That’s not really the issue that exists. What exists would be that players can experience the living story before completing the personal story. Since the living story happens after the personal story, the living story has to avoid as many spoilers as possible and ensure not to accidentally use things that wouldn’t make sense to use after (or in some cases perhaps even before) the personal story’s events.
Setting up the personal story as a flashback does nothing to solve this.
That really depends on the skill of the storyteller.
For example, Fast and Furious 6 is a prequel to the earlier shows that were released. We already know what will happen to the Korean guy.
Star Wars 1-3 were prequels to the original Trilogy. We already know Anakin becomes Vader.
X-Men: First Class is a prequel to most of the Marvel superhero films chronologically speaking. We already know Charles and Eric had a falling out.
The spoiler isn’t so much what happens at the end of the franchise, but what happens at the end of the movie.
This day and age, audiences are a little more sophisticated. I doubt there is anyone who didn’t think Zhaitan would be defeated. But even if they know Zhaitan will be defeated, at least the audience can still wonder about the “how”.
Zhaitan being dead is a fairly minor issue here, I am pretty sure at least 2 of the devs spoiled that bit in an interview before launch. What matters is all the other details in between.
You do realize they aren’t going to get an artist(people for fixing stuff like skins) to go fix a dungeon bug right?
Dragon Bash ends on July 9th so you don’t have to be in too big of a hurry.

Had a guildy last night fail to realize he was on a different server when he bought influence. None of use had known he had moved otherwise we would have stopped him.
Any chance that may have been a factor?
Not for me but being in overflow would have been likely.
Been getting this fairly frequently as of late. Restarting the client makes the problem go away. It seems like the TP browser has become a bit senile and started to forget authentication information.
Since it is possible to get 100% crit even without the trait. Get your crit to something “close enough” then get full adrenaline. Then every hit after that should be a crit if the trait is working.
Edit: Don’t do this yet, wait until tomorrow’s patch.

Pretty sure that is from NPC conversation in Hoelbrak. Near the portal into Wayfarer Foothills.
I don’t know how or why they would be expected to police the player to player trading when other games certainly don’t. In many ways, this game is kind of simplified for certain players though, so maybe that’s why.
Also, I don’t doubt that the conversion rate isn’t super great, but some idiots drop $50 on those dumb RNG boxes for an ugly weapon skin, so those kinds of people are out there. My point was more aimed at the fact that Anet will do many things(except nerf CoF) to make gold scarce so that anybody(lazy people with money) might be more inclined to purchase gems.
You are responding in a thread where someone is expecting them to police the trading even in the absence of a trading system. You think if there was one people wouldn’t be expecting them to police it?
Sure …if you are sitting on enough gold and don’t mind sitting around poking at GW2 while doing something else.
Testing the effectiveness of these seems tedious. First you have to establish the base rate for the white tools then do it again with the others to see if there is an actual change from the fine/masterwork/rare tools. You would also have to do it while guesting to avoid WvW bonus influencing the result.
Marjory’s Journal if you think you’ll ever want to rewatch.
The others just toss. If you ever need another one to progress the game will provide another one. If the game doesn’t provide one there will be enough people complaining which will cause the devs to add a way to get another one.
Edit: oops, reward → rewatch. Silly typo.

The other thing is that with the API and timer sites there is no need to be in any of the maps to do the temple events. Before you had to be there or have a friend/guildmate in there.
Where are you getting the idea that it stacks intensity? If we are reading the same leaked notes it just means there is a cap on the weakness duration.
Possibility is high I read it wrong/read different notes. The thread I was following that was discussing them has since expired. Either outcome, the change is still a sPvP focused one, like most everything else. I’d be very surprised if any dungeon groups that for some reason still play will bother to incorporate weakness into their meta. I mean, I can think of dozens of places where it might be useful, but I doubt it would be effective.
