Speaking from a PvE perspective:
1. How’s the death line? Are you using it at all in non-minion master builds?
The line is obviously very “tank”-oriented, centered around toughness. Not too useful in PvE Open World and Dungeons, since it must compete with Blood Magic and Curses (while Spite is a staple in Power builds…)
Deadly Strength is kinda weak for a Death Shroud build. Even maximized toughness at 2780, you only get 389 Power while in Death Shroud. This doesn’t feel like enough to warrant using Power+Toughess+Ferocity gear, since Death Shroud’s Life Blast is somewhat weak in the first place. May be useufl for min-maxing in PvP.
Death Nova is waaaaaaaaaay too weak. Too high of a CD to warrant using. Jagged Horrors die too quickly. The minion cap is too low…. Only two Jagged horrors!?!? Poison Cloud doesn’t deal enough direct Power damage, and it doesn’t deal enough Poison Condition damage. It doesn’t even have a good synergy with Bone Minions either, since Bone Minions Putrid Explosion cannot crit, and have no AoE targetting. Why use this ever? I don’t ever see a justification in PvE.
Overall, I think Death Magic has use in PvP, and the damage reduction to poisoned foes seems sweet. But it has no use in PvE, and a couple of the offensive traits are kinda bad.
2. Condi was thought to be really bad before everything came out. Have you tried out This build by Zombify? How did you like it?
It’s a PvP build. Zero relevance to me.
3. Have you been successfully running any odd builds such as minion master or bunker?
Blood Magic and Vampirism has been pretty successful for me. But that’d only be considered “odd” prior to the update…. Now it’s meta, and pretty baddass.
I do not run bunker for PvE.
I messed around with Minion Master, but it just pales in comparison to Wells builds.
I did try to run a Condi Mancer with Wand. It felt very slow, and lacked the same damage output other condi classes could do, since poison does not stack fast enough, and the bleed itself stacks too slowly.
Then I tried Runes of Balthazar and Dhuumfire burn build…. It was awful… just… awful… awful… poop awful…
4. Yes, I already have feedback on CC and Plague.
Thank you. It makes no sense that Consume Conditions is nerfed, while the Healing skills of every other class was buffed.
I think it’s important to have Consume Conditions also be a very strong skill, since it’s the first Healing Skill players will see in the Necromancer tutorial. If a new player rolls Necromancer, and they see it applies Vulnerability to themselves, then they will have a very bad impression about Necromancer and skill balance.
It really sucks that we will be waiting another 2 years or so before the next expansion, where we might finally play as Tengu…
You know, the Megazord sounds like a weapon the Priory has stored in their basement…
Best Necro Build:
Go into Spite, for the trait that gives you +25% downed damage. Next, for food, use Bowl of Fire Salsa for +20% downed damage.
Go into Blood Magic to eliminate degeneration when down.
Now simply go into down state, spam autoattack, and watch things blow up.
Nerfed.
- Ground target is a pain to use.
- Lower duration fury
- Why do the drops cure different types of conditions, instead of simply conditions, period? This creates false skill diversity, and simply adds another annoying thing we must keep track of.
Seriously, the old medkit was far superior for ease of use.
The heal autoattack is cool though….
In testing in the mists, MH Axe + Traps seem pretty strong for condition damage.
What is the communities opinion on the PvE meta? Should Rangers still be running Power Zerk with MH Sword, or go Condi Sinister with MH Axe?
I wouldn’t mind an indestructible golem, either.
The guy who designed the changes for corruptions should be punished with playing them for at least 6 month.
I like this idea.
So in case you’ve been living under a rock, you probably noticed the changes to Bomb Kit, with the elimination of hobosack.
While the community thanks ANET a lot for finally killing the hobosacks, now we have a bigger concern: Skill animations of Bomb Kit.
Try the Bomb Kit ingame, and see what I mean. Your character does this weird thing where they do squats with a big keg they’re holding… And as if that wasn’t bad enough, the bombs they drop, are MUCH smaller than the actual Bomb Kit keg you hold.
Because Bomb Kit is our main source of autoattack DPS, and one of our most used, and most important kits, on behalf of the community, I would like to ask that ANET please consider redoing the kit animation.
Thank you!
Skill Points/Spirit Shards were nerfed because people like me were farming legendary weapons and selling them for game-breaking amounts of profit.

This is now a trash elite.
Just give a 20 second well that pulses blind That was the only reason to use this in the first place.
I genuinely love all the icons they made.
The falling one is a Nuclear icon.
Requesting old bomb kit animation back.
I like the halloween way of doing things. They kept the weapons prestigious, but still introduced them back enough to keep a supply.
…. I really want a Scythe Staff….
Hey, does anyone have any good condi builds for PvE? Solo or DUngeon? Thanks!
So is the consensus that still Power > Condi for necro? Even in the case of Epidemic?
You don’t think Unicorns are inspiring?
I’d be happy with melee staff or sniper rifle. Both are some of my favourite weapon archetypes, anyway.
Theory: What if the data-mined “sword” skills from a long time ago, were actually just out Elite Specialization’s version of dagger skills?
What if our elite specialization changes our mainhand skills?
Mortar Kit is okay. A little underwhelming compared to the other kits, but okay nontheless.
What bothers me, is that Bomb Kit looks so… uergh… I really liked the old animation better, since it actually looked like you throw bombs onto the ground.
Honestly, they really should adjust Necromancer. It’s ridiculous that the ONE class, who thematically makes the most sense to be using conditions, is also the worst at them as well. Necromancers and Rangers should be the best condi users.

