It gives faster recharge not a recharge reduction.
Without the faster recharge it is 100%/(10%/s), at 30% faster recharge that is 100%/(13%/s) which is 7.692307~ and the game just shows it as 3/4.
Most things in the game gives faster recharge rather than reduced recharge. This is probably to make it work with Chilled.
Also got it after killing Mk II Golem, got it after harvesting ONE of the artichokes in the artichoke patch in Mount Maelstrom. Didn’t level in either case.
Friend got it using Axe #3 on warrior, same map.
Make sure you have room in your mailbox.
Ritualist was basically kind of like a necromancy that worked with spirits instead of the bodies/flesh of the dead (from what I saw of it. I only played ele back then so I’m not 100% sure on this) You could summon various types of spirits for different effects. Hence the engi turrets being a mechanical similarity.
They used the ashes of the dead in quite a few skills. All the “<name> was ____” skills.
Next thing you know, people will be saying that Alesia was awesome. lol
What was wrong with Alesia?
Tell you what when we start the NPC hate list Trahearne pops to mind far faster than Alesia lol
That is probably because you’ve been playing GW2 much more recently than you’ve have had need to bring Alesia. By the time you meet Trahearne on a non-Sylvari character you should be pretty much trained to know that NPCs are basically useless and Trahearne has some annoying lines but when you have Alesia in the party there was a reason for that.
The problem with Alesia was her skill priorities. She had a tendency to try to res people in the wrong time. The middle of a battle where your party is taking enough damage for someone to be killed is not the greatest time for your only healer to stop everything she is doing and start casting a slow ressurection spell. If you weren’t playing from release it might not be as noticeable, there were a bunch of updates to henchmen and hero AI. In the Crystal Desert section of the game I believe she has(or had, there were also some updates to their skills too) Healing Touch on her bar as well which meant she would try to charge into the thick of things when trying to heal.
Engineer is also very different you were relying on a certain PvE Ritualist skill.
If you click on the down arrow on a select tab there are a bunch of checkboxes for what sort of message to show. Make sure you have the relevant boxes checked.
They are only from lv68+ rares and exotics. I’ve been salvaging nearly every rare from the events and while I don’t always get an ectos it’s been fairly consistent. There has been a noticeable decrease in the average. The chance of getting 3 from a salvage seems lower than before that bug with the black lion kit.
Every one of the veterans I’ve seen has been invulnerable. How did you manage to kill it?
Like I said, if you manage to kill it, it will bug the holo.
I prefer not to say, otherwise some morons will go and bug all the holos out there…
Send it as an email to exploit@arena.net then or was that exploits … or PM a dev. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/members/Jeremiah-Lee-2764 looks like a good choice based on posts.
Sounds like they fixed a bug …
The longer it goes w/o fix the event will become more drawn out as players abandon it due to a time/reward ration that only gets worse the longer this stays as is.
If you are one of the few who enjoys this drawn out fight, then prepare for it to draw out more. Enjoy 1-2hr claw events…the rest of us will go elsewhere.
That would be a huge failure in learning their lesson from the Karka Queen event.
Long event doesn’t equal challenging even, they only people I’ve ever seen die in this event are either the really stupid who stand where they shouldn’t or ones who get one-shotted by a wandering champion.
You could also do Sorrow’s Embrace for Knight’s armor or … just get the Armored Scales in Southsun.
Next thing you know, people will be saying that Alesia was awesome. lol
Now that you mention it … according to the usual GW2 practices she was ahead of her time by 250 years with the combat ressing. So from a GW2 perspective Alesia is pretty awesome compared to the GW2 NPCs and even some GW2 players.
Every on swap sigil has a 9s cooldown … that is not likely to change?
It’s just the tool tip that is wrong, about as wrong as the title for this post.
well lets see if its below 30 silver in a months time
If the wiki is correct and the recipe only creates one starcake then that is not very likely.
