I am looking for a highly active guild, that is also of such a size that it is more or less never a problem to get groups for end game content such as Arah and Fractals 30+.
It dosnt much mather what server the guild is on, however I am only intrested in guilds that have a somewhat strict english only rule for guild chat.
Would also be a big + if the guild have a decent activity after midnight, not at all a requirement though.
Basicly I am looking for a guild that I can progress with, and hopefully help progress trough future content.
I have been a serious mmo player since the early days of eq1, and have activly played a majority of the mmo’s released since, I have been apart of to many endgame guilds, some of which were a somewhat high profile.
I am not a big fan of using voice over, but can use it when needed etc.
I take my gaming somewhat seriously, and I am looking to play with people who wont waste my time with 30 min afks mid dungeon, and I also generally prefer to play with other mature players.
I have no patience for elitists or people who go on 10 minute rants, if someone make a mistake, give them a slap and MOVE ON!
Currently I play a Support Hammer/Gs Guardian 25AR, lvl 31 Fractals And a 80 Warrior with a Zerk Set, and a Knight Boon set.
Also worth noting I prefer not having to deal with guild websites etc daily, they don’t intrest me at all.
I am not great at writing these kinda posts, however hopefully someone know of a guild that might suit my needs, if so I would really appriciate a reply.
The loot engine is this game is abysmal…there’s no other way to describe it. I do love the game, but the loot issues in the game are eventually going to drive me away.
Same. The game is awesome in many ways, yet it keeps frustrating me with the bugs introduced in every patch and the unrewarding dungeon runs. I mean, running Fractals of the Mists 34 barely gives me 1g. Not worth the time at all..
Fractals have the best rare and exotic drop rates of any content in the game, which is great if you need ectos, and the main reason to run it is for the relics and chance for an immediate piece of Ascended gear. Running it for gold is pretty inefficient… you know that each of the three paths of AC will give you over 1g alone, right?
Granted, I’m of the seemingly rare mindset that you should be running all of the above primarily for fun… but that’s neither here nor there.
Fractals best loot? AHAHAH! please, Im laughing so hard it hurts.. I imagine for a small percentage of the population who get rares and exos like fraking candy from fractals sure, but for the majority of us, the fractals are absolutely horrible for rares or any loot in general.
And then there are those of us who tilt the other way, Hell lately i’ve been LUCKYYYY if i break 1g from a 20-30+ fractal, hell most of the time i barley reach 50s..
while being stuck watching 1 player linking a rare after rare after exotics after lodestone.
I don’t know about the loot system in general, but it most definatly is broken in fractals.. Its always the same person who ends up getting considerably more or less loot..
The most amount of rares I have gotten from fractals these last 2 weeks have been 3 rares, not one of them was from the chests, they all dropped of mobs.
On the other hand im getting a kittenload of utterly useless condensed mist.
I find theyr voices to be super annoying to be perfectly honest, I like the backpack though, cause it knows better then to bloody open its mouth.
woot! Gem Card Imports to europe! sounds like a business opportunity lol
30min at best
Inquest? sign me up! enough of this fluffybunny nice guy routine!
Tbh any warrior silly enough to get caught not using FGJ by me will suffer greatly!
There is absolutely no excuse for not using it.
Oglaf, not one of the best, its THE best :P
Skin, alot of skin!
obviously there are diffrences, but there is no doubt they are no where near this clearcut
Sadly this kinda of math has become the norm in online games over the last few years.. I don’t see it disapering anytime soon, regardless of how idiotic it is.
Completly against these programs myself, I appriciate the hardwork that goes into them..
However gold wars 2 is one perfect example of why it shouldn’t be allowed, someone will always try to profit of it in real life, by offering superior programs, this ends up being a “pay to have a advantage” situation which is bad.
And I also don’t think they should be allowed/possible even if the gold charging services could be defeated, It removes a pretty big aspect of the game (in my opinion) bargain hunting, when people get to easy access to all this info at once, the possibity of nice buy/sell opportunities more or less vanish.
Notifier makes it even worse, honestly.. the ability to 1c outbid people in the tp is one of the worst things about tp, and this makes it that much easier for people who use these programs to lock down a certain item with 1c bids.
Lets by all means not forget that ALOT if not MOST people never visit forums, and will never been informed that these programs exist, at such they will be at a permanent disadvantage as long as these programs are allowed to exist.
