Unless I’m mistaken, this is about communicating with your servermates for WvW purposes. Since the megaserver is here there’s no way to talk to just the people on your side in WvW, the suggestion here being that /team chat basically becomes /server chat, I think.
Start a cross-server guild to collude and hunt them down to start fights. I’d be willing to join a guild like that, and some other people expressed similar sentiment in the badwrongfun thread. People like that would be easy to massacre with coordinated defenses.
The best we can hope for are very small QoL improvements that can be easily implemented.
I think the best I can really hope for at this point is for them to arbitrarily rename things and shuffle merchants around, as that seems to be all the attention WvW is getting lately…

According to Dayra’s link ET is in 24th….
Which was the entire point of the post, which seems to have gone right over your head.
I’d buy that. Someone has the notes for Scotland the Brave for the flute posted on the audio forum, would be pretty great to play it on actual bagpipes.
By far the best would be some kind of anti-siege trap.
It could be fairly simple, essentially Retaliation vs. siege equipment.
Some kind of trap that destroys siege build sites or delays the ability to put supply into them might be nice. Could work well to buy time for defense if you spread them around the common siege spots.
Some sort of trap that took a large number of people to trigger could be interesting.Say 10 or 15 people to trip it.
Well I suppose an update telling us that we’ll get another update soon™ is better than no updates at all….’least I have a new instrument to play around with to keep me entertained.
To unlock an episode and have it added to your story Journal, you simply need to log in to the game during the two-week period that the release is live to be given permanent, free access to the storyline of that episode. Once you’ve unlocked it by simply logging in, you can replay that episode’s storyline on any character on your account as many times as you like from your story Journal forever. Past episodes will be available for purchase for 200 gems. (Don’t forget you can earn gold and purchase gems to unlock the episode for your account).
from https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/introducing-the-story-journal/ makes me suspect that it will be permanent, at least if you’re willing to put a couple hundred gems towards it.
Please don’t delete them!
You can hold on to your extra blade shards, as the team will be adding something later which will allow you to convert the shards to something of value. Dev will be announcing more on that later. Thanks!
Was the anet post telling us to keep them, apparently greens count as something of value now.
Eh, you’ve done it before, so it’s going to be easy for you. It didn’t take me more than a few tries this time around either, though they did remove the dome around the arena and might’ve changed some other things that I didn’t notice.
Not like it’s terribly hard to kill her again if you’ve done it before, it only took me a few tries to kill her again this time…
Well, it’s hardly a challenge if you remember how you to got the vista near it.
Look at the mini map in the OP, different node.
I stopped trying after like two minutes, but having gotten bored and poking around other places in the map, I seem to have found the result of a teleporting experiment gone awry.
Transferring worlds during a tournament will prevent players from entering the Mist War for the duration of their current matchup and the following WvW matchup.
Players are still able to play in the Edge of the Mists during this period.
Took all of 5 seconds to find, and it was in fact bulleted.
Honestly, with the aoe looting they did a lot to alleviate this particular problem. (Though autoloot would be awesome too.)
The unpaid intern they put to work on this probably just isn’t with them anymore, bringing progress to a halt.
I saw one on AR once, but that was a pretty long time ago now.
Blockhead Magee is right, many of us don’t pop our ArenaNet tags when playing. When we do play with it on, it tends to act as a beacon that draws the enemy in like moths to a light bulb.
We are out there, even if you don’t know it.
It’s true, I’ve hunted down and stomped the couple that I’ve seen, if only to be able to say that I’ve staked a couple.
So fleeing from 1vs1 situations that you start losing or calling your friends to Xvs1 them is ok as long as no one /bowed. Fair enough.
Pretty much, it’s not a duel if you don’t bow, no reason to fight a losing battle if you can avoid it.
Maybe it’s a mesmer thing…happened to me the other day too, but it wasn’t death that caused mine.
Playing in time would be pretty hard, I think. Maybe you could get on ts3 or vent and have a metronome playing through someone’s mic? Though even then latency would make it tough.
I’ve seen this before! I think it may have only shown that briefly though, then reset to the normal time…that shot is from December though, so it’s been around for quite a while.
I’m fairly certain this is something anet won’t implement. With the current set up, people who feel the way you do have the option to, at a cost (which generates income for anet). People who like the smaller servers are free to stay where they are, and no one is forced to do anything. It seems to me that if the majority of people on the servers that you want to merge wanted to play on more populated servers, they would.
