it was finished and ready in the very same thread. That was 1-2 months ago.
If you’re full PVT, maybe
I mean, Taquito’s not a bad thief, but don’t go around screaming OP because of one skilled guy who happens to be one of the only thieves able to manage through P/P and make it work. You and your friend have some serious learning to do if you let a P/P thief nearly take you down. Time his burst. Let him burn through death shroud – that’s what it’s there for.
Might want to run if he pulls out the fireworks tho.
Hello Zenith
Can I assume that your guild is really interested in improving?
Perhaps you can ask one of the hardcore guilds in your server to give some form of training or share some ideas.
Alternatively, you might want to enquire about asking or hiring drivers who specialize in gvg (15 and 20) mans or openfield skirmish (15-25man). It can go up to 1000-1500g (excluding transfer cost) for 1-2 weeks of training including build setups etc. Works out at ~4.76g per person per day for 14 days in a 15man group.
You might also get the trainer to log on to an account with a guard or warrior on your server if he/she doesn’t want to move over.
FW
I’ve been on a couple of guilds now that have this thing called “guild raid” on WvW borderlands.
“Everyone get on TS”, “Which TS?”, “Our own TS.”
“Everyone needs to have microphone to join and xxKIdxxx stop playing music on backround please.”Then about 7 people show up on borderlands and start afk’ing at spawn for good part of hour waiting for their buddies to show up. Once the number is about 15 it’s time to get inventory of professions and what equipment everyone is wearing. There’s debates about builds and what order every skill is used. The guild may have commander in it, but he doesn’t turn the tag on because some smelly PUGs might join the guild raid and that would diminish the glory.
“Alright, looks like we’re set.”
The 15-man guild group ventures out and meets enemy 25-35 man PUG group with commander leading it. The wipe is real.“OMG you guys suck! Didn’t I just tell you what field you need to put down! Why don’t you stick up with me?”
2 players kicked from guild.
Raid over.

OT: get a new guild
Everything needs to be shaved down a fair bit.
There is literally no counterplay.
Knockbacks = CC-effect
Stability = immune to CC-effectsYou literally dont know what literally means.
Throw Mine says hi.
Excuse me while I strip your boons every 15 seconds
1. Ele (Everything)
2. Ranger (Pigeonholed, VERY LITTLE build diversity)
3. Warrior (Needs rehab, too much steroids)
Don’t forget (at the start) that Life Blast
That was 3 life blasts.
8.5k/3 = 2.8k a hit. Warrior axe auto attack chain does more DPS.
Except Anet isn’t planning any expansions for gw2.
So, yeah
I know that Anet tries out stuff outside of live servers and I heard something about an expansion (autumn/winter), I am not sure how authentic it is though.
This game will at least be released in China, Brazil and Russia among others later on this year, according to a Eurogamer article.
http://massively.joystiq.com/2013/07/03/guild-wars-2-might-never-have-an-expansion/
Why wouldn’t a dragon look at how Zhaitan was killed and be like " hey you know what, this technology stuff is rather spiffy." ?
Beat the mortals at their own game, eh?
Engis can still get high uptime with 20 trait points, nerf pls
So it took like 1 year for gw2to have a smaller pvp than gw 1 currently has after 8+ years of neglection, such quality.
The guild wars franchise has a cycle that has been around since the beginning.
Game Release with high numbers – game slowly dies – games dead – expansion – game explodes – game slowly dies – games dead – repeat
With this trend it is obvious that the weakness is maintaining the numbers after the new releases. I personally think the new pvp system will be the solution to that issue much like the fortnightly release is for the pve guys.
Except Anet isn’t planning any expansions for gw2.
So, yeah
Darkhaven: VoC, Fin, BRL (PvX?), ANBU (PvX?), Xsv (PvX?)
Those are just the tags I see around a lot.
spvp is dead, this is coming from a rank 61. WvW is where it’s at. Sad, but true.
There’s actually DRAMA and COMPETITION in wvw atm.
It’s amazing
Mesmer with staff, sword, and blink/decoy on their util bar is one of the most forgiving set ups in the game.
