Unless you’re just feeding a 3 v 1 endlessly and getting ganked instantly, spending more time on respawn than in the actual fight lol. Most of the times when there’s an absolutely far-point obsessed person on my team, he claims to be 1 v 3’ing for like 3 seconds until he dies saying it’s a 4 v 2 everywhere else, but the reason it was a 3 v 1 at far was because everyone wiped and is on respawn on our team from a 5 v 4 fight earlier that he wasn’t a part of, lol. (Either that or he THINKS he’s in a 1 v 3 but really it’s one mesmer or one thief with thieve’s guild)

Of course, whether or not you managed to get the decap also matters a lot. It’s even more disappointing when the loudmouth on your team who says he’s 1 v 3’ing at far for a total of about 3 seconds was fighting on a point that belonged to the enemy without even managing to decap it, then just fed them more fast kill points lol. I think that’s even more frustrating than people zerging off point while 3-capped, especially if they keep doing it the whole match. X_X;;

I’m not saying it’s not nice to have a far point assaulter once in a while who knows what he’s doing, but it seems like a lot of people these days want to be that guy and really aren’t up to the task at all.

Yeah… I don’t really want them to NERF NECROS INTO THE GROUND like they did in the past, buuuut…. when I kill someone accidentally with a locust touching them while they’re standing behind me and have it explode on them with fire + air + spinal shivers and neither of us knows what just happened, that does seem pretty messed up lol. It could use a little adjusting. :P

I supported Gnashblade, and I think his goods will never be reimbursed because the way the conversation with Gnashblade appeared during the event with Scarlet was that he was going to be killed as a traitor if he didn’t, so his ‘payment’ for his goods was his ability to keep his life and dignity. :c

LOL! I’m not gonna lie, I laughed out loud when I saw how fast they jumped on that fix. It’s a welcome surprise as opposed to the long wait for the turret engi fix. :P

I don’t run meta builds because I’ve always just experimented with professions until I found something I liked, and ‘meta’ for guild wars 2 is actually a newer concept. At least, I hadn’t even heard it used here until around last year or so.

I play builds that I enjoy playing, whether it’s in pvp, pve, or wvw.

Even so, my builds are still builds that I took a lot of time theorizing, trying in all aspects of the game, and mastering, so I don’t feel like I’m crippling my team when I join a match. If I feel that there’s even a slight chance that I might not play well or don’t know my strengths and weaknesses well enough, I only play in hotjoin matches, custom arenas, wvw, PVE (against certain champions and such) until I feel strong enough to join an actual unranked match solo.

With how toxic the community can be sometimes, I really don’t care what my team thinks of me, but I don’t want to compete with a build that I don’t feel I’m good with for my own sake.

Today I logged in and tried to play around a bit but I’ve been lagging really badly. It seems like server-sided lag to me, since it’s skill lag and rubber-banding teleports and my FPS and ping look fine. I ran a speed test on my internet and it seems to be normal, and my computer doesn’t seem to have anything wrong with it. Is anyone else experiencing this? I just want to know to see if it’s something I need to fix on my end or if it’s on the server’s side. Thanks.

Just my opinion, only a few things need to be adjusted and it would help significantly.

1. Increase gearshield CD to 30 sec
2. 1/2 to 3/4 cast time to rifle KB
3. Icon to show when the next attack inflicts burning from IP so it can be avoided. And allow it to avoided on the next attack regardless if you hit or miss
4. Reduce slick shoe kd from 3 to 2

Great suggestions. I would also like to see healing turret have a 0.75s cast time so that it is possible to interrupt. The power of this heal is a big reason why engies are so stong, and giving it SOME kind of drawback would be a great thing.

And yet I can’t seem to figure out a decent balance for ele’s..bah.

:-P I agree with some of your ele thoughts, but not others due to my desire to promote builds outside of d/d (which is hella boring anyway). Even then, d/d ele has its own problems being slightly inferior to shoutbow (which is OP).

Luckily, Anet is about to power-creep everything up to high heaven and make all those discussions moot.

As for the topic at hand, I think engis are still strong but not OP now, because so many other classes have strong builds and/or exploits to boost them up a bit (referring to mesmer gs stow).

Sure, going into a fight with an engi I always anticipate being condi bombed and CC’ed like crazy, but it’s not un-counterable or any stronger than the meditation burst from guardians, CC burst + immunity from warriors, panic strike or s/d burst from thieves, shatter burst from mesmer, ranger burst, or any other well-rehearsed opening, at least not in my opinion.

(Not that any discussions about balance are meaningful now anyways with a huge patch incoming, but whatever right?)

Oh and inb4 “You play engi so you’re only defending yourself.”: I play zerker flamethrower 0/6/0/6/2 so really none of the complaints even apply to me. I just thought I’d add my two cents to the mix.

Guardians aren’t ‘namby pamby,’ especially if you play a bursty meditation build.

Warriors are pretty decent too, although there is one dilemma I think you might encounter with them: most warriors feel that having a longbow equipped is crucial to their success, which means you might not be as good going full melee. Still, I personally think hammer/gs is an alright weapon set for them.