Because acquisition and holding requires different amount of players and happens at different times.
E.g.: color the map with 100 people, then all but 1 log out to score 10 times the objectives you control.
I was going to say the exact same thing. You might be able to make the point value of the objective depend on how many people get credit for taking it though. Even then, you’re punishing people for playing together, though, and that’s not a direction anet wants to go (I think).
Respect, honor, blah blah it’s more fun to just go crazy and mess with the people trying to get the achievement for the jp right away,,,,
It really depends on what you want to do. But in general, a point or two in build, repair, and supply mastery are handy. Applied Strength and Applied Fortitude from the guard killer and defense against guards lines are also really good, but they take a while to get to.
Pretty sure I read somewhere that you click on them to convert them, which sounds to me like you’ll still have the item but can’t use it normally, maybe?
Optional dueling? Never! I demand mandatory dueling! Also the ability to force people into duels even if they don’t want to!
…..is what a lot of people against dueling seem to imagine pro-dueling people want.
Part of the problem with this, I think, is that you can’t necessarily tell when something has been done through legitimate means or not. If I’m just walking along and see an open gate or wall or whatever, I probably won’t guess that it’s the result of someone hacking or exploiting.
Oh baby, I can have all the SAB skins available to me all the time now? oooooooh yeah, I’m gonna have some hard core farming to do once SAB comes around again.
No, those won’t stack.
Care to take a guess how many hours the winners will have spent playing sPvP honing their skill rather than farming PvE? It’s going to be a whole lot more than the time it takes to make a legendary or two playing PvE…
Honestly, I think it would be better if they made a full set of new legendaries, and only gave them out to the winners of tournaments like this. It would give them meaning, but the amount of QQ on the forums would be insane.
Overall PvE rewards are and have been much better than sPvP or WvW rewards. Is it so wrong for them to give out good rewards for a big tournament?
It would be nice if SAB came back, as well as getting something original that we haven’t seen yet. Pretty sure it won’t happen, but I can dream…
Last year Foxconn in China, the company that assembles the iPhone and iPad among other things, was going to raise the minimum monthly wage to 4,400 RMB or roughly $700 USD a month. That’s before charging room, board, uniforms, etc. since you live at the plant.
Didn’t they also put nets around their buildings, to stop all the suicidal workers trying to jump?
It’s gonna be really sad if we don’t get it in the feature update. As for the whole “no changes” thing, they reneged on that when they added the toxic stuff to the WvW maps mid-season. The pessimist in me is conflicted; do they lie about no changes, or do they delay it so long that the season is over by the time we finally get it?
I clicked on one of those “what league are we in” questions and got something like “I’m not familiar with your server”, and then there was only one of them. Which gave the same answer.
While account-bound World XP was originally intended to go live along with EotM, the highly anticipated change will not be making it into next week’s release. Carver said that ArenaNet is still working out some kinks with it and that the WvW team will have more information for players soon.]
Huh, did I miss that “more information”, or was it another lie?
(from the article linked above, which is dated Jan. 30th)
How Will it Work?
With all of this in mind, the system is receiving the following changes:
All earned World XP on an account will be put into a single pool.
The sum of those points will determine the world rank and World Ability Points available to each character on the account.
World Ability Points can be allocated differently on each character; you are not creating a single, account-based, version of your characters.
From the announcement about wxp:
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/world-xp-and-you/
There are much more important stuff to do then making account wxp.
Like making sure yaks walk in the middle of bridges, instead of on the rails! They did fix a few things, but they still have a loooooong way to go before everything is fixed. And this is something they told us about back in November, not to mention this is a feature that a lot of people are looking forward to. This being a “feature only patch” perhaps you can see why people are feeling let down and bitter about not getting it…
I checked all the boarderlands and don’t see a battle historian npc anywhere.
I found one right out in the middle of the spawn area in EB. He doesn’t seem to know how our server did last season, which is kinda weird, but I guess you can’t expect what little we get to work properly from the get-go.
Honestly, I like fighting the lower ranked servers better. Maybe because there’s just lower population density, but I tend to get a lot more good 1v1 fights against servers like ET and FC than pretty much anyone above them. I miss fighting you guys =(
Maybe they plan to give it to us when someone gets Ultimate Sentinel (500,000 successful SM defenses)?