If margins and notifiers are to be added, it should be a ingame feature, or not a feature at all, ease of access for all, or for non.
I find spidy to be a really well made tool, and i appriciate the hard work went into it, however, I think the game would overall be better of without these programs.
‘’Playing 8 hours a day winning 4 yellow for a grant total of 8 ectos ’’
and you have the casual player like me ( average 6-8 hours a day And by far not an Elitist.) ’’Guild wars 2 is the kind of game that you see anything in 2 weeks,
There are the problems that I see. Guildies playing 8 hours a day?
You think being a casual player is 6-8 hours a day? I can assure you it’s not. That is a luxury, not being a casual gamer.
You have over 1500 hours of playtime since release? You’ve overused the game.
There is no way you can see the whole game world in 2 weeks unless you play for insane amounts of time.
I still have maps that I haven’t even opened up yet. Never even been there.
It’s unfair for those players who dedicate their entire days and nights to playing a game then scream at the Developers for not making enough content.
Things like precursors and legendary weapon I do agree. There should be a reasonable expectation of being able to receive your legendary if you work toward it. That is not the same thing as playing with the RNG and praying.
I think maybe you need to take a break and go outside, get some fresh air, let the game sit for a bit and come back. You need a vacation.
you should have read his post, he was complaining about the fact that they were focusing on adding new content, rather then fixing the content they had..
naked belly is not attractive? im so confused…
Tbh if you play 8 hours and get only 4 rares, you’re doing it wrong.
Sometimes I get 4 rares in 10 minutes.
I agree I find his 4 rares in 8 hours odd, but being someone with bad luck myself I find your 4 rares in 10mins just as a odd.
As for people bashing him for calling himself casual, seriously, wth? how is it relevant? if anything the fact that he still can’t keep up ingame by playing 6-8 hours just shows his point.
And this bullkitten “Oh you got 1500 hours played, mabye you should just quit” behaviour needs to go, this is not a single player game, in mmo terms 1500 hours is nothing, I easily spent 10 000 hours + on eq1, and still kept my intrest for years, its a mmo its ment to keep your intrest for a long period of time.
How long he played has absolutely nothing to do with if he should quit or not.
And while I havnt seen alot of bugs like he apperntly has, I still see plenty of issues with the game which could drive people to quit, these issues need to be discussed not sweept under the rug.
If you are perfectly happy with the game, then more power to you, enjoy it, but don’t expect other players to ignore flaws that do not bother or affect you.
It’s worth pointing out right here that there is not a single item in this game that cannot be attained simply by playing the game. .
I call and raise you a Final Rest!
How sure are you about that? from what little i gather no one has figured out just how to attain it yet, if its even possible.
chances are its also a mf item, just a less logical combination, and If it was atleast we’ll see another gold rush.
Most likely because the stat dosnt exist on low lvl armor or upgrades.
Lol, personally its my favorite part of the quaggan backpack ..
I get these stupid upgrade materials all the time, on the other hand I never get rares or exos.. so yeah im done with fractals for now aswell, Wish we could trade -.-
Very good idea pure, that i’ve seen quite a few times on these forums before, sadly its usually quickly dismissed..
This would be sort of like a reversed DR though, so obviously Arena net would never even consider it.
Shaman isn’t really a huge deal til 40+ in my experience (playing as a guard). And at that level, it really is probably the hardest boss fight for all the levels but there has to be one that’s the hardest right?
Even at 40+ if you get two guards you’re usually set, add in a thief and you’re golden.
one would think jade maw should be the hardest, yet he remains the easiest :P
So if players feel the game is lacking after five months of playing it, they should just leave?
Yeah that sounds like a good long term business model cobalt, you should be working for arena net.
Cliffside is way to long compared to other fractals, however equally volcano is far to difficult compared to other fractals.
It really should be put in line, you shouldnt need multiple guardians to make it a decent fight.
(Volcano gets batkitten insane after 30)
I think main problem for volcano is that it scales to harshly compared to other fractals, the jump from 10-20-30 is MUCHHH higher then for any of the other dungeons.
1-9 and 10-19 volcano is actually perfectly fine as it is.

I’ve played 600+ hours and my highest priced item sold was 35 silver… O_O
I get all my gold (just 50 in total) from selling low level mats, not the worthless drops. But I don’t do FOTM so I guess it’s my fault for not doing what Anet want’s me to do.