The prices of the white cake ingredients seems unchanged by this so …
1s32c – 2x White Cakes
25s00c – 50 Saffron Threads for 50c, assuming it settles down to that price
2s00c – 40 Zhaitaffy assuming this recipe prevents the price from falling further
12s00c – Pile of Crystalline Dust
40s32c – total cost
47s43c – price to sell on TP to get back 40s32c
It’s not really leveling specific. Had it come up after killing some holograms in Mount Maelstrom. Had it come up after killing The Shatterer. Also had it happen in some other places and activities. That was on different characters and professions.
The trait line does not reduce recharge time. It increases recharge rate. Only the trait reduces the recharge time. Increasing recharge rate and reducing recharge time has a similar effect but they are not the same.

Meh .. I would say the WP icon sitting on top of the area name is worse.
I don’t like levelling either; I like having everything unlocked and experimenting with builds. GW2 is a lot worse than GW1 in that respect.
Of course, you can level by crafting, and it’ll take less than a day, but it IS expensive.
For my last three characters, I used the speed crafting guide here: http://www.gw2crafts.net/Unfortunately, GW2 at 80 is quite inflexible. In order to properly explore builds, you’ll need to spend a LOT of in game currencies of one kind or another investing in multiple armour sets.
I get the feeling ArenaNet want to make it expensive to change build so you’re more likely to spend money on gems to convert to gold.
Either that or they don’t want people playing more than one build per character.
A lot worse than GW1? Did you even play GW1 or do you just have a very bad memory? Do you need a reminder on how Elite skills were obtained or the fact that learning a skill cost gold in GW1? Do you know how much it suck to fight your way to the top of Snake Dance to get to Dreadnaught’s Drift for Feast of Corruption only to realize your forgot to bring Signet of Capture? How about zoning in and out of various zones in Ring of Fire to get the right boss to spawn or rerunning missions in the Crystal Desert? Are you really asking for more RNG in your skill acquisition?
Obtaining all skills for a particular profession would have cost around 100platinums or 10g in GW2 assuming you could get the others through quests. You still need the skill points too. GW2 skills only require skills points, you need approximately 118 to learn all of them, 175 if you want the racial skills as well. 202 skill points can be obtained through skill challenges. Both gold and skills points are obtained much faster in GW2.
As for experimenting, a lot of it can be done in Heart of the Mist. The GW1 equivalent would still require you to unlock all the skills first, either through PvP, Zhaishen training(not available anywhere near launch), obtain through PvE mentioned above or paying. There was no gold→gem exchange either.
Some things were better in GW1 but obtaining skills certainly wasn’t one of them.
Warrior’s Burst Mastery trait is now bugged with the changes to Discipline. It doesn’t reduce cooldowns whatsoever on burst skills (maybe due to it not stacking with the changes to Discipline?), which essentially reverts it to its old functionality. Eagerly awaiting a fix.
This is not a bug. This is ‘a change missing from the patch notes’. Look at the description of Burst Mastery again.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/index.php?title=Burst_Mastery&diff=prev&oldid=610295
The burst damage from Discipline and faster recharge from Burst Mastery swapped places.
The effect of the change is that with Burst Mastery trait Burst does +10% which is up from +3%. Burst recharge rate went from 20% faster to 30% faster.
We’re looking into this, no changes were made the encounter that I know of, so it sounds like some unrelated change might have introduced a bug. And as we’ve stated several times, we simply don’t have time or manpower to answer every single post, so it doesn’t mean that we’re ignoring an issue if we don’t reply right away. : )
Might actually some sort of network sync issue or when event scaling happens. Saw something similar last night with Shadow Behemoth. Nobody was clearing the monastary for the pre-event so I WP over and cleared it. In the time it took me(with a D/D elementalist using RTL+Signet of Air) to run from the monastary to within range to see SB’s HP it was already as 50% then it just jumped back to approximately 90%. SB’s health usually goes down fast but not that fast.
In a different thread(in the bugs section where it should be …) people have also reported that some people claims to have seen it with the correct HP while others didn’t.
You should be looking in the combat lot instead but that looks correct.
3000 – Chop
3000 – Double Chop
3000 – Double Chop
3000 – Triple Chop
3000 – Triple Chop
7500 – Triple Chop
Why are you expecting triple chop to hit 4 times?