1. Engi/Ele
2. Mesmer/ranger
3. Guardian
hey you necros have condi transfer and that really screws my build, nerf
My guild and I xfer’d to darkhaven a bit ago for smallman/solo roaming. The community is nice if you care about that (We were welcomed by guilds that knew us previously, so our experience my not be yours).
Roaming wise, 3-10 seems to be what you need for EB, as it’s pretty zergy. (I, personally, am a huge fan of the set up of EB so I tend to roam it solo more than I should. Steeper learning curve for when to gtfo, but its fun for me)
1-3 is great for bls.
EoTM is EoTM. I love it so far and if you find you do too, there’s really no reason to transfer.
Mag has a lot of roamers and small scale guilds, but personally if I were to transfer back up into that tier I’d rather transfer to a server near it to fight them.
FC has a great smallscale community with Main/Yarr, fun group to fight against, don’t know how much they’ve been enjoying roaming recently though.
ET was nice for roaming if you don’t mind solitude.
Please add a pvp rank and glory requirement, too.
Have it be in the R50 shop, costing 120k glory and 120g. (2x the price of a set of t3 currently)
For zergs your better off with full PTV, 10/0/30/30/0 full shouts with soldier runes. Hammer+Sw/Wh for swap
or be an ultimate meat shield with a sentinal+PVT trinkets 10/0/30/30/0 full shouts with soldier runes or melandru runes with healing banners.
Shouts are better for wvw due to how constantly regen is applied in zergs.
Also: He could be canceling the Evis. It’s rare that anyone bothers to, but it’s a definite possibility.
Mesmer can be OP on certain specs when fighting certain specs.
Shatter is not one of those certain specs, and its mainly strong in well-built groups.
I love pve’ers. They chase me whenever they see me fighting someone, which just earns me more lootbags.
It’s meant to be like that
Most of t1 was offered a solution to all the pvd and they took it
Good for them
sPVP =/= PVP.
PLAYER VS PLAYER. WvW involves player vs player, but maybe you forgot that while pounding on doors. I even specifically stated Conditions are in a good spot in spvp, read next time.
WvW is a distinct game mode name. PvP is a distinct game mode name. Do not blame everyone else when they adhere to that while you use varying terms. That makes the confusion your fault, not anyone elses.
Stop trying to start fights, and link the threads with math. There can’t possibly be math on every single build on every single profession, making any math there is inherently flawed as it leaves stuff out or assumes everyone likes to fight in vacuums, without blocks, without heal skills, and without condi removal. I looked through this entire subforum and none of them had any solid evidence as you’re suggesting. And no kitten, Dire isn’t OP on every profession.
If you agree Dire isn’t OP, then why are you attacking me for disagreeing with the OP? Apparently when someone disagrees with you, they are trying to start fights. When you make references to the wrong game mode it is everyone else fault.
You very specifically demand that they remove certain condition food, without providing any numbers. You again demand they remove a whole armor set without providing any numbers. Then you demand that I re-post existing numbers. A bit hypocritical don’t you think?
I’m not saying that someone in full Dire will do tons of damage, but neither will someone in full soldiers. It’s the fact that a condition player who, assuming they need crit chance, can gain 2-4k health just by mixing in a few dire pieces. Power specs that utilize crits can mix in soldiers pieces for the same benefit but at a MUCH greater cost to their damage. That is what’s broken with it.
You are mistaken. If they mix in dire gear, the damage is still lesser then a power spec soldiers wearer mixing in knights gear. In both cases they swap out some health pool for critical chance. Where is the MUCH greater cost?
1. sPVP =/= PVP =/= tPVP They’re parts of each other.
2. Condi food = 40% duration, 70 damage. Condi damage is 100 condi damage and 70 vit. Compare that to traits: 10 trait points = 10% duration or 100 condi damage.
i.e: Condi duration food is 4x stronger.
3. I already checked for the numbers. They’re not there, so please stop referencing them.
4. You don’t know how to min-max gear, obviously, so that discussion isn’t going to bear any fruit with you.
Please show me this vacuum where those calculations actually play out in a pvp setting, I’d love to bring my pve guardian there.