600+ hours, and how much did you pay (excepting the original disc/box investment) in that time?
How many people out there have the 600, 700, 900+ hours of game time, cry about the game not being customised to their imagining, and have paid NOTHING for the experience?
yeah i got 600+ and I spent 12 months worth of subs ont the game… now I want my 12 months of proper loot, ty.
fact is your arguement becomes irrelevant, leech or not leech, you still get punched in the gut by Arena nets twisted loot math
I never knew a time when buying gems was mandatory. the option(however tempting) is always there. by and large it’s to make up coin gaps for impatient players with more disposable incomes. there’s nothing wrong with buying gems IMO. excessive purchases could be problematic, but the occasional splurge helps both the player and anet.
was being sarcastic.. clearly the guy thinks that drop rates should be gimped so people are “forced” to use gems, but reality is leecher or not, bad loot effects everyone.
Its a average, dosnt mather if you dont get them everytime, some runs you get non, some runs you get 5g worth of items etc.
Average = Total Amount / # of trials. He would have to have instances where he gets >10g to make an average of 10g. Merely stating how is that possible (without being super lucky) if reaching 10g alone is being incredibly lucky.
Also need to remeber that shorter runs also adds a + to that average, and getting 2-3 rares is not uncommon.
And once in a blue moon you get that exo ontop of it also.
I’ve played 600+ hours and my highest priced item sold was 35 silver… O_O

Nope.
When the dungeons are this easy and quick to finish, the DR should remain.
Of course, because every player in the game runs dungeons.
When it comes to a game altering feature like DR, majority rules.
OP:
Would you rather have instance lockdowns like other MMOs?
You will never be able to spam CoF1 over and over again to get 60 tokens every run. No matter what rules decide to put in the game/change.
The reason they needed a lockdown in other games were because they offered gear proggesion,Wrong to even compare gw2 dungeons to them tbh.
That said, I find token DR to be fine, what is unacceptable is DR that is less obvious.
I predict they wont keep falling for to much longer.
Edit button is your friend
Important to remeber this is across all the servers, which makes it a considerably lower number, and the big question how many of those are just getting passed from person to person?
Also he said many players are earning them without using trading post, which is extremly unlikely, anyone that can afford a 500g precursor, most likely either used trading post at some point for the majority of the g, farmed before dr, bought a low value precursor or profitted big of black lion chests, chocolate, or halloween skins.
For someone to earn it without using trading post now it would at the very least take 2 months..
So I am not saying no one did it.. but many? dosnt seem likely at all.
Can’t help but feel that im getting a bit off track here :p
Well like I said earlier in the thread, I belive the current system is fine for high quantity items, the problem is low quantity items.
Really? scamming? Its neither deceptive or fraudlent, for it to be, I would have to activly influence the sellers idea of the price, which was never something I even hinted to in this post.. Its not scamming, or “borderland” scamming as you call it.
As for this “superior” system that protect players, really? how does it protect players? for it to protect players stuff like spidy would have to be built into the game so you couldnt possibly be wrong about the prices you sold at.
As for exploiting players, what makes you think this is not happening already? just in a slightly diffrent way, more subtle if you like, precursors is a perfect example of sellers exploiting the players “need” for a item.
Infact you could argue that trading by nature is all about exploiting others people needs, wants, lack of time, etcetc
Edit: Aztex, good points.
and Ohoni, I might agree with you except fact is you CAN make more money sitting in lion arch playing the tp, IF you got a very specific skillset, this limits the general populations ability to profit, while greatly rewarding those with that skillset.
Infact you could say that the current system plays right into the hands of shady characters, if you catch my drift.
I would like nothing more then being able to play the game to make a profit, but as it is its just not logical, the amount of gold you can make from farming is so limited due to the heavy DR or RNG that if you want to get ANYWHERE in the game, TP is THE option.
(edited by Kilrain Daggerspine.6843)
So your reply starts with saying how you cannot fully manipulate the current system, then goes on to say how I should manipulate the current system, and take advantage of the fact that other people are manipulating it.
color me confused..
You seem to think the average mmo AH can be completly controlled by market manipulation, not true, sure certain items will be controlled, but this is already the case with this system also.. I don’t see the relevance.
