Must be nice to have 84 gold…
Not too difficult once you’ve run out of things to spend it on.
Very inspiring indeed. Ty for the translation.
What does he mean by “port” because only asura can make it and hes human so he cant “make” one.
The usual English meaning. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/port?s=t
Oookay, got it now. Maybe they are sending them one by one? Very odd!
Not very odd considering pass events. I think the stuff for the karka event took several days to get fully delivered to everyone.
The reason I asked about the popup is because if you did that was the popup asking ‘Are you sure you want to destroy 8 Charged Lodestones?’
It is. Check the second achievement (I think it was Hard-Boiled or something) under the Living Story tab. Most probably it’s going to be an instanced POI, similar to the personal story POIs, or it might be hotfixed for people who need map completion to complete Reach before the events are triggered.
More importantly, for people after the event is gone.
Don’t make any more bets until there is an update if you are after the achievement.
Can you explain it a bit better? Have any screenshots or anything?
I asked a guildie to test this but didn’t seem to affect the moa’s at all.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/People-abusing-the-Moas
It would be hilarious if ANet actually kept track of where people used which skill …
“I didn’t know cheating in a race is against the rules!” is not going to work as well as “I didn’t know using this recipe to generate ectos is against the rules!”
And so it begins…..
Seems like you missed a few threads, it “began” a while ago … ~ hour?
Heh. I just noticed the Dragon Bash subforums exists. Checked it out. Very amused.
Honestly with the rate at which you can get normal dragon coffers, I seriously wonder why anyone would bother with Rich ones.
I think the better question is why do it on the first day or even a couple of hours after the patch. You might just end up with the ticket from a regular coffer and then what are you going to do with the extras?
Living Story stuff is not based on level. It is content that changes from month to month.
Each Personal Story step has level recommendations but you can do them at whatever level you want. Of course trying to do them when you are too many levels below is going to be difficult to impossible(without help).
If you are trying to buy the first training manual check on the trading post. Right now you can get one for around 6s30c instead of 10s from the trainer.
Heh I guess I am fairly casual despite the 9 lv80s(some in exotics, some in a mix of exotics + masterwork, others in rares + masterwork and of course one with some ascended because cat tonic was more important than gear). I wouldn’t mind being able to get ascended for all but hasn’t been any great need for them.
… unless it involves more laurels again.
ONE might be good for replacing the sixth spot incase you are using a rune set where the sixth piece effect isn’t all that appealing(rune of the ranger would be the move obvious example).
Hi, I´m with Braham at Cragstead and he should enlist my aid to retake it but he only welcome me. What can I do to continue the story? I´m elementalist level 49. Could it be a game bug?
Thanks for your help
The only main plot I can think of is the Personal Story. The stuff with Braham has nothing to do with that. The Flame & Frost stuff that Braham is part of is no longer available.
You should try mobs at lvl70-71 too, my friend in the southsun event with its upscale took his lvl70 character to play there and he already got t6materials. And even tho the mobs were lvl80 u can only get drops to your lvl (like a lvl10 player will get t1-t2 materials), I assume that if you can get t6 at lvl70-71 these lvl mobs should drop them already.
Tier of Mats is decided by the lvl of the mob. Armors and that stuff will come at ur own lvl.
That is how it is normally but that is not the case when you are upscaled to 80 by events or WvW.
I seem to be averaging about 2-3g when doing all paths of a dungeon(kill anything that drops loot) so I guess that is around 1g per path. For a while I was actually wondering where these big chunks of gold were coming from(I usually keep only around 1g on any character so if a character has 2g4s I would move 1g into the bank). :P
This is with lv80s. Keep in mind that dungeon rewards will scale with level. Random loot you get will also scale with level. For example a lv80 masterwork gs will vendor for around 74% more than a lv40 masterwork gs.

In most cases this happens due to accidentally pressing the enter-key which will send the focus (and blinking cursor) to the chat window. All following keys pressed are going to the chat window then. By either pressing enter again (and sending whatever you typed to the selected chat channel) or by left-clicking somewhere the game window you can bring back the focus to the game.
That is a completely different issue.
Aside from logging out you should also be able to get out of it using some sort of movement skill(2 on warrior/ranger sword, 2 on mesmer staff, 3 on warrior/guardian/ranger gs, …).
One of the skills Shaman Arderus uses in his second ‘phase’ seems to trigger more often than other skills. It’s an AoE pull.