Never got it using the F for AoE looting or the keybind but I DID get it right after killing the The Shatterer. Maybe it was attempting to AoE loot the chest?
That would be Torment not Terror. Terror is the name of a trait that causes Fear to deal damage.
o_O does this mean the Champion in Queensdale is also this tiny?
Just got a charged lodestone from one of those aswell, so lodestones are possible.
EDIT: Nvm, didn’t saw “lodestones” in title.
Using which kit?
What’s the bug? Is it the chest itself or the puzzle?
It worked perfectly in the preview, so may just be something that has a workaround.
The puzzle itself will frequently break. In various ways such as the patterns on the face not showing up/updating among other things.
If you think those are the only Risen Abominations in the game I have some bad news for you …
They have more than one melee attack. There is the overhead smash(this will knockback as well) and there is the swing. Then there is the charge attack. I’ve never seen non-champions use the range attack(throws their club).
Hmm, odd. I was always under the assumption that when a player re-enters the instance (be it a dungeon, be it a fractal), that that player always enters the instance as a ‘dead’ player.
Especially when the team is in combat.
That is just for fractal.
Why do you want to know how many people work at ANet? Seems like a desperate attempt at explaining your dislike for content, or desperate attempt for an argument that they have too little staff? I really have no idea lol, I’m just curious why it even matters. Can a games company not have a natural turn-around of staff like every other company?
Then OP should go read https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mythical_Man-Month
I still don’t know how that forge works. I don’t like reading guides I suppose. I just throw some stuff in there and see what happens, usually some junky spear.
Most of the time, throwing in random items will get you random items. There are some recipes out there for high end items, like mystic weapons.
But if you throw in four of the same type of items, like four spears, you’ll always get a spear back.
You also have a small chance (roughly 20%) of getting back an item of a higher level than the objects you put in. For example, putting in four green short bows, can get you a yellow short bow. Throwing in four yellow short bows will most likely get you a yellow short bow, but might also get you an exotic one, including, VERY rarely, a precusor.
Throwing in four exotic showbows will give you a better chance of getting the precusor.
The OP was very lucky.
Gratz OP!
It should be noted that while the above is the end of the story for high level items(76+?). That is not the case for lower level items. If you toss in 4 lv60 greens it is also possible to end up with something like a lv65 blue.
Only someone with access to the code would know the real answer but putting them into specific coffers/crates/… would probably require making them unstackable as well as putting a significant increase in server memory usage and disk usage(multiplied by however many backup copies they keep around). The code would also be more complicated. I can’t think of any benefits to doing it this way.
So unless ANet is a fan of burning money the item is probably allocated when you open them.
I bought like 10 of the wings, and I’m wondering if it is a big mistake.
The reason is everytime I put up a buy order, I got the item within 1 minutes. If you think about it that’s like 1440 wings being sold in a day. Cross finger and hope everything go well.
If you have 10 characters you could always put one on each.
They are also constantly destroying gold with every item list. Destroying gold jumping from WP to WP chasing after the world bosses. Buying salvage kits and salvaging things into silk and leather.
Too much gold is bad doesn’t mean too little is good either. I should have been more clear though. It is bad for ANet if there is so little gold that the value of gold is higher than the value of gems.
At some point you ctrl+right clicked Ring of Fire …
Ye cof is good for beginners, and also they are going to nerf it soon as some ppl were saying last week.
When selling and flipping gems i think there is a 30% penalty .
Maybe, maybe not. They seem to be too busy not working on dungeons. Besides they do need something pumping gold into the economy to keep up with the sinks! Lack of gold in the economy isn’t really good for ANet.
Remember guys, this is your chance to vote against rng boxes. If you like the new armor and you hate the the rng boxes then don’t let this opportunity to voice your opinion on the subject pass you by.
but I don’t like EITHER of these! >_<
I have nothing againt armor skins in gem store, I just don’t like the design. If they put the GW1 armors into the shop there are a bunch I would buy. Probably not for $$ though, I only do that for character slots, bank slots(too bad I already have the max) and possibly inventory slots.
