I’m surprised at how many people apparently die to gravity and PvE. I’d expect a few, but that seems like quite a lot.
You’re free to interrupt duels, but it’s always hilarious to see people that suck 1v1 or have zerg builds get destroyed by someone who was at 1/3 health because their teammate doesn’t want to make it a 2v1.
That said, I think most people that duel like that are aware of the risks and understand that people will sometimes go out of their way to try to ruin it. It’s just something you have to live with.
Here’s the location of the Smokescale in the Tangled Depths map:

!http://imgur.com/3qSLY4w.jpg!The spawn seems a little irregular, but give it a few mins and they’ll appear
Hi! Just received a PM from a dev. Apparently the smokescale will only spawn if the Nuoch area gets to tier 2-3.
Nice, electric wyvern and tiger left
I’ve honestly spent hours there. Still didn’t spawn smokescales. I’m not sure if its a bug or if I’m doing it wrong. For those that are still trying to get smokescale, just keep on doing the nearby events. Hope you guys have better luck!
I hung around there for a while, and they ended up spawning shortly after the map meta event finished. Regular enemy smokescales spawned there for a while before the juveniles started popping up, so give it some time.
There are a fair number of people who have Ultimate Dominator, some through legitimate play, some through farming in OS. Far as I know, those are the only ones anyone has. I doubt anyone will ever get the current yakslapper, legitimate or no.
If google is to be believed, this sort of thing will probably be built into stuff soon.
- They have, in fact, acknowledge some of the issues in WvW this week.
Got a link for this? If they have acknowledged it, it hasn’t been anywhere I’ve looked.
Oh, so your answer is that they should leave it as it is and not address it because it’d take away from HoT, got it. Guess we’ll just sit here for the rest of the week and deal with the problem they made for us then.
So you think it’s ok for them to leave it as it is, and not address it at all, because it’ll likely only last a week?
“Red is dead” is fine, just don’t cry if you jump in on a guy who’s at half health and you get staked in the new 1v1.
Is that going to include traits, as well?
It would be cool to kill a god. Unfortunately, Trahearne would take credit.
Don’t worry, Anet is on the case! “Tragically, Trahearne had to be killed before we were able to kill Mordremoth, freeing the surviving Sylvari.”
“He was totally corrupted! You all saw it, he was coming right at me, it was self defense!”
Lol.
It wouldnt be fair if it was 50% but it still wouldnt matter because there is no gear requirements. Crying for the sake of crying with no real arguement wont make your point heard.
Doesn’t matter? WvW says hello.
Just FYI, I’m not sure those dragon season notes are legit. The mods keep closing threads referencing them (granted, they aren’t saying why they’re closing them, but misinformation is my best guess).
Either way, I’m glad you guys are already digging into the numbers
http://www.guildmag.com/release-notes-preview-june-23-2015/
Guildmag got them too, seems like they’re real.
That would be Dhuum, not Grenth.
They said it was a preview of things to come when it was in the store the first time around, so yes, it’ll be back at some point.
So today is the 1000th day that the game has been available to play.
Meaning you’d have to have killed a thousand yaks a day, 24/7, every day since the game came out to have Yakslapper. Something like 1.4 yaks a minute for close to 3 years…
There are fun wxp abilities? Like what, a new siege skill or two? And ask any of the people that defend ascended gear, that small of a stat change almost never makes a difference in small scale…
It’s like they want me to stop playing this game.
Problem with adding things for ranks is that it rewards the eotm karma trainers more than regular WvW players.
They’d be telling us all about how great and awesome the new abilities were going to be if they were planning to add new ones. At the very least they’d mention that they’re working on new ones or something; I’ll be very surprised if they do add new ones with this change.
First, we wanted to reduce the costs of ability lines to make them feel more attainable, even to the majority of WvW players with a world ranking under 300
Glad to see they’re catering to the casual player base again, because ranks are too hard to get, apparently.
Defense should be rewarding now, since a defender will get a reward every 3 minutes
Three times nothing is still nothing.
This is when it would be really cool if ANET communicated with everyone to let them know what they are aware of, and they are working on a fix, lol.
I suppose they’ll let us know in a few weeks though when they get around to fixing it xD
I’m not sure people understand what “viable” means. I’ll admit some hybrid builds are viable, but no pure condi build is viable currently.
If by some miracle you could maintain 25 stacks of bleed, permanent burning, and poison and 3 stacks of torment then with 25 stacks of might you are doing a maximum of 6000 dps. That is HALF of what a power based build currently does. That is in no way “viable”. GW2 is easy enough that it is DOABLE, but it is NOT VIABLE.
Conditions need to first have the cap removed and then have their damage roughly doubled in PvE by some method to be “viable”.
vi·a·ble
?v??b(?)l/
adjective
capable of working successfully; feasible.
Condi builds are viable, but they’re far from optimal in PvE.

