It’s an interesting concept, or at least it is to me because I’d been thinking for a while I’d like to see an RPG without any kind of level system and this is about 1/2 way there.

They originally didn’t want leveling in GW2, but ended up abandoning the idea because it didn’t feel right.

Considering how easily some people get lost already it would be even worse if they got rid of leveling.

I’ve done this 12 times recently. I received the letter on every character. Restarting the episode will also send a letter unless you still have the letter in your inbox.

Well … here is the thing. There has been many complaints about how autotargetting works but I’ve never actually seen anyone even try to assert how exactly it should work or supposed to work. Short of mind reading it seems like an impossible task.

I can think of some examples but I can also come up with counter examples of why it would be bad. That leads to “well just make it configurable” but that can be bad in its own way by being too complicated.

Did another experiment today and found something interesting.

I found a way to make it work 100% of the time.

I also found a way to fail 100% of the time.

In the picture I am standing at maximum range for Sundering Leap. Pressing the key for it will autotarget and snap to the golem but if I move my camera even slightly slower(it can’t go below the diamond on the golem’s face) it will start to fail.

This is probably just the same old issue of autotarget being weird and unreliable where it will target a neutral mob miles away from you instead of the creature that is in your face trying to kill you.

Failing octovine reduces the amount of chests you have access to but it doesn’t make the chest that you do get access to appear as already opened.

I did the meta twice today, first time it was successful, the second it failed. I could loot all the chests the first time, the second time I started looting and the “medium” chests were already opened.

Crazy idea guys: there may be bugs here. It may have been the same map instance, maybe it didn’t reset properly, maybe something to do with the failed attempt, whatever.

I ran into that on my one and only multiloot run the day before the patch. Didn’t really make much difference since I only had enough time for two more anyway.

If you are forging multiples it is much faster to just hit F again rather than waiting for the useless animation and clicking accept.

You are all wrong. The OP is like “I lost all my characters when I got hacked and they didn’t restore them for me, so now I get no presents. So I want them to change the present to account so I can get a present. and all of you other players with multiple characters, well, too bad, will get only one present per account”.

That bit didn’t really make much sense … unless OP quit the game afterwards it just means it is just 3 months later. Compared to the people that started the game 2 or 3 years after release that is relatively short.

It also seems like OP waited 4+ years to attempt character restoration?! O_o

For the story mode unlock … maybe there is a slightly roundabout way that could be easier? What if you check the list of available/unlocked WvW/PvP reward tracks? Those are account bound.

As someone who made Nevermore, Bifrost and Shooshadoo they all suck equally in terms of tree chopping.

Shooshadoo felt a bit worse but that was because I couldn’t make use of the t7s I’ve been stockpiling over the years.

I imagine Bifrost(although the corals were bad enough -_-) and Nevermore would have felt a lot worse if I was bound by the timegating.

The problem with these new legendary and the t2 precursor collections for the rest is that their heavy focus on the t5 materials makes them feel very monotonous. Spreading them out would make it less boring for the people who want to gather everything themselves but that would make it more expensive for the people who want to buy everything. On the other hand you can always gather some other stuff and sell those to buy the elder wood instead. Platinum, Iron, Hard Wood and Seasoned wood are all viable for that, possibly others as well but I only checked those.

Well what are your reasons for going for the particular upgrades? Most of the ones available are useless to most people. My guild got those upgrades simply because they are there and not because they are providing anything useful.

The supply of mithril is so huge currently that it will take a long time for any sink to have much impact on its price.

Be careful what you wish for: ANet could do to mithril what they did to Thick Leather, i.e. require 4 ore to create an ingot. It would take a month or three, but eventually, we’d see mithril costing several silver instead of 50-60 coppers.

There is also the fact that none of these weapons are all that popular. If Nevermore got swapped with one of the 3 then we would probably be seeing a much bigger impact.

I just put the materials required for the current upgrade on the MotD and it takes care of itself. We have around 3-6 people active and we are at lv66.

On the other hand I didn’t feel like contributing much to my other guild unless they asked me directly because they were working on the arena and I could tell from the rate that the PvP potions were being filled that this was going to be a waste of time and resources.

Autocleansing two wouldn’t necessarily make it too powerful but the trigger condition would also have to be updated to two. I use Burning Fire on one of my eles and that higher trigger threshold is sometimes very awkward.

You only need to salvage on 1 ascended weapon or armor and you only need 1 Prototype Fractal Capacitor. You will be upgrading the same Fractal Capacitor all the way to the end.

After you craft the tier 1 (Finite Result) it will need to be salvaged to get the Spirit of Finite Result to craft the tier 2 (Upper Bound). That will give you 5 more Ball of Dark Energy. You will need to repeat that again. When you salvage Upper Bound for the Spirit of Upper Bound you will get 9 more Ball of Dark Energy.

