Guys, it’s okay. Regeneration and pseudo-regeneration sources (like signet of the wild and natural healing) now generate Astral Force. I’m generating Astral Force like crazy! Try it! It’s absolutely no issue now!
I think Glyph of Equality also had some sort of 7% damage buff. (- UNCOMFIRMED)
My beef is…. Again, Celestial Form #5 is bugged in PvE to do less than the PvP numbers. (And I will keep pointing this out, until it’s fixed.)
Also, Staff is unfortunately a really trashy weapon with not much purpose besides mobility and projectile block. It’s too bad, because I really wanted another offensive weapon for rangers, too.
(edited by Kain Francois.4328)
Anyone notice how Glyph of Equality has a slightly larger tooltip?
Pre-patch it was 947 in pve. Now it’s 1,007.
>Their F skills have the same passives but improved actives.
Ha ha ha… ahhhh, no. The loss of ability to instant activate is a HUGE loss.
For example, it means when clearing trash, a Dragonhunter cannot blind spam.
It also means if knocked down, and you need an emergency blind, you cannot emergency f1 to blind foes.
Dragonhunter is a tradeoff of Guardian utility and defense for more Power and Range.
Not fixed… Let’s keep bug reporting.
Generation is in a good spot thanks to these changes.
Now, for the love of Melandru, please fix Celestial #5 in PvE.
Bristleback is a great pet for burst damage. I’m pretty proud of this dang adorable turtle thing.
All our cats are also especially good, with special mention to Lynx, Tiger, and Jaguar.
Hi,
The Celestial Form #5 for druids is doing less damage in PvE.
Specifically, it is doing approximately 50% less damage in PvE than my testing in PvP. This is also reflected by skill facts when moused over the skill.
Please fix it!
Axe is our ranged weapon when using Reaper (where we would otherwise have Death Shroud).
Not much else to comment, really.
Why are people talking about his playstyle and not the fractal 100 stage itself?
What’s Ancient Seeds? Wiki didn’t tell me nothing.
Astral Force punishes you for burst healing by making you lose 50% Astral Force just from leaving it.
I say if they remove that penalty, fix #5, and make it slightly easier to generate, it’d be in a better spot.
Personally, I hope they fix it to match the PvP Variant.
It is a really cool playstyle for Zerkers to build up Astral Force and unleash a burst with #5.
Among my testing environments, I also did Skritt in Dry Top.
While my testing environment isn’t ideal, something is very off. Just try it ingame and see.
The PvE version is significantly weaker.
Hi,
I’ve been playing around a lot with Celestial Form #5, and I noticed in PvP, it hits twice as strong as it does in PvE.
Full Zerker + Scholar runes.
Tested on Veteran Warthog in PvE: 1500, 1500, 1500, 4800 dmg. (Total= 9300)
In PvP, it hits around 3200, 3200, 3200, 6800 dmg. (Total= 16400)
Would it be possible to fix the PvE equivalent to match its damage in PvP?
Thanks!

Simple suggestion: Guild Hall Decorations reset button.
Sometimes someone puts a decoration in an unreachable area.
A simple reset button would resolve this issue.
Isn’t condi necro good for FoTM 60+ because of Epidemic?
Not sure if joke thread or serious.
Here’s my shot: Every time you use Gravedigger, you summon Trahearne as an ally.
While it seems weak in PvE, it’s really powerful in Conquest because nobody wants to touch a capture point contested by Trahearne.
I agree. Also, buff it for Power, too.
I really love the idea of it being similar to Ele Fire Staff.
I’m not going to acknowledge the flame war.
Anyway, Necromancers are not bad anymore.
Projectile Blocks: They got projectile block on Corrosive Poison Cloud and Reaper Shroud #2.
Blindspam: Nightfall.
Breakbars: Necromancers can break a breakbar like no one’s b****.
Bigger DPS for longer boss fights: Gravedigger spam.
Boon Corruption: Useful for certain Mistlock Instabilities. (Such as one of the Mai Trin fractals)
Condi Meta: The Necromancer’s ability to spread conditions puts it in a unique place in the new FoTM Condi meta.
For people who cannot access the site, what’s the build?
PSA: The trait Verdant Etching combined with Grace of the Land causes each of your Glyphs to apply a 3% damage buff to all allies, including yourself, and your pet. You do not have to be in Celestial Form to receive this dmg buff.
What does this mean?
SUM DURIDS IS 4 ZERKING!!!!!!!
You trade off Spotter and Quick Draw to increase damage of you, your pet, and your allies.
-Traits-
Marksmanship: Clarion Bond, Steady Focus, Predator’s Onslaught.
Beastmastery: Companion’s Might, X, Zephyr’s Speed,
Durid: X, Verdant Etching, Grace of the Land
Skills: Troll Unguent, Glyph of Empowerment, Glyph of Equality, Frost Spirit, Glyph of Unity
Usage:
Use Troll Unguent outside battle to charge your Celestial Form.