Also, being a norn does make you an easier target, but it depends more on your build and how you play than what you look like, especially once you get into higher tier matches. If you’re the first one on the point and in the middle of a fight, close-range pressuring people, then you’re probably going to get focused first regardless of what your race is. :P

Rune of the pack is my favorite. Increased swiftness duration, high power and precision, and an AOE swiftness, fury, and might buff when you get hit.

If it wasn’t for the perma-swiftness that engis can already have, traveler would be my next favorite though because of the mobility. :P

Yeah, zerkers need to be nerfed and celestials need to be buffed so no one will EVER be able to compete with them again. Mwahahahaha!

The PvP in this game is dead so it dosent have a working matchmaking system because there is nobody near that MMR range playing at the same time so they just put solo Q vs premade.

And even if they put high MMR solo Q’ers vs high MMR premade, the premade will still win 9 times out if 10 unless they are not in TS and playing some random troll builds.

So the whole matchmaking system is a fail. Not only in theory but also in game.

The excuse of a low number of players is a bad one. The matchmaking system is just horrible right now. ANET tried to get creative and add in a bunch of factors that had nothing to do with actual skill.

It really takes talent to take the ok system that existed previously and make it even worse. Grats ANET.

I wish they would just go back to the old system for crying out loud.

Keep playing unranked until the system figures out where you fit in. Matchmaking usually gets better after about 100 games.

I think I am over 4000 games at this point across different accounts and it is still horrible for me. Maybe I need to play more.

Well, in my extremely biased opinion, you can’t go wrong with the meta ele or engi. They’re always helpful to have on your team.

Lol, I kind of miss the old FGS rush and meteornado, even if they weren’t working as intended. They offered at least a situational reason to use them, and now FGS is ONLY used for the mobility and tornado isn’t really used for anything.

But hey, they’re changing mortar for the engineer finally so maybe they’ll take a look at ele elites too.

Although my builds always get called OP at some point, my current builds are a flamethrower bunker down zerker engi and a diamond skin staff ele. I started using my celestial ele build back before the celestial amulet was buffed and diamond skin even existed, but lately I’ve been a little bored of it so I decided to try something different with my zerker engi. c:

Idk about underpowered, but I never really got into the meta builds. I like to experiment and use the element of surprise too much. c:

There’s not a whole lot that I hate, but this is my list lol:

1. Badmouthing and poor sportsmanship.
2. Super long queue times.
3. Skill lag. Or maybe lag in general, idk.
4. Immobilized bug. (most bugs, actually)
5. Being the only non-thief on my team.
*6. Oh and of course, hobosacks. Watching my beatiful rifle and light of dwayna disappear whenever I equip an ugly kit.

Aside from the name (which I would have liked to sound more angelic or like a paladin or something) this is almost exactly what I was hoping for for the guardian. It’s what I expected it to be when I first started the game, but I was always disappointed that a guardian couldn’t use an angelic bow of some sort. I definitely can’t wait to try it out. squee x3

Well, I personally think that people are filling their heads with too much hot air as it is, and am grateful for the lack of carrots to chase and brag about. But if it would decrease queue times then by all means, Anet should totally go for it.

The armor and weapons you get from the weapon/armor chests are exotic level 80 regardless of your level and they are the real armor/weapons that you would get from the dungeon vendor. Everything else loot-wise is based on your level though, so instead of getting exotic guilded coffers or something you’ll just get green ones and lower level loot.

Power ranger, shoutbow warrior, celestial ele/engi… maybe power necro or minion master necro lol. Whatever takes the least amount of effort to play is my guess.

Engineers have AED which might do that, and leveling up can do that too (even in PVP on rare occasions).

Mesmer mantras are also instant for each cast after they’ve been charged, and elementalists can heal very quickly when they swap to water attunement.

Guardians have their meditations that can heal them instantly, too, although none of these really FULL heals any of the classes instantly besides maybe AED for the engineer if you hit them hard enough to down them when their AED is up.

If it’s true that we’ll only be able to invest into 3 trait lines at once then my mesmer build is shot because I use 2/6/4/2/0.

Much like with the long silence about turret engineers, I think anet is just slow to catch onto this. It might get fixed… eventually. :/

There actually is a bug that causes this to happen sometimes. Whenever the ping seems to repeat for a long time I just assume it’s this bug, because it can last the entire match and there’s no point in raising your blood pressure over nothing. Even if it really is a troll, it might be better to just assume it’s the bug. :P

I like my Honorary Skritt title best because it reminds me of my goofy little pet rats, but I also like my legendary champion title. Lately I’ve been using the skritt one more though because it draws less attention and is cuter, lol. :P

I would like the Closer to the Stars title too, but idk if I would use it more than Honorary Skritt.

I think a “Skritt-Brained” title might be kinda cute too, but some people might take offense to it. xD

Balance got worse, the meta changed to mostly AI and celestial builds, and structured teams are very common because otherwise you just get steamrolled by said structured teams. That about sums it up, but that’s just my own opinion.