Also im not saying the TP needs to be reworked, 2 things ive asked for:
A) Ability to trade item for gold player to player, safely.
B) Make it impossible to access TP info outside of the game, (stuff like gw2spidy etc)
Like I said before, I like gw2spidy, but I feel it has a overall negative impact on the tp as it removes the ability to catch deals.
(edited by Kilrain Daggerspine.6843)
abusing it how? If the same player gets red flagged repeatedly there is obviously a bigger issue.
Also for botters reporting themselves, really? obviously your account would need to be frozen before compensation starts rolling.. and why should Anet freeze it before they actually got comfirmation hes a bot? and when its confirmed.. well he could claim he was normal until he turned blue.
Also you would have to be pretty dense to risk a 40$ account to get 2$ worth of ingame currency
Personally I would not suggest investing with summer break in mind, in my experience is wildy differs based on game how active
game is during summer break, for some games it skyrockets, for others it actually goes down during summer break, vacations etc, less need to stay insides etcetc.
Serves you right for playing a ranger, kitten tree hugger!!! Seriously though, wrongful bans need to have some sort of compensation period.
100-200 gem for every day Arena Net used to resolve the issue tbh.
Find it completly unreasonable to use excuses like the one that was used in this case, When guilty until proven innocent becomes the standard we are in trouble.

I see many people hating on RNG.
BUT..
Life is based on RNG. Your conception was RNG. Out of 375 million sperm cells, one only get to fuse with one eggcell and formed you.
1/375000000. that’s still worse than the mystic forge.
I won the race, now I want my exotic. I deserve it!
Wait… was that sarcasm…?
…What exactly are you getting at…?
…I have a better chance of being born again than getting a precursor? That’s just silly…
…Or are you saying it would be easier to have children…?
…Are they adding a mystic forge recipie that involves egg and spurm to get a precursor and given you the numbers? What is going on? Who are you? What exactly did you mean? When does the circus come to town? And why is bacon so nice?

You’re saying you prefer market failures because it adds a sense of opportunity?
In a way that is exactly what im saying, a healthy game market should in my opinion have a sense of opportunity, I rarely get that feeling at all in the current market, even when I do find a item with high return rates, it always ends up as a boring 1cp up pricing war.
Not fun at all.
One example of this is d3, It was a absoluty HORRIBLE game, and the amount of inflation in the ah made it progressivly worse.
But the sense of opportunity was great, It actually felt worthwhile to sit down and watch the prices of items for hours upon hours, actually getting rewarded for learning the actual value and demand of a item, rather then having the game tell you the demand etc.
The current TP works great for high quantity items like crafting mats etc, but for higher value items I don’t like it at all.
Infact chances are precursors would go down naturally in price if players wernt instantly informed that they can get 500g for them trough tp.
That said, I am not a very articulate man, nor am I a econmics wizards, So I am prob not the best person to explain how to do this or come up with how it should be done.
I do how ever know what I like in Mmos after 15+ years of playing them, and being able to get deals is one of the major draws for me, and it is something that has been possible in almost every single mmo up to date, with the exception of gw2.
Gw2 tp just seems to end up as a cold number crunching game to me, and I can’t find the fun in it.
and im gueesing im not the only one.
Edit: Dan, that is kinda my point, I feel allowing access to that info outside of game is a mistake.
I have to make the argument that your deals are coming at the expense of another player. You are arguing against market efficiency because you want to exploit other people easier, I don’t agree that’s a positive goal for the game overall (though I make no judgement about personal goals).
I would hardly consider it exploiting other players, that player would have the same possibility to learn prices as anyone else, not to mention those opportunities would also be open to him.
Point is you should be rewarded for getting accustomed to the values and demand of items, and for how much time you are willing to invest in selling that item.
The current system seems more like a safety net for people who want to sell theyr items at full price in the simple click of a button.
Also unlike the current system, what I propose does not require a specifc ADVANCED skillset, if anything overall it is more fair, as everyone has a shot, instead of just people with a economics degree, or a natural talent.
current system seems heavily in favour of people with overall economics knowledge, that are intrested in mid-long term investments.
If anything I would argue that the average player is already being exploited on a daily basis trough tp by those who know economics.
As for personal goal, my only personal “goal” when it comes to playing this game is having fun.. Currently this game is actively limiting my ability to do so in alot of cases.
I have fun grinding, when I get properly rewarded for it, I am not.