Do you recall seeing a popup dialog appearing when you tried to mail the item?
I’m thinking centaurs or an earth ele. They’re not going to give us a full dragon for free.
A dragon turning up != fighting a Dragon.
We actually KNOW that a Dragon is waking up (based on Arah Explorable) so it is fully possible that they will actually show us the actual awakening and/or set the stage for it.Primordus coming out of earth, spreading lava and destroyers troughout the whole Kryta.
Map-wide dinamic events for repel the invasion, invaded map change each week.
kitten , i want a Destroyer horde assaulting Divinity’s Reach, to defend a-la LotR epic battle style.
New DG: delving in the deeps of the fissures destroyers came from to face Primordus.Anet, make this happen.
Meh those zones are too low level. I need Destroyer Lodestones so they would need to be lv76+ destoryers! :P
Gendarran would mean attacking the Vigil or Lion’s Arch. Attacking Lion’s Arch makes more sense than Divinity’s Reach since that means an attack on all races at the same time rather than making it a human problem.
call it coincidence or RNG but when i use MF gear, i get a significant number more exotics/rares from chests than when i do it without. anyone else agree? im convinced im right, i already know the statement is that it doesnt, but my play expericnce has showed otherwise.
its kind of like in IRL when people find that 1 tiny loophole to a 100 page law (or code program like RNG). it may not be on the books as official that it works, but the people who are aware of it, use it and benefit
Out of all the instigator and queen karka chests, I got 1 exotic.. regular drops, 20+
By regular drops do you mean “regular” or the settler trinkets? If it’s the settler trinkets or the mini reef rider that doesn’t really count.
warrior/engineer/thief/elementalist
There isn’t enough hours in a day to be playing all 9 of them.
no armor skin ones ?
i thought there were gauntlet and helmet
There is going to be a helmet but it is probably not in the same style and it won’t be obtained the same way.
Dagger and sword seems to have gotten the short end of the stick.
As Electro said, the reason is because there are far more things requiring Orichalcum than there are requiring Ancient Wood. The former is used for Weaponsmithing, Armorsmithing, Huntsman and Jeweler. The latter is used for Weaponsmithing, Huntsman and Artificer, and of the three, only Artificer uses it in any great amount.
Heh … maybe they can add some recipes with extra “fiber”. Bowl of soup + ancient plank … mmm does that sound delicious?
I actually have a stack of ancient planks sitting around in storage that I don’t really know what to do with. They don’t seem to be worth selling.
No matter what you aim for, you never use the 10 times recipe.
I’m facepalming a bit, to be honest.
I am aiming for fewer clicks.
For rares the question is still to be determined. For most people it seems ecto salvage rate doesn’t vary by much between the kits. They are worth it for exotics with expensive sigil/runes.
For the most obvious example.
At current exchange rate 1 BL kit is around 10g. A Superior Rune of Divinity can get you around 8g after taxes and fees. So in that case just one use of it can nearly pay for the kit and you still have 24 uses remaining. In other cases there are sigils/runes which are actually worth equal or greater than the item they come from. In those cases you get the upgrade and potentially a couple of ectos.
I still use Master’s Kit for salvaging rares since I want the upgrades for gambling in the mystic forge.
I don’t like how they handle it. =(
But thanks anyway…Does anyone know a EU world where the karka queen event is working?
You can basically use gw2stuff.com to see when was the last time the queen was killed on a particular server. If it shows that the last time it was killed was 1-1.5hr ago then it is probably still working, probably.
The queen is permanent as are the chests. The achievement is said to have no time limit by a dev. The MF boost will probably be gone but MF doesn’t work on chests anyway and for queen’s corpse doesn’t even have a guaranteed blue+ like a champion so that doesn’t seem to matter much either.
It is also possible to kill them then commune even with the statue contested. It depends on how your character is built.
I am sad that so much cloth gear is filled with condition damage when my Mesmer has no damaging conditions that I can see.
Are you using the wrong weapon sets? For conditions you want want scepter/torch + staff.
Mmm much simpler solution. Remove all consumables from WvW.
there*
I would have to disagree. If we had a dragon event (which is no different than a meta event and we already have 6 in orr zones) it would only attract players there for the time it was up.
If you really want people to play in Cursed Shore…Anet needs to rollback all these farming nerfs and bring back shelt/pen + plinx.
That would put more people in specific spots in Cursed Shore. It would not make cursed shore feel any more populated. You still won’t see anyone in the majority of the map.
