I’m somewhat confused by the complaining about the fact that that there’s no longer anything “forcing” players to do WvW if they want legendaries. I mean, granted, I’ve never actually crafted a legendary so maybe I’m wrong, but doesn’t this still exist?

Like I said earlier, you no longer have to do any WvW at all.

It’s possible to get the gift of battle without doing any WvW now. You literally don’t have to leave your spawn zone with this change.

I’m curious to see what’ll happen, it sounds like completing WvW maps might not give you a chest any more, in which case they’ve nerfed WvW rewards.

It doesn’t have to be a light armor profession, you can buy it with any profession. It just gives you a warning about not being able to use it that you have to click through.

I imagine everything seen in the demo is still subject to change, they probably have a lot of balancing to do. And since it seems like wyverns are going to be a recurring fight, it could just be that as the first one you encounter, it’s the easiest of them all.

Don’t chase a reward that requires pvp if you don’t want to step foot in pvp?

Try getting 3 badges for taking a keep in real WvW after actually fighting for it, the rewards in eotm are huge in comparison.

It might make the personal story a bit weird too. A really young or really old character being best friends with Lord Faren would just be creepy.

Eh, at one point they had nightbot set to time people out for it, and the phrase gvg got people banned. Lots of people spammed the chat with it and it was their solution to just time people out or ban them for even mentioning them.

Obsidian Sanctum has 3 wells that grant players a 5 minute stealth. You can do the entire puzzle in stealth and not have to fight other players or deal with “griefing.”

Except that the stealth breaks if you take damage from an enemy, and trap skills and such can be used to achieve that easily.

Re: the rest of the thread, I think there are a great many things that I’d rather see fixed before this.

This. If you can dodge in place, it just becomes a get out of taking damage button.

At this point I think they just added season and eotm achievements and called it good at that.

You guys should visit lower tiers more frequently, we have great havoc squads and the most skilled roamers of the entire game. Blobbing isn’t even half as fun as the things we pull off.

I don’t mean exploit in the sense of duping items or something like that, I’m talking about abusing terrain or unintended functionality of certain things in WvW to get an advantage.

The fact that it’s been unclear on how to report people with /report suggests to me that there may be need for it. It’s odd that there isn’t an option for hacks/non-hack related exploits.

Patched and up to date my install takes up 19.4 gigs. Hard to say what the download’ll be since there are pretty frequent patches, and the end file size isn’t always the same for everyone.

My guess is that the audio forum gets archived and the threads just sit there. I imagine moving the stickied threads would clutter up wherever we’re supposed to post about audio, so I guess there won’t be a good place on these forums to post sheet music.

If you’re in a sinking boat, do you bail out water while you work on plugging the hole? They’re not mutually exclusive, and banning people who cheat/hack ameliorates the situation in the short term.

I can’t speak to tools. I can tell you that using the ‘botter’ option is indeed sufficient.

As for the exploits are ANet address, this isn’t a Customer Support address. Exploits is more of a ‘I found a way to cheat here’s how to do it’ thing and Quality Assurance reviews those.

GMs don’t belong to a server so wondering if you’re server has a GM is futile. We’re everywhere >=).

To further clarify – exploits@arena.net is not used for reviewing reports of cheaters. This is for notifying us of found exploits so that QA can work on reporting fixes.

How much time do the GMs spend in WvW, then? Because there have been times where people have blatantly cheated for long periods of time.

Widespread knowledge and use seem to be the only things that’ll make them actually fix stuff like this, though…

Pick one that you like personally, and don’t bother what other people think of it, I’d say.

For example, I really love the synergy between the Chosen title and the name Balthamel I have on one of my characters, but most people won’t get the connection and Chosen isn’t really impressive on its own.

I always try to intercept any duels I see, altough I am never lookig for them.

I do that because:

1. If I found you dueling, you are probably dueling on the main road, and not somewhere where you should (eg.: behind the windmill, OS, Skritt, Centaur).

2. I like the rage text after. I am curious what sorted profanity you have to throw at me.

3. If you are allowed to ‘play how you want’, so am I.

The difference, of course, being that you just stated that you do it for the reaction, and you’re intentionally trying to ruin someone’s experience.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens. I imagine uplevels will catch even more abuse once this kicks in, and that the game’s going to become blobbier in general.

Well, if nothing else they take up a spot in the blacklion chest drop tables now. They’re worse than useless.