As a Black Norn, I’m not sure how I feel about suddenly becoming a white guy in my portrait… Is vitiligo a thing in Tyria?
Let’s be clear, this version of condition stacking and condi builds being viable in all games modes is a large part of our goal. We just want to make sure we don’t create imbalances that actually make the game less fun. Don’t expect huge balance swings, but rather our balance goal has always been to make more small adjustments.
Just PLEASE be gentle with this… Please….
Condi users are finally enjoying conditions in PvE. Please don’t ruin bleed or poison!
I don’t like the idea of a cap. I believe if a player is able to stack conditions, they should be rewarded for their skillful gameplay. Rather, they should simply fix burn.
Is there a certain time frame we can expect the update? I’m not sure if I should emotionally invest in condi builds yet.
Hey Jon peters, whatever you change, please be sure that those of us who bought Sinister Gear on our Rangers and Necromancers wont be for naught!
Please be gentle to Necromancers! (We need a buff…. Fix Consume Conditions and Plague, plz!)
Just a reminder that Poison will stack with each pulse.
Oh yeah, we still have our 20s permablind on skill#2.
Plague will become a VERY powerful elite.
ANET really needs to make a Floating Shark as a pet someday.
Devs want to give Consume Conditions synergy with Condi-transfer? VERY simple solution: Make it grant 4s of Resistance, so that we may transfer the 10 stacks of vuln, without suffering from it.
There. Was that so hard?

You’re going to buy the expansion, and you know it. Don’t kid yourself.
25 Bleeds is high enough. If you have multiple Necros in a party, you can already insta-wipe a group of enemies. (Actually, I see that becoming a speed-clear tactic.)
I like how there are hard-counters to certain clases. It makes the game more like TF2.
It seems like the Reaper Scythe is a “weapon kit” similar to Engineer kits, Conjures etc… I don’t imagine it changing because of a legendary.
OMG it’s a dev in the Necromancer forum! (Can we haz Consume Conditions revert?)
Anyway, the spectral walk change seems like a worthy bug fix. Was honestly about time. Was fun while it lasted.

Honestly, I feel $50 is fair for a new expansion. A lot of work has been put into this, it might as well be worth a whole new game entirely.
If you’re bothered by price, just wait a bit. We all know it’ll go down eventually, and this $50 pricetag is only for the most hardcore of fans, who want to play it as soon as possible.
That said, I think people actually aren’t aware why they’re angry. It’s not the $50 pricetag people are consciously angry about, but the $75 and $100 dollar Deluxe and Ultimate editions. Simply by being in eye-view, right next to the other stuff, there is an association with Heart of Thorns having an outrageous price…. But that is a separate issue altogether.

Oh for PEELING QUAGGAN FLESH’S SAKE, I want that glider… But since the 4000 gems are $25 off, I might have to buy that, too…
Son of a Dolyak…. Welp….. There goes my cash down the drain.
Oh well… Least it’s worth it, I think. GW2 is one of the only games I play, so I guess this is a nice investment instead of buying multiple Nintendo games and a Wii U…

Honestly, if you’re hardcore enough to buy the expansion, are you really having Gold issues to buy an additional character slot? Because there will be a massive amount of players cashing in on the $4000 gems, gem prices will go down, and 800 gems will be significantly cheaper.
John Smith is technically fixing gems, here.
The pricing is unethical, but come on. We’ve been waiting 3 years for this expansion. Is there any hard core GW player who isn’t going to buy this?

Hi,
I’m a little torn apart if to by the Deluxe/Ultimate versions, or the normal version of Heart of Thorns.
I’m not desperate for character slots, I don’t own a guild (so no use for Guild Hall decorations..), and I don’t care for Minis or Finishers.
The only thing I’m wondering, is what the Heart of Thorns Glider Skin looks like? That will decide my purchase.
Is it just the Glider with the Heart of Thorns logo on it?
I don’t think it’s illegal, if what they did was essentially make the base game free, while heart of thorns itself is what costs the $50 dollars.

You’re going to buy it, and you know it.
It’s a bad change. Just compare with other profession’s healing skills. It’s called unbalanced.
Reddit post has a point. Keep this peaceful!
Let’s be melodramatic and exaggerate, but let’s also show love for our favorite class!
A player-organized event dedicated to “celebrating” the changes to Consume Conditions.
Bring your Molachev kittentails to the newly rebuilt Lion’s Arch statue!
Elementalists, Warriors, and Engineers are welcome, too! Bring your fire fields to show solidarity!
- Date: June 23rd, as soon as update hits.
- Time: As soon as update hits.
- Details: A “meetup” for Necromancers at the newly rebuilt Lion’s Arch statue, to “celebrate” the changes to Necromancers, and our beloved healing skill, Consume Conditions.
- World/Server: Tarnished Coast
- Region: NA
Hosted by Necromancers for Change, a gathering of Necromancers.
Bring your minions, and Molachev kittentails!
I do not like my green eggs with ham. I do not like them, Sam I am.
Do not pester me with Consume Conditions and Vuln. I do not like them, Gee I am.
I’ll keep it short and simple: You can’t make a skill revolving around curing conditions, give you a condition.
I can accept a cooldown nerf. But making it apply TEN(!!!) vulnerability to us, is just complete asinine.
Any “synergy” with condition transfer builds that you might’ve thought “cool” on the test servers, does NOT justify completely nerfing the use of this skill for every other build.
Don’t tell us to “bring with Plague Signet!”, because expecting us to use two utility slots, just for bare use of our heal, is even more asinine.
You had ONE job, that the Necro community has been asking about for nearly 3 years. Don’t take 2 steps forward with the blood magic changes, but 3 steps back with this nerf. Revert the consume conditions changes!