Two of the diving spots are inside of a jumping puzzle in Mount Maelstrom.
There is also a jumping puzzle where if you fall and die baby quaggans run over to res you.
Some vistas are a combination of jumping puzzle/vista. The wiki has a list of the locations and solutions if you want to look them up.
Its no fun when kitten chill is turned into 0s.
:O I missed something here. How can a condition be reduced to 0 seconds? I’m only seeing -65% overall which is good but that isn’t 0.
Dogged march gets it to 98% reduction, if that trait stacks additively. It’s relevant because apparently everyone is a warrior and every warrior takes that trait, as compared to that one Warrior who is sick to death of being kited and burned a rune set, consumable buff and 10 trait points so it would stop happening.
Also an elementalist trait that does the same, Geomancer’s Freedom. The ele trait lacks the secondary effect of 3s of regeneration(10s cd).
As for the subject of condition duration both for increase and decrease it seems like they durations for damaging conditions and control conditions should be separate.
To get a useful answer someone would need to have thousands, possibly hundreds of thousands of rares/exotics to test and possibly multiple mobile mystic forges.
Silver Doubloons just went up to 94s.
I’m leaving the game soonish. This is unacceptable.
Already signed up for TESO closed beta.Silver Doubloons dropped 10s a piece since yesterday. Better cancel that closed beta sign up!
Someone needs to flip them quickly back to 1g just for the heck of it.
No flipping necessary, just takes one person buying a stack for the vial would push it to 1g. The volume on spidy seems a bit weird. 613.5? Who is selling half a silver doubloon? I am looking at the raw so there shouldn’t be fractional amounts …
If grinding dungeons is not your thing … go harvest herbs in Ascalon. :P
Considering the price of things like Chili Pepper and Dill Sprig you can actually make a decent amount but those are not guaranteed to come out of the herb nodes.
You should probably check the guardian section for builds or at least ideas on what traits/skills work for particular situations.
Dailies are generic throughout. You should be able to hover over Ascalon Veteran Slayer and see in which zones you should kill the veterans in. Normally Tyria is divided into a few regions. These regions appear in the veteran slayer achievements:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ascalon
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Kryta
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Maguuma_Jungle
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Shiverpeak_Mountains
All of these areas have at least one starter area in them, so no matter how low level you are, you should be able to do the daily
Those regions are also relevant for harvesting herbs. Same node name but different region can mean different results.
Oh and someone else suggested this but you can buy http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Rice_Ball on ‘Karma Spender’ day then eat them on ‘Daily Feast’ day.

In an attempt to see if I can get Silver Doubloons, I found the Light Bag of Booty from pirates in Gendarran Fields gave a decent amount of chocolate and butter. More chocolate than butter. No doubloons though but that was only around 30 bags.
These actually seem to be less farmable than lodestones. Has anyone ever seen one as an actual drop rather than from a loot bag or chest?
Apart from the issue of whether she was too trusting I do think it’s strange that ANet doesn’t act more decisively towards the scammer. Although I appreciate the argument that the scammer wasn’t contractually obliged to live up to his end of the agreement or whatnot, it was still a scam.
Sure, if someone uses a money-trade trick on you, or scams you out of your credit card details or scams you into using some service you didn’t want to sign up for, maybe in retrospect you realise you could have been more wary or you could have kept your personal details somewhere else. That doesn’t mean that the scammer isn’t to blame. The scammer is still the person who did something wrong.
Since you can buy gems/gold for actual money in GW2, this is pretty much the same thing for me. Someone scammed her out of a lot of gold which is worth actual money. I think it’s troubling no action is being taken against the scammer, who can just go on and keep doing what he did. That’s the very LEAST Anet could do. I don’t see why I should invest my money in a company that doesn’t have the interest of protecting players at heart. I would find it very comforting to see the scammer getting punished for scamming, regardless of the context.
But that’s just my two cents. I think it’s strange, is all.
If they actually took action for every report that system would be easily abused. They have also stated many times that they will not get involved if people decide to trade using mail or other methods besides the TP. The TP allows making the transaction without the risk but someone decided to gamble for a cheaper alternative and as with any other form of gambling sometimes you win and sometimes you lose.
On the other hand the TP itself isn’t 100% safe either but it’s still less risky.