Or from personal story rewards if you’re in the priory.
I imagine people would demand mini southsun Kasmeer’s bikini if they added Faren’s speedo, and that’s just taking the game to a place I don’t think we want it to go to.
That’s part of the appeal of fantasy games, doing things that you can’t/wouldn’t do irl. It’s also rather unrealistic for me to fight dragons in real life, which is why we have the game…
As for being disqualified for infractions, just use an alt account, problem solved:-)
The application should contain the following:
. . .
Link to your forum profile
A list of all your Guild Wars 2 account display and user names
I suspect that they’ll look through all your accounts for infractions, and wouldn’t take too kindly to it if they caught you lying about it.
There’s no reason that Rev wouldn’t get staff just because the ranger specialization gets it.
It’d probably be easier to just run a full glass build and murder them, they seem to be running without armor according to a post above.
GW1 had guild capes, and it’s something they want to add at some point. There are apparently some physics difficulties, and it’s pretty low on the priority list though. Last I knew some of the devs were working on it in their spare time, but that was long, long ago and if there have been any status updates since then I’ve missed them.
Yeah, I see that with staff on my female human guardian. Too lazy to bother testing it with anything else, but it’s there.
As if progression in WvW wasn’t enough of a joke already.
Wiki says they’re currently unobtainable.
Yep, issues for me too. Both in game and getting into the forums.
WvW IS under the competitive second of the achievements panel. For some reason.
Oh man, I just saw this going back through the pages of old WvW stuff:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/wuv/After-his-stint-is-up
I’m laughing a bit too much at this, I think.
Is an interesting read. If there’s another person, they’d have the specialist designation by their name. If they’re not posting so we can’t see that, they’re not participating in the forums which is one of the things they’re supposed to do.
That said, I don’t think you can say our current one is “highly engaged” with the WvW community…
Eh, besides too much work the stance Anet took was that the pet is the core feature of the ranger, their gimmick is having a pet so they’re stuck with it.
It would be like two players messing around in a hockey game, if the matches went on 24/7 for a week, and one of the teams frequently had dozens or hundreds more players than the other team.
The nature of WvW means that it doesn’t matter if you’re walking around doing nothing, dueling, crafting, or what have you. The only time it makes a difference is if there’s a queue to get into the particular map you’re on, and even then it doesn’t make much difference.
As someone who’s done a fair bit of dueling, it’s to be expected that you’ll get interrupted sometimes if you’re not doing it in the usual places. That said, if you come interrupt my duel, ignore me when I say it’s a duel, then get stomped by the other guy because you couldn’t take him 1v1, you have only yourself to blame. If you stop attacking, most of the time they will too.
Yeah, apparently they don’t care about the title farming at all…

Some of the links in here might be a little iffy since the forum rearrangement, but here you go:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/creations/Ultra-New-Sheet-Music-Thread-3
And here we have yet another example of “if it can be exploited, it will be.”
Not really. Consider i had no intentions of using it as an exploit, also consider i finally posted it in the bugs forums I was only trying it if it worked. If i never tried someone else would have and the same situation would of happened. I wouldn’t call this an exploit since their is no gain “make full use of and derive benefit from”. Its a bug that creates 0 advantage over other players and can’t be exploited for gain other than kitten.
Except that you knew it was wrong….and did it anyway….
Except it’s not wrong. Go ahead and read through the terms of service and see where it says you can’t equip armor skins that provide no in game benefit. Literally none whatsoever. What, is somebody going to get confused in PvP because they think they’re fighting a Revenant? Give me a break.
Seems more like people are just salty because they didn’t get into the beta.
Actually I have no issues with the fact that I didn’t get into the stress test. Wasn’t even a beta.
Using a bug, knowing its a bug, is an exploit. It doesn’t matter that it doesn’t give a tangible benefit in this instance. However, I was address the mentality in general here, not just this specific instance. It is simply another example of “if I can, I’m going to. I don’t care who it hurts” In this instance, it hurts no one, because it is simply cosmetic; however, that’s not true in all cases.
So according to you, sit jumping back in the day was an exploit? When I get bored and spin around as a tree using a tonic, I’m exploiting? Exploit implies some sort of unintended benefit, not “a bug was involved”.
You think they’ve never made a single bad balance decision? What?
Set yourself to invisible, then back online. Temp fix.
Suggestion Anet: Make some really nice looking WvW map completion exclusive armor/weapon skin vendors!
With the current legendaries being pushed a little further away from WvW and into the exclusively PvE territory, I agree that there should be some more high-tier rewards that are exclusive to WvW. I’m not sure how you would gate this (Not just through Badges of Honor, that’s for sure) but it doesn’t seem like there’s a gear/equipment way to show off supreme WvW skill and dedication.
Could use the mastery ranks to gate it, would be nice to get something other than a green trident , blue shoulders and 10s every time I open a rank up chest. 632 ranks now, all I ever see are green tridents, blue shoulders and 10s, and occasionally 10 BoH.
Problem with that is that EotM gives waaaay more ranks than normal WvW much of the time, and is basically PvE.