Cast all your utility skills for Frost Spirit + 3x Glyphs for a 29% dmg buff for you and your pet.
Remember Seed of Life blinds foes, heals, and removes conditions to all allies, in addition to the damage buff.
Swap your pet for quickness and fury, cast Celestial Form #5 for approx 15k dmg, swap to sword/axe, throw your axe, and slash things until they die.
Use Axe #5 for projectile block.
If you’re not using Longbow, then Staff is your swap utility weapon.
- Staff as a utility weapon, a primer-
Blast Finisher: Staff #3.
Projectile Block: Your #5 is a projectile block on a low cooldown.
Mobility: Staff #3. Do not use this as an evade because it ends early if it’s not moving.
Quickly charging Life Shroud and Interrupting: If for some reason you need to quickly charge your life shroud, use skill #2 and skill #1.
Reasons for quickly charging Celestial Form: Celestial #3 is a spammable Daze you can use to quickly break a boss’ breakbar. Furthermore, you may need to use Celestial Form #5 for its immobilize. Sometimes, your heal is on cooldown, and you can use #4 to heal you and your team.
Emergency Interrupt: If you use the trait the trait Primal Echoes, Staff can serve as an emergency-daze you can use any time you swap weapons.
…… But most of the time, you’ll just be slashing foes with your sword, provided you do not fall off a cliff.
Pros:
- durid dmg buffs 2 stronk
- Lots of condition removal
- Possibly(?) the highest Ranger DPS^ Citation needed
- Glyph of Unity is retaliation steroids
- Lots of Projectile Blocking if Staff is your swap
Cons:
- Casting a glyph will plant a 1s Light Field
- No Spotter :’(
- No quick-draw
- Not much flexibility for utility slots
- Celestial Form is difficult to build and fades away too quickly, making it difficult to actually use for emergency heals
Hrm, wiki says healing skill. Are there any other unlisted behaviors? Does it decrease damage?

Please DON’T nerf the enemy difficulty. PvE is finally fun again.
So what is its full effect? Does it reduce damage in any way, or does it just cleanse the blue goop when using your heal skill?
Hi, what does Nuhock Alchemy mastery do? Does it give me immunity to the ranged attacks Chak use?
If I want to camp in Tangled Roots, is it worth leveling, and where is it useful?
Will there be a mirror on youtube? I might not be able to make it, but i wanna see it!
Any chance of a precision buff for all pets? With Beastmastery+Spotter+Fury, they only go up to 60% crit chance. That, in my opinion, is the biggest issue facing rangers.
Why are Pigs so much inferior to Dogs?
Leave Bristleback as is. The thing is adorkable, and I want a good Power/Burst pet.
I’m looking at Revenant, Tempest, and Druid with jealousy as they all run healer builds. Meanwhile, the successor to Monk gets… traps…
Does anyone have any possible Guardian builds that could match them as a healer?
It is pretty unfinished, and ANET even admitted this. They are releasing Raids and Legendary Weapons and Armor with the new Living Story Season 3.
Furthermore, only 4 maps, when they the new WvW Borderlands has assets for many more (Desert areas, Lava ruins, etc…)
This is not news. It’s pretty obvious, and ANET admitted it time again.
Personally, I hope LS3 expands north to the Maguuma Wastes deserts. The assets they have now are so beautiful, and games need more western-style deserts.
Is EOTM still good for Badges? What drops it, then? I’m asking that since Events and Rank Up don’t drop Badges, what can I do to earn them?
Regardless of AP, what can I do in WvW right now? And which map?
Last thing I need for my legendary. However, events and rank ups aren’t dropping Badges of Honor anymore.
How do I farm them now?
It needs to be blockable, and it needs counterplay, without reducing its damage potential.
Too long; didn’t read.
Mallyx seems fine for condi builds. It can stack torment like no one’s itch. However, for power, it seems a little lackluster.
Embrace the Darkness is fine for the most part, since it increases outgoing damage by at least 15.18%, factoring in Power and Ferocity buffs on a Zerker.) Unfortunately, I do not know how this stacks with Might.
Unyielding Anguish is what needs a buff. It’s where in theory the bulk of our damage will come from. Ingame with zerker gear and no might, it does 970*5= 4850 damage, which is not enough to justify its cast time when compared to simply autoattacking.
Pain Absorption is cool on paper, but the Revenant’s lack of ability to cleanse conditions while in Mallyx form hurts it immensely. Furthermore, the Resistance duration itself is not long enough to justify its huge cost. This skill needs an energy cost reduction, and a resistance buff or cleanse.
Banish Echhantment seems good for small fights against a single foe, but really lacks use in a Power build. Why not both? I find myself having a hard time justifying using this skill, since 20 energy takes away from my ability to use other skills.
As for the Corruption Line, it’s a mess; it doesn’t know what it wants to be.
Rampant Vex, Opportune Extraction, and Yearning Empowerment are all mostly fine. Although, Rampant Vex and Yearning Empowerment feels like they can be a single trait. Not a big complaint. Opportune Extraction is incredibly useful.