Well there is two sides to Weakness. Being used by players and being used against players. The notes were only about skills, the full patch notes would be including other things. On the other hand they never seem to bother with including dungeon changes so it’ll require playing through every path to find out what actually changed. If more mobs start using Weakness or get increased crit rates and/or crit damage. It would probably take something very obvious to get people to notice though. Something like required fight that has low HP, high armor, slow attack speed(so the damage numbers do not get buried in an avalanche of numbers), high crit rate and high crit damage.
Sure, you can also mail between regions. For mail between regions you MUST use the account name instead of a character name.
Well, i got 2 in 15 minutes on Frostgorge Sound in that place with the colossus. I was with 100% MF i think. The funny thing is, i farmed for 45min one day before, nothing dropped. Then in the other day, in the morning, as soon as i logged in, i killed one colossus and one dropped, then 15min later another one. I tought fun because i farmed like a madman on the day before and nothing dropped, then suddenly on the other day, 2 in a row!
Sorry for my bad english.
Maybe it’s still just super random then?
It was just weird for me since I had so consistently farmed them in the past at the rate of about 2/hr on my guard, and then I didn’t get any after several different farming excursions to the same area on my ranger. I almost wonder if kill speed has something to do with drop rates/DR overall.
Probably not … with low rates you’ll need large number of kills to establish any useful data and you would need to keep track of every kill and every drop. Seems very tedious. Gut feelings won’t cut it for this sort of thing. You’ll remember the 3 hours of 0 drops and forget about the 2 drops in a row.
I had that happen sometime near release it was for the 400 Influence letter from Claw Island. I probably kept checking the history tab every once in a while for what was probably a couple of months. The influence never showed up.
Have you actually tested this? The hero panel is known to have issues with displaying conditional values. On the other hand I DO remember a time when it was correctly changing for Heightened Focus but this was not very long after release.
Maybe not … I just forged 4 masterwork pistols into a rare dagger.
That is a matter of how you choose to interpret

Rare mystery Wintersday boxes will have a chance to drop throughout the world. They will also be available in the consumable category of the Gem Store. They will contain gifts available in-game, plus a random item only available in the store.
Boxes will contain one to five gifts, plus one of the following:
- Common: a Wintersday dye pack, a gingerbread snowball mortar, or one of three unique Wintersday transformation tonics.
- Uncommon: One of three new festive miniatures; a snowman, a festive golem, or the toymaker’s Infinirarium.
- Rare: The festive fur cap, and a claim ticket for your choice of winter wooden weapons.
- Very Rare: Infinite self-style hair kit or unique Wintersday baby quaggan miniature.
Permanent self-style kit isn’t mentioned anywhere else
That does not say you can play on the same account on multiple characters. You are allowed to play on multiple accounts running on multiple computers at the same time.
You MIGHT even be allowed to play on multiple accounts on the same computer at the same time but as far as I know that would require modifying the client and THAT is now allowed(you could potentially get around this by using a virtual machine but that is going to require a fairly powerful system).
(edited by Khisanth.2948)
Zhaitaffy does not give a food buff(apple icon). There are many different consumables, including things like recipes and various tonics and potions. None of those count as food. Consumable in this case just means you’ll lose the items upon use(except for endless tonics of course). Other differences from food items, it doesn’t give you +exp from kills.
That is what the “Unique” means. You can use the infused and uninfused at the same time because they are considered different items(different item_id).
Weakness duration has been universally nerfed across all professions. Now stacks intensity instead of duration. I’d imagine that this condi will find a new home with confusion/retaliation.
I can’t even keep a straight face; weakness was already useless in pve.
Where are you getting the idea that it stacks intensity? If we are reading the same leaked notes it just means there is a cap on the weakness duration. Intensity stacking doesn’t make any sense for weakness. 5 stacks would be … 125% chance to fumble? 250% less damage? Do you start healing enemies with every hit?
This is actually a bug which some people are experiencing.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Auto-attack-cancelled-on-dodge-merged/2207954 (he is referring to the June 25th patch)
It should work like that, yes.