These will cost either 15g or 25g(using current exchange rates). I’ve noticed that each dungeon path is around 1g(doesn’t seem to matter which dungeon) so that is around a week if someone does 3 paths each day. This is about the same amount of time it takes to get a full armor set from a dungeon using tokens assuming 60-69 tokens per run.
It would only take a one line script using ack/grep + sed(or similar)…
Check to make sure your local time is accurate. You should get chest if you complete your daily before 5pm pacific.
Is the time displayed on the mini map server (adjusted for local time zone) or local time?
It’s the time from your own system. That is how people were able to change their clock to see what the future daily/monthly categories are going to be.
If this is the event right before fighting Taidha, you are supposed to kill the pirates at the cannons on the beach while the lionguard ship uses its cannons to fire at the door. It fires shots every 5-10 seconds. The pirates on the beach are firing cannons at the lionguard ship so it is a race of which one kills the other first.
That bit is a bit buggy … you should also destroy the cannons. I would have to double check but I am pretty sure the cannons can just fire on their own without a living pirate next to it.
This place is worse off now than before the recent update. The new events here have further killed this once desolate place. I used to like to come to Southsun for a peaceful retreat, now all the crazed creatures everywhere make this place a joke.
ANet should take a look at this, and reflect on where they went wrong. Analyze this and use that information moving forward.
Not only have they made this map worse off (arguable), but they have nearly broken the guild missions there. Try doing a guild rush through a settlement full of crazed karka! And there is no clearing in advance, it seems to reset in about 5 minutes.
The reason seems somewhat obvious there. The devs were too optimistic(hubris?) about how attractive the loot would be but 2 rares, 2 greens and a handful of karka shells? Not when the events reset every 5 minutes with crazed creatures and extremely fast respawn rates for some of the events. They have claimed to be trying make things appropriate for large groups but these groups do not appear to exist or these groups just keep saying they want content for large groups but never actually bother doing them.
Depends on how quickly you think you can ‘catch up’, fastest would be doing both. Getting up to the lv60 personal story would also get you 2 Black Lion Keys and 400 Influence for your guild which is worth 80s.
Story steps reward exp based on the step’s level and map completion rewards based on the map’s highest level. You are getting less and less in terms of percentage of a level the further you are away.
Nothing is truly out of the question but I wouldn’t be expecting it any time soon. It took GW1 about 6 or 7 years before they started to repeat things (most development efforts was being focused on GW2 at that point).
The temporary availability serves at least two purposes. It makes the items somewhat exclusive, I believe the example the devs gave was a t-shirt you could only get at a certain concert. The other purposes would be to keep people returning to the game.
Next year’s Dragon Bash would likely have a different set of weapon skins.
There is no static answer due to changing prices but I would suggest
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Salvage_Item
+ http://www.guildwarstrade.com/
Right now Frayed Garment/Rag looks good, you might even make a tiny profit. The items that salvage into Gold Ore/Platinum Ore might be good as well.
Well, I was on Southsun for a Guild Mission just yesterday. After we completed the Rush, we noticed that 3/4 settlements were captured, so we figured, “Hey, let’s see if we can pop the Queen.” About 10 minutes later, Queen was up, I let out a holler in Map and Guild chat to let people know, and 4 minutes later there was about 40 – 50 people (enough to trigger culling, at least) smashing the Queen into crab jelly.
So it is still being done, at least on busier servers like Tarnished Coast. I do agree that the frequency of the attacks on the settlements is a bit high though. I think after each settlement is pacified, it should stay safe for at least 15 – 20 mins. Right now it feels like as soon as the Queen is dead, we look at the map and all the settlements are contested again. That ain’t right!
On the other hand we have this. They aren’t the only ones either.

Even if you “dropped” the item there should still be an item in your inventory. Unless you dragged the item out of your inventory and destroyed it of course. You could try putting the item in your bank(assuming you didn’t destroy it) and try talking to Ellen again.
There are already better looking monocles in game anyhow.
For medium armor classes …