Please show me where 40% condition duration food or Dire gear are in the PvP setting? Read the OP. This is not a PvP topic. Even if we assume you meant WvW, it has been established for some time now that in most cases direct damage in soldiers gear easily out damages condition builds in dire gear, your jumping in late to the game disputing the established facts. Wouldn’t that put the burden of proof on you sir?
As well, do you really feel a guardians condition damage is more then a guardians direct damage?
As for WvW, the comparison for every professions damage capability in Soldiers gear compared to Dire gear has been displayed and explained in detail in 7+ threads. If folks would stop remaking and remaking this exact thread over and over, we would not have to keep explaining those just getting into a very old discussion.
looking through this sub forum alone, I count 17 threads on this topic that have been posted on in the last 7 days.

Remove/nerf the +/-40% condition duration food. Seeing as the +duration food for individual conditons is 15%, +/-10% duration seems fairly balanced. (Honestly I wouldn’t even use it at that point, I’d probably swap to 66% chance to steal life on critical hit, though the food definitely needs to be changed)
Remove dire. It’s a VERY stupid armor set. I feel tanky as hell in just Rabid (some rabid/apoth trinkets, I sit around 350 healing power)
That doesn’t make any sense due to the fact that the damage numbers presented in previous threads on this topic show that in most cases, Soldiers gear out damages dire gear. More specifically, in the case of the Engineer (since you mention it), Dire gear with bombs or grenades must have 50% condition duration or better to do equivalent damage to Soldiers gear. So I am struggling to see what facts your using to support your statement. You do specifically use the term “feel” when mentioning the damage. That appears to be a common problem lately in these repeatedly popping up threads about conditions and dire gear. Frankly, it is better for everyone if we simply use proof, facts, mathematical comparison, or any form of standard metric over “feel”.
Please show me this vacuum where those calculations actually play out in a pvp setting, I’d love to bring my pve guardian there.
pls yes
but knowing anet it’ll be a 20-30 point trait. In firearms.
I like this idea, too. But knowing Anet, you should know that this will never happen!
True
First, let me say that I main condition engi. Have for a long while now.
A few ways that would bring down condi builds significantly would be to add diminishing returns to condi damage past the 1200-1500 point, though condi damage gained through might should not be affected to keep conditions in zerg play at least sort of viable, and not totally kill might stacking condi builds. This also wouldn’t really affect conditions in pvp, as VERY few builds reach the 1400+ mark without buffs, and condi specs are in a pretty good spot in pvp right now.

Further nerf to the 6 bonus on perplexity, it’s still the strongest way to apply confusion in the game. The 4 bonus may need a bit of a lower ICD to compensate, though it feels strong and is sometimes picked by itself on classes such as necromancer for added condi pressure.
pls yes
but knowing anet it’ll be a 20-30 point trait. In firearms.
Mid bunker, attributes: be a Guardian
Roamer, attributes; be a Thief
Condition pressure, attributes; be a Necro
Decap, attributes; be an Engi
Warrior, attributes; be a Warrior
or you can say
Roamer, attributes; be an Engi
Condition pressure, attributes; be an_Engi_
far point assault atributes; be an Engi
home point bunker attributes; be an Engi
Don’t forget, Engi’s can also be warriors sometimes.
I’ve had sheltered interrupted also.
Possible there is a slight animation casting time?
And for me it wasn’t a case due to binding blades.
Shelter can be interrupted by unblockable CC. Guard walls, ele walls, engi magnet, Nightmare Rune proc etc
30 points in Valor is usually a bad idea for PvE/WvW, even more
so because you use such horrible traits as Purity, Altruistic Healing and Retributive Armor.Huh? Please explain. As far as I know, the Guardian-meta for zergs has 30 points in Valor and uses AH, and the meta for roaming has 30 points in Valor and uses Monk’s Focus. Now since you’re saying that’s horrible… I’d really like to see your reasoning behind this statement.
