The sylvari outfit should vary based on what cycle of the day they were born in (Dawn, Noon, Dusk, Night), and as Danikat said, the norn outfits should depend on what Spirit of the Wild they revere the most.

I posted on the “gifting strangers” thread (making a request of course, because I’m eternally poor) yesterday. Today I reloaded the page to see if there was anything new, and it said there’s no such thread. I can’t see what it could have done wrong. Has it been moved, or removed?

I’m on NA servers… and jeez, do I need a lot of stuff to craft Wings of Dwayna!

- I think I’ll need 25g each for Armorsmith and Weaponsmith 400 (and I even have a chunk of the stuff I need for Armorsmith already, lol).
- I’d also absolutely love it if someone would mail me some: Cured Hardened Leather Squares (need 250), Charged Lodestones or Cores (would need either 100 Lodestones or 200 Cores + 100 Crystalline Dust), and Mystic Coins (need 75). I can probably handle the Orichalcum Ingots, Sigils of Purity, ridiculous amounts of AC (dungeon), and Elonian Wine (if necessary) myself.

I’d love to use a high-sustain weapon combo to go with my axes in Stronghold and on the more standard Conquest maps (Foefire, Kyhlo, Silent Storm, and Niflhel), but it’s nice to have some range when I need it. Suggestions? Should I try rifle, even though I hate the feel of it?

Link that Axe/Axe? There’s a REALLY good chance it’s mine from the timing of this post, it’s just something I’ve tried and had some success with. (Also King of Fires is there by accident, it’s supposed to be Eternal Champion).

Frankly, I posted it because there’s no support for Warriors on the site, and it says right in the page history that it’s there to be torn apart. There’s a Hammer/GS build that “works” but there’s other options and it leads a lot of new players (since seriously, if we’re talking about the level of play where Warriors aren’t viable you shouldn’t need MB anyway) to assume that Berserker is outright garbage instead of an alternate playstyle. As trash as it is, the idea was to at least post something and get people looking at things to see what does and doesn’t work, and feedback is exactly what happened in the comments.

I’m a druid hater tbh. And not just because the class is insanely OP everywhere. It’s because I want to see a beastmaster. Jeez, Anet, why won’t you give us a spec that can actually kill stuff besides players? xD

My sassy asura revenant has the “teenager” hairstyle. Y’know, the one that very nearly looks emo but ends up looking really awesome. It’s a great option for anyone who wants a nerd who is not to be messed with. :P
I totally agree with you about that human hairstyle! However, norn are meant to have their own unique cultural hairstyles which look a bit more Nordic. There are still some that look like they’d fit on a human too; my very classy norn Mesmer has the makeover kit hairstyle that’s a side bun.

I’m pretty observant… when I can actually turn character models on, that is. (My computer is affectionately called “the little toaster that could.”) I’m totally into Fashion Wars 2 myself xD
The stuff that impresses me is the stuff that’s good enough to be on gw2style and get silver or better. Unified color scheme, nothing overly flashy, no wings preferred unless they fit in with the theme. Also, hilarious pet names. xD
Turn-offs? Use of Zodiac top or helmet, any Radiant or Hellfire armor (unless it’s used tastefully, which is rare), wings just for the sake of having wings, all the obese male norn people create as jokes, and scantily clad human female meta. There are more, but these are the big ones.

To be honest, I’m expecting the next expansion to add the Crystal Desert and the fight against Kralkatorrik, which doesn’t even need an entire army to succeed. After all, DE 1.0 and Glint almost made it, and they would have killed Kralk were it not for Logan’s absence. DE 2.0 is twice as big, and they might have a dragon on their side too.

Anet moved away from underwater combat. Unless they change their minds and rework it, largos (and quaggan) have no chance, because both mainly live underwater. Also, largos are out because Anet’s not giving us another humanoid, and quaggan are out because we don’t need another character model.
Centaurs, krait, etc… Anet stated explicitly that these are meant to be “morally black” races, so they’re the polar opposite of the player character. Oh and also they’d need new armor models. Not gonna happen, even if they have room for starting areas.
Grawl, ogres, jotun and skritt: a) are too dumb to be playable, and b) have no room for a starting area. Won’t happen.
Nuhoch are GIANT. And also they’d need new armor models. And also they don’t have room for a starting zone because they’re native to the HoT maps. Won’t happen.
The dwarves may have room for their own starting and leveling areas, but they’re recluses and their numbers are dwindling because, uh, they’re made of stone. Won’t happen.

Kodan have room for a starter area if there is a Jormag-related expansion in the future. However, they only come in white (with the exception of the Voice of Koda, but we can’t have an entire race of those). And kodan voices and animations are awkwardly hilarious, so they would need to be redone. Close, but probably not gonna happen.
Tengu are the most realistic addition, since they were scrapped (pretty late?) in development and so have stuff like armor models and a city made for them already.
But of course, since there’d be storyline issues for any new race, the best option for all of us is better armor scaling and less clipping for the existing races.

My internet actually went down for several hours in between the last spate of DCs and today, so the router technically rebooted :P
But yeah, the most recent issue probably developed afterward. I’ll try to restart when my brother isn’t on the Internet, which isn’t often. xD

As of several days ago, I’ve been having frequent bursts of random DCs. Today, I’m repeatedly “lagging out.” I don’t think this is just my Internet, as my average ping is 136 and other people with me on NA servers have reported being repeatedly DC’d as well. Anet, have your servers been having issues? Or is my home internet as awful as I think it is?