I have fun playing the Auction House, When it dosnt require 5 hours of number crunching to make a 5% profit.
I have fun doing endgame, when it feels like im progressing, also very limited.
Deal hunting isnt a must for me to enjoy Trading post, but the current system dosnt have much opportunity for “fun”, if anything its more like having a second job.
Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoy gw2 overall, however it could be ALOT better.
(edited by Kilrain Daggerspine.6843)
Not expecting it to ever happen either.
5 melee zerker team has no problems with dps check boss, more news at 10.
haha! must admit i laughed at the aboves reply aswell.

It is for you wallet.
Going for Zerk Amulet, but cannot decide wether to put it on guard or war tbh.. as for infusion, Mf would be nice, but 5 ar is useful.
Tbh, to me the problem is that Anet seems to think that a good economy is a realistic economy, and while I don’t agree with everything the poster sais, I do have to agree that the economy should make you want to play.
example of stuff that is not really viable in gw2s economy, is getting steals, I had alot of fun looking for superb deals in other games, and it dosnt take as much economical knowledge to be good at it, just takes patience.
This is partially because the players are way to well informed about prices, due to sites like spidy being allowed to exist (don’t get me wrong, I love gw2spider, but I feel the economy would be better of without it).
Another part is the fact that you cannot in any way safely trade outside of using the TP.
Dunno how p4 could ever be free loot, that place is freaking long!
And personally I think it is completly reasonable to nerf simin slightly, the difficulty diffrence between her and the other bosses in the dungeon is quite substantial.
And its not like hes removing the regen, only lowering it so that any group composition has a fair chance.
- Hearts replacing quests ruins replayability
- Personal story being devoid of meaningful choices despite being advertised otherwise
- Events are buggy and non-functional months after release
- Event bosses are mindless zergs
- Lack of the Holy Trinity effectively killed complex boss design
- sPVP is a complete joke, poorly balanced and completely abandoned
- WvW is nothing but zergs, capture trading, and door smashing
- Dungeons are a mess of bugs and erratic requirements, either too easy or full of fake difficulty
- Loot DR implemented to force gem purchases upon the playerbase
- Bots left to do their thing, ruining the economy
- Servers list accounts tied to server, not actual populations to hide poor player retention
- Legendary weapons not legendary, just a massive grind
- Trahearne (THIS IS MY STORY LOL)
- Zhaitan (SPAM 2 TO KILL THE ELDER DRAGON LOL)
Need I say more?
He asked examples of poor design, not baseless dismissal with no reasoning/evidence.
I mean, you said one-man aggroing whole dungeon while one refills his health and others spam the same rotation is “complex boss design”, go figure.
My 9 yo nephew beats all wow dungeons so unless he’s a magician that is childproof boss design – yet he has very hard times playing GW2.
Bots have been banned in dozens of thousands and are hardly seen around anymore.
WvW zerg? By what logic “mass PvP” is supposed to be about small teams?
The only things you got right are poor design of Personal Story/Trahearne.Need I say more?
wait what? bots hardly seen around anymore? what magical server filled candy and unicorns is this ? SHARE!
I can’t speak for anyone else, but I am still seeing truckloads of them, especially in zones like frostgorge.
While I completly agree that DR is bullkitten, there are already plenty of threads like this, why make another one that offer nothing new ?
Well the easiest way i found is that once he is invisible to take a look at the mini map and keep as far off distance from him as possible until he becomes visible.
Lol, killed him so many times, and relativly sucsessful even at higher lvls.. and i never even thought of doing this.. good going, you made me feel proper stupid lol.
Seen that plenty, its getting to be more common then “arrow to the knee”, Also I find it amusing that some of you try to make extrapolation out to be a joke, it is actually quite useful, chances are most of you use it on a daily basis to come to relevant conclussions.
I base my predictions on previous precursor history, and while I cannot predict just how far up the precursors will go up, it is a pretty safe bet that they will go up.
But hey, if someone a year from now has farmed 500g, and the price has not gone up, feel free to say “I told you so”, I on the other hand will not say I told you so, cause chances are you’d feel kittenty enough as is at that point.
Obviously I cannot predict wether Arena net makes changes that lower precursor price, but amusingly enough that is exactly what your group seems to be trying to avoid ursan.
So if you do indeed get your will, my predictions are that much more likely to come true.