The Adept traits are in a weird spot…
Replenishing Despair is useless. It’s not defensive against condis, because it has a cooldown, and its heal is absolutely PATHETIC! What is the point of this thing even existing? You could make this simply a passive 126 hp heal and it probably still wouldn’t be worth taking.
Demonic Defiance seems very good on paper, but the prohibitively high energy costs of Mallyx’s normal skills. However, by combining with Facet of Nature, and spamming Embrace the Darkness, it allows you to get near-perma immunity to conditions. Overall, I do just wish I had a cleanse instead.
Venom Enchantment has a 20s CD… Why? That means it has no synergy with Mallyx skills whatsoever. It has synergy with Mace, but that’s only on third strike by making it apply 9s of poison instead of 6s, and its still really prohibitive. This trait is garbage.
Onto the Master….
Bolstered Anguish is good on paper, but somewhat impractical. It’s a relic of the old Mallyx, and doesn’t really serve its purpose other than annoy Revenants who get condi-cleansed. (My personal suggestion is 2% dmg per condi on a foe…)
Frigid Precision is okay. Not great. Okay. It serves its purpose in PvP, but I cannot judge it for PvE.
Spontaneous Destruction seems pvp-centered too. Cannot judge it.
So for PvE, Masters traits are pretty much stapled into Bolstered Anguish, and it is a doubled-edged sword that is rarely useful unless fighting foes who give us condis, and even then, it would annoy Revenants to have their condis cleansed.
Grandmasters are the real mess.
Diabolic Inferno is badly used outside Mallyx because none of the others use their elite skills much in PvE. It’s also kind of useless outside a Condition build.
Maniacal Persistence is the weirdest of all. Why does it exist? All of the Revenant’s skills are based on fast attacks, so why is this a trait that works by delaying our attacks? I guess it can be thought of as being a 10% boost to crit rate every second attack or so in our auto-attack chain, but I don’t think it works well on our class.
Pulsating Brilliance. The only condition cure on a Mallyx Revenant, besides Staff. And its a grandmaster.
Mallyx needs a lot of looking at. Since GW1, Mallyx has gotten old and fat. This is a disgrace compared to the original boss in the Domain of Anguish.
I have yet to actually meet anyone outside this forum thread actually complaining about difficulty.
Come on, I’ve been doing Hero Point trains with people who have only 1,600 AP, and it’s been a blast!
Also, VaLee.5102 has 5,200 Achievement Points. I don’t think they can speak for the casual player.
Any videos on what the fully-restored guild halls look like? I really love the beautiful sunset and sandstone look of Lost Precipice, but I don’t want my house to be a bunch of broken ruins… Will they ever be repaired?
Why do people assume that casual players suck at this game? Is casual suddenly a codeword for "bad: or “braindead”?
Here’s a little schooling for you: A casual player is simply someone who plays less than others, and enjoys smaller pieces of content rather than walking in with a completionist attitude.
A casual player is completely capable of everything any other player can do in the open world. It just means they have less time to do so.
Quite the contrary, because a casual player chews smaller pieces of content at a time, the stronger enemies give casual players a sense of adventure, and unlocking an uncontested waypoint would feel like a big accomplishment to them. It actually works in their favor, because it makes the game feel like a journey, rather than a stroll.
Also, please stop trying to ruin my expansion with bad feedback. I don’t want the devs to get confused and kill the thrilling experience of traveling through the new zones.
The hole in the tummy ruins it for me. I gotta pass. It’s 2ocd4me.
Hi,
With the new changes to how guilds work, how do I get a guild bank?
May AF stay out of combat, and make it generate more from dealing damage, sorta like how Necromancer’s life force work.
(While at it, please add a second damaging skill? please? please?)
Thread title ^
With the recent changes, does Ascended Armor still drop from FoTM? Or do we have to craft it now?
Hi,
For PvE, I’m being recommended to run Domination/Illusions/Chronomancer.
However, my crit rate is only 58%, without any fury to back it up.
Does anyone have any tips for gaining crit? (Any ascended assassin rings yet?)
Stealth Gyro is OP. It’s 30s of stealth, as long as you don’t move out of range.
And no, enemies do not care about your gyro whatsoever. You can essentially stealth through an entire explorable zone, and enemies will be looking at the flowers instead.
My only complaint is it STILL doesn’t stick close enough.
Only gyros I’m not liking at Condi, Blast, and Whirl.
After playing, I find Bulwark Gyro incredibly useful, and I LOVE the instant activation (even while knocked down) of the Healing Gyro. Combining the two, I have a toolbelt that gives AoE Protection and Bulwark Gyro, reducing damage by a good 65% or so.
Tangled Depths is possibly the biggest area in the game. That map has 4(!!!) levels to it. Other maps, like Verdant Brink, has 3.
The only map without a complex layout is Auric Basin.
I’d say it’s big enough.
So no spoilers inside the map? I can freely do it for farming gold and stuff?
Thank you!
bump
Please help me out here.