Axe/Warhorn – This combination bleeds the highest 1-hander dps output weapon with some nice utility and mobility options. As a disclaimer, the mega damage from the Axe #1 auto attack pattern only triggers if you let the computer automatically swing for you. If you prefer to manually hit the attack button yourself (to be able to stealthed mobs and attacking mobs that move slightly out of melee range), then you will short circuit the bonus damage on the 2nd and 3rd swings. (Due to the drawbacks of the Axe’s auto attack, I stopped using that weapon. However many people still swear by it.)
Double chop and Triple Chop work fine with manual activation. You just have to avoid spamming 1. The issue with manual activation exists with the rest of the weapon skills anyway. If you use 2 in the middle Double/Triple Chop it will get interrupted. Using auto attack doesn’t stop you from manually activating when you want to. Stealth isn’t something a warrior is has easy access to …
The main reason for not using auto attack is to avoid Confusion damage.
Yeah i used the calculator, so your second account has the first three points?
My second account has the first three points without owning Eye of the North, it still gets the boots, pants and coat.
You can actually do even more without owning Eye of the North, but that requires prophecy’s. The titles in pre-seering can be added to you HoM from Ascalon.
So theoratical it is possible to get up to 8 points without having access to Eye of the north or ever buying Eye of the North.
The way to do this is by never leaving pre-seering, getting the legendary defender of ascalon title (hit level 20 in pre), drunken title, sweet tooth title and party item title.
However with the limited resources for these titles available it takes considerable longer and you need all 5 to get 8 points in total.
Memory is getting fuzzy here but IIRC without access to HoM you can’t ‘dedicate’ any of those titles.
I do not think there is a way to keep both pieces of gear and swap the stats. That would invalidate the point of forcing people to buy transmutation crystals.
It’s usually the PRIMARY stats, not the Upgrade slot that most people Transmute for…
I think a better question is: Why don’t we get “Insignias” from salvaging Masterworks & Rares? We used to get insignias off of gear in GW1…. And you just KNOW Anet’s going to bring back “Perfect” salvage kits some day anyway. So they might as well just bring back Insignia salvaging as well.
Those would be the Black Lion Salvage Kits.
I’ve also tranmuted for the purpose of getting the upgrade slot but that was for the Lyssa runes.
Dying in general in GW1 had bigger consequences(without consumables) than in GW2. For FoW and UW in particular dying/party wipe at the wrong time could mean total failure and everyone gets kicked out. There is no such risk in GW2. Shards and ectos were also good motivators for killing everything in those places since you couldn’t get them anywhere else. You can get those everywhere in GW2.
It’s because when the salvage bug was fixed you can now salvage ectos from level 68+ whites.
Not ectos, orichalcum ore.
I don’t think auto-loot in any form will ever happen due to botting.
Well how about just a slight improvement then? So if you are standing in range of say 5 lootable things one press of F should loot all of them instead of FFFFF. However I don’t think that should involve any sort of gem item, that is just a general quality of life thing.
ANet has apparently designed the game so that speed is a defensive element. Consider that swiftness is one of 3 boons you can gain from the engineer healing elixir. Meaning that ANet is thinking that said boon is not for overland travel, but a quick burst to get you away from your opponents range at the right moment.
It also helps with getting out of AoEs. You only have two dodges and sometimes there are a lot more red circles. Swiftness gives you a chance to run out.
I actually saw someone doing the same thing today. >_<
Luckily I was able activate and kill faster than they can run around messing things up.
If you think about it, these are even harder to come by than charged lodestones and the only reason they were so cheap at the start and why there was an influx of them was because the majority of the community was starting anew and leveling through the point that dropped these.
I don’t agree that the rarity of charged lodestones is correct, but what I am trying to say is that Doubloons are rarer than Lodestones and right now the price is too cheap imo. They should be a bit closer together, so I don’t see these going down anytime soon until theyre around 2-3g a piece. It sucks yes, I know, but everything is getting more scarce everyday. Heck, look at t6 mats and t6 Dust in particular.
They are BOTH hard to get, however at least most of us are at level 80 where we have more of a chance to see a lodestone vs a doubloon.
If they are rare because of drop rate issues then that is something for the devs to fix. If they are rare because players aren’t bothering to kill the relevant mobs then it might still be something that needs fixing but it would be a completely different(and more difficult) type of fix. In theory if you wanted to farm these Gendarran Fields would be the place to go.
As for parking a character at a JP, just park one in the right level range in one of the Lion’s Arch jumping puzzles. They’ll get level appropriate stuff there.
The scythe thing was a player suggestion. If you want to know who to blame just search the forum. :P