Can you be absolutely sure, that you did use 4 staves? Because some sceptres or spears might look like a staff on first sight.
Many tridents look exactly like staves too.
There is an event which makes that WP available but someone has to be around to defend otherwise it goes away very quickly.
Dragon Ball Devotee does not count. Neither does Dragon Ball Boss.
You have 100+ guild members who haven’t gotten an achievement point since they started collecting data for the leaderboard.
I’ve also seen less people farming there overall. I think others are experiencing the same thing and have since stopped farming that area. Maybe the ones showing up on the AH are only from Jormag event mobs? Who knows.
During? I thought those were nerfed ages ago because people were purposely prolonging the event so they can farm those.
I don’t know anything about the drop rate of the lodestones from the Jormag event mobs. However, the only other places I can think that these are coming from are Orrian boxes, Fractals, or if maybe the elementals in Orr also drop them.
Well the ice elementals near Grenth statues might but that would require completing the Grenth temple event which doesn’t seem to happen much these days.
There’s supposedly some near the entrance to Arah as well.
There are ones near every deactivated Grenth statue. Each of the temples have a type of elemental associated with them. Melandru spawns earth elementals which drops onyx. Dwayna spawn sparks/air elementals which drops charged lodestones. Balthazar spawns fire elementals which should drop molten. I can’t think of anything related to Lyssa but if there is something they would probably drop Crystal Lodestones.
Lyssa spawns air elementals too.
Hmm interesting so taking both temples would be better for spark farming …
Edit: Looks like Lyssa statues will spawn a random elemental from 2 of the other gods. Right now we have neither Balthazar temple nor the Grenth temple but ice and fire elementals are spawning near the lyssa statue. Also earth and air but we do have Dwayna and Melandru.

Since it is now just a skin it is not really the sclerite karka shell anymore. It’s the rabid back. You MIGHT be able to upgrade it in the future when they fix the similar issue with precursors and legendaries.
The advanced discipline factors in RNG, but boy oh boy when I tried to farm vanilla beans :c
Vanilla is relatively easy.

soon weakness is going to be the bane of everything in PvP and PvE that relies on dealing massive critical hits.
How many things actually use weakness in PvE? The only things I can think of are karkas and the veteran troll guarding the artichoke patch in Mount Maelstrom. There are undoubtedly more but they don’t seem to use it enough to stand out.
This trait does not seem to be affecting Grenade Barrage(toolbelt skill) anymore. With Grenadier, Grenade Barrage is supposed to throw 8 grenades but it is only throwing 6. In PvE the tooltip is also wrong. In Heart of the Mist the tooltip is correct. In both locations the actual number of grenades thrown is wrong.
There is Guardian. Seems to be good in every format.
… until the patch on the 25th
Every armour class complains about their limitations.
- If you’re medium, you’re gonna have to wear a longcoat almost without exception.
- If you’re light, you’re going to have a skirt or robe.
- If you’re heavy you can forget wearing anything soft, it’s all metal clasps, plates and spikes.
As a light armour user I often look longingly at the straps and buckles all the medium armours get, and wish I could have an outfit that didn’t have a skirt
My cloth casters would love to have pants… and not the lone set of harem pants.
On the other hand, the guys have to wear robes as well, so I shouldn’t complain too much.
How many MMORPG’s have male casters in pants at end game?
From supposedly the same people no less…
Probably not exactly the same …
In GW1 they were also a bit more decisive. In GW2 there are too many “I can’t decide if I want this to be pants or a dress so lets just go half and half”.
Seems to be a generally loading problem. Nothing specific to dungeons or CoF.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Long-loadup-screen-5-minutes-and-counting
You might want to hover your mouse over the chest piece and read the tooltip again. Specifically the second to last line, just above “Soulbound”
Seem to be having the same issue with Black Citadel on Desolation. Had to guest to another server to get out.