Wvw zerg meta is NOT 30 in Valor. It’s 0/0/10/30/30. Altruistic Healing is a purely self-sustaining trait, whereas traiting into Virtues provides more overall support for your team.
For general pugging when your pugs are unreliable, AH can be fine to keep yourself alive (Dat AH Empower tho)
Ultimate Domimator is the hardest title here but if you compare that to Champion Brawler or Top100 titles of the Arena, Ultimate Dominator is rather easy. Anyway, If it is restricted to only those two title, almost no one will be displayed, so meaningless. There would need some sorta modification on achieving titles though.
Hi.
Normally all titles are not displayed unless you click each person in WvW, but What do you think of making several titles that can be displayed? (like Ultimate Dominator, Champion Legionnaire~Shadow, Dungeon Master and etc… which are hard to obtain) So enemy and teammates can distinguish which one is to avoid, fight, or attack first and later.
And put server name beside name of commanders on both minimap and map in the edge of the mist if possible, and allies names are visible (I guess this way is much fun, only guess though)
Ultimate Dominator is the only one in that list that’s “hard” to obtain
He didn’t mention top 100+ or Champ Brawler.
What are you planning on doing with your warrior?
We need a map where the concept of capturing and holding territory comes into play. Our current maps barely have the concept. Here’s what it’s about:
Take the current EBG: The towers on the sides where the NPC camps are now block the entrance to those camps. The tower must be taken to gain access through the NPC camp into the enemy territory.
Add new “gate” targets on the major paths up to Stonemist. these gates act as a third gate to stonemist and are controlled by the last army to destroy the gate. Each gate starts under control of the side it’s on (red controls the north gate).
This ties in to what you are talking about but makes control of territory much more important to control of the map. The border towers can be easy to take and would allow your side to cut off an enemy zerg from reinforcing your keep when you retake it.
I like the waypoint chain idea but you would have to have the waypoints down the line break the chain. This way you can have a second force threaten the supply line to the front lines. Say waypoints go from your keep on the edge plate to the center objective. Your keep is 1, the objective is 3, and there’s a tower at 2. If that tower gets contested the waypoint at objective 3 would also contest. While this opens you for trolling it also provides strategic requirement to protect that second objective.
I know players love convenience but that same convenience prevents WvW from truly being a strategy game. If it’s structured like an RTS it has more depth in it.
And that would totally kill solo roaming. Noty
The Chinese. It was made because the queues they will have in WvW when they launch in China will be ridiculous.
The lower walkways and the northern part of the Desert part are pretty nice for solo.
that dungeon master title tho

Well, that was fast O.O
Guardian + shatter mesmer is already very strong, but with another guardian, it becomes unstoppable !Did you run into [mate] lately? They seem to have a pretty solid group too.
Yep shoebox’s guild is very skilled, was awesome fighting them in GvG 2v2 & 3v3, still looking forward to doing 5v5’s with them.
It’s not my guild, everybody’s equal in it :P Just clarifying haha.
Can’t wait to have some 5v5’s with you guys, and awesome vid Joe.
Thank you already, keep coming!
I allways heared “Full Zerker sux at WvW” and now you guys tell me to go for it? :O Did I miss something? xD I tought Power, Vita and Toughness is the way to go? O.o
Only for zerging, which you said you didn’t enjoy.
Am I really the only person who is having this issue in other maps too? (Khylo, SW, Forest, Foefire etc?)
I get it on Foefire and Spirit Watch almost all the time.
It looks..meh for wvw. The trait set up suggests roaming shouts, but the gear looks more suited for zerging.
For pve, like the guy above me said, it’s a joke
I think they should now make you go to spvp as well, and buy something with glory….
60k glory seems about right.
Could you imagine the PVE-fueled rage then?
“I HAVE TO SPEND A WHOLE 6 DAYS IN PVP?!”
It was made for me.
Void was made for you, or so he says.
He was, it’s true. I’m incomplete without him.
I think they should now make you go to spvp as well, and buy something with glory….
60k glory seems about right.
I’m r62 on an alt that I played in wvw for maybe a day.
Cry me a river.
It was made for me.