Edit: Oops forgot about the Pristine Mist Essences. I guess you will need two. For some reason I don’t remember having to salvage two though.

An even bigger drawback is a bright white flash every time you deploy the glider. This is annoying when doing something like the Patriarch fight where you might need to drop altitude frequently to get to the eggs.

Glidling is handled client side … but ley line gliding isn’t. :/

They both work to apply the +160 and +200 condition damage. What they are missing is just the icon showing that the increase is in effect.

While testing it with auto and snap. It seems like it only works around 10% of the time even when things are in range.

The cast at feet issue is just the same old problem where it does that if your cursor is over any part of the UI. That is obviously unavoidable if you are clicking the skill(unavoidable is referring to the cursor being over the UI not the other stuff).

Karka is okay except for the retal(on certain builds) and that evade with an unclear animation. It already has two HP bars as well …

Anyway … the game just has too many stupid scaling. The greatest example is probably breachers at the start of the pale reaver chain. Without scaling I can solo those in decent amount of time even while wearing clerics gear. With any amount of scaling even with using a condi ranger starts to drag on. The fact that they are immune to crits doesn’t help.

There are two sloth pre-events and the first often lasts a long time (the second one can never go very quickly, since the NPC moves only slightly faster than the Mendenhall Glacier). Plenty of time to reach the sloth spawning area, unless no one calls it out.

The destroyer pre-event sometimes lasts a while and often doesn’t; the destroyer itself doesn’t last long enough to run through the tunnels, unless you are already near the entrance. I don’t think it needs to be “rescaled” (which is often a synonym for “made more boring”). I would, however, be happy if there was a longer delay between the end of the pre and the start — even 30 seconds would allow for people who were on their way to reach the event in time to get credit.

Regardless, the respawn on the major events in the zone is really quick; it never takes that long to get event-based dailies, so I’m okay if ANet never adjusts this.

If you use the thermal tube at the tip of the Infernal Cape it will drop you right next to the destroyer.

Core doesn’t equal not bound. Celestial, Nomad’s and Sinister are all core but they are account bound as well.

Both the sloth and destroyer are within 1 WP+thermal tube away so unless you have some horrible load time it should be possible to get to them as well. Especially with the destroyer due to the phases.

As i said above, with Molten it is possible if you pay close attention. But i had it today that sloth wasnt called (or atleast i wasn’t on the map when the pre was called) and i tried to get to it with good loading times, but i was too late. So it might be possible, but I still believe that a better scaling makes a big QoL improvement and you dont have to throw down everything you are doing right now to get there to be able to get the event.

Actually I had no problem getting to molten yesterday just from seeing the boss icon on the minimap. Nobody mentioned it on map chat. Also that is with a regular hard drive and not an SSD.

You don’t have to throw down everything anyway since it’ll be back in 10m and if you are busying with other stuff the actual wait time is even less.

you’re not aiming for the tangled labyrinth, that’s a totally different place. you need to go around Amber to the side with the vista on and there’s a door in the side of the cliff which leads to where you need to go (where my character marker is in the map screenie)

The events only have around a 10m cooldown so that isn’t very far out of line. The fact that the jade construct is a waste of time seems like a bigger problem …

Degen is 2%/4% but a kill gives 12%. If kills were giving lifeforce it would be pretty obvious.

It is based on your base stats (meaning armor + weapons), but it do not include food, might, banner buff, GotL, pinpoint distribution, rune of thorns buff, lingering curse, targeting the weak or any other extra condition dmg increase that I might have forgotten to mention. This mean the the 6% increase is not 6% at all, and for org. group plays, bursting will therefore be worse then earth or geo. If you do solo play only and want to optimise for that, then I really dont know if earth or bursting will be the best, but I guess earth will still pull ahead. Bursting is just that bad.

I did not mention malice that it as far as I know not is worth it. Since you already with easy hit the 100% duration cap. So unless you dont have the gear/weapons, no reason to use malice.

Grace of the Land doesn’t affect the Condition Damage attribute. Applying it in the special forces training area doesn’t change what is displayed in the hero panel.

It increases the damage done by conditions similar to Hidden Barbs and Poison Master . It is also multiplicative with those.

With 1243 condition damage a single stack of bleed does …
1243*.06 + 22 =96.58(97)
+ hidden barbs(33%) = 128.4514(128)
+ GotLx5(10%) = 141.29654(141)

ohh the difference between the 2 are btw

with normal buffs/food: about 3177 condi dmg

So checking in the special forces area. The difference between no buff and all the buff is 320 after adding in the missing 150 from Pinpoint Distribution and without consumables. I am checking with exotic weapon and armor but even with the increase from that it would require consumables to add over 1000 to reach the numbers you quoted.