With how many people are you trying to do it? We have a big guild so on sunday we have like 20-25 people per bounty, on friday we usually have around 5-10 per bounty. (friday being the day for the people who couldn’t mke it on sunday). Usually it goes fine with both days, howeverwe do use TS and we’ve done bounty since the reales, so maybe it’s a matter of experience aswell
That is a very different definition of ‘small guild’.
Our entire roster is less people than that.
We usually do ours with 5 people. 6 if we’re lucky. Occassionlly 4. That being said all or most us have world completion so we have access to all the WP and all of us are in either full exotic or a mix of exotic and ascended.
When we go from Tier 1 to Tier 2 food items, we still see Peppercorn, Garlic, Parsley, Thyme, and Carrots on the loot table for tier 2 harvesting nodes. We also see sage leaves obtainable from 2 different nodes.
I think you might see where I am going.. By the time we get to tier 4, “Mature Herbs” you have got 10 items that can be harvested from that one node.. of those items 8 are Their 1, 2, and 3 Herbs, meaning you have a 20% chance when harvesting a tier 4 node to get a tier 4 material..
Tiers matter a lot less in cooking that the other crafting professions. A weaponsmith is never going to need copper ore when crafting lv400 weapons but a chef can and does need materials from other tiers even if they are making lv400 items.
Both those things can vary a lot. Doing map completion after the first time can go much faster so you should keep that in mind when looking at how long it takes other people. For example there is a heart in Blazeridge Steppes which would take the usual couple of minutes if done normally or you can stand at one spot and spam F to do it in seconds.
For world completion the most important thing to be aware of is the status of the WvW maps unless your server tends to hold every map(this is much less likely with the new matchmaking system) you’ll want to grab whatever is available whenever possible. You can use http://mos.millenium.org/ to check the status of the maps without entering WvW which might require queuing. This also means if you are on a server that is particularly bad in WvW then world completion could literally take ‘forever’.
(edited by Khisanth.2948)
It resets each day so you can always try again tomorrow. I’ve never really paid attention to the order I opened the chests except the one in the back was always last. Of course you could just get the other 8 and find out.
Heh … well Warrior is considered one of the strongest PvE class but one of the weakest PvP class.
Anyway according to dev comments and leaked patched notes necromancer should be getting quite a few buffs next patch(June 25) including a new Death Shroud ability which sounds a bit OP vs crowds but we’ll have to see it first. I don’t play my necromancer as much as some of the other classes but I don’t really have much complaints about it either aside from some bugs and limitations on Death Shroud(can’t interact things, can’t res people). On the other hand mind is built more towards power than condition damage while most people seem to go for all condition damage.
I mentioned this above but I am not sure if you understood what I said. For the fractal achievement simply avoiding falling is not enough. You must also avoid being in the downed state.
As for the hint I did this a long time ago so I don’t remember what I did exactly but because it’s a hint achievement I would expect it to be triggered if you DON’T finish you opponents with F. Finishing people off with F means you don’t need the hint.
I just had this happen too, apparently if you skip the un-needed boss (sure-fire?) it bugs out, he isnt even a boss in a sense, sense he runs away and gives up, no chest from him either, so no point in him even being there. Kinda a slap to the face to people who do the dungeon and not get the reward
As I mentioned before(maybe not in this thread) we’ve skipped that guy 3 times AFTER we experienced the bug. Those 3 runs went perfectly fine without any bug. Therefore while skipping him might be a contributing factor it is not the sole cause.
If anyone is willing to spare the time you could try testing if skipping the final cutscene is a sure fire way to trigger the bug.
Something I forgot to mention in previous posts. There are at least two ways you can aggro Frost.
1) walking down the stairs into his aggro radius
2) jumping off the stairs from the top and walking into his aggro radius
I mentioned above that Traffa needs to be alive but thinking over that might not be true. Aside from Traffa being alive there was also one other thing we changed. Instead of doing 2) from above we went with 1). It is possible that the event area for the cutscene is at the bottom of the stairs and Traffa doesn’t actually need to be alive.