I run a very high-damage but relatively survivable power Berserker build that works best in combination with a tank. When we win, I usually get top damage. Regardless, I almost always get top self-heal. (Yes, this is unranked, because the dang season ended.)

Healing Signet + Balanced Stance/Endure Pain/Berserker Stance + Signet of Rage

Defense 211
Berserker 113

Marauder amulet

Open to suggestions, but so far, this is working for me. Considering swapping out the elite signet for Headbutt, and replacing one utility with Shake It Off.

Having a high-res screen was nice, but I couldn’t go higher than low settings without a serious drop in FPS. It was already only 20-30.

Then I tried running the game on my little potato.
Stable 30 fps on low settings. Bumped it up to medium shaders. Slight drop, and a little less stable, but looking great. Up to high shaders, and everything is gorgeous. THE GAME STILL RUNS. SMOOTHLY. AT 10-15 FPS.
I can’t use those settings in large-scale fights/PvP for obvious reasons, but now I know that I can take pretty screenshots on a craptop!

If you reckon 15 fps is smooth, you may want to stop stabbing yourself in the eyes, or whatever it is you are doing to cause such hideous damage to your sight.

Yep. It’s DUAL AXE. I’m still learning how to use it against bristlebacks/smokescales/saurians (partially because my strategy against them with any of my characters is to RUN AWAAAAYYYYY), but I do know that Whirling Axe works amazingly well against Pocket Raptors. Not very tanky, but surprisingly survivable. One thing the build lacks, though, is swiftness… I’m not entirely sure how to work that in, but it needs it.

There is nothing at all saying you can’t have two main guardians around.

If Braham starts using a longbow and becomes a DH since he’s so hulk-smash, then MAYBE both live.

Thing is, there’s proof for “there can only be one.” Marjory shows up, Trahearne dies. Rox shows up, Eir dies. Nobody in DE 1.0/2.0 has died and not had a backup of the same profession!

A post was made on the GW2 subreddit today. It contained another user’s quite credible theory about who’ll die (or retire?) next.

They theorized that DE + DE 2.0 + Canach (does he count as part of 2.0?) will probably be composed of one of every profession in the end. And there’s proof.

Zojja is DE’s only Elementalist, so it’s very, very likely that she lives.
Kasmeer and Marjory are the team Mesmer and Necro respectively; Marjory has replaced Trahearne, who just died.
Eir was the team Ranger, then Rox showed up – and Eir died not long thereafter.
Caithe’s the Thief.
Taimi is certainly Snaff’s successor, and Snaff is listed as an Engi on the wiki, so I guess golemancers like the two of them count as Engineers. I wonder if Golemancer is an upcoming Engi spec…
Rytlock is our Revenant.
Canach is DE’s Warrior. (He wields a sword and shield and wears heavy armor, so despite his use of grenades/mines, he is definitely not an Engi.)
But here’s the important part: we have two Guardians, Logan and Braham. Which means that either Logan will die from his injuries/exposure to Mordremoth’s corruption, or Braham will retire because he’s grieving for Eir, or Braham will get in a probably dragon-related freak accident and die.

Thoughts? Correct me on anything I got wrong. :P

One of my two favorite characters is a Charrzerker (formerly Charrior), so I’ll have a go at it.

Firstly, Warrior is down to earth: it uses no magical weapons, and almost no magic period (exceptions: banners and signets). So it’s great for a realist… or someone whose parents are devoutly religious and think magic is satanic. :P
Secondly, because of this, it’s simple. Its class mechanic is literally just an adrenaline surge. Its specialization, Berserker, takes that to the next level – but still keeps it real. And wins more PvP matches.
Thirdly, Warrior is tied with Guardian for the position of “can wield the most weapons of any profession.” Warriors can use every weapon but a staff, scepter, focus, shortbow, pistol, dagger, torch (if not Berserker), or trident. Staff/scepter/focus/trident because they’re magical and Warriors have no use for them, and shortbows/pistols/daggers because the profession is meant to be a tank, not a rogue. Guardian, by contrast, has a more magical and (at least IMO) much more difficult to use weapon set.

What InsidiousWaffle said. Also, there are so many different kinds of trenchcoat that at least one of them is going to look FABULOUS on your character. My Ranger (human female) wears the Rascal coat (which has a corset and a scarf included), and I have to say, that gives a nice explorer-ish air.

And I’ll add my ditto! My Foefire-themed Warrior needs this!

That is still the meta Warrior PvE build. It may be your traits.

With the changes this last patch has been what I’ve been running. Decent for side point 1v1’ing and rotating/etc. Good support as well (I put out around 1500-2000 boons a match) & the new pet revive on a 36 second CD has made for many clutch rezzes in matches (you can essentially port players to you and rez them off the side safely/etc). You can also easily maintain 25 might with this – smokescale does amazing single target DPS and bristle back’s F2 is really strong.

• oops and I should say this is obviously primarily pvp ** – but you can tweak the traits fairly easily to have an easy open world PvE build as well with good survivability/dps (just sub out mara for zerker) and you can also sub out pet rez for frost spirit (more dps), etc.
